Sir Winston Churchill has become the latest victim of the deranged woke mob in Canada.

Churchill joins the esteemed club of historical figures who have had their statues defaced or torn down in recent weeks and months in a fit of criminal rage by a nameless, faceless mob.

Canada’s founding Prime Minister Sir John A. Macdonald, early advocate for universal education Egerton Ryerson, and Canada’s founding monarch Queen Victoria have all become the target of cancel culture and woke leftist vandals.

And while there is feigned condemnation from left-wing leaders over the illegal destruction of property, there is a growing political and intellectual movement that seeks to legitimize the woke worldview.

When news broke that Churchill’s statue in Edmonton had been doused with red paint, Edmonton’s wannabe woke mayor Don Iveson failed to condemn the mob. Instead, he promoted the idea that we should apply today’s hyper-politicized speech standards to historical figures.

Iveson said he welcomed discussions of “addressing historical wrongdoings and inequities like systemic racism,” but simply noted there are better ways to do this than “vandalizing city property.”

Nisha Patel, the City of Edmonton’s Poet Laureate, a taxpayer-funded government position, openly voiced support to the vandals and their political tactics.

She told Global News that the vandalism simply shows that “any attempt at dialogue or outreach has truly failed,” and that “there are angry people with valid feelings who want to express their frustration.” According to Global, “she added it’s important to note the people who vandalized the statue did not harm anyone.”

You get that? If you’re on the far-left, it’s perfectly reasonable to be angry and express your frustration through the destruction of property.

Patel goes on to say: “I think if this is what it takes to reach a critical point, where opposition is taken seriously by people who are bigoted, then this is what we have to do.”

In other words, if you oppose the woke mob tearing down statues and erasing our history, you are a bigot and that only further justifies the woke mob tearing down statues and erasing our history.

Must be nice to be a Poet Laureate.

And of course, Patel is far from the only public figure that seems to hate Canada so much that she wants to destroy every institution in our country.

Last week, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh told us what he really thinks of Canada.

“The reality is that our Canada is a place of racism, of violence, of genocide of indigenous people, and our Canada is a place where Muslims are not safe. They are not. They are not safe. Muslims are not safe in this country.”

That would be news to my husband’s family, who escaped tyranny in Iran and found a peaceful, welcoming home filled with opportunity and freedom in North Toronto. I guess they didn’t get the memo that one politicized tragedy in London, Ontario means that Canada’s one million Muslims are no longer safe in the world’s most diverse, tolerant and open society.

A 27-year-old MP in Singh’s caucus echoed this hatred for Canada in her farewell speech to the House of Commons on Tuesday.

Mumilaaq Qaqqaq, NDP member for Nunavut, blasted Canada as a colonialist hellhole built on the oppression of Indigenous people and whose history is stained with blood.

Her angry rant, filled with baseless accusations and fanatical hyperbole, was applauded and promoted by the legacy media. I’ve yet to see a single public figure counter her radical claims or refute his fever-dream excoriation of our country.

That’s because defending Canada is now passé. It’s much more fashionable to condemn Canada as a uniquely terrible, systemically compromised failed state built by irredeemably horrendous leaders who committed unspeakable atrocities and crimes against humanity.

If that’s your worldview — and it seems that is the view held by cultural leftist elites these days — then it’s no wonder why they want Churchill’s head on a platter. Sure, he beat Hitler and stopped the Nazis. But Canada, and indeed all of Western Civilization, is just as bad.

Premier Scott Moe announced on Sunday that 70% of the province’s residents over the age of 18 have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and as a result, Saskatchewan can move to Step 3 of its reopening plan.

“We are able to make this announcement because so many Saskatchewan residents have done their part by getting vaccinated, so I’d like to say thanks to Saskatchewan people,” said the Premier.

“Over the past 15 months, Saskatchewan residents have diligently followed public health guidelines and restrictions, and over the past months they have followed through by getting vaccinated.”

In addition to lifting the province’s mask order, capacity limits on events and gatherings will also end.

Saskatchewan is the second province in Canada to announce the easing of COVID-19 public health restrictions.

On Friday, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney announced that his province will be lifting virtually all of its COVID-19 related public health restrictions by Canada Day this year.

Once Alberta enters the third stage of its reopening plan, indoor and outdoor gathering restrictions will be lifted. Similarly capacity limits for places of worship and businesses will also disappear.

According to the government of Alberta, mandatory indoor masking requirements will also be lifted, however “limited and specific settings” may still require mask-wearing.

“I never doubted that we would reach this milestone together, that we’d pull together as a province, as a people, and get ‘er done in the true Alberta spirit,” Premier Kenney said.

Dr. Brent Roussin addressed the concerns of a “Pfizer supply slowdown,” and stated that if your first dose was Pfizer, you could accept Moderna as your second dose:

Doctor who shared COVID vaccine concerns says he is facing workplace harassment

A doctor from the University of Guelph who has been outspoken about his concerns over COVID-19 vaccines claims he has been on the receiving end of workplace harassment after voicing his opinion.

Dr. Byram Bridle, an associate professor of viral immunology, recently spoke at a press conference in Ottawa hosted by independent MP Derek Sloan. Sloan, who was controversially removed from the Conservative Party in January, held a summit allowing medical experts the opportunity to raise concerns over censorship of dissenting opinions.

That press conference has now been seen more than 470,000 times on YouTube.

Dr. Bridle, the first speaker at the event, spoke about the “very public smear campaign” he claims is being run against him.

“I'm experiencing harassment — lots of harassment — in the workplace,” Dr. Bridle said. While the University of Guelph administration has been supportive of his right to share his opinion and of his right to academic freedom, Dr. Bridle revealed much the harassment he spoke of is coming from colleagues, both on social media and in person.

“One of the members of the Ontario COVID-19 science advisory committee, they were actually the first ones to post a link to the slanderous website and they have fanned the flames of this smear campaign quite strongly since then,” Dr. Bridle revealed.

Dr. Bridle appeared to be referring to University of Toronto professor of epidemiology David Fisman, who on May 29 tweeted his opinion regarding some of Dr. Bridle's claims and pointed readers to a website using Bridle's name.

Fisman was previously criticized by Ontario Premier Doug Ford for his paid work on behalf of the province's teachers' union, while simultaneously serving on the Ontario Science Advisory Table.

Dr. Bridle explained how the issues went beyond disagreements over COVID vaccines, but that “they even went so far as to release confidential medical information about my parents.”

“This is an egregious act. This is a practicing physician,” Dr. Bridle said.

On May 31, Fisman tweeted that a “friend” had told him that an interview broadcast on Toronto-based Global News affiliate caused Bridle's parents to cancel their vaccine appointments.

The University of Guelph told local news outlet GuelphToday that it is standing behind Dr. Bridle, despite the controversy his claims have generated.

“This overarching commitment and mission aligns with the right of individual faculty to express their own opinions or to pursue curiosity-driven research, even when it may be perceived or believed to be controversial and at odds with the common understanding,” the statement released to GuelphToday said.

“Universities must continue to be places that value differing viewpoints, champion free speech, and promote inquiry and academic freedom. We do expect that all researchers adhere to the highest levels of scholastic integrity and comply with applicable laws and regulations.”

Fully vaccinated Canadians and permanent residents will be allowed to enter the country without quarantining effective July 5.

On Monday, the federal government announced Canadians who have received all doses of Health Canada-approved vaccines can avoid hotel quarantine and end home quarantine after getting a negative test result.

The move comes nearly six months after the federal government imposed mandatory quarantines in hotels in an effort to combat importation of COVID-19 “variants of concern.”

“As we’ve told Canadians all along, easing measures at the border will happen as we see our communities increasingly become safe,” Health Minister Patty Hajdu said.

“If you are planning to travel internationally this summer, remember to check the requirements of the country that you’re visiting.”

The announcement only applies to Canadian citizens and permanent residents. The Canadian border will remain closed to non-citizens and non-residents without an essential reason for entry.

Travelers will be required to provide proof of vaccination through the government’s ArriveCAN app prior to their arrival.

The final dose of vaccine will have to be received at least 14 days before arriving in Canada. Travelers will still be required to submit a quarantine plan on the ArriveCAN app as the government will not grant quarantine exemptions until the traveler arrives in Canada.

The announcement comes as many provinces hit their vaccination targets and several announce plans to fully reopen.

Last week, the Trudeau government announced that the Canada-US border will remain closed for non-essential travel until at least July 21.

“As Canadians continue to get vaccinated, we’ll be carefully monitoring data here and around the world. We will be assessing our own rates of vaccination, cases, hospitalizations, and outbreaks and the disease activity in the rest of the world,” Hajdu added.

“We’ll watch these metrics carefully, as we plan the next phase of changes to border measures.”

