Masked Arsonist Torches Catholic Church in Tampa, Florida

A masked man broke into the Incarnation Catholic Church northwest of Tampa, Florida, last weekend and set fire to the interior before fleeing, the Tampa Bay Times reported Tuesday.

Surveillance video shows a shirtless, masked man throwing projectiles to break a glass window on the church door to gain access to the building last Friday night around 10:30pm. Wearing long pants, white sneakers, and a surgical mask, the man entered the church carrying a large bottle in his hands.

The man proceeded to pour clear liquid on three wooden pews and then set fire to them before running away as the flames began to rise. In all, the man was in the church for no more than three minutes.

According to Hillsborough County sheriff Chad Chronister, although fire crews arrived swiftly to extinguish the fire, the church sanctuary suffered significant damage.

The church’s pastor, Father Michael Cormier, said last Sunday that he had considered closing the church for the weekend and cancelling Sunday Masses in order to have work done to the damaged pews.

“But we thought: if we did that, evil would win,” the priest said.

“We wouldn’t have Mass for one weekend, and evil would win,” he said. “We have been struck down by this, but not destroyed. In the end, evil never wins.”

Father Cormier also told the faithful that the proper Christian response to the incident was to pray for the arsonist.

“May this terrible act cause us to unify, to love one another more than ever, and to continue to make [our parish] the bedrock of faith and strength it has always been,” he prayed.

As Breitbart News has reported, over the past months vandals and arsonists have targeted Christian churches across the United States for acts of desecration.

In particular, Catholic churches were struck repeatedly during the week of July 10-16, which included the desecration of statues of Jesus and Mary — some of which were “beheaded or spray-painted” — along with graffiti on church buildings and several fires.

On July 10, a vandal sprayed a statue of the Virgin Mary that stands in front of Cathedral Preparatory School in Queens, New York, with the word “IDOL.” The rector of Cathedral Prep, Father James Kuroly, called the incident “an act of hatred.”

The following day, a 24-year-old man named Stephen Anthony Shields drove his minivan into the front of Queen of Peace church in Ocala, Florida. The man got out of the car and poured gasoline around the church lobby and lit it on fire, causing extensive damage. Police eventually arrested the suspect, and charged him with arson and resisting arrest, as well as attempted second-degree murder, since a number of parishioners were present in the church at the time of the attack.

Chen Qiushi: Chinese journalist missing since February 'under state supervision'

A Chinese citizen journalist who disappeared in February after reporting on the outbreak of the coronavirus has been found, a friend has said.

The whereabouts of Chen Qiushi have not been known since he was allegedly "quarantined by force".

A friend has now uploaded a video to YouTube saying he is in "good health" but is under government supervision.

There have been separate reports that he is staying with his parents in Qingdao.

Chinese authorities are known for clamping down on activists who speak out. At the time of Mr Chen's disappearance the government had been keen to show it was getting the coronavirus outbreak under control.

Why have two reporters in Wuhan disappeared?

Mr Chen went missing at about the same time as Wuhan businessman Fang Bin and citizen journalist Li Zehua, who had both also reported on the coronavirus outbreak.

Li Zehua reappeared in April while the whereabouts of Fang Bin are still unknown.

The arrest of another citizen journalist, Zhang Zhan, who also reported on the early days of the pandemic, was confirmed in June.

What's the latest on Chen Qiushi?

Xu Xiaodong, a mixed martial arts fighter and friend of Mr Chen, posted a video on YouTube saying he was in a "safe place".

"Qiushi is still under the supervision of a certain agency and hasn't come home yet," he said in the video.

A human rights lawyer, who requested anonymity, told the South China Morning Post that Mr Chen had been moved to Qingdao where his parents live and where he is registered.

"Qiushi, who is together with his parents, is under strict supervision by the authorities," the lawyer said.

"Since the authorities have decided not to prosecute him, it is actually not lawful to continue to keep him in close surveillance."

Following the Breonna Taylor decision Wednesday afternoon, a U-Haul truck began handing out supplies to Antifa and BLM protestors.

But, where did the U-Haul come from, and what was inside?

The answers may shock you.

The U-Haul filled with shields, riot gear, signs and weapons was rented by a George Soros-connected “bail disruptor” by the name of Holly Zoller.

According to The Right Scoop, a U-Haul employee leaked the logs that show she was the one who rented the truck. The log shows that Zoller picked up the truck on Tuesday morning and was supposed to return it Wednesday morning.

But, she never did.

At the time of the photo, the status of Zoller’s reservation is “Late Not Returned.”

That late fee is going to hurt.

Zoller works for the “Bail Project,” an organization “designed to combat mass incarceration by disrupting the money bail system – one person at a time.” According to her bio on the project’s website, she is also the founding organizer of Louisville Books to Prisoners.

Now, what connection does Zoller have to Soros?

While there has yet to be a direct confirmation that Soros is funding the group, it is all too coincidental. There is a good chance that the billionaire investor and philanthropist is either directly or indirectly involved, but we will have to wait until the full truth comes out.

