Speculation On the Maricopa Audit
AZ Vice Chair Pam Kirby's tweet tonight (several posts prior ⬆️ ) is very telling. Kirby said the Maricopa Board of Supervisors should assume the auditors have what they need. Her comments suggest that the Senate's requests are merely an opportunity for the Board of Supervisors to get on the right side of this issue.
Somehow, they got the information they needed. Now, they're offering the Board of Supervisors one last chance. One last chance for what? To avoid criminal prosecution?
The Board of Supervisors doesn't want to disclose any more information. That's why they had sheriff Penzone write his letter about the routers. But if the Board doesn't provide the items mentioned in the subpoena, they face legal problems.
The auditors and the Senate are in the driver's seat. They don't need the passwords. They know why the county doesn't have them. The County admitted that Dominion serves as the admin for the equipment.
If, as Kirby's tweet impies, they have the information they were looking for, then they don't need the routers, either.
The requests for passwords and routers are for the sake of optics. They want the public to know the Board of Supervisors was given an opportunity to come clean. (Notice that the requests and replies are immediately made public.)
Continued attempts by the Board of Supervisors to hide election data, the media's attempts to discredit the audit, and the DOJ's threat to interfere in the audit all point to the Senate being in control of the process.
Judging by the tone and content of messaging by the Senate leadership, it seems they already have enough information to know the likely outcome of the audit.

Cyberattack Shuts Down Massive East Coast Gasoline Pipeline
The Colonial Pipeline, which carries almost half of the East Coast’s gasoline supply, shuttered its entire network overnight due to a cyberattack, the company said in a statement — the latest cyberattack to disrupt a U.S. company’s operations.
The cyberattack impacted Colonial Pipeline’s IT systems late Friday, and the company says it tried to minimize the damage by proactively shutting down its over 5,000 miles of pipelines, which carry gasoline, jet fuel and kerosene from Texas to the New York area. The company has called law enforcement, and it hired a private cybersecurity company to conduct its own investigation into the attack, it said.
Colonial Pipeline is still working to restore service (the Georgia-based company did not immediately respond when asked when it plans to resume operations).
100 million gallons. That’s how much refined fuel Colonial Pipeline says it moves per day, accounting for about 45% of fuel all used on the East Coast. A private company, Colonial Pipeline’s largest owner (at 28.1% as of last year) is Koch Capital Investments, which is controlled by the powerful Koch family.

Japan asking all prefectures to set up mass vaccination centers
The health ministry has asked all prefectures to actively consider setting up mass inoculation centers using U.S. drugmaker Moderna Inc.’s COVID-19 shot as the government looks to quickly ramp up the vaccine rollout amid signs of an explosive rise in new variant cases.
With the approval of a second and a third vaccine for emergency use expected in less than two weeks, the government is aiming to minimize the impact to municipal governments' existing vaccine networks. These networks have been using U.S. drugmaker Pfizer Inc.’s vaccines, but the new vaccines made by Moderna and British drugmaker AstraZeneca PLC would need to be handled and stored differently. The government is planning to allocate Moderna’s vaccines to planned state-run mass inoculation centers at government sites in Tokyo and Osaka on May 24. The mass vaccination sites nationwide would also use Moderna’s vaccines.
Taro Kono, the minister in charge of the rollout, said Friday that Gunma and Aichi prefectures would set up their own mass inoculation centers, adding that some other prefectural governors have also expressed interest in doing the same.
Japan has faced criticism over its rollout — the slowest among the developed countries — but Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga is hoping to rectify the situation. Suga said Friday that the government was aiming to finish giving a second round of shots to 36 million people age 65 and over by the end of July after ramping up the jabs to 1 million a day.
The key to that scenario will be the authorization of vaccines made by Moderna and British drugmaker AstraZeneca PLC for emergency use. The health ministry is set to deliberate on the matter on May 20, according to domestic media reports.

Reports surfaced yesterday [SEE HERE] that Liz Cheney worked behind the scenes to coordinate a stealth attack against Trump while he was still in office. We should not be surprised, but the insufferable arrogance of the DeceptiCon dirtbags is blood-boiling.

What CBDC [Central Bank Digital Currency] research and experimentation appears to be showing is that it will be nigh on impossible to issue such currencies outside of a comprehensive national digital ID management system. Meaning: CBDCs will likely be tied to personal accounts that include personal data, credit history and other forms of relevant information.
There are two very important implications here:
1. Central banks will have to kill off private sector cryptocurrencies.
There is just no way that CBs are going to allow private crypto that can provide an end-run around CBDC.
2. And this is not fully appreciated at all. Once a CBDC is established and becomes the method of general exchange, it will be very easy for governments to block any kinds of exchanges it desires to block. In other words, it provides the opportunity for cancel culture and authoritarianism at an entirely new level.
Bottom line: It is not clear why bitcoin was originally created or by whom but may lead to being one of the worst inventions ever created by man.