Taxpayer group blasts $5 billion Parliament Hill renovation

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) blasted the Trudeau government’s decision to spend an estimated $5 billion in taxpayer funds to renovate Parliament Hill.

“It’s hard to believe bureaucrats couldn’t find a way to do these renovations for less money after more than a decade of planning,” said CTF Federal Director Franco Terrazzano in a Monday morning news release.

“If we played the would-you-rather game, I’m sure most Canadians could figure out a better way to spend $5 billion.”

According to the CTF, the federal government failed to consider other ways to spend the funds including eliminating boil-water advisories for First Nations communities across Canada.

“This is a huge price tag for a project that will have little benefit for most Canadians. With the feds more than $1 trillion in debt, we need to see a better effort from this government to rein in spending,” added Terrazzano.

Recent reports have indicated that the renovation construction in Ottawa could last until 2030 before it is finally completed.

The CTF is calling on the Parliamentary Budget Officer to release an independent report on the renovations to reveal the total costs of the project.

Renovations to Parliament Hill are happening at the same time that the main cottage residence of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is also being restored.

According to the National Capital Commission, construction at Harrington Lake is expected to cost taxpayers $6.1 million.

Part of the restoration includes a $2.5 million private mansion known as the “Farmhouse” which will serve as a temporary residence on the grounds.

“The short answer is yes, so we provide aggregate information. But in terms of a vaccine passport, that is something Canada is working on in concert with all of us,” British Columbia Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry told reporters last Thursday.

“So, yes, we are working with the federal government about how they can develop a Canadian passport that is recognized internationally, that links in a confidential way to the information that we have in the same way that you would have your passport.”

Henry said that it is “most important” one’s personal health information is protected, adding the province already has an “immunization registry where everybody’s doses … are in there.”

“We need to be able to access that in a safe way for to allow people … to have a vaccine passport if it’s needed. And what our expectation is, is that we’ll have that in place for international travel,” said Henry.

In Canada, provinces have jurisdiction on all health matters, which would include issuing any type of proof of one’s vaccination status.

A fundamental sea change has taken place at the highest levels of world power on or around June 21st, 2021. The world’s military and intelligence agencies have decided to treat the ongoing fake pandemic medical emergency as an act of war and react accordingly. To quote from MI6:

“We know the whole Covid thing is a scam, a lie, a money-making con.Civilians who conducted an undeclared act of war have been now been well and truly found out. That allows us with military legal to actually deal with these people.”

Mossad sources for their part report:

“There is a clean-up operation taking place of the Octagon group in Switzerland. Since Yossi Cohen the Head of the Mossad stepped down as of June 1, Octagon has no more protection from the Mossad. David Barnea the new Mossad Chief, has been ordered to stand down.”

As a part of this, a death warrant has been issued for David Rockefeller Jr. He is pictured below with his slaves Tokyo Governor Koike Yuriko and Akie Abe the wife of former Japanese slave prime minister Shinzo Abe (we are not sure who the woman at the far left of the picture is).

It is well-documented history that the Rockefeller family took over Western medicine by setting up and financing medical associations. These suppressed traditional natural-based medicine in favor of petroleum and chemical-based medicine. Since Western medicine has long been structured as a military organization headed by “surgeon generals,” it was easy to co-opt this system by taking control of its command structure. This is the WHO, the various medical associations, and assorted “surgeon generals.” Any doctor who dissents from this command structure will have their medical “license,” removed and lose their access to a lucrative salary.

Since Rockefeller Jr. is ultimately responsible for the “pandemic” and the resultant campaign to vaccinate all humans with toxins this makes him one of the worst mass murderers in human history.

Rockefeller has been fingered by former Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu (who is now in protective custody) as the most senior member of the genocidal Octagon group. For this reason, a warning is being sent to the Swiss, to either hand him over for questioning or face the complete destruction of Octagon group headquarters near Lake Geneva.

Rockefeller Jr. inherited not only control of the medical associations from David Rockefeller Sr., but also control of much of the so-called G7 power structure including most of the Fortune 500 corporations. This is what they refer to as the “[Rockefeller] rules-based world order.”

We also have received reports from P3 freemasons, MI6, and Russia’s FSB about the summit meeting in Geneva last week between Rockefeller U.S. presidential avatar Joe Biden and Russian presidential spokesman Vladimir Putin. At the summit “Joe Biden” proposed a new cold war against China, the sources agree. To sweeten the deal they stopped blocking Russia’s Nordstream II pipeline and offered many other incentives and bribes. One was a promise to end the hysterical anti-Russian propaganda campaign being waged by their mainstream media outlets. To underline this they allowed Putin a long un-censored interview on U.S. corporate TV.

“In the last two years, where the U.S.-Russia relationship was sacrificed for the sake of fierce political strife inside the U.S.…We have been accused of all kinds of things: election interference, cyber-attacks and so on and so forth. “The U.S. is a high-tech country. NATO has declared cyberspace an area of combat. That means they are planning something. They are preparing something.”

Majority of Canadians don’t believe Canada is a racist country: poll

A new poll exploring attitudes on racism in Canada found that an overwhelming majority of Canadians do not agree with the statement that “Canada is a racist country.”

The findings were released in a recent report conducted by the organization in association with University of British Columbia researchers.

According to the report, 66% of Canadians disagree or strongly disagree with the statement above. Meanwhile, only 34% of Canadians either agreed or strongly agreed that Canada was racist.

When broken down based on age and sex, the poll discovered that three-quarters of people over the age of 55 disagreed with Canada being racist. Additionally, 54% of women between the ages of 18 and 34 were of the opinion that Canada was racist.

Additionally, the report found that equity and anti-racism “advocates” were more likely to see more racism than what visible minorities were reporting themselves.

“It is notable that only among the Advocates is there majority agreement that Canada is a racist country. Elsewhere, disagreement is the majority response. For Detractors, the statement has no veracity whatsoever,” claimed the Angus Reid Institute.

The poll also discovered that advocates were twice as likely as minorities to say that police were prejudiced towards minorities. In total 83% of people who identify as racial justice advocates said that police were racist while only 42% of visible minorities claimed the same viewpoint.

The poll was conducted in light of a recent national debate on systemic racism and Canada’s history.

Quebec MNA Claire Samson has crossed the floor to become the Conservative Party of Quebec’s first representative in the province’s national assembly.

On Friday, Samson announced she would be joining the Conservative Party of Quebec (CPQ) just days after being ejected from the governing Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ).

Samson says she did not feel respected by CAQ leadership, noting that she had multiple meetings with CPQ leader Éric Duhaime before deciding to join the CPQ.

“I did ask a lot of questions at the caucus, I think I was becoming a burden,” she said of her time in the CAQ.

“It’s easier for a party when everybody follows the thinking and the line, which is not always my case …. I feel that with Mr. Duhaime, I will be able to express my opinion, so I’m very relieved.”

Samson was ejected from the CAQ after it was revealed she had donated $100 to the CPQ. CAQ leadership ruled that Samson could no longer be part of their caucus as the CPQ publicly opposed the government’s COVID-19 lockdown measures.

Samson sat as an independent for three days until she officially switched her affiliation.

Samson has served as MNA for Iberville since 2014. In the 2018 provincial election, Samson won with 47.6% of the vote.

The CPQ has been a minor force in Quebec politics until recently. In the 2018 provincial election, the party received just 1.46% of the vote, which was an increase from its showing in the previous election.

In April, the party elected Duhaime, a notable columnist and radio host, which has reignited discussion about the CPQ and its place in Quebec politics.

An Angus Reid poll from June 8 found that 8% of Quebecer plan on voting for the CPQ in the next election.

With a member in the National Assembly of Quebec, the CPQ will receive a crucial platform to promote itself. Samson will be able to pose questions to the government on behalf of the part and also hold press conferences from inside the assembly building.

A school trustee with the Greater Victoria School District claimed that he was working on decolonizing his “mind and thoughts” for National Indigenous People’s Day, while also calling on people to do their part in decolonizing public education.

“I recognize the incredible amount of work we have to do to decolonize our systems, especially in public education,” tweeted Trustee Ryan Painter.

“I also recognize the work I am doing in an ongoing project to decolonize my mind and my thoughts. We all need to do our part.”

National Indigenous People’s Day is celebrated on June 21st every year as a way to recognize the diversity of cultures and contributions that First Nations and Indigenous people have made to Canada.

True North reached out to Painter to ask him to clarify what he meant by decolonizing “thoughts and minds” but did not receive a response by the deadline.

According to British Columbia’s Office of the Human Rights Commissioner (BCOHCR), “decolonization” entails the “ongoing process of recognizing and removing colonial powers.”

“Decolonization is the dismantling of the process by which one nation asserts and establishes its domination and control over another nation’s land, people and culture,” writes the BCOHCR.

