Fire reported at Angus Bonner Memorial United Church in South Indian Lake, Manitoba

The United Church of Canada announced that Angus Bonner Memorial United Church in South Indian Lake was burned on Sunday, July 4.

Details are scarce on the damage to the Manitoba church due to communication issues with the remote community.

Rev. Murray Pruden, the United Church of Canada's executive minister for Indigenous Ministries and Justice announced the Bonner church fire on social media:

The United Church of Canada announced that the Samson United Church on Maskwacis First Nation was burned on June 19.

The church reportedly suffered interior damage and water damage. It's not yet known if the building is salvageable.

Majority of Ontario children reported depression symptoms during lockdown: report

A new report from Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children found that most children in Ontario are suffering from symptoms of depression as lockdowns and school closures persist.

Released Thursday, the report found that just over half of children aged 8 to 12 reported symptoms of depression in February and March of this year.

Among children aged 13 to 18, a staggering 70% reported symptoms of depression.

“We are seeing that children of all ages have had negative consequences from public health guidelines that have largely been put in place to protect adults,” Sick Kids pediatrician Dr. Catherine Birken told the Toronto Star.

“[The results] are very, very concerning for us, and we wanted to share that preliminary information if it’s helpful for parents, clinicians and policy-makers to think about how to mitigate that as we move into the school year.”

The researchers found a strong relationship between school closures and poor mental health, concluding that keeping children out of the classroom has led to increased rates of depression.

The report also found that the number of children involved in sports or extracurricular clubs has declined significantly during the pandemic.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, children in Ontario have spent little time in the classroom due to multiple lockdowns. Experts across Canada have warned of a “mental health crisis” that disproportionately affects children, including increased hospitalizations for mental illnesses.

Earlier in 2021, Ontario entered another lockdown and remains one of the most locked-down places in North America. Schools have remained closed for much of 2021.

Sick Kids psychiatrist Dr. Daphne Korczak says there is no evidence children have learned to cope with constant lockdowns, with the research showing that mental health has not improved over time.

“We didn’t see evidence of adaptation and resilience. Kids in Ontario experienced this stressor chronically for this year, and the longer the stressors continue, like the cancellation or changes to schools, the greater the risk is of a long-term problem,” Korczak said.

“We have to have meaningful conversations as our society reopens about how we can prioritize children and their mental health.”

One in six Canadians don’t trust information from the government

A quarterly study commissioned by the Privy Council Office found that one in six Canadians do not trust information from the federal government.

The survey titled Continuous Tracking Of Canadians’ Views cost taxpayers $1,514,098 and was conducted by Elemental Data Collection Inc.

According to the survey results obtained by Blacklock’s Reporter, 16% of Canadians responded negatively to the question “to what extent do you trust Government of Canada information?”

Negative perceptions of government news were the highest in Alberta and the Northwest Territories which had 35% of people say that they had low trust. Trust was the highest in Atlantic Canada, where nearly 69% of people said they trust government information.

Meanwhile, 15% of people from Ontario said they didn’t trust government information, 10% from Quebec, 13% in British Columbia and 24% in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Nunavut.

“Through the use of this survey the Privy Council Office wanted to assess the perceptions of Canadians on governmental priorities,” wrote the survey methodology report.

“This input was needed because complex issues are often difficult to communicate to the Canadian public in a manner that is easily and clearly understood.”

With regard to specific issues, trust in government information about vaccines was the lowest. In total, 17.1% of Canadians reported that they had low trust in the government’s information about vaccines.

Trust was the highest among those polled when it came to the topic of “health advice” with 71.7% claiming that they had high trust in the information that the Government of Canada was providing them.

Treating people equally is a form of racism, claims Toronto school board

A Toronto District School Board (TDSB) presentation from last year lectured parents on how treating people equally was a form of “colorblindness racism” along with other ideas stemming from critical race theory (CRT).

In a slideshow titled “Talking Race with your Child(ren),” the TDSB called on parents to “avoid neutral language” such as “we are all people” when having race-related discussions with their children.

“Colorblindness is the racial ideology that posits the best way to end discrimination is by treating individuals as equally as possible, without regard to race, culture, or ethnicity,” the TDSB claimed, citing a 2011 Psychology Today article.

In a separate slide addressing colourblindness, the TDSB wrote that treating everyone equally “foists whiteness on everyone” and “strips non-white people of their uniqueness.”

The concept of colourblind racism comes out of CRT-related teachings which have received newfound attention south of the border, as a handful of state school boards have passed bills banning CRT in schools.

“Critical educators, particularly Critical Race pedagogues, critique color blind ideology as tantamount to racism because it serves to maintain racial inequality,” a 2008 paper by Governors State University professor Jung-ah Choi notes.

As a way to heighten knowledge about race, the TDSB advises parents to “intentionally seek out races/communities different from your own” and to only watch TV or radio programs that address racism.

The presentation was given during a November 12, 2020 Virtual Ward 8 Forum featuring TDSB Trustee Shelley Laskin which was open to parents and the general community on the topic of “equity.”

Ward 8 contains nearly 3 dozen schools in Toronto’s Eglinton-Lawrence area and beyond.

“This session explores these key terms (stereotype, prejudice, discrimination, oppression, race, racism, anti-racism, and anti-Black racism) along with our individual roles in reducing the educational disparities caused by systemic oppression,” a flyer advertising the event claimed.

According to an agenda of the event, a total of two presentations were given by TDSB’s Equity Coaches Jamie Berrigan and Shayle Graham. TDSB Superintendents John Chasty, Andrew Howard and Denise Humphreys were also in attendance at the event.

In the second presentation given by the TDSB’s Equity, Anti-Racism, and Anti-Oppression Team, presenters called for a deep commitment to “changing how educators conceptualize and engage in curriculum, pedagogy, classroom management and school culture.”

“Anti-oppressive education explores privileges and power imbalances within social groups and structures and expects to be different, perhaps uncomfortable, and even controversial,” presenters claimed.

(Natural News) Canadian constitutional lawyer and president of the Justice Center for Constitutional Freedoms John Carpay is warning the public that Canada is at risk of becoming a totalitarian COVID police state.

In a video he released in early May titled “Canada: The COVID Police State,” Carpay warned about how the Canadian government is turning into a police state. It is doing this through the accumulation of more and more power for itself under the pretext of keeping society safe from the coronavirus.

“Very basic, fundamental freedoms have been taken away from us,” said Carpay.

The constitutional lawyer then went on to highlight examples, such as how most Canadian provinces and territories made it illegal to meet up with friends or enjoy dinner with parents and other family members during important occasions like Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving.

He also lamented the fact that children, who are significantly less likely to catch the disease, let alone die from it, are not even allowed to play team sports like hockey, basketball or soccer. Canadian coronavirus regulations have also prevented children from doing many other activities, such as performing in school plays or piano recitals.

“Children are forced to wear masks and told that if they get within six feet of another person, they will kill their own grandmother,” said Carpay.

The lawyer continued by talking about how simply being alone outside is now an offense in Canada. He mentioned that people walking their dog, exercising or peacefully protesting against lockdown measures can be issued tickets by police officers worth up to CA$1,000 ($802). Coronavirus fearmongering having significant effects on mental health of Canadians

Carpay further warned that everybody in Canada has been taught to live in a climate of fear “24 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks per year.” As Canada slowly rolls back some of its oppressive lockdown restrictions, reports are coming out about how many Canadians still feel the mental distress caused by the lockdowns.

Science Sam, a science communicator popular on social media, said this is to be expected after more than 16 months of lockdown in Canada.

“Our brains have been on high alert for stress and fear, so neuroanatomical it makes sense why people may be feeling [anxious],” she said. “But the good news is the brain is like a muscle that can relearn. It’s like if you keep crossing a field the same way, it slowly carves a path in the grass. But if you stop taking that path, the grass grows back.”

Dr. Sanjeev Sockalingam, a psychiatrist and clinical scientist at the Center for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, said the pandemic has been a life-changing experience for many people. People who lost loved ones or experienced other life-altering events such as changing jobs might find it difficult to reassess their new identities and new roles in post-pandemic society.

Sockalingam homes people do not forget to talk about the issues surrounding mental health after lockdown. “We [must] acknowledge that anxiety is normal and we might need to slow our pace, get a bit more support and coping strategies,” he said.

Claire Champigny, a doctoral candidate in developmental psychology at York University pointed out how, over the last 16 months, people’s brains have been made to associate mask-wearing, social distancing and not leaving the house with safety and security. Stepping outside these supposed “pandemic-safe bubbles” for the first time in over a year can be a challenge for some.

Champigny said there will be a “spectrum of reactions” to the lifting of restrictions. There may even be a subset of the population who hold on to social distancing and mask-wearing out of fear. But many more people saw face masks as symbols of oppression and restrictions.

“The first time we had to wear masks in grocery stores felt very unnatural,” said Champigny. “So it’s possible we go back to that faster than we think.”

Canadian COVID-19 field hospital which didn’t treat a single patient to be shut down

HAMILTON, Ontario, July 8, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — A “last resort” field hospital set up in Canada’s Ontario province to treat overflow COVID-19 patients was ordered to be shut down last month because the military-style facility had not been needed to treat a single patient.

According to a report by Canada’s CBC News, the Ontario Ministry of Health sent out a staff memo June 30 ordering the field hospital, set up by Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS), to close its doors immediately.

HHS public relations specialist Wendy Stewart affirmed that the facility, which was opened May 31 and equipped to treat up to 80 patients in eight tents, never treated a single one. She said the unit will be taken down by early September.

The memo which ordered the decommissioning lauded staff for the “tremendous amount of work [that] went into planning, constructing, staffing and equipping the state-of-the-art Hamilton Mobile Health Unit to ensure it was ready to receive patients from across Ontario if needed.”

“Hundreds of people were involved, and HHS is proud to have been part of this pandemic response initiative, along with our local, regional, provincial and federal partners,” the memo read.

Global News reported that upwards of 30 patients per week were being transferred to Hamilton from other Ontario localities in late April. In May, however, that number had already sharply declined.

In a town hall meeting May 20, HHS executive vice president and chief operating officer Sharon Pierson told staff the field hospital would probably not see any patients.

“It's come along very well,” she said, but it’s “looking very unlikely that we will ever use it.”

“It certainly has been of value to see it there as we think about what could've been the trajectory of COVID.”

Hamilton’s field hospital is not the only one folding up its operations.

Toronto’s Sunnybrook Hospital was also ordered to close down its field unit, which saw only 32 patients during its four months of operation.

Robert Burgess, senior director of emergency preparedness at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, told Global News that equipment and supplies were already being moved from the field unit into the main hospital building. He said the patients treated in the facility were “lower risk” and occupied only two of the unit’s 10 tents.

“The vast majority of the patients we saw, in fact all 32, were treated within the system and then either discharged or they moved on to the next level of care, like rehabilitation,” Burgess said.

The news of the mobile health units’ closures comes hard on the heels of previous reports which claimed that Ontario’s hospitals were overcrowded, with the federal government looking to recruit members of the military and the Canadian Red Cross to assist healthcare workers at the field units.

In April Stephen Warner, a spokesman for Ontario’s Solicitor General’s Office, said the federal government wanted to recruit additional help to deal with a “third wave” of coronavirus “cases.”

“We are exploring every potential measure to further build up Ontario's health-care workforce, including ongoing provincial initiatives to bolster the workforce and ensure our trained health-care professionals are deployed where they are needed most during this third wave,” he said in an email.

HHS spokeswoman Wendy Stewart told the media at the time that recruitment for the field hospital in Hamilton was “ongoing.”

At the end of April Ontario hospitals were supposedly “beyond their limits,” with 875 COVID-19 patients in critical care, according to Global News.

ONTARIO, July 8, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – A Canadian federal judge has ruled that the Canadian government unfairly denied access to an Ontario University and a Bible camp to Canada’s Summer Jobs Program (CSJ) because they hold traditional Christian views on marriage and family.

In a judgment made last week, the Honourable Justice Richard Mosley of Canada’s Federal court said the government had breached “procedural fairness” in how it treated the Redeemer University, located in Hamilton, Ontario.

Mosley ruled that CSJ funding for the school was denied solely because it holds the biblical view that marriage is between a man and a woman. He then ordered the federal government to pay the school’s full legal costs, a total of $102,000.

Albertos Polizogopoulos, a lawyer representing Redeemer University, said in a National Post report that he has “never seen that in any court, let alone the federal court,” adding that Mosley’s ruling was a “punitive” measure against the federal government.

Redeemer University had applied in 2019 for $104,187 in funds from the CSJ program to help pay the costs for 11 temporary openings at the school.

The school was denied the funds after a time lag of two months on the grounds that the school could not validate “that measures have been implemented to provide a workplace free of harassment and discrimination.”

The controversy surrounding the Canada Summer Jobs Program (CSJ) began in 2017 after then Employment, Workforce and Labour Minister Patty Hajdu mandated that groups wishing to receive funding from program sign an attestation supporting the so-called “right” to abortion.

At the time, applicants to the CSJ had to sign a document affirming that "both the job and the organization's core mandate must respect individual human rights in Canada, including the values underlying the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms as well as other rights."

The guide stated that the “rights” to which employers were obliged to pledge to included abortion access, as well as LGBTQ and transgender ideology.

After backlash, Hajdu said the government was modifying the controversial 2018 Canada Summer Job attestation, but the revised version in 2019 stated "Any funding under the Canada Summer Jobs program will not be used to undermine or restrict the exercise of rights legally protected in Canada."

Also added to the revised attestation was the requirement to explain "how your organization will be providing a safe, inclusive, and healthy work environment free of harassment and discrimination." Continue…

Conservative leader Erin O’Toole says he will fix Canada’s controversial Fiscal Stabilization Program to make it more fair for the Western provinces.