In an interview which aired on Press TV on Saturday–one day before the AIPAC conference got under way in Washington–former Georgia Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney revealed what amounts to some pretty startling news regarding the extent of the Israeli lobby’s influence over Congress.

During her years in Congress, she stated, candidates for both the House and the Senate were requested to sign pledges of support for Israel, documents in which the candidate promised to vote to provide consistent levels of economic aid to the Zionist state. Refusal to sign the pledge meant no funding for the candidate’s campaign.

“You make a commitment that you will vote to support the military superiority of Israel—the economic assistance that Israel wants, that you would vote to provide that,” McKinney, who served in Congress from 1993-2003 and again 2005-2007, tells Press TV interviewer Marzieh Hashemi in the two-part video program below.

According to McKinney, the pledge also included a vow to support Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel.

For example, it was almost like water torture for me. My parents observed this. I would get a call and the person on the other end of the phone would say ‘I want to do a fundraiser for you.’ And then we would get into the planning. I would get really excited, because of course you have to have money in order to run a campaign. And then two weeks, three weeks into the planning, they would say, ‘Did you sign the pledge?’ And then I would say, ‘No, I didn’t sign the pledge.’ And then my fundraiser would go kaput.”

During her years in Congress,McKinney opposed U.S. involvement in foreign wars, questioned the official version of the events of 911, and introduced articles of impeachment against former President George W. Bush. Her final term in Congress came to an end after AIPAC, or the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, funneled money into the campaign of her opponent, Hank Johnson.

McKinney’s comments to Press TV came on the eve of the AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington, which was addressed Sunday by President Barack Obama. Last Thursday, Obama gave a “major speech” on the Middle East in which he suggested that a basis for peace in the region might be a withdrawal by Israel to its pre-1967 borders. However, in his speech Sunday, the president, quite predictably, backtracked on the proposal—and it may well have been Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who laid down the law to him.

“On Friday, I was joined at the White House by Prime Minister Netanyah, and we reaffirmed that fundamental truth that has guided our presidents and prime ministers for more than 60 years—that, even while we may at times disagree, as friends sometimes will, the bonds between the United States and Israel are unbreakable, and the commitment of the United States to the security of Israel is ironclad,” Obama told the conference.

He also clarified what he had meant by his reference to “1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps” made in his speech Thursday. “By definition, it means that the parties themselves—Israelis and Palestinians—will negotiate a border that is different than the one that existed on June 4, 1967,” he said.

Michelle Obama has urged voters to ignore Donald Trump's 'conspiracy theories' about voting fraud as the former first lady and her Hollywood friends try to rally Democratic turnout ahead of the November 3 election.

Speaking in an online event for her organization When We All Vote, Mrs Obama told actress Zendaya that 'voting is easy, it is something we can do'.

Mrs Obama is rallying support from her friends in showbiz including Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez and Conan O'Brien as she tries to reverse the stinging defeat her husband's party suffered at Trump's hands in 2016.

The Obamas are Hollywood giants in their own right after making a deal with Netflix in 2018 to produce a series of shows, including a documentary follow-up to Michelle's memoir Becoming.

The When We All Vote event where Mrs Obama spoke on Tuesday also featured basketball player Chris Paul and actress Ayesha Curry.

Paul is a co-chair of the organization along with other celebrities including singer Selena Gomez, actor Tom Hanks and soccer player Megan Rapinoe.

Emmy winner Zendaya has a link to Mrs Obama's organization on her Instagram profile and the pair have spoken warmly of each other since the Obamas were still in office.

The Obamas' production company, Higher Ground Productions, already has an Academy Award to its name and the Becoming documentary was released earlier this year.

The memoir has sold more than 11million copies since its 2018 release and the documentary depicts her subsequent 34-city book tour.

The promotional tour was managed by the concert promoter Live Nation and had the scale of a rock tour, with a string of dates at sold-out arenas.

Michelle's popularity has made her one of the Democrats' main weapons in the presidential campaign.

At least 10,000 people have unexpectedly died in their own home since mid-June, official statistics show.

Seven-hundred 'excess deaths' in private homes have been registered each week in England and Wales alone since the pandemic began to die down.

But only an average of 21 each week are down to the coronavirus, according to data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS). And rates have plummeted in recent weeks to as low as seven.

Data shows 30,000 people have died in their homes in the UK since the start of the pandemic in March, and the pattern does not appear to be slowing. For comparison, deaths in hospitals and care homes are currently lower than expected.

Experts say it could be that families are deciding not to admit their elderly relatives into care homes, which were ravaged by the coronavirus during the first wave of the disease in March and April.

It may also be that Britons are still avoiding getting help from the NHS for problems which need urgent care, or have had treatment delayed because of the lockdown, which may be leading to more deaths at home.

Figures have shown a significant drop in A&E admissions during the Covid-19 crisis. They have slowly started to get back to normal levels.