“It is the framework through which we are working toward undoing the oppression and subjugation of Indigenous peoples in what is now known as British Columbia and unlearning colonial ways of thinking and being.”

Recently, Victoria city council unanimously voted to cancel its Canada Day celebrations citing the apparent discovery of human remains near a former residential school in Kamloops. According to Victoria Mayor Lisa Helps, hosting the event would interfere with reconciliation efforts.

Instead of celebrating Canada’s national holiday, councillors supported having a day of reflection on reconciliation.

CBC News interviewed a pundit who was paid $16,950 by the Trudeau government without disclosing the commentator’s financial ties.

According to Blacklock’s Reporter, University of Calgary economist Trevor Tombe was interviewed by the public broadcaster several times throughout 2020 despite receiving the sole-sourced contract from the federal government on August 24th of that year.

CBC made no mention of Tombe’s ties to the government while he appeared to defend Ottawa’s pandemic efforts. Tombe was only referenced as an “academic” before appearing on the network.

During his segments, Tombe claimed that “blaming Ottawa and moving inward does little good.” He also stated that “every single Canadian benefited” from the Trudeau government’s spending initiatives.

“That service was for constructing a detailed model of interprovincial trade,” Tombe told Blacklock’s.

Also according to Tombe, he “did not contribute to CBC Calgary during the time of that contract.”

According to CBC’s Journalistic Standards, a pundit’s ties must be disclosed by the broadcaster when appearing on air.

“It is important to mention any association, affiliation or special interest a guest may have so the public can fully understand that person’s perspective,” the policy states.

This is not the first case the CBC has invited pundits to speak on air without disclosing that they received funds from the Trudeau government.

In 2020, the CBC aired a segment with pundit Amanda Alvaro without revealing that she received thousands from the government for contract work.

According to records, Alvaro was paid $16,950 for a Department of Foreign Affairs contract, while also receiving another contract worth $24,997 to coach a Liberal minister on media engagement.

The scientist who funded the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s ‘gain of function’ research on coronaviruses, which many now believe to be the source of the pandemic, has finally been removed from a position of investigative authority.

As we previously reported, Peter Daszak - a noted friend and colleague of Dr. Anthony Fauci - was tapped to head up The Lancet’s UN backed commission to investigate the origins of the coronavirus that caused a global pandemic.

The British scientist was picked despite the fact that he was intimately associated with the Wuhan lab, had repeatedly dismissed the lab leak hypothesis a ‘dangerous conspiracy theory’, and created a pressure campaign via a letter published by The Lancet to force the scientific community into avoiding looking into the lab as a potential source of the outbreak.

Daszak was also the lead investigator for the World Health Organisation investigation that determined within 3 hours of visiting the Wuhan lab in February 2021 that there was no leak purely based on the word of researchers there.

Daszak was later employed as an ‘expert fact checker’ by Facebook when it was monitoring and removing ‘misinformation’ about the origins of COVID on its platform, much of which was credible scientific research. Facebook has since reversed the policy of banning any posts containing information suggesting COVID-19 was “man-made”.

It became abundantly clear that Daszak has the biggest motive to dismiss the lab leak notion, yet he kept landing roles in investigating it.

No longer it appears as The Lancet’s origins commission website lists Daszak as "recused from Commission work on the origins of the pandemic."

At the beginning of this week, The Lancet also issued a statement saying it has invited the other scientists who signed Daszak’s original letter, several of whom are involved in the investigative commission, to “re-evaluate their competing interests.”

As we previously noted, other members of The Lancet’s task force are practically all minions of Daszak, some of whom helped him draft the letter that unequivocally stated the lab leak theory was dangerous, and others who either worked with him on ‘fact checking’ for Facebook, or were cited as sources during that activity.

The new statement also includes an expanded disclosure by Daszak in which he denies that he or his company EcoHealth received any money directly from the Chinese government.

It also states “EcoHealth Alliance’s work in China … includes the production of a small number of recombinant bat coronaviruses to analyse [sic] cell entry and other characteristics of bat coronaviruses for which only the genetic sequences are available… NIH reviewed the planned recombinant virus work and deemed it does not meet the criteria that would warrant further specific review by its Potential Pandemic Pathogen Care and Oversight (P3CO) committee.”

Essentially, Daszak is still claiming he had nothing to do with gain of function research, perhaps because it is now clear that this is the likely cause of the outbreak.

As Daszak also states, he is still currently a member of the WHO investigative team that continues to study the animal origins of the virus in tandem with China.

The mistake people make is to believe what they are told, to assume that what is happening is for their protection and that when things go wrong it is a result of error or incompetence. Must be difficult to cope financially without having advertising deals. Kane apparently sent a tweet which read: `That indescribable first taste of Coca Cola, similar to the indescribable feeling of scoring a goal’. Rashford supported this. You’d think they’d be embarrassed wouldn’t you? This is the team which takes a moral stance by half kneeling before matches and then protests if some spectators take a different position and object to their stance.

The point is that never before have so many people believed so many lies. Aided by an immoral and ruthless media (particularly the BBC where ignorant pseudo-journalists have plumbed new depths in the service of deceit and manipulation) frauds have been devised and perpetuated with ruthless, lethal efficiency. Building on last week's findings, two Spanish researchers believe that the "secret nanoparticles" found in covid vaccines are nanotubes of graphene oxide.

“Safe and effective?”

Calling drugs that were developed at “warp speed”, with virtually no animal testing and only 2 months of testing on healthy humans “safe” is a lie.

“Safe” takes 10 years of testing, at least.

We were told these drugs are “effective” because they “reduce risk of symptomatic infection from COVID-19 by 95%.”

But that 95% figure is only a measure of Relative Risk Reduction.

There’s a more important statistic that the drug companies failed to disclose in their press releases. And that is Absolute Risk Reduction.

Relative Risk Reduction statistics are a half-truths. And a half-truth is a lie.

Here’s an example. If you have cancer and a doctor tells you that a combination of drugs will reduce your relative risk of dying by 50%, that sounds impressive and you would probably say yes to that treatment. However, your doctor could also explain it like this, “Your absolute risk of dying is only 2% and these drugs will drop it to 1%.” And you would be much less likely to say yes to treatment.

Absolute Risk Reduction is honest, transparent, fully-disclosed science.

Relative Risk Reduction is statistical sleight-of-hand. It’s marketing.

Analysis of the data published by the drug companies shows that the spike-protein-producing shots only reduce your Absolute Risk of symptomatic infection by 1%.

One. Percent. Reduction.

The same data measured two different ways says the drugs are either 95% effective or 1% effective.

Relative Risk Reduction is a classic drug industry tactic to make drugs look like they work much better than they actually do and is one example of the many ways we have been deceived since the start of the pandemic.

But I’m not asking you to take my word for any of this…

Justin Trudeau announced today that some COVID-19 measures need to “stay in place for now,” and that one of the reasons the country can start easing border measures is that “more and more Canadians are vaccinated every day.”

More than 75 per cent of eligible Canadians have received at least one dose of a COVID vaccine, and more than 21 per cent are “fully vaccinated.”

“The pandemic is not over,” said Trudeau. “There's still variants circulating around the world, so there's a number of important measures that need to stay in place for now.”

The prime minister turned to address firearms, stating that “building a better Canada means building a safer Canada,” adding that “last year, we banned assault weapons.”

Trudeau then attacked the Conservative Party for not supporting a ban on conversion therapy, not voting for the Liberal extension of CERB and not aiming to force the country to record net zero carbon emissions by 2050. “These are progressive bills that will make a real difference in the lives of Canadians,” explained the prime minister.

As for the lifting of COVID travel restrictions, Trudeau clarified Health Minister Patty Hajdu's announcement that fully vaccinated travellers can skip their quarantine and day eight COVID tests, stating that people will “still be tested” on arrival.

Manitoba has issued more than $2.6 million in COVID fines since April 2020

Since Manitoba's COVID enforcement efforts began in April 2020, the province has issued 4,910 warnings and 1,979 tickets, resulting in more than $2.6 million in fines to businesses and individuals.

Last week, between June 14 and 20, the province confirmed that they issued 87 warnings and 59 tickets related to COVID enforcement.

Of the 59 tickets:

46 tickets worth $1,296 were issued to individuals

11 tickets worth $298 were issued to individuals for failure to wear a mask in indoor public places

2 tickets worth $5,000 were issued to businesses

Of the 46 tickets worth $1,296, 35 were issued to individuals to relation to gatherings in private residences or outdoors.

10 of the 46 were related to failure to self-isolate, and the last one was handed to a sole proprietorship.

Manitoba's government also announced a plan to continue to patrol provincial parks until the end of September:

Manitobans are advised that conservation and park patrol officers are enforcing public health and state of emergency orders within provincial parks, and issued one ticket to an individual over the past week related to a gathering size.

