Hillary Clinton's Brother & Rare Gold Mining Permit

Tony Rodham is the youngest brother of Hillary Rodham Clinton. He is a former repo man, prison guard and private detective who used to work to secure foreign financing for a company. In October 2013, Tony Rodham joined the advisory board of VCS Mining, a Delaware-based company that was planning a gold mine in the Cap-Haïtien and was awarded the contract for carrying mining activities. It was a both lucrative and controversial deal, because Haiti has an estimated gold reserve of about $20 billion and the permit for mining was not issued to anyone in the last 50 years.

It was later revealed that the Haitian government was agreed to accept a royalty rate from the VCS Mining which was at least half the standard rate at 2.5%.

The contract also came with a privilege to renew the mining project in Morne Bossa for up to 25 years.

However, when the mine permit was suspended in early 2013 due to environmental and level of foreign ownership issues, another board member of VCS mining, Jean-Max Bellerive, a former Haitian prime minister was involved to persuade Haitian Senators to support the project.

DEA Confirms Former Informant Arrested in Haitian President’s Assassination

A Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) official confirmed that a suspect allegedly involved in the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse was a former informant to the agency.

A DEA official told Fox News and other news outlets Tuesday that “At times, one of the suspects in the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse was a confidential source to the DEA.”

After the assassination of Moïse earlier this week, the suspect reached out to his DEA contacts, while a DEA official called on him to surrender to local authorities, the spokesperson added.

“DEA is aware of reports that President Moïse’s assassins yelled ‘DEA’ at the time of their attack. These individuals were not acting on behalf of DEA,” the spokesperson continued.

Haitian authorities last week arrested two Haitian-American men, Joseph Vincent, 55, and James Solages, 35, and charged them with joining 26 Colombians in the fatal attack on Haitian President Jovenel Moïse.

Texas Democrat Responds to Governor’s Threat: ‘I Can’t Get Arrested’ Because No Crime Committed

A Texas Democrat lawmaker on Tuesday said she is not worried about Gov. Greg Abbott’s promise to arrest her and other Democrat lawmakers who left Texas to prevent a special legislative session.

“I don’t worry—probably because I know the law, and the governor knows the law, as well. I’m a criminal defense attorney, and so I understand that I’ve not committed a crime, so I can’t get arrested,” Rep. Jasmine Crockett, a Democrat, said during an interview on CNN.

Crockett further claimed the Texas Speaker of the House can only call to have the lawmakers detained, not arrested.

“I’m not worried about the threat of being arrested. The most that can happen is that we can be detained, which is why we got out of the state. The governor of Texas has no jurisdiction outside of the state of Texas, along with [the Texas Department of Public Safety],” Crockett said.

In a move underscoring the political brinkmanship in the state, Texas Democrats confirmed Monday they flew via a chartered plane to Washington D.C. after walking out on Republicans’ proposed election overhaul bill. Republicans say the bill is needed to secure the state’s elections and restore Texans’ confidence in their elections, while Democrats have said it would unfairly target minority groups and is tantamount to voter suppression.

On May 30, during the previous session, Democrats walked out at the last minute, preventing Republicans—who have a majority in the Legislature—from passing the voting bill. As a result, Abbott called for a special legislative session that was supposed to start Tuesday before most House Democrats left the state of Texas.

The KraneShares MSCI ETF is “co-managed by Bosera Asset Management,” a Chinese Communist Party-linked investment firm that manages part of the country’s National Social Security Fund. At the time of publication, the fund’s primary investments include state-owned companies such Kweichow Moutai and Wuliangye Yibin. Competitors to American companies, such as China’s top electric vehicle battery maker Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd (​CATL), also make up the ETF.

Companies comprising Welch’s other Chinese government-linked investment – KraneShares CSI ETF – include Chinese social media and technology platforms that routinely censor users on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party. Tencent, which has been flagged by the U.S. State Department as a “tool of the Chinese government,” accounts for the largest investment of the fund.

David Cameron Was Paid More Than $1 Million To Lobby For Greensill Before Collapse

After months of reporting on Greensill Capital's close ties to high-ranking Conservative politicians in the UK (who tried to hook the failing company up with government-backed COVID-relief loans that were supposed to go to small businesses) the FT revealed on Tuesday that former British PM David Cameron - who has seen his reputation sullied by the business paper's reporting - was paid a salary of more than $1MM a year by the firm during his stint as a senior advisor.

