Lauren Boebert, the Colorado Republican who leaked a photo of Hillary Clinton in a closed-door House deposition Thursday, says the image shows the former secretary of State before the proceedings began.

The House Oversight Committee member tells “CUOMO” she was granted permission by panel staff to release a picture during a break in the hearing but conceded, “We missed that break by just a few minutes, so, it was a few minutes before our break.”

Boebert said panel members later concurred that no pictures would be disseminated moving forward. The congresswoman shared her picture of Clinton with conservative influencer Benny Johnson, who posted it online and caused a temporary pause in the hearing.

The picture of Clinton shows the former Democratic senator and secretary of state “before the hearing began,” Boebert noted.

Rep. James Comer, the Kentucky Republican who chairs the Oversight Committee, said Boebert violated the rules by leaking the picture but added that she apologized. He faulted Democrats for sharing information with the media during the proceedings.

“The Democrats were breaking the rules, too. I’ve said no more of that on either side, and hopefully that doesn’t happen again,” Comer told “Katie Pavlich Tonight.”

Clinton met with the Oversight Committee for what she described as a “very long, repetitive deposition” about any potential contact she may have had with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

She said she had none, though her husband, former President Bill Clinton, was acquainted with Epstein before the investor and philanthropist was arrested for sex crimes in Florida in the early 2000s. Bill Clinton is scheduled to be deposed Friday.

Questions on UFOs, ‘Pizzagate’ appropriate, Boebert says

Hillary Clinton said the proceedings took an “unusual” turn for her when members began asking her off-topic questions about UFOs and the conspiracy theory known as “Pizzagate.”

“There are things within the Epstein files that leads to these questions,” Boebert said, referring to the millions of documents that have been released by the Justice Department under orders from Congress.

“I think everybody wants to know about UFOs,” she added. “There are 3 million files there; you can go a lot of different ways with the information that’s in there.” Comer, the panel chairman, said Boebert asked the question about Pizzagate.

“We asked really good questions. There two questions that were outside the scope,” he said. “The video will hopefully be released by tomorrow afternoon. You will be able to see every question that was asked over the four-hour period.”

Paramount’s apparent victory over Netflix in securing Warner Bros. Discovery has led to concerns within the CNN newsroom.

Once again, CNN is facing an uncertain fate.

Netflix’s stunning surrender on Thursday in its effort to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery all but assures that the 24-hour news channel will soon be controlled by David Ellison, the chairman of Paramount Skydance and the technology heir best known in the journalism world for his recent revamp of CBS News.

Mr. Ellison’s intentions for the channel remain unclear. But the development has caused some shudders within the CNN newsroom, where the chief executive, Mark Thompson, felt compelled to issue a memo shortly after Netflix’s announcement.

“Despite all the speculation you’ve read during this process, I’d suggest that you don’t jump to conclusions about the future until we know more,” Mr. Thompson wrote. In an email with the subject line “Corporate Update,” he urged his journalists to focus on the “newsy year at home and abroad,” including the upcoming midterm elections “and who knows what else.”

Within CNN, though, reporters and producers have expressed concern that their newsroom’s independence, a point of pride, could be compromised in the event that Paramount absorbs the company.

Mr. Ellison has a friendly relationship with President Trump, who regularly assails CNN as biased. When Mr. Ellison acquired Paramount last year, the Trump administration approved the sale after Paramount paid $16 million to settle a lawsuit brought by Mr. Trump against “60 Minutes.” On Tuesday, Mr. Ellison attended Mr. Trump’s State of the Union speech as a guest of Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican.

Upon taking over CBS News, Mr. Ellison appointed Kenneth R. Weinstein, a conservative policy veteran with no experience overseeing news coverage, to serve as the news division’s ombudsman. And he selected Bari Weiss as editor in chief, elevating an opinion journalist with a long history of criticizing old-line media institutions.

Ms. Weiss has asked veteran CBS correspondents why the country thinks they have a liberal bias and drew accusations of political interference when she abruptly postponed a “60 Minutes” segment critical of the Trump administration. She has said that she acts independently, and some conservatives have applauded the changes.

How Mr. Trump might respond to an Ellison-owned CNN is not guaranteed. The president can be a fickle viewer; in October, he pronounced Larry and David Ellison as “friends of mine” who will “do the right thing” at CBS. But weeks later, he condemned “60 Minutes” for treating him “far worse since the so-called ‘takeover,’ than they have ever treated me before.”