The Manitoba government has extended the Additional Enforcement Personnel Regulation to Sept. 30 from the current repeal date of June 30 to maintain the capacity to enforce public health emergency orders and emergency health hazard orders made under the Public Health Act.

Earlier this month, Manitoba announced both a vaccine passport and a vaccine lottery with $2 million in cash and scholarships as potential prizes.

Independent MP Sloan (Hastings—Lennox and Addington) proposed the motion after a Liberal MP told him that he should “rethink his choices” if social media companies are suppressing his press conferences.

“Mr. Speaker, last week I hosted a Parliamentary press conference on the censorship of Canadian doctors and medical experts. Their testimony was truly shocking. Unfortunately, Facebook stopped my livestream in mid-conference. Despite this, the full press conference is now the most viewed video in history on CPAC's YouTube channel, with over 500,000 views.

“However, on Facebook and Twitter, they're still restricting the sharing of this video on their platforms.

“Given the importance to democracy, of Canadians seeing official parliamentary functions, does the minister denounce this censorship by Big Tech?”

Liberal MP Jennifer O'Connell (Pickering—Uxbridge) answered:

“Mr. Speaker, when it comes to the dissemination of misinformation and regarding this pandemic, I think the member opposite should… understand his role and responsibility as a parliamentarian and the trust that his constituents placed in him, this pandemic is serious, requires a serious response, and I would urge him to follow the rules. Two Catholic churches destroyed by fire in South Okanagan

Police are investigating after two Catholic churches were burned to the ground in the South Okanagan region.

The two churches, Sacred Heart and St. Gregory’s, went up in flames early Monday morning. Both churches were on land belonging to the local Penticton and Osoyoos Indian Bands, respectively.

In a statement, South Okanagan RCMP said the fires have been deemed suspicious but will not speculate on the cause or motive at this time.

“Should our investigations deem these fires as arson, the RCMP will be looking at all possible motives and allow the facts and evidence to direct our investigative action,” said Sgt. Jason Bayda.

“We are sensitive to the recent events, but won’t speculate on a motive.”

Several weeks ago, it was alleged that human remains were found at the nearby site of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School. The residential school was operated by the Catholic Church until its closure in 1978. A report from the company doing the investigation is expected to be released this month.

Penticton Indian Band Chief Greg Gabriel inferred that the burnings may have been a reaction to the discovery.

Speaking to Penticton Western News, Chief Gabriel condemned the burnings and said their church was an important part of their community.

“There are some mixed feelings. I understand there is a lot of anger in our community with the discovery of those 215 innocent, poor children’s graves. There is a lot of hurt. But this type of action doesn’t help if in fact it is found to be deliberate,” he said.

“This church has been here since 1911. It was a fixture in our community. Many in our community were members and involved in services. Some of our elders are attached to the church and have come here today very sad. They are hurting but also they understand.”

Last week, a Catholic Church in Vancouver was vandalized with graffiti. The vandals spray-painted the words “killers” and “release the records” on the front doors of St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Parish.

Iran just elected a mass murderer as its President.

That may sound hyperbolic, and I suppose it is.

I use the term “elected” loosely, since Iran is not a democracy. It holds sham elections that are widely boycotted by the Iranian people, and the list of candidates is limited to hardline Islamists within the brutal regime as approved by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

The second part of the sentence, that new Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is a mass murderer, is without question a statement of fact.

Most officials in the Iranian regime have blood on their hands. Iran operates a strict Islamist theocracy that routinely puts to death political dissidents, gay men and women, religious minorities, peaceful protesters and even teenagers.

But few Iranian officials have as much blood on their hands as Raisi.

When he was a young man, he rose up the ranks of the Islamist regime and by age 20, he became the Deputy Prosecutor of the Islamic Revolutionary Court. This court does not deal with criminal or civil matters, but instead focuses on political crimes.

This was in the 1980s, which was a particularly brutal time to be in Iran. Following the 1979 Islamist Revolution that overthrew the country’s monarch, and replaced him with a theocratic Ayatollah and Islamist government, the regime began cracking down on its political opponents.

The country’s prisons were filled with religious and political dissidents who were rounded up by Iran’s thuggish moral police force and convicted in dystopian kangaroo courts.

In the summer of 1988, Iran’s then-Ayatollah Khomeni issued a fatwa demanding all political prisoners be retried and if found guilty, put to death.

This ghoulish task was given to a number of government officials, which became known as the Death Commission — including 28-year-old Ebrahim Raisi.

Raisi and others visited Iran’s jails to interview prisoners.

The questions were simple. Are you a Muslim? No? Then that person would be put to death. Do you support the Mujahideen? Yes? That person would be hanged.

Within two minutes, this Death Commission would decide whether a prisoner would live or die — most were put to death.

This cruel madness continued for months, as the Death Commission ordered the killing of thousands of political prisoners in just a few weeks. Some activists put that number closer to 30,000.

The 1988 massacre has all the hallmarks of crimes against humanity. Families of the dead were not allowed to hold ceremonies or funerals, nor were they told where their loved ones were buried. The Iranian regime buried the bodies in mass graves and to this day has not acknowledged this unspeakable atrocity.

Fortunately for the world, Canada has acknowledged the 1988 massacre. The House of Commons unanimously recognized it as a crime against humanity.

I spoke to Kaveh Shahrooz, an Iranian-born Canadian lawyer and Senior Fellow with the Macdonald Laurier Institute, who led a campaign called Massacre88 in 2013.

“The idea was for Canada to become the first country in the world to adopt a motion that recognized these killings as constituting a crime against humanity,” he told me.

“If one country’s Parliament declared the other to have committed crimes against humanity, that is a pretty big obstacle.”

“Now we see the value, as Iran has a President who was very directly implicated in that.”

This will make it all but impossible for the Trudeau government to normalize relations with Iran — something he’s been promising to do since he was an opposition MP.

When it comes to the Iranian regime, the mask has slipped. While many on the political Left in Canada and the US — from Obama to Trudeau to Biden — insist that Iran is a country seeking to moderate and work with Western countries, the election of Raisi proves them wrong.

The Iranian regime has no shame, no remorse, no regard for human life and no interest in working with the West.

MPs move to issue warrant against Public Health Agency of Canada president

Parliamentarians are now demanding a warrant be issued against the president of the Public Health Agency of Canada Iain Stewart after he refused to hand over documents while censured before the House of Commons on Monday.

Stewart, who is the first non-MP to be summoned before the House for censure in at least 130 years, was rung out by members of the opposition after he failed to appear with the requested files concerning the firing of two scientists from a federal microbiology lab in Winnipeg.

“If this House doesn’t respect its own orders, who will? It’s as though someone said, ‘I don’t believe in this rule so I’m going to flout it. I don’t care about the consequences. I don’t care about the rules,’” Conservative MP Gérard Deltell said on Monday.

“We are 338 Canadians here in the House of Commons, but we are more than citizens. We are representatives of our constituents. When we don’t see respect for the House of Commons, we don’t see respect for Canadian citizens.”

On Monday, Deltell introduced a motion to have the Sergeant-at-Arms “enter into the premises of the Public Health Agency of Canada to search for and seize the documents.”

For weeks, members of the opposition have been pressing the Trudeau government to disclose details concerning why scientists Xiangguo Qiu and Kending Cheng were fired and removed from the National Microbiology Laboratory in 2019.

Xiangguo is being accused of sending samples of highly contagious diseases like Ebola and Henipah virus to China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology.

According to recent media reports, several other scientists were also found to have collaborated with researchers tied to the People’s Liberation Army of China.

In total, seven scientists participated in six different studies published between 2016 and 2020 while employed by the Canadian government.

This was the third order that Stewart had defied. Liberal Health Minister Patty Hajdu also recently stonewalled disclosures after telling members of the Canada-China Relations Committee that “national security” concerns were behind why the federal government refused to disclose the information.

Trudeau appoints former Liberal candidate to Senate post

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appointed a former two-time Liberal candidate to the Senate on Tuesday.

Bernadette Clement’s appointment as an “independent senator” was announced by the Prime Minister’s Office alongside two other newly-minted senators Hassan Yussuff and James Quinn.

Both in 2011 and in 2015, Clement ran as a candidate for the Liberal Party of Canada in Ontario and lost both times to former Conservative MP Guy Lauzon.

“Ms. Clement is a lawyer, the Executive Director of the Roy McMurtry Legal Clinic, and current Mayor of Cornwall, who has devoted much of her life to the betterment of the city,” a statement by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) writes.

“Through various professional and volunteer leadership roles, she has served many members of her community, including newcomers, women fleeing violence, and people with developmental disabilities. She is also a tireless advocate for injured workers, and the first Black woman to serve as mayor in Ontario.”