Cameron received generous compensation for what was supposed to be a 'part-time' advisory role. He was hired to work 25 days a year as an advisor to the company's board and earned the equivalent of $40K per day. The FT described the lobbying scandal that has befallen Cameron as "one of the biggest" to afflict Westminster in a generation.

And remember, this isn't the first time that Cameron and his family's wealth have been dragged into the spotlight. He endured plenty of embarrassing headlines following the Panama Papers leaks.

As the virus spread last spring, Cameron lobbied top officials in Boris Johnson's government on at least 56 documented occasions in an attempt to secure government money for Greensill.

The collapse of the firm's trade-financing business, which was being used as a slush fund to obscure the true debt exposure of certain SoftBank-backed companies, forced Credit Suisse to freeze $10 billion in trade-finance funds that had been marketed as low-risk investments to some of the bank's most elite customers (sound familiar?).

What's more, when Greensill eventually won access to a coronavirus lending scheme for large businesses, it passed on its full £400MM allowance of taxpayer-backed loans to companies linked to Sanjeev Gupta, a top Greensill client whose metals business is now facing an investigation into fraud.

Cameron's salary made him one of the most well-compensated figures at Greensill. Yet, he insists that his lobbying for the firm wasn't motivated by financial gain.

US Cracks Down On China Abuse, Warns American Firms Face Legal Risks Using Forced-Labor Suppliers

In the latest escalation of tensions between the U.S. and China, the U.S. Department of State, Department of the Treasury, Department of Commerce, and the Department of Homeland Security issued a supply chain advisory, warning U.S. companies operating or doing business in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (Xinjiang) and elsewhere in China to abandon those supply chains or face consequences.

The advisory comes as the US has been an outspoken critic of the Chinese using forced labor, such as the Uyghurs, ethnic Kazakhs, ethnic Kyrgyz, and other Muslim minority groups, in factories in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and other manufacturing hubs.

The advisory highlights three main types of supply chain exposure to entities involved in human rights abuses presented in this advisory are:

Assisting in developing surveillance tools for the P.R.C. government in Xinjiang;

Relying on labor or goods sourced in Xinjiang, or from factories elsewhere in China implicated in the forced labor of individuals from Xinjiang in their supply chains, given the prevalence of forced labor and other labor abuses in the region; and

Aiding in the construction of internment facilities used to detain Uyghurs and members of other Muslim minority groups, and/or in the construction of manufacturing facilities that are in close proximity to camps operated by businesses accepting subsidies from the P.R.C. government to subject minority groups to forced labor.

It also said, "businesses with potential exposure in their supply chain to entities that engage in human rights abuses in Xinjiang or to facilities outside Xinjiang that use forced labor from Xinjiang in the manufacture of goods intended for domestic and international distribution should be aware of the reputational, economic, and legal risks of involvement with such entities."

The advisory said for companies to "mitigate reputational and other risks," they should complete immediate due diligence policies and procedures to make sure their supply chains in China don't include forced labor.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken commented on the advisory via a tweet that read, "This will help U.S. businesses take steps to ensure their supply chains are not tainted by forced labor or other human rights abuses."

Texas Democrats to Lock State House Voting Machines

Texas Democrats demanded Tuesday for the Texas House journal clerk to lock the state house voting machines, thereby denying the GOP majority a quorum needed to proceed with election integrity legislation.

Chair of the Texas House Democrat Caucus and State Rep. Chris Turner (D) stated, “Minutes ago, at least 57 letters were delivered to the house journal clerk directing the [Texas] House to lock our voting machines and not unlock them until we provide express permission to do so upon our return to the [Texas] capitol.”

“It takes two-thirds of the body present to constitute a quorum, so 100 members,” Turner said, “and we vote in Texas and we register our attendance by use of voting machines on our desks.”

The U.S. Department of the Treasury on Monday lifted sanctions on the export of gas to socialist Venezuela, a boon to the dictatorship in Caracas and its patron government in communist Cuba, which struggles to suppress mounting opposition and calls for the regime’s total abolition.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issued a general license number 40, permitting “all transactions and activities related to the exportation or reexportation, directly or indirectly, of liquefied petroleum gas to Venezuela” as well as the socialist regime’s state-owned affiliates, specifically rescinding restrictions that then-President Donald Trump imposed via three executive orders in 2018 and 2019. The license remains valid through July 8, 2022.