In December, when Netflix was poised to win Warner Bros., there was a sigh of relief at CNN. Netflix had chosen to exclude CNN from the Warner assets that it was seeking to purchase, meaning the channel would be unlikely to factor in any efforts to secure the blessings of the Trump administration.

In that situation, Mr. Thompson would continue to oversee the network, and Gunnar Wiedenfels, the Warner Bros. chief financial officer, would run a new spinoff company that included CNN.

But Mr. Ellison has long signaled that he wants CNN to be part of any acquisition.

Anderson Cooper, who had spent nearly 20 years as a “60 Minutes” correspondent while holding down his nightly CNN anchoring gig, surprised Paramount when he announced last week that he would not renew his deal with the CBS Sunday show. It is possible that Mr. Cooper may soon be reporting to Paramount again.

On Thursday evening, Ms. Weiss was attending an event sponsored by The Free Press, the independent site that she co-founded and sold to Mr. Ellison last year. On X, she posted a photograph from the event and added a caption.

The former US President did not address the press following his testimony before the House Oversight Committee

Former US President Bill Clinton allegedly told congressional investigators that he did not have sex with a woman photographed with him in a jacuzzi, and does not even know her name, according to CNN and NBC sources familiar with the testimony about his links to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Clinton’s closed-door deposition before the House Oversight Committee on Friday lasted roughly six hours and concluded without the former president or his legal team addressing the press. The former president chose to manage the public response through social media, asserting inhis opening statement that he “saw nothing”and “did nothing wrong.”(Captain Shultz)

Several members of the committee told reporters outside the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center that the session was “productive” andsaid Clinton at times spoke more candidly than his attorneys preferred.

“He did attempt to respond to every single question asked, even when his attorney told him to shut up,” House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer said. Rep. Nancy Mace thanked the former president for cooperating.

Lawmakers questioned Clinton extensively about his appearances in newly released Epstein files, including photographs showing him alongside Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a prison sentence for sex trafficking offenses.

At one point, Clinton was asked about photographs released by the Justice Department showing him in a hot tub with a woman whose face was redacted, according to CNN.

Clinton allegedly said he did not know the woman and denied having any sexual relationship with her.He also repeatedly told investigators that he never visited Epstein’s private island.

The inquiry also examined Clinton’s presence in Epstein flight logs and White House visitor records from the 1990s. Clinton has previouslyacknowledged traveling on Epstein’s private jet but has described their relationship as brief and said he was unaware of Epstein’s criminal conduct.

Clinton was represented during questioning by longtime attorney David Kendall, while spokesperson Angel Urena issued a written statement criticizing the Justice Department’s handling of Epstein-related evidence files. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who unlike her husband briefly spoke to reporters following her own testimony a day earlier, described the inquiry as “political theater.”

Video recordings and transcripts of both Clintons’ depositions are expected to be released in the coming days, pending legal review. The testimonies form part of a wider congressional effort to examine individuals connected to Epstein’s network. Comer said additional subpoenas are expected but declined to identify future witnesses.

“The world is in peril,” the head of Anthropic’s Safeguards Research Team wrote in his resignation letter

A top artificial intelligence safety researcher has resigned from Anthropic with an enigmatic warning about “interconnected crises,” announcing his plans to become “invisible for a period of time.”

MrinankSharma, an Oxford graduate who led the Claude chatbot maker’s SafeguardsResearch Team, posted his resignation letter on X Monday, describing a growing personal reckoning with “our situation.”

“The world is in peril. And not just from AI, or bioweapons, but from a whole series of interconnected crises unfolding in this very moment,” Sharma wrote to colleagues.

The departure comes amid mounting tensions surrounding the San Francisco-based AI lab, which issimultaneously racing to developever more powerful systemswhile its own executives warn that those same technologies could harm humanity.

It also follows reports of a widening rift between Anthropic and the Pentagon over the military’s desire to deploy AI for autonomous weapons targeting without the safeguards the company has sought to impose.

Sharma’s resignation, which lands days after Anthropic released Opus 4.6 – a more powerful iteration of its flagship Claude tool – hinted at internal friction over safety priorities.

“Throughout my time here, I’ve repeatedly seen how hard it is to truly let our values govern our actions,” he wrote. “I’ve seen this within myself, within the organization, where we constantly face pressures to set aside what matters most, and throughout broader society too.”