True North reached out to both Clement and the PMO for comment on the appointment but did not receive a response by the time this article was published.

According to the government, the Independent Advisory Board for Senate Appointments is in charge of the candidate-selection process. The board is billed as an “independent and non-partisan” federal body which informs the prime minister on appointments.

The board was first created by the Trudeau government in 2016 as an alleged attempt to sidestep the partisan nature of Senate appointments.

At the time of the board’s creation, Conservative critics blasted the decision saying that it effectively doesn’t change the reality of Senate appointments and ultimately gives the prime minister discretion on who gets chosen for the role.

“This does nothing to fundamentally change how senators are selected. The Senate nominations list which the panel creates will remain secret and non-binding, and Prime Minister Trudeau will have carte blanche to appoint senators who don’t appear on any recommended list,” said a spokesperson for Senator Claude Carigan at the time.

Public Safety Canada wants Canadians to wear a mask at the beach

In a tweet posted to the department’s official Twitter account on Monday, Public Safety Canada reminded Canadians to wear masks outdoors and practice physical distancing.

According to federal public health guidelines, the Canadian government recommends wearing masks in any shared space, whether indoor or outdoor, when there are people from outside of your household.

Included in a list of shared spaces are parks, backyards, outdoor markets, skating rinks and other recreational settings.

True North reached out to the Public Health Agency of Canada to seek clarification on mask wearing at beaches.

“As increased rates of community transmission of COVID-19 continue in many areas across Canada, and as new variants of the COVID-19 virus are identified, it remains important that you wear a non-medical mask,” a PHAC media relations official told True North.

Recent studies have shown that outdoor transmission rates for COVID-19 are very low and that outdoor recreation is generally safe in most circumstances and does not require mask-use.

As vaccination rates ramp up across Canada, several provinces are currently preparing to reopen and lift COVID-19 restrictions and public health orders.

Saskatchewan recently entered the second step of its reopening plan this week and announced that as of July 11, the province will end all COVID-19 public health restrictions.

Meanwhile, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney recently revealed that he intends on lifting nearly all restrictions in the province by this Canada Day.

“Prime Minister and various ministers said they were also horrified and promised action. But as of right now, the brutal reality is this: There is no new legislation, no new policies, no new regulatory mechanism, no new resources, no new measures for law enforcement to apply the current laws,” said Stubbs, who serves as the CPC shadow minister for public safety, last week at a press conference.

Stubbs led the way on a recent House of Commons’ Ethics Committee report which called on Trudeau’s government to crack down on Pornhub.

Last week, a report said the Ethics Committee recommended that Pornhub be held liable for not preventing explicit material of child sex abuse from being uploaded to its platform.

Stubbs said that Trudeau’s recent words saying he was “horrified” about what has happened to minors has not been followed up by “urgent action.”

“That is not too much for Canadians to ask or expect. And it’s already woefully and shamefully too late for so many victims,” said Stubbs.

Pornhub is owned by Montreal-based MindGeek and is the most viewed pornography website in the world. It has come under fire in recent months after reports surfaced that it has repeatedly allowed pornographic videos involving minors to be uploaded to its site.

A December 2020 New York Times report — titled “The Children of Pornhub: Why does Canada allow this company to profit off videos of exploitation and assault?” — gained international attention for its analysis of Pornhub’s allowance of illegal content involving minors to be uploaded to its site.

On Thursday, Stubbs recalled how she was “blown away” by the “resilience and courage” of the victims’ testimony, but was “horrified” that “the harmful, heartless, and demeaning treatment they endured” has come with no “consequences, and at the evasion of executives.”

“Now it is up to this government to look in the mirror and act,” said Stubbs.

As for MindGeek, company CEO Feras Antoon told the committee earlier in the year that sexually explicit material involving minors against their will has “no place on our platform, and it’s contrary to our values and our business model.”

Despite this, a $600 million lawsuit, filed in the Superior Court of Québec in December, but only recently reported, claims the site did host child pornography.

In addition to the Canadian lawsuit, there is an $80 million California lawsuit recently filed by 40 women from around the world that claims MindGeek aided a global trade of sexually exploitative photos of underage girls.

In a recent interview with Jonathon Van Maren, CPC MP Arnold Viersen said that “85 percent of 15- to 35-year-old males are viewing pornography on a weekly basis,” noting in particular that Canada has some of the highest viewership’s of digital pornography in the world.

Viersen is part of an All Party Parliamentary Group to End Modern Slavery, and he told Van Maren that the goal of the group is to stop Canada from being the “headquarters of the largest porn company in the world.”

A petition which calls upon Pornhub to be shuttered for “allegedly enabling and profiting from the sex trafficking and rape of women and children” currently has over 2 million signatures.

OTTAWA, Ontario, June 22, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — A controversial bill which would punish those helping children with gender confusion or unwanted same-sex attraction with jail time of up to five years passed third reading in Canada’s House of Commons today.

Led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, his government’s Bill C-6, often referred to as a “conversion therapy” ban, will now proceed to Canada’s Senate for review.

Bill C-6 passed with 263 votes in favor, and 63 votes against it. The bill had the support from the Liberal, New Democrat, Green, and Bloc Quebecois MPs.

Many Conservative Party (CPC) MPs voted against the bill, including former party leader MP Andrew Scheer, as well as MP Garnett Genuis. Independent MP Derek Sloan voted against the bill, as well, but current CPC leader MP Erin O’Toole voted in favor.

With only a few days left until the Senate breaks for summer, it is unlikely Bill C-6 will be looked at or voted on by the upper chamber until the fall sitting. Nevertheless, the Senate already announced has been introduced at first reading.

Bill C-6 was introduced by Justice Minister David Lametti on October 1, 2020. It defines “conversion therapy” as any “practice, treatment or service designed to change a person’s sexual orientation to heterosexual or gender identity to cisgender, or to repress or reduce non-heterosexual attraction or sexual behaviour.”

The bill has been called a “disgraceful” attack on parental freedoms by family groups.

Gwen Landolt of REAL Women told LifeSiteNews in early October that Bill C-6 is a “wicked” piece of legislation.

Today, Marty Moore, lawyer for the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF), told LifeSiteNews that Bill C-6 is a “deeply flaw piece of legislation.”

“While it purports to criminalize ‘conversion therapy,’ it does not target coercive and abusive practices. Rather, Bill C-6 would prevent Canadians, particularly LGBTQ Canadians, from accessing the counseling and support they voluntarily choose related to their gender and sexuality,” said Moore. “Instead, Bill C-6 imposes, with threat of criminal conviction and imprisonment, a one-size-fits-all medicalized transition approach to gender dysphoria. It further prevents LGBTQ Canadians from accessing counselling to reduce unwanted sexual behavior while allowing straight Canadians to do so.”

Last year, Jack Fonseca, Political Operations Director for Campaign Life Coalition (CLC), told LifeSiteNews that “there are no protections whatsoever in Bill C-6 for parents or pastors who, for example, discourage a gender-confused child from identifying as transgender and try to help them be at peace with the body in which they were born.”

Bill C-6 adds five offenses to the Criminal Code. It would be a crime punishable by up to five years to cause a minor under age 18 to undergo what is called “conversion therapy,” to remove a minor from Canada to undergo “conversion therapy” abroad, and to cause a person to undergo “conversion therapy” against his will.

Additionally, it would be a crime punishable by up to two years in jail to profit from providing “conversion therapy,” and to advertise an offer to provide “conversion therapy.”

Late last year, Bill C-6 was amended so that parents could get jail time of up to five years if they choose to continue to recognize their child’s biological sex.

At the second reading of the bill in October of 2020, Lametti essentially admitted that the federal conversion therapy ban would stop those who are consenting LGBTQ adults from being able to pay for any counseling services.

“We also recognize that criminalizing profiting from conversion therapy means that consenting adults would be prevented from accessing conversion therapy unless it is available free of charge,” said Lametti.

Ahead of the vote on Bill C-6, Sloan held a press conference today in Ottawa with a line-up of licensed psychologists and others who spoke out in opposition of it.

Google's recently revealed connections to virus research raise new questions about the company's COVID-19 censorship.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, California, June 22, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Recently unearthed reports have revealed that Google has long funded pathogen research by a collaborator of the Wuhan lab, from where COVID-19 is thought to have emerged, shedding new light on the strict censorship which the Big Tech company has enforced on discussions claiming that COVID-19 originated in a laboratory.

The National Pulse released a report June 19, noting that Google had been funding experiments conducted by Peter Daszak’s group EcoHealth Alliance, which itself has long partnered with the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) in conducting gain-of-function research, particularly in coronaviruses, as further explained below.