Speaking on Thursday in Calgary, O’Toole said Canada’s fiscal programs need urgent reform to end what the Conservatives have called the “mistreatment of Western Canadians.”

“Even as Alberta’s economy suffered with massive reductions in resource revenues, Albertans continued to pay more than their fair share to support the rest of the country,” he said.

“That’s why a Conservative government will fix the Fiscal Stabilization Program as a first step to ensuring that Western Canadians are treated equally in our confederation.”

The Fiscal Stabilization Program was created in 1967 to provide additional funding for provinces that see a sudden drop in revenues.

O’Toole’s proposal will allow Alberta to qualify for more funding and create a $5 billion “Equalization Rebate” to compensate the provinces like Alberta which have paid more into the system historically.

O’Toole says the proposed reforms comes from a 2019 reform proposal that Canada’s premiers unanimously endorsed but was never implemented by the Trudeau government.

“Alberta is struggling, and Albertans quite reasonably expect the rest of the country, including the federal government, to be in their corner,” said O’Toole.

“To begin to address the fact that Albertans have been asked to pay more than their fair share, a Conservative government will implement an Equalization Rebate, to give Albertans back some of the extra money they’ve paid during these tough years.”

Despite paying the most in various equalization schemes, Alberta has received very little benefits over the decades, even after suffering an economic crisis from the decline of the energy sector last year.

In a campaign-style speech, O’Toole said that only the Conservative Party will make Confederation more fair for the West and keep the energy sector alive.

“Canada’s Conservatives are here to offer a choice – more of the same from Justin Trudeau’s Liberals and the other parties on the left, or restoring fairness in the West with Canada’s Conservative,” he said.

WASHINGTON D.C., July 9, 2021 (Judicial Watch) – Judicial Watch announced today that it received 301 pages of emails and other records from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) officials in connection with the Wuhan Institute of Virology in Wuhan, China, revealing significant collaborations and funding that began in 2014. These new records reveal that NIAID gave nine China-related grants to EcoHealth Alliance to research coronavirus emergence in bats and was the National Institute of Health’s (NIH) top issuer of grants to the Wuhan lab itself.

These records also include an email from the Vice Director of the Wuhan Lab asking an NIH official for help finding disinfectants for decontamination of airtight suits and indoor surfaces.

Additionally, a World Health Day announcement lists “successful activities” of the U.S.-China collaboration that included “detailed surveillance throughout China and in other countries on the emergence of coronaviruses” and NIH’s receipt of influenza samples from China to “assess risks associated with emerging variants for pandemic and zoonotic threat.”

The records further show that, in 2018, Dr. Ping Chen, the NIAID Representative in China, learned of a “type of new flu vaccine using nano-technology from China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology,” and discovered that the Chinese had blocked all Internet links to reports on the new technology. This led Chen to write an urgent “night note” to U.S. Government officials. The note said, “The intranasal nano-vaccine can target broad-spectrum flu viruses and induces robust immune responses.”

The documents also include a picture of the Wuhan facility building taken by Dr. Chen.

The documents were obtained through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit for records of communications, contracts and agreements with the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (No. 1:21-cv-00696)). The lawsuit specifically sought records about NIH grants that benefitted the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The agency is only processing 300 pages records per month, which means it will take until the end of November for the records to be fully reviewed and released under FOIA.

ONTARIO, July 9, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – A former adviser and close friend to Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau is being called out for saying the recent rash of arson and vandalism attacks on mostly Catholic churches are “understandable.”

The comment was made by Gerald Butts, who was an advisor to Trudeau until he resigned in the wake of the SNC Lavalin scandal in 2019.

On Tuesday, he wrote on Twitter that “it may be understandable” that people want to burn down churches in light of the discovery of unmarked graves at now-closed indigenous residential schools once run by the Church.

The controversy began after Postmedia columnist Terry Glavin took issue with some on social media who have come to the defense of Harsha Walia, executive director of the British Columbia (B.C.) Civil Liberties Association (BCCLA).

Walia recently sparked online fury after openly calling for violence against Catholic parishes, writing on Twitter in response to news of Catholic churches being torched to “Burn it all down.”

Canadian lawyer Naomi Sayers came to the defense of Walia, saying publicly said that she would help “burn” down Catholic churches, as well as offering to help defend anyone caught attempting arson.

Butts first took a swipe at Glavin for calling our Walia’s remarks, to which Glavin replied, “So Gerry, defending the ‘burning churches is cool’ crowd?”

It was then that Butts replied with his “understandable” remark.

Glavin was not finished in calling out Butts, writing, “Failed Liberal brainiac Gerry Butts thinks burning indigenous churches ‘may be understandable.’ Wonder when he'll find it politically expedient to shrug off the burning of mosques and synagogues.”

This elicited a response from Butts, who again said it was “understandable” that churches are being burned.

“Look buddy, I'm not going to break the Crash Davis rule, and will ignore the personal insult. But I was an altar boy in a small Atlantic Canadian parish in the early 1980s. I can understand why someone would want to burn down a church, though I do not condone it,” wrote Butts.

Butt’s remarks come after Trudeau himself also said that it is that it is “understandable” that churches have been burned, while at the same time saying it is “unacceptable and wrong.”

Canadian doctors SLAM coordinated censorship of coronavirus vaccine information

(Natural News) Three Canadian medical professionals slammed the censorship of scientific inquiry and information about the risks of Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines. The doctors voiced out their concerns during a June 17 press conference at Ontario’s Parliament Hill, alongside Canadian Member of Parliament (MP) Derek Sloan. They accused the Canadian government of suppressing information about the harm caused by lockdown and the dangers of COVID-19 vaccines in children.

Back in April 2021, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) issued a statement aimed at physicians “using social media to spread blatant misinformation and undermine public health measures.” The April 30 statement said: “Physicians must not make comments or provide advice that encourages the public to act contrary to public health orders and recommendations.” Any doctor doing so may face both “an investigation by the CPSO and disciplinary action,” it added.

According to Sloan, the CPSO statement threatened doctors speaking out about the things they witnessed in their local hospitals and communities while working on the front lines. “The purpose of CPSO is to protect the public, not stifle legitimate scientific inquiry or dissent by professional doctors,” the Conservative MP said.

Sloan added that the attempt to intimidate doctors had the opposite effect – with doctors, nurses and other scientific medical experts flooding his office with calls. The medical workers who called his office said one thing in common: They were threatened and blocked from sharing their stories.

Dr. Byram Bridle faced the wrath of the mob for expressing a different opinion

Dr. Byram Bridle of the University of Guelph was among the medical professionals who faced suppression for asking legitimate scientific questions about COVID-19. He described his experience during the June 17 press conference. During a radio program, Bridle was asked if he believed COVID-19 vaccines were connected to heart inflammation in young males. He gave his honest opinion that there was a link and pointed to evidence supporting the claim.

Bridle continued that he faced attacks on all fronts within 24 hours. He was harassed daily via phone, email and social media. He added that a “libelous website” and a fake Twitter account were created to slander him.

Even worse, one of Bridle’s colleagues went as far as to release confidential medical information about his patients – a move he called “egregious.” Bridle added: “A practicing physician should know [that] they shouldn’t be releasing confidential medical information.”

Bridle later joined the Canadian COVID Care Alliance (CCCA) while searching for a place where he could speak freely. CCCA is composed of independent doctors, scientists and healthcare practitioners committed to informing the Canadian public through balanced, evidence-based information about COVID-19. Doctors stand up to medical tyranny

Aside from Bridle, two doctors expressed their concerns about censorship of opposing viewpoints. Dr. Don Welsh of Western University remarked: “Science has not been functioning for the last 15 months.” According to Welsh, the government’s lockdowns, masks, contact tracing and social distancing mandates have “created a remarkable list of hardships for Canadians that will take this country many years to recover from.”

Alleged former Canadian embassy bodyguard among Haitian president assassins

The assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse led to a manhunt for his killers, and resulted in the arrest of several suspects, one of whom purportedly served as a former bodyguard for the Canadian embassy in Haiti. The Associated Press reports named James Solages and Joseph Vincent, both of whom are U.S. citizens, as being among the 17 suspects arrested by police. The pair were reportedly detained on Thursday in the aftermath of the attack that left Moïse dead and his wife in serious condition.

Four other suspects were killed in the ensuing gun battle that took place following the assassination.

Haitian police officials describe the two individuals as part of a “highly trained and heavily armed group.” In addition to the two dozen or so individuals who were arrested or killed, at least two more suspects remain wanted.

According to the AP, the named individual, Solages, established a charity in Haiti in 2019 and is described as a “certified diplomatic agent” by the charity’s website. It also says that he previously worked as a bodyguard for the Canadian embassy in Haiti.

Solages and the other unnamed suspect were found hiding in bushes in Haiti’s capital of Port-au-Prince following the shooting, according to witnesses. Footage of the arrests was posted on social media.

Witnesses said two suspects were discovered Thursday hiding in bushes in Port-au-Prince by a crowd, some of whom grabbed the men by their shirts and pants, pushing them and occasionally slapping them.

Police arrested the men, who were sweating heavily and wearing clothes that seemed to be smeared with mud, an Associated Press journalist said. Officers put them in the back of a pickup truck and drove away as the crowd ran after them to the nearby police station.

Once there, some in the crowd chanted: “They killed the president! Give them to us. We’re going to burn them!”

According to the news agency, the angry mob set fire to several abandoned cars riddled with bullet holes that they believed belonged to the suspects. The cars were purported to not have any license plates.

In addition to the two Americans, several Colombian nationals were also arrested. Colombia’s government said that six members of the group, two of whom were killed, were retired members of Colombia’s army, but declined to provide any further details.

The head of Colombia’s national police force, Gen. Jorge Luis Vargas Valencia, says that he has been instructed by the high command of the Colombian military and police to lend his agency’s cooperation to Haiti in the investigation.

“A team was formed with the best investigators … they are going to send dates, flight times, financial information that is already being collected to be sent to Port-au-Prince,” Vargas said, per the AP.

“The pursuit of the mercenaries continues,” Léon Charles, director of Haiti’s National Police, told the press. “Their fate is fixed: They will fall in the fighting or will be arrested.”

Former Polish Roman Catholic church burns to ground northwest of Saskatoon

A former Polish Roman Catholic church 80 k.m. northwest of Saskatoon was destroyed on July 8 in a daytime fire.

According to the Star Phoenix, the local community tried to save the church after smoke was spotted around 12:15 p.m. yesterday but the old church was “reduced to ash.”

A plaque at the site of the fire identified the former church as the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church for Orolow and District. The church was in use from 1909 to 1985.

CTV reports that the RCMP have not yet confirmed if the fire is suspicious.

Politicians are well-known for speaking out of both sides of their mouths.

At no time did we see more of that behaviour than during the past 16 months of the COVID-19 pandemic when we expected our politicians to show some modicum of leadership.

Sadly, for the most part, that leadership has been lacking in so many areas.

Take the excruciatingly long lockdown in Ontario by a Premier who has spent far too much time listening to pollsters and public health officials (who want a COVID zero outcome) instead of actually sticking to the goalposts he himself set for reopening the economy.

Even though Ontario residents have far surpassed the vaccination goals set to move to Stage 3 of the reopening – with 78% with one dose and 46% fully vaccinated as of this past week – restaurants are being forced to wait one more week to permit indoor dining and retail to allow more shoppers in the door without the persistent line-ups outside.

In Toronto, Mayor John Tory crowed this past week that 50% of Torontonians are fully vaccinated.

This was shortly after he tweeted this seemingly tone-deaf message:

It’s tone-deaf because Toronto’s small businesses – forced by fearful politicians to lock down completely since last November — are barely hanging on by their fingernails, if at all. Ontario’s hair and nail salons finally re-opened to limited capacity on June 30 but Main St. retail is struggling to get up and running due to the 25% capacity restrictions.

The doors to gyms, spa services and indoor dining are still locked tight and heaven knows how indoor entertainment venues will manage to survive.

While Premier Doug Ford set the parameters and promptly ignored them, not a word of concern was ever uttered by Tory or other GTA municipal leaders that keeping us in the strictest lockdown in North America might not allow local businesses to “prosper and grow.”

Since we were not permitted to “shop locally” for so many months, we turned to online retailers and to stores south of the border as I did while in Florida – which were open for business throughout with the proper safety precautions (masking, hand sanitizing and physical distancing.)

We were dining indoors in Florida in April and visited both hair and nail salons more than once.

The world did not come to an end and the economy continued to operate on as many cylinders as it could. At least people still had jobs and there was an effort to keep things surviving, if not prospering.

Contrast that to Toronto, a city is hardly “sustainable” at this point. Take a stroll down any major street where shops and restaurants predominate and the For Lease signs stick out like a sore thumb in every third or fourth store window.

The business of the city’s downtown has been replaced in some areas by the drug-addicted and beggars, who have made their homes in Tent Cities in nearby parks. Continue…

The Trudeau government plans to launch a national ad campaign to lecture “non-racialized Canadian middle-aged adults” about systemic racism, as part of its anti-racism strategy.

The marketing campaign will cost taxpayers $3.3 million. The Canadian Heritage department says the project is set to launch later this year.

The government’s marketing campaign will target so-called “racism hot spots” in Canada, which include places such as Hamilton, Thunder Bay and the province of Quebec. The government says these locations are being targeted because of a high volume of police-reported hate crimes.

According to the government’s procurement notice, the campaign’s goal is to have more Canadians fighting systemic racism by raising awareness through marketing, social media and public engagement.

“In this COVID-19 context, Canadians are face-to-face with a unique opportunity to reimagine the social contract in ways that place anti-racism, equity, reconciliation and human rights at the heart of the recovery process,” the documents read.

