President Donald Trump announced that the National Guard would be heading to Memphis to deal with crime.

The president made his comments on Sept. 12 during an interview with Fox News, saying that the administration would take on crime in the Tennessee city, and possibly others, such as New Orleans.

During his comments, Trump said that Memphis is “deeply troubled,” and added that the national guard presence would fix the problem, “just like we did in Washington.”

The president also said he sees New Orleans as a city in “really bad shape,” and that Gov. Jeff Landry wants him to act.

“The governor wants us to go in. We'll do that too,” Trump said.

The announcement comes just over a month after the Aug. 11 federalization of the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington.

As of Sept. 10, more than 2,300 arrests have been made by federal and local partners in Washington, and more than 220 illegal firearms have been seized, according to Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Trump previously said Chicago could be the next major city to face a federal crime crackdown.

He said the National Guard could “solve Chicago within one week.”

“After we do this, we’ll go to another location, and we’ll make it safe also,” Trump told reporters at the time inside the Oval Office, referring to his efforts in Washington to crack down on crime.

“Chicago’s a mess. We’ll straighten that one out probably next. That will be our next one after this. And it won’t even be tough.”

BREAKING: Two men arrested for placing a bomb on a FOX 13 media vehicle in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Ahmed Nasir, 31 have reportedly been arrested.

The Salt Lake City Police Department Bomb Squad and the Unified Fire Authority Arson/Bomb Squad say a real explosive device was found under the vehicle.

“Police say they found the device placed under a news media vehicle parked next to an occupied building and determined it to be a real explosive device. It "had been lit but failed to function as designed," according to the affidavit,” KSL reported.

The men are facing charges including Threat of Terrorism, Possessing Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Possessing Explosive Devices.

A Long Island newspaper was forced to apologize Sunday for a political cartoon on the assassination of Charlie Kirk after it ignited a firestorm for the “vile” and “insensitive” piece.

Newsday admitted it should have never printed the cartoon, which appeared in its Saturday paper and depicted an empty chair with a blood stain sitting at a tent labeled “Charlie Kirk” and “Prove me Wrong.”

An arrow points to the seat with the text “Turning Point USA,” which is the name of the conservative nonprofit co-founded by Kirk.

The controversial drawing, penned by Pulitzer finalist illustrator Chip Bok, quickly ignited outrage on the island.

“Newsday—the only daily paper for Long Island—has crossed a line. By publishing a vile cartoon about the political assassination of Charlie Kirk, the paper has mocked tragedy, stoked division, and poured gasoline on the flames of political violence,” Suffolk County Republican Party Chairman Jesse Garcia said in a statement.

“This isn’t journalism. It’s a reckless, partisan attack that blames the victim, silences free speech, and shames everything this country should stand for,” Garcia said.

The chairman immediately called for the paper to remove the cartoon from all its platforms, terminate Bok’s contract, and apologize to Kirk’s family and Newsday’s readership.

Bok — who has penned cartoons for the Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Time, and Newsweek — is not employed by Newsday, the outlet told The Post.

The cartoon that was published was “syndicated,” meaning it was sold to the outlet or borrowed from the artist for publishing.

The far-left New Republic, in the immediate aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, declared that Democrats’ responses condemning the killing were “too tasteful for the moment,” warned that “empathy helps prop up Republicans and Trumpists as legitimate and normal political actors,” and urged Democrats to adopt a “callous, perhaps, but short of cruel” tone — even suggesting they say, “I’m sorry his family is suffering. I wish his message would die with him.”

In an article titled “Charlie Kirk and the Empathy Trap” — with the subhead, “Democrats will never be as cruel as Republicans after a political assassination. That’s to their credit. But it may not be to their advantage” — the magazine derided conservative outrage and mocked reports of leftists celebrating Kirk’s murder, declaring: “You can go online and nut-pick the odd leftist making light of Charlie Kirk’s death.”

