However, things are starting to return to normal (in most parts of the country), and just about everyone is back to work. This would apparently include our elected representatives.

But a strange report out of Washington shows us that certain politicos are still not in the office.

Just recently, President Joe Biden spoke about “moving forward safely, back to more normal routines.” Presumably, he was talking about the entire nation, which of course encompasses his colleagues.

And while certain federal health mandates and guidelines remain in place, citizens expect everyone to be working again.

But a new investigation conducted by the Washington Free Beacon has revealed that more than a few Democrats on Capitol Hill are still worried about the coronavirus epidemic.

As a result, they’re not back to work at all; the offices are still shuttered and dark, and have remained that way for quite some time. It could stretch back several years to the start, in fact.

According to an investigation from The Washington Free Beacon, many Democratic offices remain ‘completely closed and unstaffed, with several displaying signs that they were not returning to work due to COVID-19.’

According to the report,Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer(D-NY) is among the offices that remain closed. His front desk was unstaffed and nobody was working in the middle of the day.

The office ofSen. Catherine Cortez Masto(D-ID) was also vacant, with a sign on the door that reads, “Cleaning not required.”

Lastly, there’sSen. Bernie Sanders(I-VT), who also hasn’t come back to the office, and the sign on that door said they were closed in “an effort to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria.”

Other Democrats also aren’t working on site:Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse(D-RI) andPatty Murray(D-WA) are telecommuting, but they’ve yet to return to work in person.

This rings a sour note for many Americans who have long since returned to work, and many wonder why these Democrat representatives are still hiding behind the pandemic as a reason to stay home.

While the “stealth variant” of the Omicron virus spreads across Europe and health experts are concerned about its eruption here, the hospitalization and death numbers continue to decline in the U.S.

On top of that, even if the reps in D.C. are still worried, face masks could be used if they chose to return to their offices.

Instead, they remain MIA and it may not sit well, even with members of their constituency. “Returning to normal” is a top priority for much of the country but it seems some politicos are in no rush.