The government’s marketing campaign comes in light of a recent poll by Angus Reid, which revealed that a clear majority of Canadians reject the notion that Canada is a racist country.

According to the report, 66% of Canadians disagree or strongly disagree with the statement that “Canada is a racist country.” Meanwhile, only 34% of Canadians either agreed or strongly agreed that Canada was racist.

Ever since the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, politicians across Canada have lectured Canadians about systemic racism.

In April, a True North review found that 15 of Canada’s largest cities and towns have made a declaration in some form or another that they are systemically racist institutions.

The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board is heavily invested in Chinese propaganda film companies, account disclosures reveal.

According to Blacklock’s Reporter, the Board currently holds $7 million in Chinese Communist Party (CCP) affiliated film studio stocks. The holdings include a $4 million share in China Film Co Ltd. which is a state monopoly.

The shares are being held by the Board despite past commitments to focus on human rights when it comes to investing Canadians’ money abroad.

“We believe that strong human rights practices contribute to long term value. Engaging with companies in our portfolio on this topic is therefore an important part of our strategy,” wrote the Board.

China Film Co Ltd. has produced various propaganda films praising the CCP and Chinese President Xi Jinping. One film titled Amazing China depicted “Xi’s vision of a globally resurgent nation.”

“This is our great homeland. This is the new era. This is the magnificent painting of the people’s livelihood,” a CCP review of the film wrote.

Additionally, the Board holds $3 million in Alibaba Pictures Group shares which produced pictures like the World War II film The Eight Hundred which claimed that the Second World War was won by “a Communist-led resistance.”

This is not the first time that the Board has been revealed to have large holdings with companies tied to the Chinese government.

In 2020 it was revealed that the Canada Pension Plan was one of the largest shareholders of Tencent Holdings Ltd. a Chinese company implicated in human rights abuses. A total of $3 billion in shares was held by the Board at the time.

Tencent Holdings Ltd. is the creator of WeChat, which actively blocked criticism of the Communist Party’s COVID-19 coverup and participated in the ongoing detention of Uyghur men, women and children.

In February, at the prompting of Conservative MPs, the House of Commons declared that the CCP’s mass human rights abuses against the Uyghurs and other minorities in Xinjiang was classified as a genocide.

Migrants Illegally Cross Canadian Border into U.S. by Driving Across Lawn

Swanton Sector Border Patrol agents spotted a group of foreign nationals who illegally crossed the Canadian border into Vermont by simply driving across the lawn of a public library. The migrants came to the U.S. from three different countries.

Swanton Sector Communications Center officials received information on July 4 about a vehicle that illegally entered the United States by simply driving across the lawn of the historic Haskell Free Library and Opera House, according to Swanton Sector officials. The human smuggler drove the vehicle through the lawn at a high rate of speed and nearly struck another vehicle while entering the roadway.

Border Patrol agents caught up with the suspect vehicle as it headed southbound on Interstate 91 near Derby Line, Vermont. The agents conducted a vehicle stop and found seven people.

The agents then conducted an immigration interview and determined all seven passengers had no documentation authorizing them to be in the United States. The agents reported that the migrants came to the U.S. from France, Romania, and Canada.

The agents expelled all seven to Canada under Title 42 Coronavirus protection protocols put in place under the Trump Administration by the CDC.

“Swanton Sector leverages technology and is aided by our community to sense incursions at our borders which only take seconds,” said Chief Patrol Agent Robert Garcia. “Due to a combination of surveillance technology, intelligence, and manpower, vigilant agents successfully intercepted the vehicle to prevent its furtherance into the United States.”

The Haskell Free Library and Opera House was built in 1904, directly astride the Canadian-United States border to serve the people of both countries, according to the organization’s website.

A similar incident occurred in March 2018 when two vehicles crossed the border from Canada across the lawn of the library, Breitbart Texas reported. The 11 occupants of the two vehicles also came to the U.S. from France and Romania.

UFC featherweight fighter T.J. Laramie was fined $6,200 upon returning to Canada at the Windsor/Detroit land border recently after flying back to Michigan from Nevada.

Laramie, who was training in Las Vegas, Nevada for an upcoming bout, flew to Detroit, Michigan to then take a cab across the U.S./Canada border to his home city of Windsor, Ontario.

Laramie and his girlfriend whom had previously taken PCR tests, did not receive their results in time, resulting in separate $6,200 charges for refusing to be bused to a quarantine hotel, nor opting to return to Michigan to take another test.

“It sounded to me like the Health Canada representative was simply trying to avoid more paperwork… she really wanted me to go back and pay for another test,” Laramie told Rebel News.

Laramie, who holds a work visa for the United States, was still denied an exemption that is granted to other professional athletes, as well amateur athletes who train for Olympic sports.

“The border agents tried to be as helpful as possible, but the health officials didn't seem to take it too seriously. I was never called during quarantine, no one checked in on me… it didn't seem like health was their actual priority,” Laramie continued.

“I was never too worried because I know about FightTheFines.com and I have been told by people who received quarantine fines that they hadn't gone through,” he explained.

Laramie hopes to return to the cage in fall 2021, and tells Rebel News he is excited to face an opponent in front of a crowd again. The 145-pound fighter thanked the UFC for how they've handled business during COVID.

“The UFC was the only sport going during lockdowns, I'm grateful for how they've handled everything. At the end of the day, they've done the best they can.”

39% of Canadians think immigration targets are too high

Approximately 39% of Canadians think that the Liberal government’s current immigration targets are too high.

According to a June 28 Angus Reid Institute poll, 22% of Canadians responded by saying that the number of people the Liberals want to immigrate to Canada was “far too many” and that the “number should be way lower.” Meanwhile, an additional 17% called the target “too many.”

On the other hand, 34% of Canadians said they were content with the targets and called it “about right.” Meanwhile, only 13% want to raise immigration levels, with 8% claiming that current targets were “too few” and 5% responding that “the number should be way higher.”

When broken down regionally, opposition to increased immigration was the highest in Saskatchewan where 54% of people wanting immigration levels to be lowered and in Alberta where 50% of people polled responded the same.

Substantial levels of people in Ontario and BC also wanted to lower immigration levels with 39% and 35% respectively of people supporting a reduction.

Instead of responding to popular support for lower immigration targets, the Trudeau Liberals have stated that they intend to follow through with plans to ramp up Canada’s immigration levels to historic highs.

In March, Liberal Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino told a House of Commons immigration committee that the federal government hopes to increase Canada’s immigration targets by 117%.

The current Liberal targets are 401,000 new immigrants for the year 2021, which is a significant increase from 2020 when Canada welcomed 184,370 new immigrants.

Other studies including one commissioned by the Department of Immigration also found that most Canadians do not agree with the current targets.

In that survey, out of 1,500 people polled, 57% said Canada should limit the number of immigrants coming to the country.

Similarly, a survey commissioned by True North last year found that 76% of Canadians wanted a total pause on immigration into Canada until the COVID-19 threat has passed and until Canada’s economy has fully recovered.

"Micro-Studio" Listed In Vancouver Is A Bathroom With Bed

Vancouver's housing market is one of the least affordable in North America. A recent Craigslist ad for a "micro-studio" illustrated that as a bed was placed in the bathroom and listed for $680 per month.

Local news website "Vancouver Is Awesome," says the micro-studio is located in the west end of town and boasted in the listing that it's the "ideal" space for a single person looking to live downtown at an affordable price, "who does not need much space."

The space, all 160 sq. ft of it, is located on Barclay and Bute Streets for $680 per month. The city of Vancouver defines a micro-dwelling at a minimum of 250 sq. ft.

The listing was recently removed from Craigslist, possibly because it violated Vancouver micro-dwellings guidelines that specify bathrooms must be separated from the central unit.

After a year of plunging rental prices because of the virus pandemic, the Canadian rental market is quickly recovering. Prices are still the highest across Canada and all of North America.

With normalcy returning to Vancouver, low-interest rates via the Bank of Canada sparked a speculative bubble in real estate that is further detached from fundamentals than ever before.

Investors and anyone else are locked in fierce bidding wars, sending prices to astronomical levels. The housing bubble continues to fuel higher rent prices making the metro area one of the most unaffordable areas to live and this may explain why someone listed a bathroom with a bed for $650 per month.

What If The Next Major Cyberattack Targeted The Internet?

Over the past few months I have been writing analysis on a planned crisis war game organized by the World Economic Forum called “Cyberpolygon.” The event will be held this week on July 9th, and it’s allegedly designed to simulate a massive cyberattack that somehow disrupts the global supply chain, or at the very least disrupts the supply chain of multiple large economies.

Why am I so interested in this war game? Well, many of my readers will recall that the last major simulation the WEF and the Bill And Melinda Gates Foundation held was Event 201, a global pandemic exercise which portrayed a coronavirus outbreak spread by animal carriers to humans killing millions of people while forcing the shutdown of multiple first-world economies. Event 201 was scheduled for October 2019 – two months later the exact pandemic scenario they simulated happened in real life, save a few minor details.

Klaus Schwab, the head of the WEF, was very quick to exploit the COVID-19 outbreak as a rationale for the “Great Reset” agenda: A socialist reconstruction of the world’s financial system and political structure that globalists have been clamoring for since at least 2014. Truly, the biggest beneficiaries of the pandemic were the same people that simulated the outbreak only months beforehand during Event 201.

So, of course many people are beginning to wonder if lightning will strike twice for the globalists at the WEF. Will there be a large scale cyberattack that brings down the international supply chain within the next few months? Will there be another miraculous coincidence that destabilizes the world’s trade systems and creates social strife?

Cyber-terrorism is already disrupting the economy

There have already been a few disturbing near-crisis cyberattacks in the past month.

The Colonial Pipeline attack as well as the JBS meat packing attack both had the potential to cause severe supply chain disruptions. The pipeline attack in particular could have created a panic environment had it continued for any longer than a week. Imagine if there was no gasoline to fuel the freight trucks that transport the majority of goods and raw materials across the US for half a month or more? It would be a nightmare, as a majority of Americans have no preparedness supplies and are stocked with no more than a week’s worth of necessities.

That said, I have been considering the adaptability of western supply chains to a cyber event and I’m not so sure another pipeline attack or a similar sabotage would actually harm us for very long. If the goal of the attackers was to create maximum damage, then another target would have to be found. I have been pondering this question for a while now, and it finally dawned on me that the supply chain does not need to be attacked directly in order to break it.

Recently when Klaus Schwab commented on the coming Cyberpolygon simulation, he stated that the next cyberattack would be like a “cyber pandemic” far worse in destructive scale when compared to covid. I realized that the next crisis may not need to involve resource manufacturers or suppliers; rather, what if the next cyberattack was on the internet itself?

Let me explain – In June of this year there was an internet outage event that led to large swaths of the web going dark, including a number of mainstream news sites, Amazon, eBay, Twitch, Reddit and a host of government websites went down. All this happened when content delivery network (CDN) company Fastly experienced a bug. Although Amazon had its website back online within 20 minutes, the brief outage cost the company over $5.5 million in sales (and that’s just one website!).

Fastly identified and fixed the problem within two hours, and continues to claim the outage had nothing to do with a cyberattack. However, it did reveal a huge vulnerability for the internet (what von Clausewitz would’ve called a schwerpunkt). A large portion of the web is dependent on only three CDN companies, including Fastly.

Here is what concerns me: If there was a cyberattack on such weak points in the web, and the attack involved a malicious worm or other highly infectious weapon, then Klaus Schwab could very well get his “cyber pandemic.”

The internet plays a much bigger role in daily life than you might think.

For more than a decade, Joel Moskowitz, a researcher in the School of Public Health at UC Berkeley and director of Berkeley’s Center for Family and Community Health, has been on a quest to prove that radiation from cellphones is unsafe. But, he said, most people don’t want to hear it.

“People are addicted to their smartphones,” said Moskowitz. “We use them for everything now, and, in many ways, we need them to function in our daily lives. I think the idea that they’re potentially harming our health is too much for some people.”

Since cellphones first came onto the market in 1983, they have gone from clunky devices with bad reception to today’s sleek, multifunction smartphones. And although cellphones are now used by nearly all American adults, considerable research suggests that long-term use poses health risks from the radiation they emit, said Moskowitz.

“Cellphones, cell towers and other wireless devices are regulated by most governments,” said Moskowitz. “Our government, however, stopped funding research on the health effects of radiofrequency radiation in the 1990s.”

Since then, he said, research has shown significant adverse biologic and health effects — including brain cancer — associated with the use of cellphones and other wireless devices.

Berkeley News: I first heard you speak about the health risks of cellphone radiation at Berkeley in 2019, but you’ve been doing this research since 2009. What led you to pursue this research?

Joel Moskowitz: I got into this field by accident, actually. During the past 40 years, the bulk of my research has been focused on tobacco-related disease prevention. I first became interested in cellphone radiation in 2008, when Dr. Seung-Kwon Myung, a physician scientist with the National Cancer Center of South Korea, came to spend a year at the Center for Family and Community Health. He was involved in our smoking cessation projects, and we worked with him and his colleagues on two reviews of the literature, one of which addressed the tumor risk from cellphone use.

At that time, I was skeptical that cellphone radiation could be harmful. However, since I was dubious that cellphone radiation could cause cancer, I immersed myself in the literature regarding the biological effects of low-intensity microwave radiation, emitted by cellphones and other wireless devices.

After reading many animal toxicology studies that found that this radiation could increase oxidative stress — free radicals, stress proteins and DNA damage — I became increasingly convinced that what we were observing in our review of human studies was indeed a real risk.