It then dismissed Democratic leaders’ official statements — Kamala Harris saying, “Political violence has no place in America,” Hakeem Jeffries declaring it is “completely incompatible with American values,” and Gabby Giffords, herself a survivor of gun violence, warning that “We must never allow America to become a country that confronts those disagreements with violence.”

The author argued that such remarks only showed weakness, declaring that “these denunciations of political violence are too tasteful for the moment,” and adding, “piously expressing respect for Kirk’s work and incanting the importance of ‘debate’ are capitulations to Republicans’ invoking standards to which the right no longer pretends to adhere.”

The piece went further: “Actually, it’s worse: There are no Republicans asking or demanding that their Democratic counterparts play the part of sympathetic colleague.” Democrats, it claimed, “reflexively” react that way, and “it still surprises them when the notoriously remorseless refuse to reciprocate.”

The New Republic pressed its case by praising Republican “shamelessness,” seizing on an isolated episode from three months ago when Utah Sen. Mike Lee posted mocking memes on X about the assassination of Minnesota Speaker Melissa Hortman — posts he later removed. From that, the author insisted, “using the awesome power of U.S. government to compound people’s grief is exactly how Republicans measure success.”

Army Colonel Scott Stephens was suspended after he publicly mocked the assassination of conservative activist and TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk.

TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk was brutally murdered at an event at Utah Valley University. Graphic video of Kirk getting shot in the neck with blood pouring out of his carotid artery was posted to social media – and Colonel Stephens said Kirk deserved this.

“The death of Charlie Kirk in Utah was tragic.However, we can take comfort in the fact that Charlie was doing what he loved best – spreading messages of hate, racism, homophobia, misogyny and transphobia on college campuses. It also allows us to see who in our lives support those views. I would offer empathy, but Charlie hated empathy. As we have been told in the wake of so many other tragedies, we have to move on. We can’t make this political,” Stephens said in a social media post.

A Facebook user pushed back on Stephens and replied,“He did not deserve to be assassinated. What happened to freedom of speech? It isn’t political. It’s evil.”

Stephens replied, “[Charlie] spent years inciting political violence to die the victim of it. Tragic, for sure. Certainly aren’t going to argue that. But everyone shouldn’t be shocked when the leopards actually eat your face.”

Colonel Stephens believes Charlie Kirk’s beautiful Christian wife, Erika, deserves to be a widow. Stephens believes Kirk’s two young babies deserve to be fatherless.

Department of War Secretary Pete Hegseth last week said his agency is tracking military personnel and DOW civilians who mock or celebrate the assassination of a fellow American.

“The Department of War has zero tolerance for it,” spokesman Sean Parnell said.

Stephens was suspended after his social media post was brought to the Department of War’s attention.

Far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar has insisted that her home country of Somalia were not as bad America is under President Trump.

The Minnesota Congresswoman made the commentsduring an appearance this weekend on the YouTube channel Democracy Now!,where she complained about the Trump administration’s policy of mass deportations and restoring law and order to cities like Washington D.C. and Chicago.

She explained:

Armed men who are in plainclothes that are snatching people off the streets, unwilling to identify themselves. You have the military being deployed in our streets. My God, this is America. You have states’ rights being disregarded. You know, the constitutional crisis that’s being created in front of our eyes.

And the same week where we have a president who has deployed the military, who are trained to kill our enemies, not Americans, but our enemies, are in our streets. It’s the same week that we are going to have a military parade. Can you imagine that image that is going to be coming out of our country?

I mean, I grew up in a dictatorship. And I don’t even remember ever witnessing anything like that. To have a democracy, a beacon of hope for the world, to now be turned into one of the worst countries where the military are in our streets without any regard for people’s constitutional rights.

While our president is spending millions of dollars prompting himself up like a failed dictator with a military parade. It is really shocking and it should be a wake-up call for all Americans to say this is not the country we were born in, this is not the country we believe in, this is not the country our founding fathers imagined, and this is not the country that is supported by our constitution, our ideals, our values.

We should all collectively be out in the streets rejecting what is taking place this week.

