Biden’s Canadian Border Surge Continues — May Arrests Up 422 Percent over Last Year

The spread of Biden’s border crisis to the U.S.-Canada border continues its exponential growth. Swanton Sector agents arrested more than 3,300 migrants in June, up more than 420 percent from last June. Year-to-date arrests are up nearly 190 percent over the same period last year.

Swanton Sector agents apprehended more than 3,300 migrants during the month of June, according to unofficial Border Patrol reports obtained and reviewed by Breitbart Texas. This us up by more than 420 percent over the approximately 630 migrants apprehended in June 2023. It is also up by about 10 percent over last year’s record-breaking month for the sector.

So far this fiscal year, which began on October 1, 2023, Swanton Sector agents apprehended more than 12,850 migrants. This is up by nearly 190 percent from last year, the report states.

Swanton Sector Chief Patrol Agent Robert Garcia reported on social media that his agents have apprehended migrants from 85 nations this fiscal year. This includes migrants from Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Angola, Anguilla, Argentina, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Congo, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Eswatini, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Guinea, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Hungary, India, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Liberia, Lithuania, Mauritania, Mexico, Morocco, Nepal, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Pakistan, Panama, Romania, Russia. The June arrest report represents the largest number of migrant encounters for any month in the sector’s history. The sector patrols the Canadian border with eastern New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire. It actually exceeds the annual total for any fiscal year before the Biden administration.

Migrant apprehensions in the Swanton Sector rose exponentially during the Biden era. Garcia reported that the apprehensions during the month of April exceeded the combined annual totals of FY21 and FY22.

Since President Joe Biden took office in January 2021, Swanton Sector agents have arrested more than 21,000 migrants — more than all prior years dating back FY 2003 combined.

Russia’s New ‘Combat Icebreaker’ Heads For Sea Trials

Russia continues to push forward with the rapid renewal and expansion of its icebreaker fleet. In addition to commissioning three new nuclear icebreakers in the last four years, with three more currently under construction, Russia’s first armed combat icebreaker, Ivan Papanin, is now headed for open water factory trials.

Ivan Papanin was laid down in 2017 and is expected to join Russia’s Northern Fleet by the end of 2024. Two additional vessels of the type are under construction for the naval units of the country’s border patrol.

“The patrol ship Ivan Papanin, built for the Russian Navy at the Admiralty Shipyards, has entered factory sea trials. During this stage of the trials, the functioning of the propulsion system and onboard equipment systems will be checked,” the Russia Ministry of Defense announced in a statement.

Unlike nuclear icebreaking vessels operated by state-owned Atomflot, which primarily serve to escort merchant vessels through the icy waters of the Northern Sea Route, the combat icebreakers are equipped with offensive capabilities. They include the 76mm AK-176MA gun and pre-installed launchers for Uran anti-ship and Kalibr-NK cruise missiles.

With a displacement of around 9,000 tonnes Ivan Papanin is around half the size of the delayed U.S. Coast Guard Polar Security Cutter.

Capable of breaking through five and a half feet of ice it will be able to access most of the Arctic Ocean unassisted, except during the depth of winter. Its capabilities are comparable to Norway’s Svalbard icebreaking patrol vessel, though the Russian counterpart will be much heavier armed.

Another new icebreaker also entered into service this week in China, bringing the country’s total number of research icebreakers to three, with a fourth under construction.

The Polar Class 6 vessel Ji Di follows Xue Long 1 and 2. The 5,600 tonnes Ji Di was constructed in just over two years following the awarding of the contract in March 2022. Its operations will be limited to summer and fall in first-year ice conditions.

A larger 9,200 tonnes Polar Class 4 icebreaker named Tan Suo San Hao is under construction simultaneously at the Guangzhou Shipyard. The vessel was launched in April 2024 and is expected to enter into service in 2025.

Meanwhile, a new U.S. icebreaker remains at least 6-7 years into the future, at the earliest. Recent Congressional hearings highlighted ongoing program delays and cost overruns, with construction yet to start more than five years after awarding the contract to VT Halter Marine, now Bollinger.

The Coast Guard’s sole heavy icebreaker, the 50-year old Polar Star, is currently undergoing another round of refurbishment to eke out a few more years of service.

“Major maintenance extends the service life of Polar Star beyond that of its original design,” the Coast Guard explained.

The service life extension program (SLEP) is conducted annually at Mare Island Dry Dock in Vallejo, California. This year’s three-months program includes maintenance and overhaul of the HVAC system, electrical control stations for the boilers, and a complete redesign of the flooding alarm system.

The current refurbishment is the fourth out of five planned phases, which target propulsion, communication and machinery control systems.