Zelenko has been a family physician for two decades in upstate New York. COVID-19 swept through that area at the advent of the coronavirus outbreak in March 2020. Of the more severe cases of the Wuhan coronavirus at that time, most patients were put on respirators, but “80 to 90 percent of people on a respirator were dying, so that wasn’t a very good treatment model,” Zelenko noted.

From 3,000 COVID-positive patients under his care, Zelenko identified 1,000 as “high risk” with whom his HCQ- and zinc-based medical intervention “reduced the death rate from 7.5 percent, to less than half a percent.”

“That is an 84 percent reduction in hospitalization and death.”

“Out of the 600,000 dead Americans that we have, we could have prevented 510,000 from going to the hospital and dying.”

Yet this protocol hasn’t been widely adopted by the medical community. Many Americans who caught the coronavirus found their doctors wouldn’t prescribe Hydroxychloroquine, or pharmacists wouldn’t fill prescriptions for it.

CRANBROOK, British Columbia, July 9, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) - After initial reports alleged finding “unmarked graves,” a former British Columbia chief has revealed that the existence of these graves is common knowledge, as they are part of an actively-used graveyard.

This week, mainstream media reported that ground-penetrating radar discovered 182 unmarked graves at the site of the former Kootenay Residential School at St. Eugene Mission just outside Cranbrook, B.C.

Former chief of the St Mary’s Indian Band and former student of this school, Sophie Pierre, told Global News that this was not news to the community. “There’s no discovery, we knew it was there, it’s a graveyard,” Pierre said. “The fact there are graves inside a graveyard shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.”

She explained that the graves had been marked with wooden crosses which had either been burned or deteriorated over time. Currently, the use of wooden markers is still common practice among many Indigenous communities across Canada.

Additionally, Pierre revealed that the graves may contain the bodies of children from the residential schools; however, this is not confirmed. “There could very well be, and in good likelihood, some children that were in the residential school that died here because of [tuberculosis] or other diseases, and were buried there,” Pierre said. “But it’s a graveyard.”

“To just assume that every unmarked grave inside a graveyard is already tied to a residential school, we’ve got to be a little bit more respectful of our people who are buried in our graveyards,” Pierre continued.

This graveyard is still being actively used. “We just buried one of our people there last month,” she said. “Anyone who died in my community would be buried there.”

Most mainstream media reports blame the Catholic Church, neglecting to mention the excessively high rates of tuberculosis among Indigenous children and the substantial lack of proper financial support from the Canadian government, which forced Indigenous children into those schools in the first place.

Once the government mandated attendance at the schools in the 1920s, children were forcibly removed from their families and parents threatened with prison if they did not comply. Upon arrival at school, children rarely saw their families, with many disappearing or never seeing their families again.

Catholic author Michael O’Brien, who attended residential schools, gave testimony to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. He previously told LifeSiteNews that the chief underlying issue in the residential school saga was the institutional abuse of children being removed from their families by the state authorities, and then taken to the schools, noting the “long-term psychological and social effects of this.”

An important element to the residential school narrative, often ignored by the mainstream media, is that, citing financial costs, the Department of Indian Affairs refused to ship home the bodies of children who died at the government-mandated schools, meaning that they had to be buried there.

Additionally, mortality rates for children under the age of five had been recorded as 296.75 deaths per 1,000 births in 1900. That figure only dropped beneath 100 deaths per 1,000 births in 1935, with high rates of child mortality consistently seen from 1910 through 1920.

Indeed, the First Nations people have historically been noted to be less resilient against infectious diseases, such as influenza epidemics, measles, and smallpox.

As media outlets publish allegations and grossly overexaggerated accounts, many Catholic churches are being burned to the ground while others are vandalized. Psaki insisted in Friday's briefing that the anonymity of the purchasers and the amounts spent would guarantee transparency throughout the transactions.

“Three Percenters have been linked to bomb plots targeting United States federal government buildings and Muslim communities,” the Canadian government said about the group, pointing out the attempted kidnapping of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer in 2020, along with a Nov. 2015 incident in which a member of the group was convicted of shooting Black Lives Matter protesters in Minneapolis. Bill Blair, Canada’s minister for public safety and emergency preparedness suggested in the announcement that the decision was related to the storming of the U.S. Capitol that took place on Jan. 6.

“Recent events should remove any doubts about the serious threat posed by ideologically motivated violent extremism,” Blair said. “Intolerance and hate have no place in our society and the Government of Canada will continue to do all we can to keep Canadians safe from all threats, including terrorism and violent extremism.” Last month, the U.S. Department of Justice charged six men who self-identified as members of Three Percenters with conspiracy charges connected to the Jan. 6 Capitol storming.

In July 2020, Congress described Three Percenters as “a hybrid between a private paramilitary militia network and a gun club,” noting that because the group had no central leadership or structure, it was not a “significant force.”

Charging documents from January called the group a “radical militia group” and “domestic militia … loosely allied with the Oath Keepers, another anti-government militia.”

The Canadian government stated that adding groups to the terrorist list requires reasonable grounds to believe the group has knowingly carried out, attempted to carry out, participated in, or facilitated terrorist activity, or knowingly acted on behalf or in association with such an entity.

The group’s assets can now be frozen by banks, financial institutions, and is a crime for Canadians to knowingly deal with assets of the entity. As a result of the groups listing on the terrorist list, those affiliated with the group may be denied entry into Canada.

It was a precursor to the Holocaust. … Obviously, we are not that far gone yet. But what do you call it when literally dozens of churches are being systemically vandalized, torched?”

Majority of Canadians want US border restrictions lifted this year: survey

Canadians eager to travel to the United States are fed up with the government’s travel restrictions.

According to a new survey by Nanos Research, 63% of Canadians believe all restrictions on travel across the Canada-US border should be lifted before the end of the year.

When asked what the timeline should be for ending the restrictions, 34% said this fall, 15% said immediately and 14% said this summer. Only 16% of respondents believe the restrictions should be lifted next year.

When broken down regionally, Canadians from the Prairies were more likely to say the travel rules should be eliminated immediately, with 28% of respondents saying they were comfortable with the border reopening tomorrow.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the government is currently looking at what rules could be eased “in the coming weeks” to allow fully-vaccinated international travellers cross the border. For unvaccinated tourists, Trudeau says it’s going to be “quite a while” before Canada is ready for them.

“We will continue the reopening of our borders, but we will do it in a way that ensures the ongoing safety of all Canadians,” he said.

Restrictions on travel across the Canada-US border have been in place since March 2020. The government has extended the restrictions on a monthly basis ever since.

In recent weeks, a number of prominent US officials have called for an end to the border closure.

In June, US Congressman Brian Higgins (NY-D) had some harsh words for the Trudeau government when he learned the Canada-US border would remain closed for another month.

“There’s no other way to say: another month’s delay is bulls–t,” tweeted the Congressman.

New York Congresswoman and GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik also called for the Canada-US border to begin reopening in June.

In a letter penned to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Stefanik wrote that Canada’s border restrictions have been largely unfair to Americans, noting that the US allows Canadians much more freedom.

US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer also argued for the Canada-US border to reopen as residents of both countries have suffered from the closure for too long.

Researchers analyzed records from Curative, a clinical laboratory based in San Dimas that specializes in COVID-19 testing and has during the pandemic been conducting routine workforce screening. None of the 254 employees who had COVID-19 and recovered became re-infected, while four of the 739 who were fully vaccinated contracted the disease.

“The big takeaway was that if you are not vaccinated, and were not previously infected, one, you have a very high risk getting infected—24 percent of employees over a year tested positive. However, on the flip side, if you were vaccinated or previously infected your risk was near zero,” Dr. Jeffrey Klausner, clinical professor of preventive medicine and medicine at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine, told The Epoch Times.

Klausner and Dr. Noah Kojima of the University of California, Los Angeles’ Department of Medicine joined with Curative workers to analyze the records. They released a pre-print, or pre-peer reviewed version of the study online this week.

Researchers found that of the 4,313 employees who were not previously infected or fully vaccinated, 254 became infected.

The findings add to the growing body of research that indicates people who had COVID-19 and recovered enjoy a similar level of protection as those who have gotten a vaccine, following a study in the United Kingdom and one by Cleveland Clinic researchers.

“It should give confidence to people who have recovered that they are at very low risk for repeat infection and some experts including myself believe that protection is equal to vaccination,” Klausner told The Epoch Times.

“And we’re trying to update policy such that people who have recovered have the same privileges and access as people who are vaccinated.”

According to federal guidance, vaccines should be administered to people irrespective of whether they’ve had COVID-19 in the past.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has said officials are aware of evidence suggesting natural immunity among those who have been infected but has not altered its recommendations to incorporate that evidence.

“We do not comment on non-CDC authored papers. We continually evaluate the science that leads to our guidance, and if it needs to be changed, we will be base that on our own research and studies,” a spokesman told The Epoch Times in an email last month.

The limitations of the new study, which has been submitted to a journal and is being peer reviewed, include the possibility employees could have tested positive for COVID-19 outside of the routine screening, or employee testing program.

The group plans to conduct more analysis on the Curative data.

Dr. David Boulware, professor of medicine at the University of Minnesota, told The Epoch Times via email that the study “adds to the body of literature that generally healthy adults <65 years old with prior COVID-19 infection are generally not at risk of recurrent SARS-CoV-2 infection in short term after initial symptomatic infection.”

SARS-CoV-2 is another name for the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, which causes COVID-19.

Boulware, who was not involved in the research, noted that the median age of those tested was 29 years old and very likely included few people 65 years old or older, or many people without immune system problems.

“Thus, this may not apply to elderly persons or persons with substantial co-morbidities—but does likely apply to adults 18-65 years of age without major medical problems,” he said, adding that because the follow-up time period of those studied was relatively short, the paper does not give insight into longer-term protection.

“Long term protection is more unknown, which is why persons with prior infection still are recommended to receive at least 1 vaccine dose, but there is not any urgency to receive the vaccine (and waiting ~3 months likely would be fine),” he said.

Klausner said that besides bolstering the idea of natural immunity, the study shows that vaccination in the workplace is important.

“We need to continue to promote workplace vaccination requirements. Businesses have the authority and have the ability and have the legal power to require employees get vaccinated,” he said. “And I think this did the support that benefits of that.”

I would add that I hear increasingly signs of black-pilling from my readers. People are extremely frustrated and want some "action" or a plan to take place. I offer my best shot, at least at this moment.

My response is to take individual steps to live good, to live proper and the right way. Build your own civilization and culture as an individual or some like-minded group. Tune out the banal and evil, and close your pocketbook to them. That's the fundamentals of it. That is the revolutionary act. I've noticed smarter people than I are saying the same.

If you can convince some others to engage in self-reconstruction in a way that breaks away from the dominant discordian and satanic culture, so much the better.

But recognize that many, if not most, people are lost causes and will frustrate you and your energy. Disconnect from them and do so consciously. When I quit smoking forever in my twenties, I had to get rid of two friends who were bad influences. It is the same with bad culture.

Ultimately, when contrasted with the prevailing culture of modernity, a critical mass of decent people can begin to agree on what it is they seek and most resonate with, which direction they consider ideal, then the act of moving forward down that path becomes a more firmly defined straight line.

ACTION

The banal and evil are easy to identify. Do more than pan it. Close your pocketbook to it. Boycott it. Support with words, your presence and money the Revived Culture and Separation Civilization. This is like divorce from a bad, abusive marriage. It is pretty fundamental. Find high culture that you like and appreciate.

Otto Spengler said there are three stages in a civilization: the phase of myths, the dramatic phase and the cynical phase. We are in the cynical phase, and irony is the last mechanism of defence when culture is shattered. This is normal and shouldn't be dismissed out of hand.

This whole site is full of irony. But when people cast out the banal culture and replace it with the decent, we shall dream again. However, we can't will myths into being within a spiritually bankrupt, decadent population. That's not how this works. We can only break away.

Asha Logos is very useful as he uses music and images that allow you to visualize what the breakaway and revived culture could look like and be like. He is skillful with the use of analogies. Experts say over a billion mussels, clams, starfish, anemone and crabs were literally cooked to death during the heat wave.

Researchers in Canada are reporting that over 1 billion marine animals on Canada’s Pacific coast are likely to have died in last week’s record-shattering heat wave, showing how ecosystems not accustomed to such high temperatures are especially vulnerable to changing conditions.

The deadly “heat dome” that settled over British Columbia and the U.S. Pacific Northwest for five days is believed to have killed at least 500 people in Canada, and pushed temperatures to extreme temperatures of 104F (40C), sparking wildfires that are burning across the Canadian province.

Multiple experts are now saying that the heat wave also took a horrifying toll on marine life, leaving “postapocalyptic” scenes in its wake.

Marine biologist Christopher Harley of the University of British Columbia knew, when he saw the harrowing weather forecasts, that when the tide dropped the sweltering conditions would absolutely fry the mussels, barnacles and sea stars that were exposed.

When the heatwave actually struck, he was devastated by the stench of decay and the vast death toll sustained by the local ecosystem.

“The shore doesn’t usually crunch when you walk on it,” he told The Guardian. “But there were so many empty mussel shells lying everywhere that you just couldn’t avoid stepping on dead animals while walking around.”

Mussels and barnacles can typical deal with harsh temperatures as high as 113F for a few hours – but any more than that is simply not survivable.

Harley told the New York Times that the loss of mussels likely reaches into the hundreds of millions.

However, when factoring in the death of other marine animals that once lived on the shore and resided on the mussel beds – such as hermit crabs and their crustacean relatives, worms, sea cucumbers and other creatures – the number could quite easily exceed one billion.

“It just feels like one of those postapocalyptic movies,” Harley said.

Harley’s colleagues have also reported on dead sea anemones, rock fish and oysters in the region.

