Pakistan’s doctrine, said to rely heavily on rapid mobilization to counter India’s numerical advantage, is threatened by the fact that the army has just 96 hours-worth of ammo reserves for high-intensity conflict for its 155 mm howitzers and 122 mm rocket artillery.

This has left the nation’s “ability to blunt” a potential Indian offensive “severely compromised,” the outlet said.

Pakistan’s military command is “deeply concerned” with the situation, and the matter was discussed at a Special Corps Commanders Conference on May 2, sources said.

Pakistan’s military potential has also reportedly been impacted by the economic crisis the country is facing, leading to cuts in rations, and the halting of exercises and wargames amid fuel shortages.