Danny Kruger is a Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) for East Wiltshire, having been first elected in 2019.

He is the son of Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith and has been a vocal opponent of assisted dying legislation.

Kruger has been involved in various political activities, including serving as co-chairman of the New Conservatives, a right-wing faction within the Conservative Party, and previously working as David Cameron’s chief speechwriter.

He has also been a political secretary to Boris Johnson.

Kruger is currently under investigation by the parliamentary standards watchdog for potential breaches related to the funding of the all-party parliamentary group (APPG) on dying well, which he chaired from 2021 until early 2025.

The investigation concerns alleged failures to promptly register donations totaling £55,801 from three Christian pressure groups linked to the evangelical right, including Care Not Killing, which provided £22,500 that was not registered until January 2024, a delay of 564 days.

The watchdog's inquiry focuses on the registration of interests and the publication of income and expenditure statements by the APPG.

Kruger, who is no longer the chair, has not commented publicly on the allegations, as is standard for MPs under investigation.

In the House of Commons, Kruger has consistently voted against the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, which aims to legalise assisted dying for terminally ill adults in England and Wales who have mental capacity and are expected to die within six months.

On 26 February 2025, he voted in favour of the bill during its fifteenth sitting, making him one of only two Conservative MPs to do so against the party majority.

However, on 12 March 2025, he voted against the bill during its twenty-third sitting, aligning with the majority of his party.

Kruger has expressed concern about the rising popularity of Reform UK, a right-wing party, which he believes is eroding Conservative support, particularly among male voters.

He has acknowledged that Reform UK’s criticisms of the Conservative Party are "mostly valid" but rejected the idea of cooperation, calling Reform a "destructive force" that seeks to replace the Conservatives.

In the 2024 general election, Kruger won with 35.7% of the vote, a decrease of 30.2 percentage points from his previous result, while Labour’s Rob Newman came second with 25.7%.

Finnish PM admits Russia sanctions hurting economy

Trade has been largely scrapped and billions in investments lost, Petteri Orpo has said

Finland’s economic growth has suffered due to sanctions on Russia linked to the Ukraine conflict, Prime Minister Petteri Orpo has admitted.He noted that Finland has lost nearly all trade with Russia and billions in investments since it closed the border with its neighbor.

Finland, which shares a 1,300km (800-mile) border with Russia, has imposed several rounds of sanctions on Moscow in line with EU policy since 2022. It has also tightened entry rules for Russian citizens and shut all but one border checkpoint with its neighbor. The moves saw trade between the two countries drop to $1.5 billion in 2024, compared with $11 billion in pre-conflict 2021.

In an interview with Yle Areena on Saturday, Orpo acknowledged that sanctions have hit Finland harder than most EU members due to its traditionally close trade ties with Russia.

“The fact that the border is closed means, for example, 10 million cubic meters of Russian timber for our industry is not coming in. Finnish companies have lost billions in investments in Russia. Nearly all border traffic and trade have stopped,” Orpo said. “That brings uncertainty. All this has led to the fact that the growth of the Finnish economy has not been as desired.”

Despite this, Orpo echoed other NATO members in claiming Russia remains a “permanent threat”to Finland and the EU, vowing to increase defense spending and militarization to counter it. Finland joined NATO in 2023, a step Moscow – which views the bloc’s expansion as a trigger of the Ukraine conflict – called a “historic mistake.”

Russia has repeatedly rejected claims it poses a threat, accusing the West of fueling Russophobia to justify military buildups and divert attention from domestic problems. It has condemned Western sanctions as illegal and warned they would backfire.

The Finnish economy slipped into recession in both 2023 and 2024. According to Eurostat, its growth projections for 2025 are the lowest in the EU.

Polish PM reports wave of ‘antipathy’ towards Ukraine

Donald Tusk believes “it is the role of politicians is to stem this tide”

The Polish population is starting to develop antipathy toward Ukraine,but the government should make efforts to curb this shift in sentiment, Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said. His comments come after several drones recently fell on Polish territory, which Warsaw blamed on Russia. Moscow has dismissed the allegation as baseless.