In neighboring Alberta, a massive number of fish also washed up on the shores, likely due to the heat wave.

Fortunately, mussels are able to regenerate over about two years. Starfish and clams, however, live for decades and reproduce much more slowly.

The domino effect of such a vast loss of marine life could be felt on other animals in the ecosystem such as sea ducks, a migratory bird that feeds on mussels in the winter before migrating to the Arctic.

The horrific loss shows that the pace of warming climate conditions is likely outstripping the ability of creatures simply to survive – a prospect that makes Harley feel saddened, but he is still trying to find hope.

“A lot of species are not going to be able to keep up with the pace of change,” he said. “Ecosystems are going to change in ways that are really difficult to predict. We don’t know where the tipping points are.”

Former Prime Minister Stephen Harper believes the world should shun the Iranian regime’s incoming president.

Speaking at a virtual sitting of the Free Iran World Summit, Harper said Ebrahim Raisi’s election is further evidence of the regime’s disregard for human rights.

“Ebrahim Raisi is a criminal, guilty of crimes against humanity. He is a living symbol of the folly of trying to appease (Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s) regime,” Harper said.

The former Prime Minister believes the global community should be wary about any communication with the regime under Raisi’s leadership.

“Shame on any government in the world that would sit down and try to negotiate anything with an administration led by Ebrahim Raisi.”

In his speech, Harper said he believes the election of Raisi will embolden extremist forces and is an attempt to revive the 2015 nuclear deal.

“All pretenses of a so-called moderate candidacy were dispensed with,” said Harper. “The government I led was never fooled by the supposed existence of a phantom moderate faction.”

While the Iranian nuclear deal was scrapped by former US President Donald Trump, the Biden administration has made a return to the deal one of his top foreign policy priorities.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has indicated in the past that his government would support the controversial agreement.

Canada’s 22nd prime minister joins a number of experts who are sounding the alarm about Iran’s new leader.

In June, True North’s Candice Malcolm wrote that Iran elected a mass murderer as its President, citing Raisi’s position within the government’s Death Commission in 1988 led to the massacre of thousands of political prisoners.

“Most officials in the Iranian regime have blood on their hands. Iran operates a strict Islamist theocracy that routinely puts to death political dissidents, gay men and women, religious minorities, peaceful protesters and even teenagers,” Malcolm wrote.

“But few Iranian officials have as much blood on their hands as Raisi.”

Ami Horowitz put together a documentary on BLM. He explains that BLM at the beginning was almost universally backed (by everyone but conservatives in America). He goes on to document how the movement was much more than what it claimed it was. It’s mostly led by Marxists and those against the free market system.

We documented in June the relationship BLM had with the Democrat Party. Donations were flowing to BLM and into the Democrats’ coffers.

The Democrats and the current government in control back BLM but are against the average American who peacefully protests for a free and fair election.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is fighting back against Transgender activism: Orbán said the European Parliament (EP) and the European Commission (EC) are trying to get Hungary to allow LGBTQ activists into its kindergartens and schools, but Hungary won’t allow this.

The prime minister told reporters in Belgrade that Wednesday’s European Parliament plenary debate on Hungary’s new child protection law had been useful because it clearly revealed the positions. The EP and the EC want LGBTQ activists and organizations to gain entry to schools and kindergartens but “Hungary does not want this”. PM Orbán said the debate concerns who should decide about how to raise children, he added.

PM Orbán said the European basic treaties clearly show that it is an issue that belongs in national authority, adding that “Brussels bureaucrats have no business here”. “No matter what they’ll do, we will not allow LGBTQ activists to enter our kindergartens and schools,” Orbán said.

Gergely Gulyás, the head of the Prime Minister’s Office, said earlier that Hungary rejected the whole debate which was trying to address the law as “one harming basic human rights rather than as a child protection measure”. “We are not advising anyone above 18 on how to live their lives. The Hungarian Constitution ensures human dignity to everyone … regardless of how they live.

Not Making Headlines: New Study Shows Children in UK Have 99.995% Chance of Surviving COVID-19

Maybe we’d trust them more if they stopped all the lying.

Dr. Fauci, the CDC and the Biden administration continue to push for parents to get their children vaccinated for the coronavirus.

This is despite the fact that children have a 99.995% chance of surviving the virus.

Stanford Professor of Medicine Dr. Jay Bhattacharya joined Cortez and Pelligrino on Friday night to discuss the Biden administration’s insistence to vaccinate every child in the US for the dangerous and unpredictable COVID-19 vaccine.

During the discussion, Steve Cortez brought up a recent study in the UK that found that only 6 children out of the nearly half a million COVID infections died from the disease. 19 other deaths were children with pre-existing conditions.

And yet the CDC and Biden administration insist on vaccinating children from a disease to them that is less lethal than the flu or drowning.

This is a stunning study.

Why would authorities push facemasks and vaccines on children for the coronavirus when it is next to impossible for kids to die from this disease?

The Dollar's Final Crash

Was Richard Nixon a real gold friend who understood the futility of tying a weakening dollar to gold which is the only currency that has survived in history?

So was Nixon actually the instigator of the movement to FreeGold?

I doubt it. He was just another desperate leader who was running out of real money and needed to create unlimited amounts of fiat money. Although his fatal decision to close the gold window was clearly the beginning of the end of the current monetary system.

But although the decision was fatal, Nixon was clearly not personally responsible. What the world saw in August 1971 was just another desperate leader who realised that he couldn’t stick to the monetary or fiscal disciplines necessary to maintain a sound economy and a sound currency.

In history, Nixon should be seen as the rule rather than the exception. Since every currency has been slaughtered throughout history, one particular leader will also be required to be the executor.

So in 1971, history had elected Tricky Dick to be the inevitable destroyer of the dollar.

I don’t quite know what the definition is of “suspend temporarily” but 50 years seems to be pushing the limit!

In fact, gold should not be tied to any currency. Gold has reigned supreme for 5,000 years whilst all its competitors in the form of fiat money have collapsed. Nixon probably understood this. The world’s current reserve currency could obviously not be shackled any more by gold. Because gold ignores the follies of megalomaniac sovereign leaders who want to cling on to power at any cost.

That is why governments have a Love – Hate relationship with gold.

ON THE ONE HAND – GOVERNMENTS LOVE GOLD

On the one hand gold signifies stability, wealth and the only currency that has survived in history and maintained its purchasing power. That is why governments around the world allegedly hold 34,000 tonnes of it currently valued at $2 trillion.

As Greenspan said a few years ago:

“If it (gold) is worthless and meaningless, why is everybody (central banks) still holding it?”

ON THE OTHER HAND – GOVERNMENTS HATE GOLD

On the other hand governments hate gold since it reveals their total mismanagement of the economy.

Because as soon as they run out of money, tying the currency to gold creates an extremely inconvenient road block that must be eliminated.

As gold is an inconvenient truth sayer, tying it to the currency prevents governments from holding on to power. So out with gold and sound money and in with credit expansion and fake money that temporarily buys votes.

Printing money and buying votes is not just a frivolous folly, but also an extremely costly exercise that without fail leads to the collapse of the economy and the currency.

DOLLAR AND OTHER CURRENCIES CRASHING INTO THE ABYSS

Just look at the picture below showing the crash of the dollar from the peak of the Matterhorn.

So far it is a “mere” 98% fall since 1971. But that is just the beginning. The next move of all the currencies will shock the world as they crash into the abyss.

The dollar and all currencies are likely to fall by another 98%+ from here as the world central banks desperately attempt to save the financial system.

Whether that means gold at $1,900 or $19,000 or much, much higher is all a function on the final debasement of the currencies rather than the rise of gold.

As China celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of its Communist Party last week, the Pew Research Center released a new report showing that unfavorable views of Beijing have reached historic highs in 17 advanced economies.

As Statista's Niall McCarty notes, in most places, large majorities of the public also agreed that China is not respecting the personal freedoms of its people.

Views of China are broadly negative across most of the world's advanced economies including approximately three-quarters of respondents in Japan, Sweden, Australia, South Korea and the United States. While overall views did not change significantly in most countries, they did rise in Austria, Canada, Sweden and the United Kingdom as a result of bilateral tensions and the feeling that the pandemic was badly handled.

Eight-in-ten or more respondents said that the Chinese government does not respect the personal freedoms of its people and that view is at record highs in nearly every market surveyed. In a further sign of negativity to towards Beijing, Pew found that few countries have confidence in Xi Jinping doing the right thing regarding world affairs while there is a widespread preference for closer economic ties with the U.S. rather than China.

WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM ANNOUNCES CREATION OF ORWELLIAN ‘GLOBAL COALITION FOR DIGITAL SAFETY’

The World Economic Forum announced June 29 it will initiate a new “public-private partnership” with Big Tech and governments around the world to identify and uproot all opinions from the Internet that it considers “harmful.”

It made a big splash last year with its highly touted “Great Reset,” which promises to use the pandemic as an “opportunity” to crash the world’s dollar-based, capitalist economic system and “build back better” under a more socialist and globally integrated system that mirrors the United Nations Agenda 2030 goals for Sustainable Development.

Any politician you hear using the term “build back better” [Biden-Harris-Trudeau-Johnson repeat this mantra daily] you know has drunk the poisonous Kool-Aid of the World Economic Forum and its founder, Klaus Schwab [pictured below].

Schwab’s latest venture is the so-called “Global Coalition for Digital Safety” that consists of execs from Big Tech and government officials with the goal of creating a “global framework” for regulating speech on the Internet, wiping it of so-called “harmful content.”

[I could not help but think of the Committee of Public Safety that conducted the reign of terror during the French Revolution.]

And who gets to define what’s “harmful”? Why, the global coalition set up by the elitist WEF of course!

The “harmful” content targeted by this Global Coalition for Digital Safety you can bet will be tailor made to entrap those who stand for limited government, traditional values and individual freedom. Those of us who still believe in such things will not be included in the WEF’s definition of “inclusive,” “equality” or “diversity.”

Grade 9 students in Ontario will soon be learning a “decolonial” and “anti-racist” approach to mathematics.

According to documents posted on the education ministry’s website, a new approach to math is needed to combat the field’s inherent white supremacy.

“Mathematics has been used to normalize racism and marginalization of non-Eurocentric mathematical knowledges, and a decolonial, anti-racist approach to mathematics education makes visible its historical roots and social constructions,” the document reads.

“The Ontario Grade 9 mathematics curriculum emphasizes the need to recognize and challenge systems of power and privilege, both inside and outside the classroom, in order to eliminate systemic barriers and to serve students belonging to groups that have been historically disadvantaged and underserved in mathematics education.”

Changes to Ontario’s math curriculum were announced last year by Education Minister Stephen Lecce.

The government previously said the new curriculum will bring early math streaming to an end, a practice that the government claims created barriers for racialized and marginalized groups.

Under the province’s proposed curriculum, however, teachers will be instructed “to create anti-racist, anti-discriminatory learning environments” and “infuse Indigenous knowledges and perspectives meaningfully and authentically into the mathematics program.”

The education minister’s spokesperson Caitlin Clark told The Toronto Sun that the new curriculum reflects a changing world.

“We are taking action to ensure all children, especially those facing barriers to success, have meaningful pathways to quality learning, graduation, access to post-secondary education and good-paying jobs,” she said.

The Trudeau government is to blame for Canada’s sluggish job numbers in June, according to Conservative MP Pierre Poilievre.

On Friday, Poilievre held a press conference to respond to the latest unemployment numbers. Statistics Canada revealed that the country lost 33,000 full-time positions in the month of June despite provinces reopening their economies and lifting or easing public health restrictions.

“This is a massive surprise. We thought the economy was reopened. It was assumed there would be a massive surge in job gains, but in fact 33,000 Canadians lost their full-time jobs,” Poilievre said.

Since the early months of the pandemic, the Conservatives have been sounding the alarm on Trudeau’s unprecedented spending but to no avail.

Canada’s federal debt surpassed $1 trillion dollars this year following a frenzy of pandemic spending by the ruling Liberal government. Further, in its latest budget, the government revealed a whopping deficit of $354 billion with no plan to pay down the debt and balance the books.

“This is a disastrous economic record – one we warned about and the government ignored our warnings, and now Canadians are suffering the consequences for their failures,” Poilievre said.

Poilievre pointed the finger at the Trudeau government for Canada’s poor economic performance last month.

“When it comes to overall employment, the government fell 340,000 jobs short of its budget promise to regain all of the lost jobs from the pandemic,” the Conservative MP said.

“So in other words, they broke their promise. We’re actually losing full-time jobs, we have the second-highest unemployment in the G7, the biggest deficit in the G20 as a share of our GDP, housing prices are up 30% in one year making homeownership impossible for most Canadians and inflation is at a 10-year-high.”

President Miguel Diaz-Canel, who also heads the Communist Party, blamed the United States for the unrest in a nationally televised speech on Sunday afternoon.

The protests broke out in San Antonio de los Banos municipality in Artemisa Province, bordering Havana, with video on social media showing hundreds of residents chanting anti-government slogans and demanding everything from coronavirus vaccines to an end of daily blackouts.

“I just walked through town looking to buy some food and there were lots of people there, some with signs, protesting,” local resident Claris Ramirez said by phone.

“They are protesting blackouts, that there is no medicine,” she added.

“They are protesting the crisis, that there is no food or medicine, that you have to buy everything at the foreign currency stores, and on and on the list goes,” Claudia Perez said.

The move towards globalism is marching full steam ahead.

On Saturday, finance ministers from the world’s 20 largest economies met in Venice and announced that they had agreed to a “more stable and fairer international tax architecture.” The announcement comes just a week after 130 countries agreed to a proposal for a worldwide minimum tax, which Biden has been backing since taking office.