The researcher’s team was established just over a year ago with a mandate to tackle AI security threats including “model misuse and misalignment,” bioterrorism prevention, and “catastrophe prevention.”

Sharma noted with pride his work developing defenses against AI-assisted bioweapons and his “final project on understanding how AI assistants could make us less human or distort our humanity.” Now he intends to move back to the UK to “explore a poetry degree” and “become invisible for a period of time.”

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has repeatedly warned of the dangers posed by the very technology his company is commercializing. In a near-20,000-word essay last month,he cautioned that AI systems of “almost unimaginable power”are “imminent” and will “test who we are as a species.”

Amodeiwarned of “autonomy risks” where AI could “go rogue and overpower humanity,” and suggested the technology could enable “a global totalitarian dictatorship” through AI-powered surveillance and autonomous weapons.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has accused Kiev of cutting off Russian deliveries via the Druzhba pipeline

Kiev has no interest in resuming the flow of Russian crude through the Druzhba (Friendship) oil pipeline, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has concluded after a phone call with Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky.

The Soviet-era pipeline, part of which passes through Ukraine, stopped delivering oil last month. Kiev has attributed this to damage from Russian strikes, which Moscow has denied.Hungary and Slovakia, which are both heavily dependent on the fuel deliveries, have accused Ukraine of deliberately cutting off them off for political reasons.

In a statement on X on Friday, Fico saidhe spoke with Zelensky and told him that his “decision to stop the transit of oil is causing [Slovakia] logistical difficulties and economic damage.”

Slovak intelligence “confirms that the pipeline is not damaged and nothing prevents the transit of oil,” yet theUkrainian leader “insisted that repairing the pipeline requires a long time,” he said.

From the conversation… I gained a clear impression that the Ukrainian side has no interest in resuming the transit of oil.

The prime minister also said he informed Zelensky that Bratislava and Budapest will push foran “inspection group composed of experts nominated by the European Commission and EU Member States”to check the allegedly damaged areas of the pipeline.

The Druzhba oil pipeline

Kiev has so far blocked the Slovak ambassador in Ukraine from carrying out such an inspection, Fico said.

Hungarian Prime MinisterViktor Orban has also argued that Kiev simply shut off the pipeline.

“Let me be clear… Zelensky is lying,” he wrote on X just hours prior. “We know that there is no technical reason oil cannot flow to Hungary through the Friendship pipeline. They refuse inspections and hide the truth.”

Last week, in response to what he called Ukraine’s “political blackmail,” Orban vetoed Brussels’ planned €90 billion ($106 billion) emergency loan for Kiev, as well as the EU’s 20th package of sanctions on Russia.

Earlier this week, he ordered additional Hungarian military and police to patrol energy infrastructure at the border with Ukraine, citing intelligence from Budapest’s security services about potential attacks.

The United States has never deployed F-22 Raptors to Israel. Not during the Gulf Wars. Not during the 2024 strikes that destroyed every Iranian S-300 battery in a single night. Not during the June 2025 twelve-day war that hit three nuclear facilities with fourteen bunker busters.

Until this week.

Eleven F-22s are now sitting at Ovda Air Base in the Negev. Confirmed by satellite imagery. The first deployment of America’s premier air superiority fighter to Israeli soil in the history of both nations.

You need to understand what the F-22 does that no other aircraft can do. It does not bomb targets. It kills the things that protect targets. Its radar cross section is smaller than a marble. It enters defended airspace invisible, maps every radar emission, and either destroys the air defense network or feeds its coordinates to the strike package following behind. In Venezuela, F-22s suppressed Russia’s S-300VM batteries so completely that not a single interceptor missile was launched. The entire Russian-built air defense network went dark without firing a shot.

Iran rebuilt portions of its air defense with Russian assistance after the October 2024 strikes. The F-22 deployment to Israel is the answer to whatever Iran rebuilt.

Now layer the logistics. 270 plus C-17 and C-5 transport flights to the Middle East since January. Four C-17 Globemasters landed at Nevatim Air Base on Thursday alone. Nevatim is where Israel’s F-35I Adir stealth fleet operates. Fourteen refueling tankers at Ben Gurion. 300 plus US military aircraft now in the CENTCOM theater. This is not a deterrence posture. Deterrence is a carrier offshore and a press statement. 270 transport flights is the logistics tail for sustained high-intensity operations. You build that supply chain when you expect to use it.

