Border Patrol agents apprehend nearly 200 migrants at the border, more than half unaccompanied children
U.S. Border Patrol agents in Arizona apprehended nearly 200 illegal immigrants near the Mexican border on Wednesday, finding that well over half were unaccompanied children.
Agents with the Tucson border sector encountered a group of 197 illegal immigrants shortly after 7 a.m. near San Miguel, just a few miles north of the U.S.-Mexican border.
The agents determined that 147 were unaccompanied children and that most of them had come from Guatemala.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection told Fox News that members of the group were transported to CBP’s processing facility where they were fed, medically screened, and processed for turnover of custody to the Department of Homeland Security’s Health and Human Services.
The encounter came just two days after Border Patrol agents encountered another group of illegal immigrants – this time, 48 – near Sasabe, Ariz. Of the group, 39 were juveniles, ages 5 to 17. Well over half were from Guatemala.
While illegal border crossings have broadly increased since Biden took office, the Tucson Sector Border Patrol has encountered more than 13,600 unaccompanied children for the fiscal year 2021 – a 189% increase over 2020.
CBP says the vast majority of apprehensions at the border are unaccompanied children who are coming from the "Northern Triangle" countries – Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala.

The Senate Armed Services Committee voted to add $25 billion to President Biden’s proposed military budget for 2022, bringing the total to a whopping $778 billion.
The additional funds will go to the Pentagon and are meant to give military services’ weapons and training programs that were not covered by Biden’s budget request. The Pentagon will receive about $740 billion of the $778 billion, and the rest will go to other departments’ military spending, such as the Energy Department’s nuclear weapons programs.
The increase was added by a Republican-led amendment to the 2022 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), but it received bipartisan support. The NDAA passed the committee in a vote of 23-3. The committee is split almost evenly, with 12 Democrats, 13 Republicans, and one Independent.
Biden’s budget request was not enough for Republican hawks who don’t think the administration is doing enough to compete with China. The NDAA is far from being finalized. The committee’s version now needs to be approved by the Senate and then negotiated with the House.
Whether or not the $778 billion NDAA ends up being the final bill, the vote from the Senate Armed Services Committee is significant. It shows a bipartisan rebuke to Biden’s proposed budget, which was already massive.

Fauci may be refusing to appear in Congress to answer questions, hiding behind the Democrats in control of the committees and hoping they would never subpoena him, but this is not restricted to simply a Republican v Democrat confrontation. This is becoming a serious issue politically on a global scale. Other governments will point to Fauci to escape their own failures. The real problem here is the fact that viruses are organisms that evolve to survive, and that means to defeat any vaccine. We will see variants evolve that will circumvent these vaccines, which were never based upon the actual virus. Some are concerned that these viruses may make the immune system less robust to handle new strains that will emerge. The great unknown is nobody really knows what will happen.

The Nigerian Air Force has said that Nigeria has received the first batch of A-29 Super Tucano aircraft procured from the United States of America.
A statement signed by NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, said the aircraft arrived in Kano State at about 12.34 p.m on Thursday.
Gabwet noted that the Honourable Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (Rtd), Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao were on hand to receive the aircraft.
Naija News reports that the Federal Government in February 2018 placed an order for 12 Super Tucano aircraft at a cost of $496million.
The fighter jets are expected to boost the operations of the military in its anti-terrorism war against Boko Haram and splinter group, the Islamic State in West Africa Province, in Nigeria’s North-East.
Also, former US President Donald Trump had confirmed the sales of the fighter planes to Nigeria during a 2018 meeting with his Nigerian counterpart, Muhammadu Buhari.
The arrival of the Super Tucano is a major boost to the country’s fight against insurgency, banditry in the Northern region of the country.

Pregnant women are now eligible to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine regardless of their age.
The federal Department of Health has updated its eligibility criteria on its website to include pregnant women in its list of prioritised groups, along with those with underlying health conditions.

Current research suggests pregnant women are not more likely to contract COVID-19, but are at greater risk of serious illness and pregnancy complications, including miscarriage and pre-term labour.
The Pfizer mRNA shot is the only vaccine recommended for pregnant women currently available in Australia.

Texas Couple Charged With Smuggling 89 Migrants In Stolen Trailer Through US-Mexico Checkpoint
LAREDO, Texas – A Houston-area man and woman are set to appear in Laredo federal court on allegations they attempted to smuggle undocumented aliens inside a stolen trailer.
Marc Anthony Bane, 45, Porter, and Tara Renee Dillon, 33, Conroe, are set to appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Christopher Dos Santos at 3 p.m. today.
According to the charges, Bane and Dillon arrived at the Border Patrol (BP) checkpoint on Interstate Highway 35 approximately 29 miles north of Laredo in a tractor-trailer. There, a service K-9 allegedly detected an odor within the trailer. The charges allege law enforcement then searched the vehicle and found 89 undocumented non-U.S. citizens.
The individuals were sweating profusely inside the warm trailer even though it was approximately 3 a.m. when authorities found them, according to the charges.
Bane allegedly expected to be paid $1,000 for transporting the trailer.
If convicted, Bane and Dillon face up to 10 years in federal prison and a possible $250,000 maximum fine.

Why it's done
Circumcision is a religious or cultural ritual for many Jewish and Islamic families, as well as certain aboriginal tribes in Africa and Australia. Circumcision can also be a matter of family tradition, personal hygiene or preventive health care.
Sometimes there's a medical need for circumcision, such as when the foreskin is too tight to be pulled back (retracted) over the glans. In other cases, particularly in parts of Africa, circumcision is recommended for older boys or men to reduce the risk of certain sexually transmitted infections.
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) says the benefits of circumcision outweigh the risks. However, the AAP doesn't recommend routine circumcision for all male newborns. The AAP leaves the circumcision decision up to parents — and supports use of anesthetics for infants who have the procedure.
Circumcision might have various health benefits, including:
Easier hygiene. Circumcision makes it simpler to wash the penis. However, boys with uncircumcised penises can be taught to wash regularly beneath the foreskin.
Decreased risk of urinary tract infections. The risk of urinary tract infections in males is low, but these infections are more common in uncircumcised males. Severe infections early in life can lead to kidney problems later.
Decreased risk of sexually transmitted infections. Circumcised men might have a lower risk of certain sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. Still, safe sexual practices remain essential.
Prevention of penile problems. Occasionally, the foreskin on an uncircumcised penis can be difficult or impossible to retract (phimosis). This can lead to inflammation of the foreskin or head of the penis.
Decreased risk of penile cancer. Although cancer of the penis is rare, it's less common in circumcised men. In addition, cervical cancer is less common in the female sexual partners of circumcised men.
The risks of not being circumcised, however, are not only rare, but avoidable with proper care of the penis.
Circumcision might not be an option if certain blood-clotting disorders are present. Also, circumcision might not be appropriate for premature babies who still require medical care in the hospital nursery or for babies born with abnormalities of the penis.
Circumcision doesn't affect fertility, nor is circumcision generally thought to enhance or detract from sexual pleasure for men or their partners.

The exoplanets
There is now evidence that demonstrates the existence of “exoplanets” – that is, planets orbiting stars other than our Sun.
That evidence is based on the discoveries made by the Kepler space telescope, launched by NASA in 2009.
For four years, the telescope stared continuously at a single region of space within the constellation Cygnus.
Looking from Earth, it’s an area that takes up less than 1% of your view of the sky.