Biden’s administration and the anti-American Globalists are rejoicing. Janet Yellen, Secretary of the Treasury, praised the efforts in Venice. The German finance minister said “it will be implemented and we will have built this international taxation system for the 21st century.” France’s finance minister added “there is no turning back.”

The unprecedented plan, if enacted, would drastically reshape the tax landscape around the world, especially in the US. It would establish a global 15% minimum tax. Proponents of the plan say that it will limit large corporations saving billions of dollars by shifting profits into tax havens. This, coupled with Biden’s plan to pass competition-crushing corporate tax increases reflects the desire of foreign nations to profit off of American companies for operating in their countries.

The implementation of the global tax program hinges on the American legislature. Lawmakers in Washington are preparing to vote on the proposal, likely in two separate parts: “Pillar 1” and “Pillar 2.” They would need to approve separate measures because one requires changes to US tax legislation and the other gives foreign countries new abilities to either tax American business through the altering of existing trade agreements or by creating new ones.

It is expected to easily pass through the House of Representatives but should be met with a harder challenge in the Senate. Biden and the radical democrats could potentially avoid a hangup in the upper house with the domestic part of the new proposal and use reconciliation to pass it with a simple majority with Kamala Harris as the tie-breaking vote.

According to The Financial Times: “Pillar 2, which changes US domestic legislation, could potentially be passed using the so-called reconciliation process. This can be used by US Congress once a fiscal year and bills passed by this route can clear the Senate with a simple majority. The upper chamber is split 50-50 between Democrats and Republicans, with US vice-president Kamala Harris casting the tiebreaking vote. However, Pillar 1, which will probably require treaty changes, would need the support of at least two thirds of the Senate.”

One of the last G20 holdouts for the tax was China. They have been opposed to agreements that would limit setting tax policy as they see fit. The deals now include significant room for countries to add-in exemptions from the global minimum taxes, laying the groundwork for China to sign on and not be required to follow any of the terms.

Instead of focusing on putting American citizens and businesses first, this administration continues to prioritize the interests foreign nations over the United States. Pat Toomey, the most senior Republican member of the Senate Banking Committee, called the global minimum tax “Crazy.”

YouTube has been fined 100,000 euros by the German Higher Regional Court at Dresden after it wrongly deleted a user's video which showed massive pandemic lockdown protests in Switzerland - and then failed to reinstate the video 'immediately' after the court ordered it to do so on April 20.

Instead, the company waited nearly a month to revive the video, which led to last week's fine, issued on July 5th, according to WELT.de.

Lawyer Joachim Steinhöfel, who represents the account operator, considers the court's decision to be a guideline for freedom of expression on the Internet. "With the historically high fine, the Higher Regional Court makes it very clear that court decisions must be observed without restriction, regardless of whether YouTube assumes a violation of its guidelines or not," said Steinhöfel. -Welt.de (translated)

YouTube, however, doesn't seem phased. A spokesman told WELT, "We have a responsibility to connect our users with trustworthy information and to combat misinformation during Covid-19. This is a decision on a case-by-case basis that we respect and will review accordingly."

The protest video was deleted at the end of January, with YouTube citing its "Policy on medical misinformation about COVID-19," however the court rejected their reasoning, concluding in part that the company's amended guidelines had not been sufficiently conveyed to the account operator - and that a literal amendment to the user agreement is required for this. The mere indication that changes may occur surrounding their COVID-19 policies is not enough.

MALCOLM: More hidden facts about the unmarked graves

Has the media narrative about the graves found near former residential schools gotten away from the facts? You be the judge.

It’s been six weeks since the Chief of the Tk’emlups band in Kamloops, B.C. announced that 215 unmarked graves were found using ground-penetrating radar on the grounds of a former residential school. On May 27, the band said that a preliminary report would be released in mid-June.

It’s now mid-July, and no report has been released. Multiple emails from the Sun asking for the report have been ignored.

On June 24, another discovery was announced — this time in Saskatchewan, where Cowessess Chief Cadmus Delorme announced an even bigger finding: 751 unmarked graves.

Media reports were quick to characterize the graves as belonging to children who attended the nearby Marieval Indian Residential School. But according to a band councillor, that’s not necessarily the case.

“It appears that not all of the graves contain children’s bodies,” Jon Z. Lerat told the Globe and Mail, noting that this was also the burial site used by the rural municipality.

“We did have a family of non-Indigenous people show up today and notified us that some of those unmarked graves had their families in them — their loved ones,” Lerat said. Delorme added that oral stories said the graves belong to “both children and adults” as well as “people who attended the church or were from nearby towns.”

Unlike the Tk’emlups band — who claims the unmarked graves were discovered on the grounds of the former residential school — the unmarked graves at Cowesses are in an existing cemetery. Delorme noted that the graves were once marked, but that the markings were removed at some point.

Interestingly, the same band was in the news two years ago touting its relationship with the local Catholic Church — after the church donated $70,000 to the Cowessess Band for the purpose of helping to “identify unmarked graves, and add fences and trees in the Cowessess Cemetery.”

“This is true truth and reconciliation,” said Chief Delorme in 2019, “this is showing our kids that we can overcome and move forward.”

The 2019 news reports were more cautious about asserting that these graves belonged to children. This is how it was described in the local Postmedia paper, the Regina Leader-Post:

“Because many graves are unmarked, it’s difficult to tell if any children from Marieval were buried there, but the Archdiocese said it’s likely because the school was in operation for so long and it was the community’s only burial site.”

Emails and phone calls to the Cowessess Band went unreturned. It is unclear whether the 751 unmarked graves announced in June 2021 are the same as the graves discussed in the media in June 2019. It is also unclear how the Band spent the $70,000 donated by the church to upgrade the cemetery.

Next, on June 30, 2021, a third band, the Lower Kootenay Band near Cranbrook, B.C., announced its own finding of 182 unmarked graves.

Once again, the media emphasized a connection with the St. Eugene Mission Residential School — again implying these graves belong to children.

Like the Cowessess cemetery graves, the Lower Kootenay unmarked graves are within an existing cemetery — and again the cemetery was used by the broader community.

Perhaps this is why former chief Sophie Pierre told Global News: “there’s no discovery, we knew it was there, it’s a graveyard.”

“The fact there are graves inside a graveyard shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.”

Pierre declined an interview with the Sun.

The history of this cemetery is complex. Records show it was established in 1865 — 50 years before the residential school opened. In 1874, the cemetery began servicing the only local hospital in the Cranbrook region.

The Lower Kootenay Band was clear about these points in their original news release, noting that the graves were originally marked.

“Graves were traditionally marked with wooden crosses and this practice continues to this day in many Indigenous communities across Canada. Wooden crosses can deteriorate over time due to erosion or fire which can result in an unmarked grave.”

“These factors, among others, make it extremely difficult to establish whether or not these unmarked graves contain the remains of children who attended the St. Eugene Residential School.”

While the media and agenda-driven activists characterize these findings as proof of genocide at Canada’s residential schools, the facts seem to show something far less ominous.

Instead, we see uncared for graves (that were previously marked) on the grounds of existing community cemeteries (servicing a broad range of society) under the care of First Nations bands — a lot less sensational, but a lot more accurate.

Equalization payments aren’t just a problem for western Canadians, a new poll suggests, with a majority of Ontario residents finding the federal government’s redistribution of provincial wealth to be unfair.

A recent poll by the Toronto firm One Persuasion found that 73% of Ontarians believe it is unfair that equalization payments have risen 23% since 2015, making Ontario’s share of funding the program equivalent to roughly $2400 per family of four. Opposition was highest in the 905 region of suburban Toronto.

The equalization program is the federal government’s way of addressing fiscal disparities among provinces. However, in recent years, Alberta has paid more into the system even while its economy struggles, given the controversial formula used for calculating payments.

Fairness Alberta Executive Director Bill Bewick says it’s no surprise that Ontarians are fed up with the current equalization formula too.

“Ontarians have been funding unfairly high equalization payments for others while their own provincial government was struggling to pay for services even before COVID-19,” said Bewick.

“Given the collapse of the wealth gap between provinces, the so-called ‘have’ provinces should get the share of equalization that came from their taxpayers rebated until we achieve meaningful reforms to federal-provincial funding.”

While Alberta has been the most vocal opponent of the current equalization program, which will be challenged in an Alberta referendum this fall, Bewick believes more Canadians from other provinces are starting to realize how unfair the system currently is.

“The $21 billion-and-growing price tag for equalization is totally unnecessary and unaffordable given how much more equal provinces have become since 2015,” said Bewick.

“This isn’t just an Alberta problem. Ontario, B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Newfoundland make up nearly 70% of Canada’s population and it has become obvious that the program is unfair to all of them.”

Last week, Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole announced that if elected, and he would make the equalization program more fair for western provinces.

O’Toole’s proposal will allow Alberta to qualify for more funding and create a $5 billion “Equalization Rebate” to compensate the provinces like Alberta which have paid more into the system historically.

The statues of these famous historical figures were all defaced, beheaded, torn down and removed over the last few weeks, mostly by an angry mob of leftist activists.

The anti-colonial activists who swooped in and attacked in cities where the first three statues were once located – Winnipeg and Victoria – deemed it retribution for the treatment of Indigenous children at Canada’s residential schools.

In Charlottetown, council voted at the end of May to remove the statue of Canada’s first prime minister, Sir John A. Macdonald–defaced several times – until they decide what to do with it.

In Toronto, the monument to Ryerson–located on the grounds of the university by the same name– was covered in red paint, beheaded and dragged off its footings by shrieking protesters who seemed to be out for blood. They dumped the head in Lake Ontario.

The statue of McGill was quietly removed from its place on the downtown campus on July 9.

It would seem that statues – at least those that provide an enduring memory to those who helped build the British empire and establish the Canada we know today – are quickly and not so quietly becoming extinct.

Without a second thought, the “woke” activists have determined that anyone they’ve deemed a colonialist – in an era where colonialism created our country – must be cancelled.

But at Toronto City Hall, the leftist councillors who support the activists and their peculiar brand of retribution have decided that an icon to one of their own is perfectly acceptable.

In true “progressive” style, it is not a cheap icon either.

A competition is on to create a $250,000 statue in honour of NDP councillor Pam McConnell who served in public office for 35 years.

The competition, which opened last week, invites artists of “diverse backgrounds” – in particular Indigenous, black and racialized artists – to apply before the Aug. 16 deadline.

The statue, according to the city notice, is to highlight the “outstanding contributions of the former political leader whose dedication to community and social justice facilitated solutions to many challenges facing lower-income communities.”

It is to be placed in the revitalized Regent Park, where McConnell lived after advocating for every step of the costly revitalization through council approvals.

A spanking new aquatic centre in the same development – with three swimming pools – has already been named after her. Additionally, she has a scholarship in her name – The Pam McConnell Award for Young Women in Leadership – to honour her “tireless advocacy for women’s rights and social justice in the City of Toronto.”

The statue and the aquatic centre naming were first raised as a possibility in July of 2018 in a motion put forward by a fellow leftist councillor and seconded by Mayor John Tory.

The statue didn’t get any further attention until this past May when Kristyn Wong-Tam, another leftist who represents much of McConnell’s ward, moved that some of her Section 37 money be used to create the statue. That motion was seconded, again by the mayor.

Never mind that Toronto’s politicians are spending $250,000 in the midst of a pandemic, during which many Torontonians lost their shirts. But even worse, the statue is being paid for using Section 37 funds.

For those unfamiliar with Toronto city council jargon, Section 37 money is paid by developers in exchange for increased density (usually in a condo development). It is supposed to go towards projects that provide “community benefits” – things like streetscape improvements, community and daycare centres, transit improvements and park and playground upgrades.

IQALUIT, Nunavut, July 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – The mayor of Iqaluit, the capital of the Canadian territory of Nunavut, recently proposed taxing local churches, and he plans to bring forward this motion at the upcoming city council meeting.

According to Nunatsiaq News, this announcement came after reports of the discovery of 751 bodies, some of which are believed to be former students, located in unmarked graves at the former Marieval Indian Residential school, which is about 160 kilometres east of Regina, Sask.

Mayor Kenny Bell threatened to remove the churches’ exemption from paying municipal property taxes, claiming they did not deserve it. “We’re not retaliating against them; they literally killed thousands of children,” he alleged in an interview with Nunatsiaq News. In 2020, Bell supported the removal of a Nunavut cabinet official from office after he made comments defending black unborn babies.

“Tax exemptions, as a whole, are supposed to be for groups that do the community good. It’s very clear that the Catholic Church hasn’t done the community any good,” Bell claimed, regardless of the fact that some Indigenous people say that they benefited from and are grateful for the residential schools they attended.

He said this to persuade the Catholic Church to release documents about the history of residential schools. Bell also says that the Catholic Church needs to apologize, despite the fact that the Catholic Church in Canada – and in Rome – has long acknowledged some Catholics were at fault in the residential school system. It was the Canadian government, however, that mandated that First Nations children be taken from their parents and placed in residential schools, some of which were run by the Catholic Church.

“Other than [removing the tax exemption], there’s no [recourse] to deal with them,” Bell said, claiming he was not targeting Catholic Churches, but all local churches.

Father Daniel Perreault, a priest at the Iqaluit Roman Catholic Church, responded by saying that his parish “stands in solidarity with the Native peoples of Canada,” but “it is sad that the mayor of our community chooses to target the churches of Iqaluit by proposing to cancel the property tax exemption provisions.”

“Placing an additional financial burden on local parishes does not harm the Canadian or world-wide Catholic Church, which is not responsible for our financial viability,” Perreault said. “It rather limits our ability to help our fellow Iqalummiut.”