The pattern is identical to June 2025 but at triple the scale. Then: B-2s from Diego Garcia, B-52s as cruise missile trucks, F-15Es for escort. Now: all of that plus F-22s in Israel for the first time, plus a second carrier, plus forward-deployed F-35s in Jordan, plus tanker fleets staged across three countries.

Whatever is being planned is larger than what happened in June.

Geneva collapsed Thursday. Iran rejected every demand. Rubio flies to Jerusalem Monday. Ambassador Huckabee told staff to leave today. Beijing told its citizens to evacuate Iran today.

And eleven aircraft that exist solely to make air defenses disappear are parked in the desert 200 kilometers from the Iranian border, doing something they have never done in the 21-year operational history of the platform.

You do not stage the first-ever F-22 deployment to Israel for deterrence. You stage it for what deterrence failed to prevent.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Iran unveils 2,000 km ballistic missile

DUBAI, February 26 - Iran holds a new round of nuclear talks with the United States on Thursday in Geneva. Its arsenal of missiles has been a sticking point in negotiations.

Here are some details about Iran's missiles:

WHAT ARE BALLISTIC MISSILES?

A ballistic missile is a rocket-propelled weapon that is guided during its ascent but follows a free-fall trajectory for most of its flight. It delivers warheads - containing either conventional explosives or potentially biological, chemical or nuclear munitions - over varying distances.

Western powers regard Iran's ballistic missile arsenal both as a conventional military threat to Middle East stability and a possible delivery mechanism for nuclear weapons, should Tehran develop them. Iran denies any intent to build atomic bombs.

IRANIAN MISSILE TYPES AND RANGES

Iran has the largest stockpile of ballistic missiles in the Middle East, according to the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence. They have a self-imposed range of 2,000 km (1,240 miles), which Iranian officials have said was enough to protect the country as they can reach Israel.

Many of Iran's missile sites are in and around Tehran. There are at least five known underground "missile cities" in various provinces, including Kermanshah and Semnan, as well as near the Gulf region.

The arsenal encompasses multiple long-range missiles that can reach Israel, according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies. It says these include the Sejil, with a 2,000-km range; Emad, 1,700 km; Ghadr, 2,000 km; Shahab-3, 1,300 km; Khorramshahr, 2,000 km; and Hoveyzeh 1,350 km.

The semi-official Iranian news outlet ISNA published a graphic in April 2025 showing nine Iranian missiles it said could reach Israel, including the Sejil, which ISNA said was capable of flying at more than 17,000 km (10,500 miles) per hour and had a range of 2,500 km; the Kheibar, with a range of 2,000 km; and the Haj Qasem, 1,400 km.

Washington-based think tank, the Arms Control Association says Iran's ballistic arsenal included the Shahab-1, with an estimated range of 300 km; the Zolfaghar, 700 km; Shahab-3, 800-1,000 km; Emad-1, under development, 2,000 km; and a Sejil model under development, 1,500-2,500 km.

WHEN DID IRAN LAST USE ITS MISSILES?

During the 12-day war with Israel in June 2025, Tehran fired ballistic missiles into Israel, killing dozens of people and destroying buildings.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) and AEI Critical Threats Project said Israel "likely destroyed around a third of the Iranian missile launchers" during the conflict. Iranian officials have said Tehran has recovered from the damage incurred during the war.

Iran also responded to U.S. participation in Israel's air war by firing missiles at the U.S. Al Udeid air base in Qatar. Tehran gave advance warning and no one was hurt. Washington announced a ceasefire hours later.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards used missiles in January 2024 when they said they had attacked Israel's spy headquarters in Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan region, and that they had also fired at Islamic State militants in Syria.

Tehran also announced missile strikes targeting two bases of a Baloch militant group in Pakistan.

Saudi Arabia and the United States have said they believe Iran was behind a drone and missile attack on Saudi Arabia's oil facilities in 2019. Tehran denied this.

In 2020, Iran launched missiles at U.S.-led forces in Iraq in retaliation for a U.S. drone strike that killed Major General Qassem Soleimani of the Revolutionary Guards.

MISSILE STRATEGY AND DEVELOPMENT

Iran says its ballistic missiles provide a deterrent and retaliatory force against the United States, Israel and other potential regional targets.

According to a 2023 report by Behnam Ben Taleblu, a senior fellow at the U.S.-based Foundation for Defense of Democracies, Iran continues to develop underground missile depots complete with transport and firing systems, as well as production and storage centres. In 2020, Iran fired a ballistic missile from underground for the first time, it said.