OFAC left intact sanctions on individual Venezuelan government officials, many of whom allegedly maintain ties with drug cartels, human trafficking organizations, or terrorist cells. Television star Diosdado Cabello, the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela PSUV) and Maduro’s second-in-command, has for years been identified as a major figure in the international drug trade, with informants naming him as the leader of the Cartel de los Soles. The group, run out of the Venezuelan military, operates an international cocaine ring.

Formerly the richest nation in Latin America – following the decline of previously richest nation Cuba under communism – due to its vast oil reserves, years of socialist mismanagement have driven the Venezuelan economy into the ground. Inflation in particular has annihilated citizens’ personal wealth and forced a majority of Venezuelans to eschew the local currency in favor of foreign bills will stable value.

A 2020 study revealed that a majority of transactions in Venezuela occurred using the U.S. dollar as a medium. The economy has deteriorated to the extent that citizens have resorted to scavenging food from street trash to avoid starvation. Macron: Vaccine Passports Will Be Mandatory for Restaurants, Bars, Transport in France

Vaccine passports for bars, restaurants, and public transport will become mandatory in France starting next month, President Emmanuel Macron announced in a national address on Monday evening.

Mr Macron said that it will be necessary to curtail the freedoms of the unvaccinated in France to supposedly slow the spread of the so-called Delta (Indian) variant of the Chinese coronavirus.

“Our choice is simple: to put the restrictions on the unvaccinated rather than on all. This is the meaning of the health pass that will be extended,” the French president announced.

The draconian restrictions will mean that citizens of France will either have to scan in via QR code or present a document proving that they have either been fully vaccinated or have recovered from the Wuhan virus to enter businesses such as restaurants, bars, cinemas, theatres, and shopping centres as well as to use public transport by early August.

Depending on the evolution of the situation, we will ask ourselves the question of the extension of the health pass to other activities,” Macron added.

Starting from July 21st, anyone over the age of 12 in France will have to present a “health pass” to attend concerts, festivals, shows, or to enter amusement parks.

Mr Macron has also announced that starting on September 15th, healthcare workers and volunteers at care homes will be required to be vaccinated. He said that vaccination is a “matter of individual responsibility… but also a matter of our freedom.”

Clarifying the position, French Health Minister Olivier Véran said that those healthcare workers who fail to get vaccinated by the September deadline “will no longer be able to work and will no longer be paid”.

Alongside the other measures, curfews have been reinstated in the French territories of Martinique and Reunion Island.

The scare tactics of the speech may have achieved the government’s goal of increasing vaccinations, as the French online vaccination portal Doctolib.fr crashed as a result of increased search traffic following Macron’s speech.

The announcement from Macron came as British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was announcing that all legal lockdown restrictions would be lifted in England starting from next week.

In France, approximately 40 per cent of the adult population has been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, with 53.1 per cent having had at least one jab. This is compared to around 60 per cent in the UK who have had two jabs and 87 per cent having had at least one dose of the vaccine.

While the UK and the U.S. have been pushing towards loosening restrictions, countries across the European continent have been increasingly implementing draconian health state regulations in order to force people into taking the vaccine.

In Greece, for example, the government announced last month that it would allow businesses to open fully as long as they only catered to people who have been vaccinated.

The discriminatory practice may extend to Italy, where the government is reportedly considering Chinese social credit-style restrictions on travel, forcing trains to give preferential treatment to the vaccinated.

The socialist government of Spain has also announced that it would be reimposing curfews in Catalonia and Valencia amid rising cases among younger people.

Hungarian Speaker: Totalitarian Liberalism Successor of ‘Nazis and Communists’, Will ‘Destroy Europe’

The Hungarian Parliament’s speaker has spoken out against the “new totalitarian ambition” of liberalism in the European Union, saying he would not vote to join the bloc today.

László Kövér, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, said that he “did not vote yes with a good heart” during the Hungarian referendum on joining the EU in 2003, but judged that, all things considered, membership would strengthen the country’s finances and provide it with an international platform to assert its national interests.

He told Kossuth Rádió that “if there were a referendum now, I would most certainly vote no” to joining — but was clear that, with Hungary already being an EU member-state, he does not favour pulling out, as the United Kingdom has done.

Earlier this month, he had said that “Hungary will remain a member of the EU until [it] collapses”– predicting that this would happen within a generation, as Brussels is “on a trajectory that is economically, socially, spiritually and morally unsustainable”.