He pointed out that the diocese responsible for the Iqaluit Catholic Church was the first in Canada to apologize to residential school alumni in 1996, and again in 2014.

Although the residential school system was founded by the secular government in the 19th century, and then woefully underfunded by the state, and although different religious groups were asked to run the schools, the Catholic Church has borne the brunt of recent criticism.

Catholic author Michael O’Brien who attended residential schools and gave testimony to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, previously told LifeSiteNews that the chief underlying issue in the residential school saga was the institutional abuse of children by removing them from their families by the state authorities, and then taken to the schools, noting the “long-term psychological and social effects of this.”

Furthermore, residential schools were severely underfunded, meaning that children did not receive sufficient medical care. These children often suffered from excessively high rates of tuberculosis. From 1910 through 1920, child mortality rates were consistently high. Additionally, the Department of Indian Affairs often refused to ship home the bodies of children who died at the government-mandated schools, meaning they were frequently buried on site.

Chanting “freedom” and “Diaz-Canel step down,” protesters voiced their disdain of the government in light of the worst economic crisis Cuba has faced since the fall of the Soviet Union.

The Cuban regime’s lacklustre handling of the pandemic has resulted in a shortage of basic goods and a curbing of civil liberties and freedoms.

While many world leaders have voiced their support of the Cuban protesters, Canadian leaders have been relatively quiet.

Unlike their American counterparts who have condemned the Cuban government for grave human rights abuses, many Canadian leaders have fawned over the Cuban communist regime in the past.

True North compiled a list of Canadian public officials who have voiced their support for the Cuban communist regime:

1. Justin Trudeauv

When former Cuban President Fidel Castro died in 2016, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau could not hold back his tears. Trudeau released a glowing statement in memory of the communist leader.

“Fidel Castro was a larger than life leader who served his people for almost half a century. A legendary revolutionary and orator, Mr. Castro made significant improvements to the education and healthcare of his island nation,” Trudeau said.

“I know my father was very proud to call him a friend and I had the opportunity to meet Fidel when my father passed away. It was also a real honour to meet his three sons and his brother President Raúl Castro during my recent visit to Cuba.”

“We join the people of Cuba today in mourning the loss of this remarkable leader.”

Prior to Castro’s death, Prime Minister Trudeau visited Cuba and tweeted a photo of himself receiving a gift of a photo album from the Castro family, commemorating the Trudeau family visit in 1976.

2. Jagmeet Singh

Upon learning of Castro’s death in 2016, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh took to Twitter to admire the communsit dictator.

“He saw a country wracked by poverty, illiteracy & disease. So he lead a revolution that uplifted the lives of millions. RIP #FidelCastro,” tweeted Singh.

3. Niki Ashton

When Castro died in 2016, NDP member of parliament Niki Ashton lamented the loss of an “icon.”

“The world has lost an icon,” Ashton tweeted. “Hasta la Victoria Siempre!”

“Hasta la victoria siempre” translates to “Until victory, always,” which was a revolutionary motto for communist Che Guevara.

4. Don Davies

Like his NDP counterpart, the MP for Vancouver Kingsway Don Davies also mourned the death dictator Fidel Castro.

“He stood against imperialism & was a man of monumental vision, courage, justice. He shall be missed,” tweeted Davies.

5. 2019 Liberal Candidate Heather Megill

Coming to the defence of her party leader, the Liberal candidate for Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry Heather Megill took to Facebook in 2016.

The World Health Organization’s (WHO) chief scientist issued a new caution about mixing COVID-19 vaccines from different manufacturers.

On Monday, Dr. Soumya Swaminathan called the mixing of vaccines “a little bit of a dangerous trend” that could lead to a “chaotic situation” in countries where citizens decide to take “a second, or a third, or a fourth dose.”

“We are in a data-free, evidence-free zone as far as mix and match. There are limited data on mix and match,” she said.

Swaminathan also said that while there has been data on the efficacy of a first dose of AstraZeneca followed by a second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, there are limited data on the interchangeability of other vaccines.

In Canada, the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) has advised Canadians that mixing vaccines is both safe and effective.

In June, federal officials advised Canadians that a first dose of the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine can be combined with a dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna shots “unless contraindicated.” NACI also advises that the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines can be mixed for first and second doses.

“NACI has worked to quickly adapt this guidance on the use of COVID-19 vaccines in Canada to ensure optimal protection of Canadians at pace with the ever changing circumstances during this pandemic,” Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam said at the time.

“This advice provides provinces and territories with safe and effective options to manage the vaccine programs,” she added.

The WHO’s comments left Canadian officials and doctors scrambling and defending the approach of mixing vaccines.

“In terms of the dose regimens and the recommendations, those are decisions that are at the end of the day made by the provinces and territories who are responsible constitutionally for the administration of health care in their individual jurisdictions,” said Procurement Minister Anita Anand.

“For our part, the federal government will continue to follow the science… as well as the guidance that’s coming out from other bodies.”

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney is ruling out introducing COVID-19 vaccine passports and vowing to fight Ottawa if it pursues them.

“We’ve been very clear from the beginning that we will not facilitate or accept vaccine passports,” Kenney told reporters at a Calgary Stampede breakfast Monday.

“These folks who are concerned about mandatory vaccines have nothing to be concerned about, and there will be no vaccine passports in Alberta.”

Vaccine passports are official documents that confirm a person’s immunization status. The certification could be used by governments or private businesses to restrict the activities of unvaccinated individuals.

Kenney said he believes vaccine passports could contravene Alberta’s Health Information Act and the province’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

Civil liberties experts have tended to agree with this assessment, noting the discriminatory nature of vaccine passports, and their effect of forcing the disclosure of private medical information.

Kenney went beyond simply refusing to adopt vaccine passports at the provincial level. He also vowed to resist any attempts by the federal government to mandate them.

Alberta’s hard line on vaccine passports comes as other Canadian provinces take early steps to implement them.

Quebec is developing a COVID-19 vaccine passport system that may be used in non-essential settings such as gyms, bars, restaurants, festivals and major sporting events. The province is expecting to have the program running in September.

Manitoba has begun issuing immunization cards to fully vaccinated individuals but says there are no plans to prevent unvaccinated people from accessing public services.

Ontario’s Seneca College announced Monday it would be requiring students returning to campus in the fall to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the first Canadian post-secondary institution to do so.

About 74% of Albertans 12 and older have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, provincial tracking data shows. Approximately 55% are fully vaccinated with two shots.

The FDA will add a new warning on the Johnson & Johnson Covid vaccines related to an autoimmune nerve disorder, according to the Washington Post.

According to WaPo, the Food and Drug Administration will say the J&J Covid jab has been linked to “serious but rare side effects called Guillain-Barré syndrome.”

Guillain-Barré is a disorder in which the immune system attacks the nerves.

About 100 Preliminary reports of Guillain-Barré have been detected after the administration of 12.8 million doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine in the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in a statement Monday. The cases have largely been reported about two weeks after vaccination and mostly in men, many aged 50 or older.

The Guillain-Barré cases are expected to be discussed as part of an upcoming meeting of the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, the CDC said.

Guillain-Barré syndrome usually occurs at a rate of about 60 to 120 cases each week, according to CDC data. While the cause of the syndrome is not fully understood, it often follows infection with a virus, including influenza, or bacteria. Each year in the United States, an estimated 3,000 to 6,000 people develop the illness.

The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2021 (SOFI 2021) report warns food insecurity and malnutrition have hit 15-year highs and are likely to worsen.

Well before the COVID-19 pandemic, the world was on track to minimize hunger and malnutrition by 2030. But the virus pandemic disrupted economic flows around the globe, unleashing supply chain hell, compounded by disruptive weather, along with overstimulation by central banks and governments, helping to induce inflation, which has put the world at a critical juncture.

A staggering 811 million people went hungry in 2020, or about 10% of the entire world population. The decade ending in 2014 saw the number of undernourished people fall to 607 million and base through 2019 around 650 million. But as soon as the pandemic hit, food insecurity soared by more than 150 million people to 811 million.

"The report indicates that progress has been made for some forms of malnutrition, but the world is not on track to achieve any global nutrition targets by 2030," the report said.

Globally, 44 percent of infants under 6 months of age were exclusively breastfed in 2019 – up from 37 percent in 2012 but the practice varies considerably among regions. Child malnutrition still persists at an alarming rate –an estimated 149 million children were stunted, 45 million were wasted and 39 million were overweight in 2020. The report presents new projections of potential additional cases of child stunting and wasting due to COVID-19. Based on a conservative scenario, it is projected that an additional 22 million children in low- and middle-income countries will be stunted, an additional 40 million will be wasted between 2020 and 2030 due to the pandemic. -SOFI

"This is a wake-up call to the entire world," David Beasley, executive director of the World Food Programme, told an audience of a webcast Monday.

Beasley said: "We're heading in the wrong direction. To think that we're going to end hunger by 2030, that's not even possible given the direction, trajectory we're on now."

None of this should come as a surprise to readers as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) global food price index recently hit a new high. The non-governmental organization warned surging food prices may induce a "potential crisis" in lower-income countries: "Rising food imports as a share of all imports can be an early warning indicator for potential crises in some areas."

As a reminder, ahead of the rapid rise in food prices, SocGen's market skeptic Albert Edwards in December shared his thoughts about why he started to panic about soaring food prices. And since then, food supply chains remain broken, trillions in fiscal stimulus spent, and exploding commodity costs, we can only imagine the situation is getting worse by the month.

More recently, Deutsche Bank's Jim Reid reminds us that emerging markets are more vulnerable to food insecurity since their consumers spend a far greater share of their income on food than those in the developed world.

Other highlights from the SOFI report show Asia is home to most of the undernourished people post-COVID.

The dots between Technocracy and Transhumanism are easily connected once its understood that both sit atop the pseudo-science religion of Scientism, which posits that science is god and scientists and engineers are its priesthood. Thus, Loeb saw Technocracy (the society) as producing a superior quality of man by applying advanced technology to the human condition.

Formalized in 1932 by scientists and engineers at Columbia University, the movement defined itself in a 1938 edition of its magazine, The Technocrat:

“Technocracy is the science of social engineering, the scientific operation of the entire social mechanism to produce and distribute goods and services to the entire population… For the first time in human history it will be done as a scientific, technical, engineering problem.”

Indeed, Technocracy was an economic system based on science and social engineering. Technocrats were so certain that their scientific approach was so righteous that there would be no need for any political structures whatsoever:

Mayor Tory posted a series of pictures on his Twitter account, gleefully soaking up the atmosphere as Italy went on to claim the title in a penalty shootout.

While things may have seemed to be back to normal, Mayor Tory and the large, maskless crowd surrounding him were actually in contravention of the province's 25-person limit on outdoor public gatherings. More strangely, the purportedly health-conscious mayor shared an image not even 10 days earlier where he acknowledged Independence Day celebrations in the United States by posting a picture, masked and alone, next to an American flag.

On Monday's Rebel News DAILY Livestream, Ezra Levant criticized the hypocritical mayor for this blatant double standard, saying:

“At your peril,” said Mount Royal University professor Frances Widdowson as she launched a Saturday panel discussion titled “Residential Schools and Unmarked Graves: Is open inquiry possible?”

Because the journalist and activist class is pushing a narrative about “mass graves” and leading the public to believe that Aboriginal children were the victims of genocide at residential schools between 1883 and 1996, anyone who questions this narrative is labelled a “genocide apologist” and compared to a Holocaust denier.

This makes it more difficult to have an open, critical discussion about residential schools – but the panel event hosted by the Society for Academic Freedom and Scholarship and the Frontier Centre for Public Policy allowed that dissenting conversation to go forward.

In the early years of the residential school system – around the 1890s – approximately one-third of children died before their fifth birthday, retired Manitoba provincial court judge Brian Giesbrecht pointed out.

“Death in that time – the death of a child – was not an unusual thing,” he noted.

Child mortality at residential schools was not due to mass murder and genocidal intent, he contends, but rather the sad reality that children were susceptible to infectious diseases that were rampant across society during this time.

Tuberculosis was named as the cause of death in 48.7% of reported residential school fatalities, with influenza, pneumonia, and other diseases also present in the schools.

Rates of disease were also higher among indigenous populations: residential schools were introduced in the first 50 years of Confederation, a time when indigenous people were increasingly coming into contact with newly arrived immigrants. Alas, they were exposed to illnesses from which they did not yet have resistance to.

University of Manitoba professor emeritus Rod Clifton pointed out that the journalists and academics acting shocked at the “discovery” of the unmarked graves must not be aware of – or may have conveniently forgotten – Volume 4 of the 2015 Truth and Reconciliation (TRC) report, which is an entire volume about unmarked graves at residential schools.

Indeed, a skim through this report contains passages such as an account of the 1918 influenza pandemic at the school in Fort St. James, BC, where all of the staff members and all but two of the students came down with the flu. In total, 78 people died from that outbreak.

The principal, Father Joseph Allard, wrote in his diary at the time: “… I could not go to the graveyard with all of them. In fact, several bodies were piled up in an empty cabin because there was no grave ready. A large common grave was dug for them.”

Clifton noted that “burying people in cemeteries with headstones is a very recent addition to the indigenous cultures of Canada.”

“If you go to the Anglican cemetery on the Siksika reserve… between 80 and 90% of the graves are unmarked.”

Giesbrecht spoke about how historically, it was the wealthier classes that were buried with headstones in graveyards. These markers were actively maintained by a company or community members. Poorer people did not have this – rather, they would be buried with a simple cross, and unless their burial site was maintained, it would deteriorate.

In addition, gravesites adjacent to residential schools likely included not only the bodies of students, but also teachers, members of the Catholic church, other local community members, and, in at least one case in Brandon, Manitoba, the bodies of nearby mental hospital patients.

“I won’t say that these graves have been ‘discovered…’ because most of them were not lost, and they were just forgotten, at best,” said Clifton. “Only with proper forensic analysis by well-qualified professionals will we get at the truth.”

“The sensational comments by journalists, academics and some indigenous people are not helping get to the truth.”

So why does the media and activist class keep pushing the “mass grave” narrative, even though chiefs from the Tk’emlups and Cowessess nations said themselves that the burial sites are not mass graves?

According to Widdowson, in order for a genocide to have happened, you need mass graves.

“That’s kind of the smoking gun for genocide,” explained Widdowson. “That’s why the ‘mass grave’ was being emphasized… there’s all this innuendo going on about that.” Continue…

Seneca College makes COVID-19 vaccine mandatory for students, staff

Toronto-area Seneca College is the first postsecondary institution in Canada to announce that all students and staff coming to campus in September 2021 must have the COVID-19 vaccine.

“Seneca will be making vaccinations a condition for students and employees to come on campus for the fall term, starting Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021,” college president David Agnew said in a statement.

A handful of Ontario universities such as Ryerson, Ontario Tech, and Western are requiring students living in residence to have the first dose of the vaccine, but not the campus community at-large.

Manitoba’s universities, on the other hand, have all said they will not implement a mandatory vaccine policy.

“We can’t demand anybody to get the vaccine. That’s not within our power or the province’s power,” Brandon University president David Docherty told CBC News.

As for Seneca College, Seneca Student Federation president Ritik Sharma contends that students are in favour of the policy.

“They are very much liking this policy,” Sharma told the National Post.

The college has not yet provided any details about how the mandatory vaccination policy will be enforced, whether exemptions will be accepted, or if lawyers were consulted during the policymaking process.

Although Ontario premier Doug Ford has rejected the idea of vaccine passports – as Alberta premier Jason Kenney has – organizations such as the Toronto Region Board of Trade are pushing for a vaccine passport system.

In Canada, the COVID-19 vaccine does not have full approval, only emergency use authorization.

Following the World Health Organization’s (WHO) caution about mixing COVID-19 vaccines, many Ontarians are frustrated and angered with the mixed messages from the WHO and Canadian government.

CP24 reports that some Ontarians immediately left vaccine clinics upon learning they were about to receive a vaccine than they did for their first doses.

“It’s bad enough that we have to get vaccines to begin with and then to take a gamble on something we’re not sure about yet, we decided not to do it,” one man told a CP24 reporter.

“I am very frustrated. We waited long enough to get this second appointment and when you book the appointment, you don’t know which [vaccine] you’re going to get.”

Swaminathan also said that while there has been data on the efficacy of a first dose of AstraZeneca followed by a second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, there are limited data on the interchangeability of other vaccines.

In Canada, the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) has advised Canadians that mixing vaccines is both safe and effective.

Following the WHO’s caution, Canadian officials immediately defended the approach of mixing vaccines.

“In terms of the dose regimens and the recommendations, those are decisions that are at the end of the day made by the provinces and territories who are responsible constitutionally for the administration of health care in their individual jurisdictions,” said Procurement Minister Anita Anand said on Monday.

“For our part, the federal government will continue to follow the science… as well as the guidance that’s coming out from other bodies.”

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau did not have an unkind word to say about the Cuban government’s suppression of protesters.

Trudeau was asked Tuesday if he would condemn communist regime’s horrendous human rights abuses or if he agrees with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel that the US is to blame for the crisis.

“Canada has always stood in friendship with the Cuban people. We have always called for greater freedoms and more defence of human rights in Cuba,” Trudeau said, stopping short of condemning the Cuban government.

“We will continue to be there to support Cubans in their desire for greater peace, greater stability and greater voice for how things are going.”

Reports from Cuba indicate that more than 100 people have been arrested or are reported missing after the communist government cracked down on the largest protests in decades. Journalists are also being arrested, including ABC’s Camila Acosta.

CNN witnessed multiple people being arrested and thrown in the back of vans during protests in Havana. The Cuban government also imposed an internet blackout, preventing Cubans from sharing images and videos of the protest.

Due to the communist government’s poor handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cuban people are facing the worst economic crisis since the fall of the Soviet Union. As a result, there is a shortage of basic goods and electricity in the island nation.

During a televised government meeting, Díaz-Canel blamed the US for the country’s economic woes and also said the protesters are criminals.

This isn’t the first time Trudeau has warmed up to the communist regime in Cuba.

When former Cuban President Fidel Castro died in 2016, Trudeau released a glowing statement in memory of the communist leader.

“Fidel Castro was a larger than life leader who served his people for almost half a century. A legendary revolutionary and orator, Mr. Castro made significant improvements to the education and healthcare of his island nation,” Trudeau said.

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.

Former Pfizer Vice President and Chief Science Officer Michael Yeadon today told America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS) that a Reuters“fact checker” article calling his statements “misinformation” is “a mixture of straw men and sheer invention,” saying the Reutersarticle was “well worth rebutting”.

This is not the first time Reuters has tried to discredit Yeadon by “fact checker” obfuscation, although past attempts have been less half-hearted. This time, Reuters called Yeadon an “anti-vax proponent” who “has made unfounded claims”. Relying on an entity that calls itself “Meedan’s Health Desk, a group of public health scientists working to tackle medical misinformation online,” the Reuters“fact check” addresses Yeadon statements on asymptomatic spread, variants, the COVID-19 vaccine, and its use in pregnancy.

The article’s concluding “verdict” tries to claim that “infected but symptom-free people can spread the coronavirus; vaccinated people are better protected but not 100% immune; research shows COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective for adults and pregnant women.”

Relating to the article, Yeadon said: “The narrative statements that have repeatedly been claimed by the authorities which are a pack of lies are:

“1. Asymptomatic transmission. It’s definitely a lie. Have you seen that video where Fauci states that ‘it’s always a symptomatic person who drives an epidemic and never people without symptoms’?

“A WHO doctor said exactly the same thing.

“There’s also a terrific peer-reviewed journal article showing that domestic transmission in asymptomatic cases was effectively zero.

“All marries up with the statements I’ve made, and with biological logic.

“2. Variants. They’re just being idiotic. I can show several good quality papers demonstrating that T-cells from a convalescent person or an immunized person each recognize all the then-available variants, again, as anticipated by fundamentals of immunology. The weak twaddle in their piece about antibodies is risible.

“3. Vaccines. The bastards are actually claiming they’re safe. Got them. We have VAERS, Yellow Card, and EMA monitoring. We have mechanism of toxicity. We have multiple open letters to EMA (warning of blood clots) which were immediately followed by vaccine withdrawals (for blood clots).

“4. Pregnancy/fertility. No one in their right mind thinks giving experimental treatments to pregnant women is other than reckless. Especially when reproductive toxicity testing is incomplete.”

Yeadon continued:

“But on top of this stupidity, are two recent public disclosures: (I) the distribution of vaccine to tissues in mice shows a very disturbing concentration into ovaries. No one has followed it up, so the assumption has to be this is happening in humans too, and (II) our concern expressed in the December 2020 petition to EMA about immune cross-reactivity between spike protein and human syncytin-1 has been confirmed. A paper was very recently published showing young women making antibodies to syncytin-1 within days of vaccination.”

Summarizing, Yeadon concluded:

“Of course this is wholly fraud. Imagine that the number of people in U.K. who’d actually been killed by the virus, instead of dying with it, was just a couple of thousand; you’d been on the streets with torches and pitchforks.

“You should be. Governments everywhere have lied and lied and lied about every one of the central narrative points about this virus.

“The effect of compliance with their ludicrous policy responses has been to hollow out and arguably to have destroyed economically several G20 counties, and actually increased the number of avoidable deaths, not least by deprivation of healthcare.

“These people all need locking up in that new high-security facility being built at speed at Wellingborough, Northants. The prima faciecase against a dozen or so people in U.K. warrants their arrest pending criminal prosecutions.

“If these figures are of the same order of magnitude for other countries as well, and there is no reason to assume otherwise, then the plague is a deception of unprecedented proportions, and crimes committed against humanity on a huge scale have been committed here.”

Six months after SocGen's market skeptic Albert Edwards shared his thoughts about why he started to panic about soaring food prices and how it may cause social unrest in emerging market economies, Bloomberg chimed in with a piece titled "Arab Spring Redux? Middle East Most Exposed to Food Prices."

Pandemic-driven hunger is already sweeping across the world as we highlighted on Monday that global food insecurity is at 15-year highs.

Bloomberg finally connected the dots Tuesday with "international food prices close to their 2011 peaks," and it was this time ten years ago when food insecurity resulted in "waves of protests, especially in the Middle East."

An emerging market food vulnerability scorecard shows Yemen, Sudan, and Lebanon are the most at risk for uprises due to food becoming more expensive and increasing shortages.

For months, we've quoted some of the most influential minds who visualized the unfolding global crisis as food insecurity worsened. The only outcome they saw was future socio-economic turmoil in emerging market economies.

We noted in the intro that everyone's favorite permabear, Edwards, who, unlike Goldman Sachs, began to worry about food inflation in December. Back then, he outlined similarities in rapid food inflation and how it played a considerable role in sparking unrest and ensuing revolutions in many Arab countries a decade ago.

More recently, Deutsche Bank's Jim Reid reminded us that emerging markets are more vulnerable to food insecurity since their consumers spend a far greater share of their income on food than those in the developed world.

Analysts Michael Every and Michael Magdovitz of Rabobank warned that surging food prices could exacerbate global food insecurity that ultimately results in social unrest in weaker, emerging market countries.

Already, this month, unrest has broken out in Haiti, Cuba, and South Africa. All three of these countries were already on the brink of turmoil as food insecurity became severe after the pandemic.

For instance, in South Africa, about 20% of the population suffers from severe food insecurity. President Cyril Ramaphosa warned Monday of increasing food and medicine shortages.

The wave of unrest may continue, and it's about time Bloomberg recognized the trend.

Apparently, people being allowed to go about normal life is “devastating.”

This despite the fact that the UK held numerous test trials at sporting events where spread of COVID-19 was found to be minimal as a result.

Fans attending the game were also made to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test on condition of entry.

Back in February 2020, Dr. Anthony Fauci admitted that a typical store-bought face mask “is not really effective in keeping out virus, which is small enough to pass through material.”

A peer-reviewed study in Denmark involving 6,000 participants also found that “there was no statistically significant difference between those who wore masks and those who did not when it came to being infected by Covid-19,” the Spectator reported.

The Left’s global warming Chicken Littles insist that the sky is falling but don’t want you to know six key facts.

First, in his new book “Unsettled,” Obama Administration Department of Energy chief scientist Steven Koonin shows that the models relied upon by the Left to predict future global warming are so poor that they cannot even reproduce the temperature changes in the 20th century.

If these models cannot reproduce past temperatures already known when the models were developed, how can they possibly reliably predict temperatures decades into the future?

Second, Koonin’s book also documents that the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s own analysis indicates that any negative economic impact that global warming eventually may have will be so modest that it warrants no action.

Third, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the UN IPPC do not claim that a link has been established between global warming and natural disasters.

In 2020, the NOAA stated: “it is premature to conclude with high confidence that increasing atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations from human activities have had a detectable impact on Atlantic basin hurricane activity,” and “changes in tropical cyclone activity … are not yet detectable.”

The UN IPPC, the Wall Street Journal reported, “says that it too lacks evidence to show that warming is making storms and flooding worse.”

Fourth, as the earth’s temperature has risen, natural disasters have become far less deadly.

Since 1920, the planet’s temperature has risen by 1.29 degrees Celsius and world population has quadrupled from less than two billion to over seven and half billion – yet EM-DAT, The International Disaster Database, reports that the number of people killed by natural disasters has declined by over 80 percent, from almost 55,000 per year to less than 10,000 per year.

Fifth, some of the world’s best scientists believe that global warming will be beneficial rather than harmful.

In 2017, a group of eminent scientists – such as Richard Lindzen of MIT, William Happer of Princeton, and Judith Curry of Georgia Tech – wrote that “[o]bservations [over the last] 25 years … show that warming from increased atmospheric CO2 will be benign.”

Carbon dioxide, they noted, “is not a pollutant but a major benefit to agriculture and other life on Earth.”

Sixth, global warming saves lives. A study published in 2015 by the British medical journal The Lancet found that cold kills over 17 times more people than heat.

This study by 22 scientists from around the world – which examined over 74 million deaths in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States in 1985-2012, “the largest dataset ever collected to assess temperature-health associations”– reported that cold caused 7.29 percent of these deaths, while heat caused only 0.42 percent.

And small changes in the temperature matter: “moderately hot and cold temperatures” caused 88.85 percent of the temperature-related deaths, while “extreme” temperatures caused only 11.15 percent.

We must not let the Left bully us into draconian action with unfounded claims of a looming climate catastrophe. Know the facts. Global warming is not a problem.

It used to be patriotism, but – again – the word has been tarnished and replaced with the negatively charged nationalism.

It used to be the strong sense of identity, but then European identities are frowned upon to say the least and European people are made to feel guilty and ashamed of themselves.

It used to be the care about religious salvation, hence a preoccupation with a virtuous life, but Christianity has died out.

For all the vacuum that has been created, man needs a purpose, man needs meaning.

This purpose, this meaning has been duly suggested to the young, and these are:

[1] environment protection – climate change – sustainable development;

[2] veneration of non-Europeans – migrations – anti-racism, and

[3] gender mainstreaming.

Yes, these goals have been whispered into the ears of the impressionable minds, then reinforced and eventually imposed by the three powerful tools that shape the human mind: education, media and entertainment.

Why do we say that these goals are by no means spontaneous but have been suggested?