Writing for the National Pulse, Natalie Winters noted how the relationship between Google and EcoHealth Alliance spanned at least a decade, with Google sponsoring a 2010 study on bat flaviviruses. Peter Daszak, along with EcoHealth’s Vice President for science and outreach, Jonathan Epstein, were among the authors of that study, and expressed their thanks to “Google.org,” as well as to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Department of Defense, and the Rockefeller Foundation.

Then a 2014 study on “henipavirus spillover,” with Daszak listed as one of the authors, was again funded by “Google.org,” as well as USAID. The study is also linked to bat-originated viruses and their transmission to humans, with the introduction noting that the study will examine the “Zoonotic transmission of lethal henipaviruses (HNVs) from their natural fruit bat reservoirs,” and any future potential transmission.

One year later, Daszak and Epstein were among those who authored a study on “Macacine herpes.” The paper examined the transmission of that strain of herpes, MaHV1, which was widely found amongst macaques in Asia, and how it could pass to those in case contact with the animals. Once again, Google funded the research, along with USAID.

Finally, Winters pointed to a more recent Google-sponsored study from 2018, authored by Daszak and Epstein, along with a number of scientists from the Guangdong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention in southern China. The study itself is of considerable interest in light of COVID-19, as it deals with the concept of “behaviors and perceptions associated with transmission of pathogens with pandemic potential in highly exposed human populations at the animal-human interface.”

As Winters reports, the theme of the study is very much along the lines of Daszak’s later comments supporting a natural origin of COVID-19. It notes that such viruses and “zoonotic pathogens” are very likely to occur in the human-animal interactions which are very widespread in China. Possible places for this transmission to occur include “wet markets,” wrote the authors.

It was a wet market in Wuhan which was originally blamed for being the source of origin for COVID-19, not only by the mainstream media, but also by Daszak.

“Research has demonstrated that human-animal interfaces, such as within these wet markets, provide an ideal environment for infectious disease emergence, transmission, and amplification,” the study continued.

The Google-sponsored study also mentioned how SARS “emerged” in wet markets and was later discovered to have originated in bats.

Daszak’s relationship with Wuhan and COVID-19

Daszak himself has a long and somewhat tainted relationship with COVID-19 and the WIV, having funded research at the Wuhan lab for 15 years. Reports have already extensively noted how Daszak funded and collaborated with Dr. Shi Zheng-li, a world-renowned coronavirus scientist who works on bat-based, gain-of-function experimentation and heads up the WIV’s coronavirus studies.

Daszak’s organization, EcoHealth Alliance, along with the U.S. National Institutes of Health, funded (amongst others) a 2015 study by Dr. Shi, which manipulated bat spike proteins and the 2002 SARS virus in order to infect human cells.

Yet despite this knowledge, following the emergence of COVID-19, Daszak organized a letter, published in The Lancet in February 2020, categorically dismissing “conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin.” He also thanked Dr. Anthony Fauci for denouncing the idea that COVID had originated in a laboratory.

The Liberals plan to release a new bill targeting online hate speech before the House of Commons breaks for the Summer.

According to the National Post, Justice Minister David Lametti plans to table a bill that will “amend the Criminal Code and the Canadian Human Rights Act and to make related amendments to another Act (hate propaganda, hate crimes and hate speech).”

It is not immediately clear if the legislation will include regulation of internet content or only cover types of hate speech which the government consulted on last year.

The proposal comes as the Liberals try to pass the controversial internet regulation bill, C-10, which has been attacked for limiting free speech online.

Speaking at the Banff World Media Festival, Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault hinted at the forthcoming legislation, going so far as to admit the bill will be divisive.

“Now, this is going to be controversial. People think that C-10 was controversial. Wait till we table this legislation,” he said.

Lametti’s bill has the potential of reviving an extremely controversial former law — Section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act.

Section 13 was heavily criticized for going beyond hate speech, effectively prohibiting speech online that was perceived as offensive. At the time, the section was widely condemned by civil rights groups.

Section 13 was repealed in 2013 thanks to a private member bill from a Conservative MP, but Lametti’s parliamentary secretary, Arif Virani, confirmed that the Liberals are examining the section to see if any of it should be returned to.

True North fellow and free speech expert Lindsay Shepherd says government hate speech laws inevitably end up censoring legitimate free speech which some find offensive, adding that social media platforms already censor dissenting opinions.

“It all goes back to this: we don’t want the government defining online hate, because it will inevitably cast too wide of a net. We know that a Reddit forum for gender critical feminism was banned. A pro-life news site called LifeSiteNews had their YouTube channel banned. Rebel News was kicked off of PayPal,” she said.

“This shows us that if the views you’re expressing fall outside the liberal-progressive orthodoxy, you can and will be shut out — and with a return of section 13 or some other similar online hate speech law, Canadians who express non-politically correct opinions could potentially face fines or legal trouble.”

In 2019, Shepherd testified at the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights on regulation of hate speech online.

In another potential indicator of how public opinion has turned against Bill Gates in the weeks since he and his now ex-wife Melinda Gates disclosed their divorce plans, financier Warren Buffett has resigned as a trustee of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Buffett's position on the board was a major PR coup for the foundation, which is one of the world's biggest charitable enterprises.

Buffett, now 90, announced his decision to step down from the Gates Foundation board in a statement that also announced he had reached the halfway point in giving his Berkshire Hathaway shares to charity. Buffett gave away another $4.1 billion in Berkshire shares to give foundations.

In a statement shared with CNBC, Buffett said he was resigning from the Gates Foundation board "just as I have done at all corporate boards other than Berkshire's".

"For years I have been a trustee – an inactive trustee at that – of only one recipient of my funds, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. I am now resigning from that post, just as I have done at all corporate boards other than Berkshire’s," Buffett said in a statement. "The CEO of BMG is Mark Suzman, an outstanding recent selection who has my full support. My goals are 100% in sync with those of the foundation, and my physical participation is in no way needed to achieve these goals."

While it's true that Buffett has slowly been pulling back from his non-Berkshire activities for years now, the timing of his departure from the Gates Foundation board is certainly curious. As Buffett himself concedes, he was an "inactive" member of the board. The board includes two other members, Bill and Melinda. Maybe Buffett simply couldn't stomach the awkwardness at board meetings.

Melinda Gates reportedly divorced her husband over his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, something that Buffett has been mum about - though Warren Buffett was never tied to Epstein like many other titans of American business and finance have been.

Buffett has contributed $27 billion to the Gates Foundation over the past 15 years. Mark Suzman, the foundation’s chief executive officer, told employees last month that he was in talks to strengthen "the long-term sustainability and stability of the foundation."

Suzman "is an outstanding recent selection who has my full support," Buffett said. Suzman has insisted that both Bill and Melinda remain committed to the Foundation even after their divorce.

June 23, 2021 (Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms) – The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms is pleased to announce that the federal government has dropped a ticket for $3,450 issued against a woman who travelled to Costa Rica and returned with three rescued dogs. The client, “Sunshine” (not her real name) and her three pups Bella, Sparky and Pablo, crossed into Canada by land after flying into Seattle.

Early in 2021, the woman travelled to Costa Rica for medical reasons and while there came across three sick and abandoned dogs, one of whom had been hit by a car. The woman was determined to find loving homes for the dogs in Canada. She flew with them to Seattle because flight restrictions prevented her from flying directly into Canada.

As required by Transport Canada, the woman had obtained a negative PCR test but was delayed while attempting to cross the border with the dogs.

When she presented herself at the border, the government agents told her that she would have go to Washington to get another PCR test or stay in a domestic quarantine hotel because her test had expired 24 hours earlier. Due to the difficulty of finding a hotel that would care for the three dogs, the woman decided to cross the border by road and was issued a $3450 ticket for not presenting a valid PCR test, and for refusing to stay at one of the federal government’s federal isolation facilities.

“The rules for returning travelers are not only arbitrary and oppressive, they are also devoid of compassion and flexibility,” stated Jay Cameron, Litigation Director with the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms. “Our client is a not a health risk to the country. There is no rational reason why she cannot quarantine in her own home as opposed to in one of the federal government’s internment facilities.”

Justice Centre lawyers appeared in Federal Court in the first week of June on behalf of eleven clients who are challenging the government’s policy of forcing returning Canadians into a federally approved hotel at their own expense. The Justice Centre maintains that sequestering travelers in federal facilities is a violation of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The Federal Court ruled that forcing returning Canadians to be confined to federal facilities against their will is not an infringement of their Charter rights. The decision will be appealed.

“The forced detention of returning Canadian air travelers in federal facilities is arbitrary, unnecessary, and totalitarian,” states Justice Centre Litigation Director, Jay Cameron.

“These unconstitutional hotel quarantines were imposed on Canadians without parliamentary scrutiny or debate by a government that has repeatedly demonstrated it has little respect for the Charter of the democratic process. Canadians across the country are anxiously waiting for the judiciary to impose limits on government overreach of this type as has happened repeatedly in other countries around the world,” adds Mr. Cameron.