Kövér elaborated on this theme in his recent comments to Kossuth Rádió, telling the broadcaster that “after Nazis and Communists, a new totalitarian ambition is about to destroy Europe, sometimes called Liberalism, post-Humanism or whatever… green folly.”

Hungary, along with countries with similarly national conservative-minded governments in the EU, such as Poland, has clashed with the Brussels establishment over the migrant crisis and the EU’s attempts to enforce compulsory migrant redistribution in recent years, as well as Hungary’s efforts to make non-governmental organisations (NGOs) be more transparent about their sources of foreign funding, among other things.

Hostilities have been greatly stepped up in recent days by the Hungarian parliament’s passage of a package of anti-paedophile laws, which include restrictions on LGBT content in schools and media content aimed at children — with Prime Minister Viktor insisting that “education in schools must not be in conflict with the will of parents” and that “parents also rightly expect that on platforms used by our children, pornography, sexuality for its own sake, homosexuality and gender reassignment programs should not be available.”

This has led the Netherlands’ left-wing prime minister, Mark Rutte, to call on the EU to “force Hungary to its knees regarding this issue”, and to the European Parliament alleging that the legislation is a “threat to democracy and fundamental rights.”

Hungary has maintained a combative posture so far, with the government pointing out that a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) who has been leading the charge against them on the new laws has a conviction for distributing gay revenge porn.

Speaker Kövér, for his part, slammed “uppity [European] politicians rubbing in our faces that we would not be accepted into the EU today because of our so-called rule-of-law issues and values and views,” and that the “rage [the laws have] brought up in western European politicians is irrational”.

In October 2020, the FBI announced during a press conference that it thwarted a plot by a so-called “right-wing militia” to kidnap and kill Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and overthrow the state government.

The FBI became aware of the plot through discussions on social media in early 2020, however they decided to pull the trigger in October, right before the presidential election, and raid the homes of 6 men.

One of the men arrested in the plot was a Trump-hating anarchist and another was a Black Lives Matter activist, but then-candidate Joe Biden and the media still blamed Trump.

It was previously reported that the ring leader in the plot to kidnap Whitmer was an FBI informant.

He was planted into the group and was the one who pushed the entire plan.

Now it turns out that the FBI used at least 12 informants in this kidnapping case.

So basically the entire plot was cooked up and executed by FBI informants and a few unsuspecting patsies were dragged into the scheme.

New Texas Law 'Deputizes' Citizens to Sue Abortion Doctors, Clinics: 'Flood of Lawsuits' Coming

A Texas pro-life law set to take effect in September is receiving nationwide attention for its unique approach to stopping abortion: It allows citizens to sue abortion doctors and clinics.

The law, known as Senate Bill 8, was signed by Gov. Greg Abbott in May and prohibits abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected, which is around six weeks of pregnancy. Although other states have passed similar bills, the Texas law is unique in that it allows private citizens to enforce the law through civil lawsuits.

The New York Times spotlighted the law in a July 9 story and quoted a Planned Parenthood lawyer as saying there could be “a flood of suits across Texas’ 254 counties.”

“It’s completely inverting the legal system,” said Stephen Vladeck, a constitutional law professor at the University of Texas at Austin, told the New York Times. “It says the state is not going to be the one to enforce this law. Your neighbors are.”

The text of the law says “any person” other than “an officer or employee of a state or local governmental entity” may “bring a civil action against any person who … performs or induces an abortion in violation” of the law. The suit would involve lawsuits in state courts, not federal courts. Those who sue and win would be awarded at least $10,000 for each illegal abortion.

Abortion clinics “are stuck in state court in a defensive posture, and there’s a lot at stake,” Howard M. Wasserman, a law professor at Florida International University, told the newspaper. “If they lose, they are on the hook for significant sums of money.”

The law is difficult to challenge, The Times said, because it’s “hard to know whom to sue to block it.” The law “effectively deputizes ordinary citizens,” The Times said.

“If the barista at Starbucks overhears you talking about your abortion, and it was performed after six weeks, that barista is authorized to sue the clinic where you obtained the abortion and to sue any other person who helped you, like the Uber driver who took you there,” Melissa Murray, a law professor at New York University, told The Times.

Denny Burk, director of the Center for Gospel and Culture at Boyce College in Louisville, Ky., said pro-lifers nationwide “need to pay attention” to the new law’s impact.

“On this side of abolishing Roe,” Burk tweeted, “this may be the ‘legal hack’ that could put an end to almost all abortions.”