In a post on X on Sunday,Tusk stated that “there is a growing wave of pro-Russian sentiment and antipathy towards a struggling Ukraine,” claiming it is being fueled by the Kremlin and “genuine fears and emotions” alike, without elaborating.

He added that “the role of politicians is to stem this tide,” not to take advantage of it. “This is a test of the patriotism and maturity of the entire Polish political class,” Tusk said.

His warning followed an incident last week when officials reported at least 19 violations of Polish airspace by drones, adding that up to four UAVs were downed, and that there had been damage on the ground but no casualties. Warsaw subsequently accused Russia of staging an “act of aggression.”

The Russian Defense Ministry dismissed the allegation,stating that none of its drone operations are aimed at Poland and that they only target Ukrainian military-linked facilities. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that “the leadership of the EU and NATO accuse Russia of provocations on a daily basis, most often declining to offer any arguments.”

Poland’s Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski acknowledged that many of the drones entered from Ukrainian territory, adding they were capable of carrying munitions but had not been loaded with explosives.

He also dismissed suggestions that Poland’s air defenses were unprepared for a drone incursion, despite reports that several UAVs had travelled hundreds of miles into Polish airspace. His remarks came after several Western media outlets, including Politico and Austria’s Kurier, noted that the episodehighlighted the vulnerability of NATO members to large-scale drone attacks.

The NFL has to get rid of that ridiculous looking new Kickoff Rule. How can they make such a big and sweeping change so easily and quickly. It’s at least as dangerous as the “normal” kickoff, and looks like he’ll. The ball is moving, and the players are not, the exact opposite of what football is all about. “Sissy” football is bad for America, and bad for the NFL! Who comes up with these ridiculous ideas? It’s like wanting to “roll back” the golf ball so it doesn’t go (nearly!) as far. Fortunately, college football will remain the same, hopefully forever!!

Poland pours cold water on ‘security guarantees’ for Ukraine

There are “no volunteers” to fight Russia if the conflict reignites after a settlement, Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has said

Western ‘security guarantees’ for Ukraine could end up being hollow, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has warned, arguing that Kiev’s backers have so far shown no willingness to go to war with Russia if the conflict flares up again after a potential ceasefire.

Western capitals have for months debated over the commitments that could accompany a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. According to media reports,leaders in France and the UK have floated proposals for a ‘reassurance force’ on the groundfar from the front line, as well as aerial assets to help monitor the ceasefire.

A number of other EU states have pushed back against sending troops to Ukraine, proposing instead to focus on other types of support. US President Donald Trump has also ruled out sending ground troops to Ukraine, but said America could contribute in other ways.

Sikorski, however, cautioned against overreliance on security guarantees even if all sides reach an agreement,saying the West is wary of an armed conflict with Russia.

“Security guarantees are meant to deter a potential adversary… if there is some kind of peace, the next time Russia tries anything against Ukraine, we might go to war with Russia,” he argued, as cited by The Guardian.

In this case, Sikorski said, this framework looks “not very credible.”

“If you want to go [to] war with Russia, you can do it today, and I see no volunteers. And there is nothing more dangerous in international relations than giving a guarantee that is not credible,” he added.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova pushed back against the comments, suggesting that Warsaw should have warned Kiev of the caveats in the potential guarantees before persuading it to follow a pro-Western path.

Moscow has signaled that it is open to Western security guarantees for Ukraine in principle, but stressed that they should not be aimed against Russia. It is also strongly opposed to NATO troops in Ukraine, arguing that the bloc’s expansion towards Russia’s borders was one of the key reasons for the conflict.

(It’s all talk pushed by Macron and Starmer. None of these countries have enough military to even protect their own countries. All they were doing, is to get their own citizens to think more highly of them, which will never happen. And it was all based on having US soldiers there, and that will NEVER happen!)