Facebook Is Doing Planned Parenthood’s Bidding In Banning Pro-Life Group LifeSiteNews

Facebook permanently banned LifeSiteNews — one of the largest pro-life websites — from the social media platform on Tuesday. The ban comes four months after YouTube did the same in February, and Twitter in January.
LifeSiteNews reported Facebook stripped its page after it published an op-ed in April raising concerns over potential side effects of the coronavirus vaccines administered to individuals previously infected with COVID-19.
“In a quick series of notices and emails to LifeSiteNews’ marketing department, Facebook delivered the shocking news, accusing LifeSite of publishing ‘false information about COVID-19 that could contribute to physical harm,'” the pro-life site explained to readers. “Facebook also said that they deplatform Facebook pages that publish ‘vaccine discouraging information on the platform.'”
LifeSiteNews’ pro-abortion rivals took a victory lap on Twitter, celebrating big tech’s role as the arbiters of truth with demands Silicon Valley be more aggressive to deplatform conservative rivals.

Virginia Military Institute To De-Person Stonewall Jackson, Re-Attribute Quotes in Soviet-Style Purge
Stonewall Jackson's name will be forgotten, and his quotes will be attributed to people who did not say them.
It is to be remembered that Soviet is cold war speak for communist
VMI, the famed Virginia Military Institute that employed Confederate General Stonewall Jackson and played an integral role in America’s Civil War, has moved to de-person the General in a Soviet-style purge of the school’s Confederate history, going as far as to rip Jackson’s name away from his own quotes which emblazon a portion of the school and re-attribute them to someone else.
Efforts to de-person Stonewall Jackson and erase the school’s rich Confederate history have been in the works for quite some time, as the publicly funded military school has long been a target of the radical left. Though they had previously been met with resistance, in 2020, as the radical left waged a Soviet-style purge on America’s history – particularly in the south – with the help of a new far-left state government installed in Richmond, efforts to snuff out the Confederate history of VMI – and Virginia as a whole – went into overdrive.
Under a vote passed by the school’s Board of Visitors, General Stonewall Jackson’s name will be removed from VMI’s Memorial Hall while a mural depicting the sacrifice of teenage VMI cadets who took heavy casualties in a famed charge on Union forces at the nearby Battle of New Market will be “contextualized.”
Taking things a step further, the school also voted to de-person Stonewall Jackson in a fashion reminiscent of the darkest days of the Soviet Union, erasing his name from beneath his own words of “You may be whatever you resolve to be,” from an Old Barracks inscription and a re-attributing it to someone else. According to local media reports, the quote will be re-attributed either to 19th-century educator William Alcott, Rev. Joel Hawes, or both – neither of whom appear to have had any link to the school in their lifetimes.
The latest attacks on General Jackson come as the school faces heavy political pressure from Democrat Governor Ralph Northam, a 1981 VMI graduate who went by the name of “Coon Man” during his time at the school. Last year, Northam ordered an investigation into VMI after the school was targetted with allegations of racism and sexism amidst the massive left-wing cultural push of 2020. In December of that year, a century-old statue of General Jackson was removed from the school’s grounds.
Coincidentally, shortly thereafter, the school chose its first black Superintendent, Major General Cedric Wins, and during the 2021-2022 academic year, the school’s Corps of Cadets will be led by a female for the first time.

A month ago we warned that The Fed's incessant intervention had put distressed investors out of business as the remarkable rally in even the lowest quality junk debt ('CCC or triple hooks') had created party time for zombie companies everywhere as "high yield" is now officially "low yield."
And, while the party can and will go on as long as there are greater fools, one look at the fundamentals...... confirms that the party will only last as long as central banks keep injecting hundreds of billions into the market each and every month.
"People aren’t investing, they’re just chasing."
That is the ominous, ponzi-like warning from Adam Cohen, Caspian Capital’s managing partner as the distressed debt investor has chosen to return some money to investors because the rewards don't justify the high risks anymore.
He's right. Despite soaring debt levels and forward economic uncertainty, US HY debt risk spreads are 100bps tighter than pre-COVID levels...And all that has sparked a resurgence in hedge funds betting against this farce continuing.
In fact, as Bloomberg reports, global high-yield bonds worth as much as $55 billion are on loan to traders seeking to profit if prices drop, according to data from IHS Markit.
That is the largest balance since the fall of 2008, and compares with about $35 billion at the start of the year. “I would expect that to get bigger as spreads tighten and/or people get worried about rates rising,” said Tim Winstone, a portfolio manager at Janus Henderson, which oversees 294 billion pounds ($409 billion). “At these levels of valuations, I’m not surprised more people, such as hedge funds, are setting shorts.”
And we are starting to see the impact of this drop in bullish/momo-chasing malarkey in the performance of deals in the secondary market. Almost one out of four high-yield bonds sold this year is indicated below the price it was issued at, based on data compiled by Bloomberg.
With The ECB already hinting at scaling back its asset-purchases, and BoE having already done so, The Fed continues to ignore talk of its own tapering, but between HY shorts, and deleveraging, investors are starting to signal the build-up of defenses against a potential scaling back of central-bank support.