National File had reported on a viral Twitter thread by Tami Burages, the aunt of a 13-year-old Michigan boy, Jacob Clynick. Burages said that her nephew died just days after getting a second dose of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine and that an initial autopsy revealed unexpected heart issues.

“A week ago today my brother’s 13-year-old son had his 2nd covid shot,” she tweeted on Sunday, posting a picture of her nephew’s vaccination card. “Less than 3 days later he died.” Burages said that his “initial autopsy results (done Friday) were that his heart was enlarged and there was some fluid surrounding it.” “He had no known health problems,” she added. “Was on no medications.”

“If Jacob had not received the 2nd shot, we believe he would be alive today,” Burages, who describes herself as “pro-vaccine,” continued. She tagged the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), saying that the agency “needs to investigate this.” Burages has since deleted the thread, which quickly gained tens of thousands of likes and retweets.

Hundreds of cases of potentially life-threatening heart disorders after COVID-19 vaccination have been reported in young males, the CDC announced earlier this month. The agency was scheduled to hold an emergency meeting about the reports last week, but postponed it due to Juneteenth. Israeli authorities already have said that the heart issues, which appear to occur disproportionately in men, are likely linked to the vaccines.

Three hours after National File tweeted about their article on Burages’ posts, Twitter locked the website out of its account for 12 hours. The Big Tech platform said that National File’s tweet “violated Twitter Rules” for “spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19.”

“Twitter’s censorship here is as repugnant as it is ridiculous,” National File editor-in-chief Tom Pappert said shortly after the ban. “National File does not publish medical misinformation. We published a report containing direct quotes from a woman who — using Twitter — expressed concern about the death of her 13-year-old nephew, Jacob Clynick, which occurred after he received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine,” he said.

Pappert noted that National File’s account was locked even though Burages’ tweets were not deleted. “It appears Twitter is attempting to censor news outlets for the crime of reporting on the concerns of a recently bereaved family member,” he said.

Twitter restored National File’s account later on Monday, claiming the account was suspended “in error,” National File said. Nevertheless, when National File reporter Jack Hadfield celebrated the reversal on Twitter, he likewise was banned from the social media platform for 12 hours, allegedly for violating COVID-19 guidelines.

“How on Earth can Twitter reverse the suspension of a news outlet, and then lock out that same reporter from his personal account, for using almost identical language in their tweets? If this is yet another ‘error’ on Twitter’s part, it is certainly concerning that these ‘errors’ only ever seem to go in one direction,” Hadfield, whose account also has since been restored, said on Tuesday.

Twitter has banned numerous, often conservative, users, including the House Oversight Committee and congressional personnel, only to claim to have done so “in error.”

The World Health Organization quietly changed its website this week to remove a bolded statement advising against children receiving COVID-19 vaccines.

The statement, which had been circulating online, said the following in bold:

"Children should not be vaccinated for the moment."

The sub-headline, which can be found in screenshots and archived versions, appears to have been removed from the active page along with a sentence stating that there is not yet enough evidence to recommend the vaccines for children, opting for a rewording further down the page. The old version read:

"There is not yet enough evidence on the use of vaccines against COVID-19 in children to make recommendations for children to be vaccinated against COVID-19."

While the updated version now shows:

"More evidence is needed on the use of the different COVID-19 vaccines in children to be able to make general recommendations on vaccinating children against COVID-19.

WHO's Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) has concluded that the Pfizer/BionTech vaccine is suitable for use by people aged 12 years and above. Children aged between 12 and 15 who are at high risk may be offered this vaccine alongside other priority groups for vaccination. Vaccine trials for children are ongoing and WHO will update its recommendations when the evidence or epidemiological situation warrants a change in policy."

Nova Scotia MLA tells Trans-Canada blockaders to stand down; premier slams “unacceptable” border protest

More than 100 transport trucks are backed up at the Nova Scotia–New Brunswick border, as the local NS MLA who called for the blockade yesterday asks protesters to stand down.

Yesterday, MLA Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin called on her constituents to join her at the provincial border to block the highway in protest. The shutdown is in response to Nova Scotia's Liberal government's COVID-19 travel rules, which were changed suddenly today to deny unvaccinated New Brunswick residents entry to Nova Scotia without isolation.

Progressive Conservative MLA Smith-McCrossin (Cumberland North) represents the border region between the two maritime provinces, and the Trans Canada Highway 104 is the main point of entry.

The highway remained closed as of this morning, according to a social media post from the local RCMP.

Police on scene are blocking traffic.

This morning, at 11:39 a.m. AT., Smith-McCrossin updated her Facebook profile to announce that she had been waiting for Premier Iain Rankin at his office in downtown Halifax since 8:30 a.m. AT and would not leave “until the Premier meets with [her] on your behalf”. She also encouraged people who are “keeping the TransCanada highway closed to allow traffic to move for everyone's safety” and to head to Halifax two hours from the border to join her on Thursday.

Several minutes later, at 11:53 a.m. AT., the premier uploaded a message to his Facebook profile to denounce the blockade and asked residents to give the government and their chief medical officer Dr. Robert Strang another week:

The Trans-Canada is blocked today because of the reckless actions of MLA Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin. Truck drivers are not getting across the border; the hospital in Amherst is now only offering essential services; & schools are not able to open.

This is unacceptable and the MLA must tell her protesters to stand down.

I ask all Nova Scotians to trust public health for one more week as we get more doses in arms and protect our province. Let’s give Dr. Strang and public health the confidence we have for the past 16 months.

There are two land border entries connecting Nova Scotia to the rest of the country. The main entry is the Trans-Canada just outside of Amherst. A second, smaller entry in Tidnish Bridge is reportedly also blocked, but protesters are allegedly letting some travellers through.

Senator Pamela Wallin pledged on Tuesday to do everything within her power to stop Bill C-10 from being rushed through the Senate and becoming law before parliamentarians go on summer recess.

“At 1:30 am this morning the House of Commons passed Bill C-10. Now, with just two days left on the calendar the Senate is being asked to pass it. No scrutiny, no oversight- we haven’t even seen the secret amendments they passed. ‘Kangaroo court’ would be an understatement,” tweeted Wallin.

“The government has had 6 years to pass legislation it wants. It is not our job in the Senate to rubber stamp and give up our constitutional responsibilities just because they want fodder for an election- especially if it means killing free speech.”

Bill C-10 passed its third reading in the House of Commons with 196 votes for the legislation and 112 votes against. Liberal MPs were joined by their NDP, Green Party and Bloc Quebecois colleagues in supporting the motion while Conservative MPs opposed the bill.

“I will do everything I can to make sure this bill isn’t rammed through. Standing up to Bill C-10 is standing up against censorship and standing up for free speech. If we don’t say NO now, it will be too late,” continued Wallin.

During a heated debate on the legislation in the House of Commons, Conservative MPs accused the Trudeau government of politicizing the law and threatening the free speech rights of Canadians.

“The bill had several flaws and we were in a hurry to find common ground, but sadly, the government amended it along the way. I believe that is where the problem lies. The government, without notice and despite a pretense of collaboration, was paving the way so that social media could become official broadcasters with all the consequences that could have,” Conservative MP Alain Reyes told the House of Commons.

“Even worse, the government’s willingness to play partisan politics, by framing the issue as being between freedom of expression and the artists themselves, offended many people. Under no circumstance could we let the Liberals get away with that. We will always work to protect freedom of expression.”

Other senators including Conservative Senator Leo Housakos have indicated that they do not intend to oblige the Liberals and rush the bill into law.

Civil liberties group urges Liberals to end use of facial recognition tech

The Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA) is calling on the Liberal Party of Canada (LPC) to immediately end its practice of using facial recognition technology to verify the identities of voters during the nomination process.

According to the Globe and Mail, the CCLA sent a letter to Liberals asking them to “cease and desist” their use of the invasive technology.

CCLA executive director Michael Bryant and privacy and surveillance program director Brenda McPhail noted that the Liberal’s “use of the controversial technology takes unfair advantage of its exemption from Canadian privacy laws, and sends the wrong message to municipal, provincial and federal election officials that this technology is ready for prime time.”

“By using it for the purposes of nominating candidates for federal election, LPC is tacitly endorsing an unreliable, racist technology,” the letter read.

Currently the Liberal Party’s official website does not make any mention of facial recognition technology or how identities are verified.

“As soon as a nomination voter is verified, associated information is deleted immediately and automatically, and not retained,” Liberal Party spokesperson Braedan Caley told the Globe and Mail.

The facial recognition technology that the party employs is executed by the California-based company Jumio.

According to Bryant, there is a lack of clarity and transparency when it comes to how the information is collected, stored and used.

“This is the problem: there are so many unanswered questions and unknowns because this is an entirely unregulated technology,” Bryant told the Globe and Mail.

“Its so private, its so unique, it works because it creates a code that identifies you, just like a finger print is a code that identifies.”

Justice commissioner Didier Reynders and market commissioner Thierry Breton will be preparing the letter to Hungary, according to POLITICO.

Hungary’s sweeping new anti-pedophilia law prohibits showing pornographic content or depictions of homosexuality or transgenderism to minors under 18. It includes other child protection provisions, like regulations on sexual education, tougher rules against child pornography, and the creation of a new sex offender registry.

Von der Leyen called the bill “a shame,” claiming it “goes against all the values, the fundamental values of the European Union.” “So, I will use all the powers of the Commission to ensure that the rights of all EU citizens are guaranteed,” she added. Her comments made no mention of the religious and political rights of majority-Christian Hungary, whose conservative supermajority in parliament passed the child protection bill with a wide majority last Tuesday.

The European Commission’s initial action comes as left-wing governments of several European states clamor for retaliation against Hungary. 17 countries have joined a letter initiated by Belgium calling on the Commission to take Hungary to the European Court of Justice, if necessary, to negate the anti-pedophilia bill, the Belgian government announced yesterday. Historically Catholic Ireland, Italy, and Spain have joined the statement, as have France and Germany.

If Budapest ignores the European Commission’s letter, the Commission can start an infringement procedure to try to stop the bill once it takes effect. If the Hungarian government then refuses to comply, Hungary could be tried in the Court of Justice and could face financial sanctions.

The European Union already has begun Article 7 proceedings against both Hungary and Poland, which have the potential to strip the countries of their EU voting rights. European ministers were slated to meet with officials from the two conservative Eastern European nations regarding the sanctions procedure on Tuesday, EUobserver reported.

Christian conservative artist Bryson Gray has song deleted by Spotify

Hip-hop artist and Christian conservative Bryson Gray has had his song "Safe Space feat. Patriot J" removed by streaming platform Spotify without apparent cause.

Gray, who has enjoyed recent success with his album Bold as a Lion: Season 1 reaching the top 10 on iTunes hip-hop charts, appears to be the first major artist to have content removed by Spotify.

"I've been in the music industry for a long time and I've never experienced anything as crazy as this," Gray told Rebel News.

"It's crazy, but I guess it is what it is," he said.

According to Gray, after contesting the removal of his song, he contacted Spotify who told him to seek answers from his distributor TuneCore.

TuneCore made headlines in early 2021 when they blocked the distribution of Christian artist Sean Feucht to digital platforms, a decision they later reversed.

However, Gray says this isn't the case for him, as his song has only been removed from Spotify and not other digital platforms.

In a screenshot posted to Twitter, TuneCore appears to tell Gray "…this was an internal decision from Spotify, and they reserve the rights to remove content that violates their policies."

In subsequent tweets, Spotify is shown telling Gray to once again reach out to his distributor, and that they are "unable to comment further" on the issue.

Several high-profile artists such as R. Kelly, XXXTentacion and Morgan Wallen have been removed from Spotify's playlists for various reasons such as "hateful conduct," but it doesn't appear at this time that other artists have suffered the same fate as Gray.

Residential school protest reportedly behind vandalism at decommissioned Mennonite church in Saskatchewan

Vandals left broken windows, beer bottles and a note at the old Horse Lake Mennonite Church near Duck Lake, Saskatchewan over the weekend.

The Horse Lake Mennonite Church was decommissioned in a service in 2016 after 74 years and purchased by local farmer Stan Neufeld, who told media that they had lost basically “every window”.

According to LaRongeNow, the vandals left a note inside the church building indicating that the damage was influenced by the reports out of Kamloops that 215 bodies were found near a former residential school:

Neufeld—who has lived in the community for 40 years— says he bought the church so it could remain a ‘keepsake’ for the community, and as somewhere quiet for locals and visitors to continue to go.

“We’ve got a register [guest book] there and there’s people who sign it when they come through. There’s [even] a lady in town who goes there and plays piano once and a while,” he said.

Neufeld said they found empty beer cans among the broken glass inside the church Sunday, and a note that had been left under a rock that suggested the vandalism may have been done as a form of protest against the recent residential school discovery in B.C.

RCMP told paNOW that no arrests have been made in connection to the vandalism, but Neufeld “suggested he had little confidence the ‘kids’ responsible for the damage would be brought to book.”

Neufeld's daughter Shelly Ann described the damage and asked for donations to fix the broken windows in a Facebook post:

On the weekend some people decided to break every single window in our special little church in Horse Lake. We are devastated. We would love to continue our open door policy in our little church for people to feel free to come and play piano, sing praises, read the literature and reminisce in this building that has brought so much hope and love to so many over the years. 23-year-old Ikar Mao was sentenced by a federal court to serve 49 months in prison and a 12 month probation period on Wednesday. However, due to his pre-trial detention, the accused will not spend a single day further behind bars.

Mao pleaded guilty to joining the violent terrorist organization ISIS in 2019. As a result of his guilty plea, Crown prosecutors agreed on Monday to drop a second charge against Mao and separate charges against his wife Haleema Mustafa.

“Mao undertook the trip to Turkey in July 2019 with the express purpose of crossing the border into Syria, and eventually moving to ISIS controlled territory,” court documents claim.

“Mao did this with the intention of making himself available to ISIS and/or for the benefit of ISIS.”

Mao and Mustafa were arrested after flying to Turkey in July near the country’s border with Syria. It is believed that Mustafa arranged the trip and paid for the plane tickets which the couple used to fly out of Toronto.

According to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, charges against Mustafa were dropped after considering “her role, the evidence against her, and the public safety protection assessment.”

Evidence submitted to the court shows that Mao had downloaded an ISIS manual which guided budding extremists on how to migrate to the so-called Islamic State.

Additionally, Mao had purchased several items recommended by the guide before embarking on his journey.

Upon returning to Canada in 2019, Mao was apprehended by RCMP officers and had his electronic devices seized. ISIS propaganda was found on the devices.

According to Public Safety Canada, there are approximately 250 Canadian Extremist Travellers (CETs) currently abroad and within Canada.

“Of the estimated 190 CETs currently abroad, nearly half have travelled to Turkey, Syria and Iraq. The remaining CETs are located in Afghanistan, Pakistan and parts of North and East Africa. These individuals have travelled to support and facilitate extremist activities and, in some cases, directly participate in violence,” writes the Government of Canada.

The Trudeau government wants the Federal Court to intervene and prevent the disclosure of documents regarding the firing of two federal scientists accused of collaborating with China.

Prior to the censure of Public Health Agency of Canada president Iain Stewart on Tuesday, court filings show that Attorney General David Lametti submitted an application declaring that the documents contained “information which if disclosed would be injurious to international relations or national defence or national security.”

House of Commons Speaker Anthony Rota was named as the respondent in the application and the matter could eventually reach a public hearing.

The Conservatives have been pressuring Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to disclose a trove of files related to the removal of Xiangguo Qiu and Kending Cheng from the National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg.

Prior to Monday’s censure, Stewart had refused to obey three prior government orders by the Special Committee on Canada-China Relations to disclose the documents.

Liberal Health Minister Patty Hajdu has also refused to oblige fellow parliamentarians claiming that national security reasons prevent the government from releasing the files.

Both scientists were escorted out of the federal facility following an RCMP raid in 2019.

The government has refused to reveal the exact nature of Kending and Xiangguo’s dismissal but claim that it does not have to do with the scientists sending samples of deadly viruses like Ebola and Henipah to the Wuhan Institute of Virology upon request.

According to media reports, several scientists employed at the lab also collaborated with researchers tied to China’s People’s Liberation Army.

Parliamentarians rejected a motion by Independent MP Derek Sloan to sanction Facebook and Twitter for censoring a press conference Sloan held last week.

During the conference, Sloan appeared with a number of medical health professionals who detailed ongoing attempts to silence and reprimand them for speaking out against the prevailing COVID-19 narrative.

“Mr. Speaker, last week I hosted a Parliamentary press conference on the censorship of Canadian doctors and medical experts. Their testimony was truly shocking. Unfortunately, Facebook stopped my livestream in mid-conference. Despite this, the full press conference is now the most viewed video in history on CPAC‘s YouTube channel, with over 500,000 views,” said Sloan.

“However, on Facebook and Twitter, they’re still restricting the sharing of this video on their platforms. Given the importance to democracy of Canadians seeing official parliamentary functions, does the minister denounce this censorship by Big Tech?”

In response to Sloan being censored, Liberal MP Jennifer O’Connell implied that Sloan was spreading “misinformation” by hosting the event.