Last year’s SLEP phase included installation of a new fire detection system to help contain and fight onboard fires. Polar Star was faced with an onboard fire in 2019.

The Supreme Court of the United States announced several orders regarding gun rights today.

The first case that was examined was Garland v. Range. Bryan Range sued the government because he became a prohibited person after pleading guilty to lying about his income to obtain food stamps. The Court gave Range three years of probation and stripped him of his gun rights for life. He claimed that the punishment was inconsistent with the nation’s historical tradition of firearms regulation. The lower Court decided for the government, but the full bench of the Third Circuit Court of Appeals sided with Range.

SCOTUS granted certiorari to the case, vacated the decision, and remanded (GVR) the suit back to the Third Circuit, considering the United States v. RahimiSupreme Court opinion. In Rahimi, SCOTUS said that a person could be temporarily disarmed if they posed a danger. Range was not convicted of a violent crime, and no one claims he is a danger to himself or others, so it will be interesting to see how the Third Circuit weighs the Rahimi opinion in the rehearing.

The second case that met the same fate due to Rahimiwas United States. v. Daniels. This case challenges the federal prohibition of drug users owning guns. In April 2022, police stopped Patrick Daniels’ car because it had no license plate. Police reported that Daniel’s car smelled of marijuana. This smell gave the police probable cause to search the man’s vehicle. Police uncovered marijuana and two firearms.

A jury found Daniels guilty and sentenced him to 46 months in prison for being in possession of a gun while being an unlawful user of a controlled substance. Daniels appealed the guilty verdict, claiming the law violated the Second Amendment. The District Court would rule against the man, but the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the decision.

A third case that was sent back down to the circuit due to Rahimi was Antonyuk v. Steven. This case challenges New York State’s Concealed Carry Improvement Act (CCIA). New York passed the CCIA as a response to the Bruen opinion. After the CCIA passed, Ukrainian immigrant Ivan Antonyuk teamed up with Gun Owners of America (GOA) to sue the state. A District Court judge would issue an injunction against the enforcement of the CCIA, but the Second Circuit would step in and stay the injunction. Eventually, the Second Circuit would lift the injunction on many of the critical provisions of the District Court’s injunction.

The final case SCOTUS considered was Harrel v. Raoul, which challenged the Illinois “assault weapons” ban. SCOTUS denied cert, although Alito would have granted cert. The Court denied cert because the merits of the case had not been heard. The Court decided it should let the case work its way through the Courts before taking the case, but Associate Justice Clarence Thomas had strong words for the Seventh Circuit, hinting that SCOTUS was ready to step in and warned the Seventh Circuit to stay within the bounds of the Constitution.

“The Seventh Circuit’s decision illustrates why this Court must provide more guidance on which weapons the Second Amendment covers,” Thomas wrote. “By contorting what little guidance our precedents provide, the Seventh Circuit concluded that the Second Amendment does not protect ‘militaristic’ weapons. It then tautologically defined ‘militaristic’ weapons as those ‘that may be reserved for military use.’ The Seventh Circuit’s contrived ‘non-militaristic’ limitation on the Arms protected by the Second Amendment seems unmoored from both text and history). And, even on its own terms, the Seventh Circuit’s application of its definition is nonsensical. (‘The AR–15 is a civilian, not military, weapon. No army in the world uses a service rifle that is only semiautomatic’). Federal prosecutors knew Jeffrey Epstein raped teenage girls 2 years before they cut him a sweetheart plea deal. We now know this because a Florida judge on Monday unveiled the grand jury transcript from that 2006 investigation.

Alex Acosta heard directly from one victim who clearly stated Epstein raped her the day before her 18th birthday. Acosta was the top federal prosecutor in Florida at the time of the plea agreement. He had first-hand testimony, but still gave Epstein a light plea deal. Epstein was sentenced to 1.5 years sentence in the Palm Beach County jail system, but his sentence he was allowed to go to his office almost daily as part of a work-release program. He also had a year of house arrest and was required to register as a sex offender.

I’ve read through the 150-paged transcript and here’s the key points you need to see:

Epstein raped a 17-year-old girl the day before her 18th birthday:

He gave the rape victim $1,000 in cash and a rental car:

Nada Marcinkoba is Epstein’s assistant and sex slave. She was brought into the United states from Yougoslavia. She was engaged in sex acts with Epstein and minors were asked to watch and/or join in. During a raid on Epstein’s home, sex toys were only found in Nada’s room.

Palm Beach Police Department did a “trash pull” on Epstein’s home. Thats where sanitation takes a person’s trash in an empty container and passes it to police. Police found girl’s names and phone numbers thrown out on paper. This is important because one victim claims Epstein asked for her number after her “jerked off” in front of her, but never reached back out. He likely did this to make the girls feel like he had long-term interest:
