Bomb Squad Called Outside of Miami Courthouse Where Trump Will Be Arraigned

Multiple reports have revealed a suspicious device was spotted outside of the Miami courthouse where Trump is set to be arraigned.

Nicole Linsalata of 7 News Miami released footage of the Miami police officers responding to a T.V. tied up to a pole near the Federal courthouse where Trump will soon enter.

Linalata said the device has garnered the attention of the bomb squad officials.

According to reports, Trump supporters were told to move backward and remain behind a taped-off area in front of the Federal courthouse due to an alleged bomb threat.

President Donald Trump is set to turn himself over to police Tuesday, where he’ll be arraigned in a Miami courthouse on 37 indictment counts involving the retention of classified documents in his Mar-a-Lago home.

But ahead of his arrival, a bomb threat was called into the courthouse sending everyone scrambling.

MSNBC’s Yasmin Vossoughian explained that press was being forced away from the scene shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Has Anyone Seen This Man? Biden Special Counsel Robert Hur Appears to Have Vanished

With the arraignment of Donald Trump in Miami, Department of Justice (DOJ) special counsel Jack Smith is pushing forward with a historic criminal prosecution that could result in a terminal prison sentence for the 76-year-old former president and, at least for now, the leading Republican candidate in the 2024 election.

This also is the six-month anniversary of the appointment of another special counsel … Robert Hur. In the company of better-known appointees like Robert Mueller, John Durham and Smith, Hur is the prosecutorial version of the missing Beatle. He was appointed on Jan. 12 and then seemingly vanished.

Unlike the apparent leaks and speculation about the Smith investigation or the breathless accounts of Trump grand jury testimony, Hur’s investigation of classified documents allegedly found to be improperly in Biden’s possession appears to have all but disappeared.

The lack of leaks is, in one sense, a good thing; prosecutors should do their work without public comment. Moreover, Hur is well short of the multiyear investigations of special counsels Robert Mueller or John Durham. However, even with the Durham investigation, there still were indicators of action, from subpoenas confirmed by recipients to grand jury appearances.

Hur is clearly going to face heightened comparative scrutiny. The concern in many minds is that, once again, there may be a stark difference in how the Justice Department pursues Trump versus his opponents.

With then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her possession of classified documents on private email servers, the Justice Department was so accommodating that it seemed to send requests in gift baskets rather than as subpoenas. As State Department investigators worked to determine the potential compromising of classified information, she and some members of her staff did not fully cooperate initially and refused to turn over her emails and other evidence; Clinton declined to speak to the State Department’s inspector general. Ultimately, the FBI cut deals with her close aides to secure their cooperation. Later, additional classified material was found on the laptop of former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), who was married to top Clinton aide Huma Abedin — 49,000 emails, potentially relevant to the Clinton investigation.

A majority of the public at the time believed Clinton should have been charged in that case, and nearly half of Americans have come to view the FBI as politically compromised or untrustworthy.

Hur may answer all of these questions eventually, but he will be asked not simply whether there will be charges against President Biden but how he investigated the allegations.

With Trump, the FBI followed the familiar no-holds-barred approach to pursuing him, including a raid on his home at Mar-a-Lago.

According to ABC News, Trump is not expected to be handcuffed and no mugshot will be taken.

ABC News reported:

As negotiations reach final stages, ABC News has learned from sources that former President Donald Trump is not expected to be handcuffed or be required to empty his pockets when he’s processed at the courthouse on Tuesday.

Trump is also not expected to have a mugshot taken, according to sources.

His hands are expected to be scanned electronically, sources added.

Trump will be asked for his name and social security number when he’s processed, a law enforcement official told reporters.

The booking process is not expected to take long, a law enforcement official said, adding that it’s “the same process that everyone goes through.”

President Trump last week was indicted on 37 counts in Jack Smith’s investigation into presidential records stored at Mar-a-Lago.

Judge Jonathan Goodman will preside over President Trump’s arraignment at a federal court in Miami on Tuesday – Not Aileen Cannon.

Goodman banned cameras inside the courtroom.

Ukrainian forces havealready lost dozens of tanks and hundreds of armored vehiclesin their attacks on Russian positions, President Vladimir Putin told war correspondents on Tuesday.Kiev’s troops have so far failed to achieve success on any of the frontsin their long-touted counteroffensive, he added.

Russian positions have faced attacks in four major directions, the president said during a meeting at the Kremlin. He added thatUkrainian reserves, including those equipped with Western-supplied military hardware, had alsobeen thrown into the fray.

However, the offensive has led to massive losses in personnel and materiel for Kiev, Putin stated. “There are also losses that we do not see, which are a result of long-range high-precision strikes,” Putin said, claiming that Ukraine’sactual losses are likely higherthan the figures he had given. Regarding personnel, Putin saidRussian casualties were “ten times lower” than among Ukrainian forces.

The president also reiterated that the “fundamental goals” of the Russian military operation in Ukraineremain the same, and that the Kremlin does not plan to change them. At the same time, Putin maintained that Moscow “sincerely sought” to reach an agreement with Kiev and resolve the differences involving former southeastern Ukrainian regions, which have since joined Russia following a series of referendums in autumn 2022.

After long touting a counteroffensive, Ukraine finally launched its operation last week, although thus far it has apparently failed to bring about any dramatic changes on the front line.

The Russian Defense Ministry has reported that Ukrainian forces have lost dozens of pieces of military hardware in their attacks, including tanks and armored vehicles supplied by the West. The ministry has also published videos showing Russian forces successfully striking Ukrainian heavy equipment.

On Tuesday, one such video showed Russian soldiers seizing a German-made Leopard 2 main battle tank and US-produced Bradley infantry fighting vehicles. Kiev has demanded more tanks from Berlin amid the intense fighting.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has criticized Ukraine’s decision to remove Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin from the public square and replace him with Nazi collaborator Stepan Bandera, whom he called a “scoundrel and a fascist.”

Speaking at a meeting with war correspondents on Tuesday, the president said he was “surprised” by how Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who has Jewish heritage, could possibly support neo-Nazis.

Putin hints at Ukraine operation goals

Moscow does not plan to “march on Kiev” right now, the president has implied in a conversation with war correspondents

Russian President Vladimir Putin has made certain revelations regarding Moscow’s current goals in its military campaign in Ukraine.Russian troops are unlikely to mount an offensive targeting Kiev as of now, he hinted while discussing the operation with military correspondents and bloggers on Tuesday.

His comments came as the president was discussing a potential new mobilization campaign in Russia, the need for which would be defined by the operation’s goals, he said.

“Do we need to march on Kiev? If we do, then we need mobilization. If we don’t, then not,”Putin said, adding that “there is no need” to launch a new military draft campaign “today.”The president also said that Russian troops have enjoyed a steady inflow of volunteers. Over 150,000 people have signed a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry since January, he revealed.

Speaking about Russia’s “fundamental” goals in Ukraine, the president confirmed that they remained the same and that the Kremlin had no plans to change them.Missions are adapted based on developments on the battlefield, he added.

Back in February 2022, when Russia launched its military campaign in Ukraine, Putin cited the need to protect the people of Donbass, as well as Kiev’s failure to implement the 2014-2015 Minsk peace accords as the reasons for the move. He also said Russia was seeking the “demilitarization” and “denazification” of Ukraine, which included commitments by Kiev to maintaining a neutral status and abandoning plans to join NATO at the time.

On Tuesday, speaking about Ukraine’s NATO aspirations, Putin referred to the late St. Petersburg mayor Anatoly Sobchak. Putin had served as Sobchak’s deputy in the 1990s and once called the politician “his mentor and friend.”

“[Sobchak] was a clever man … he was right to say: ‘You want to leave? Leave. But leave only with something you had come with’,” the president told the military correspondents and bloggers.

Putin has previously repeatedly stated that southern and easternUkrainian regions that have now joined Russia were once Russian regionsduring the Russian Empire and were only made part of Ukraine by the Bolsheviks after the 1917 revolution.

The Biden administration and the pro-abortion PAC Emily’s List have each launched public relations offensives in support of Kamala Harris in recent weeks as polls show Harris to be the lost unpopular vice president in decades. The moves come after Biden announced his reelection campaign and credible allegations of bribery were revealed against Joe and Hunter Biden, prompting impeachment talk.

Emily’s List is reported to have said the group plans to spend “tens of millions” of dollars supporting Harris.

In addition to the usual posts documenting appearances, the Biden White House social media accounts have fluffed Harris with flattering photos and statements:

Two days ago the White House posted a photo of Joe and Jill Biden with Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff captioned “Dream team.”

The White House trying to give Harris that ‘Commander-in-Chief’ vibe, “This weekend, @VP made history as the first woman to deliver a commencement address at West Point.”

Emily’s List is promoting their campaign for Harris, vowing, “Not a single lie about VP @KamalaHarris will go unanswered. We are all in to defend and advocate for @KamalaHarris’ leadership as Vice President of the United States of America.”

Politico reported Monday on Emily’s List’s effort promoting Harris (excerpt):

…EMILY’s List, the political action committee whose aim is to elect female candidates supportive of abortion rights, says it will be spending “tens of millions of dollars” to defend and prop up the vice president during the 2024 election.

…Laphonza Butler, the president of EMILY’s List, told POLITICO that the effort is not to redefine but to “remind” voters of the politician that electrified enough of the party as a freshman Senator to have the juice to run for president.

“We’re going to tell the story about who she is, what she’s done, support her at every turn and really push back against the massive misinformation and disinformation that’s been directed towards her since she’s been elected,” said Butler, a longtime Harris ally.

At this point, the PAC is at the beginning of planning the exact scope of the investment, but Butler confirmed it will be in the range of tens of millions of dollars. When asked what the organization would spend the money on, Butler said she would not “take anything off the table at this point.” The group, she added, would target certain types of voters on various platforms.

Last month both Biden and Harris spoke at Emily’s List’s annual gala in Washington, D.C.

The Los Angeles Times keeps track of Harris’ polls numbers, comparing her approval to Biden as president and vice president and other recent vice presidents. Harris is immensely unpopular, even less popular than Biden.

The Times has Biden at 44 percent approval and Harris at 41 percent approval. Harris’ net favorability compared to the four previous vice presidents in their third year in office is stark: Pence, -9.1; Biden -13.3; Cheney -35.9; Gore -39.2

A month ago Democrat strategists expressed concern it may be too late to salvage Harris’ perception by voters (USA Today excerpt):

Today, in a Miami courtroom, the regime is executing their most significant, unjust and unfair election-interference maneuver since the 2020 wave of questionable mail-in ballots and secretive late-night “ballot counting” sessions held behind closed doors. Biden’s DOJ is indicting and attempting to imprison President Trump, the most popular candidate for the 2024 election, for the rest of his life. This is just plain wrong, and if this doesn’t reek of communism, we’re not sure what does. Biden’s DOJ is saying this is just a case of nobody being above the law (as if that’s not laughably absurd). As Federalist Senior Legal Correspondent Margot Cleveland repeatedly noted prior to the charges, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) appeared to share no “legitimate concerns” about the documents Trump kept in his Mar-a-Lago home. If they did, NARA failed to afford Trump the same help it gave the Obama administration in securing documents that needed to be preserved.

Yet, the Department of Justice still used the Espionage Act, which does not explicitly prohibit the retention of classified documents, to sic the FBI on Trump’s home in a dramatic raid last August.

President Joe Biden’s DOJ says this is about preserving the rule of law. Yet, if Democrats truly valued the rule of law, illegal border crossers, Russia hoaxers, Jeffrey Epstein’s clients, pro-abortion vandals, rioters, and the people who run corrupt government agencies like the Department of Justice, the FBI, the NSA, and the Manhattan DA’s office would be the ones standing in court, not Trump.

If muddled questions of personal or campaign payments were truly criminal matters, campaign finance offenders like failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and former President Barack Obama would have faced some punishment. Instead, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, encouraged by corporate media and Democrats who fear a second Trump term, revived a case that several DOJ officials previously declined.

The truth of the matter is that the regime’s entire survival depends on the total and complete destruction of Donald J. Trump. The investigation into former President Donald Trump over alleged mishandling of classified documents has been “irreparably tainted by government misconduct” and therefore could see the case thrown out entirely before trial, a former Trump criminal defense attorney claimed.

Timothy Parlatore, who served as a criminal defense attorney for former President Donald Trump until last month, has said that he believes there are fundamental flaws with the federal case against the current Republican frontrunner — particularly over the grand jury process and breaches of attorney-client privilege — which could result in the entire case being quashed before even heading to trial.

Detailing how he would approach the pretrial strategy in an interview with POLITICO, Parlatore said that Trump’s attorneys should “attack the conduct of the entire investigation and show through death by a thousand cuts why this entire investigation is irreparably tainted by government misconduct,” adding: “The case, therefore, should be dismissed or, at a minimum, the prosecutor should be disqualified.”

The defense lawyer said that one of the most important pretrial battles will concern the admissibility of the communication notes of Trump attorney Evan Corcoran, which were allowed to be used in the case by D.C. federal Judge Amy Berman Jackson, who allowed prosecutor Jack Smith to pierce attorney-client privilege under the “crime-fraud exception,” which allows the seal of secrecy between a lawyer and client if it is determined that their communications were made with the aim of gaining advice on how to commit a crime.

Parlatore argued that the decision to unseal the notes — which according to the New York Times “gave prosecutors a road map to building their case” — was made prior to the Trump legal team having full access to the evidence put forward against him and therefore the motion will likely have to be re-argued before the court. ...

Rep. Matt Gaetz, R- Fla., sent a letter Tuesday to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland demanding information on the office of special counsel Jack Smith, revealing that one of the prosecutors on his team investigating Trump for his alleged mishandling of classified documents previously contributed to President Biden's 2020 campaign and faced misconduct allegations in 2009.

Trump is in Miami where he is scheduled to appear at 3PM ET before a federal court after being indicted on 37 counts stemming from Smith’s investigation, including willful retention of national defense information, conspiracy to obstruct justice and false statements.

Gaetz is demanding that the names of all the people working on the case in Smith’s office be made public.

The congressman claimed in his letter that Smith’s past work "is both highly irregular and of extraordinary public concern," specifically "how his office is structured," and is giving Garland until July 7 to cough up "all staff rosters, phone lists, or similar records, within the custody or control of the Department of Justice, depicting all employees hired by or detailed to the office of Special Counsel Jack Smith."

Gaetz said it is "beyond debate" that such information should be available to the public, and that "this simple staff list cannot be withheld from Congress or the public on the basis of attenuated and entirely fantastic privacy concerns."

Gaetz pointed out that one of Smith’s deputies who has been named, Karen Gilbert, resigned in 2009 from her position as head of the narcotics section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida after alleged misconduct, which prompted an apology at the time from the DOJ.

What almost everyone in professional narrative engineering/punditry is missing, many of them because they are paid to pretend not to know, is that the national archivists gave sworn testimony to Congress about the Trump documents on May 17, 2023 {citation}. What I am going to outline below will explain the fraud that Jack Smith and his Lawfare crew are purposefully generating.

Some baselines are needed for you to understand what is happening.

First, the National Archives and the DOJ did not demand a return of Classified Documents. They requested a return of documents containing classification markings. These are two entirely different things.

Most documents containing classification markings are not classified documents; yet, most classified documents contain classification markings. Additionally, one of the documents used by Jack Smith in his indictment [COUNT #11] contained no markings at all.

Second, it is critically important to remember that throughout the legal issues in the aftermath of the Mar-a-Lago raid, the DOJ has viciously denied any responsibility to describe the classified documents they claim to have retrieved. In fact, the DOJ has fought against any entity, including the court appointed “special master”, from being able to look at the documents the DOJ *previously* claimed were either classified, or, vital to national security. {GO DEEP}

Because there is a very specific type of Lawfare taking place with words, it is critical to see the value in what Devin Nunes understands about the way the language is being deployed. Now we return to the testimony of the national archivist office, and here is where it gets really interesting.

♦ During testimony to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) officials were asked specifically about Trump documents and how they could *KNOW* fulsome return of documents had not taken place. The response from the NARA officials is enlightening:

♦ The indictment accuses President Trump of withholding documents containing “classified markings,” a very specifically deployed obtuse wording intended to create the implication of something nefarious where nothing nefarious exists. It is entirely possible for a person, any person, especially a person who follows the news, to possess documents containing “classified markings.”

There is a big difference between a classified document and a document containing classified markings. As an example, anyone who has looked at the Carter Page FISA application, made public in July 2018, has reviewed a document containing “classified markings.” When a document is declassified, they do not remove the markings.

This language is the underpinning of the entire DOJ/FBI framework that predicated the raid on Mar-a-Lago. Specifically, neither NARA nor the DOJ-NSD requested President Trump or his team to return Classified Documents. The DOJ demanded the return of any documents that contained “classified markings.” [SEE BELOW]

In a rare sighting, a pod of four killer whales was spotted swimming together in the waters off Massachusetts as a research team flew aerial surveys over the weekend, scientists announced Tuesday.

The killer whales, also known as orcas, were seen about 40 miles south of Nantucket on Sunday, according to the New England Aquarium.

Orla O’Brien, an associate research scientist who leads the aerial survey team for the Aquarium’s Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life, said it is “always unusual to see killer whales in New England waters.”

“Initially I could just see two splashes ahead of the plane,” added Katherine McKenna, an assistant research scientist who first spotted the whales. “As we circled the area, two whales surfaced too quickly to tell what they were. On the third surfacing, we got a nice look and could see the tell-tale coloration before the large dorsal fins broke the surface.”

The orcas were among nearly 150 whales and dolphins that the team spotted during the seven-hour flight, including 23 fin whales counting a mother and calf, five minke whales, 62 bottlenose dolphins, and 20 humpback whales bubble feeding, according to the Aquarium.

“Seeing them swim in formation was just unreal,” O’Brien said. “We believe the sighting to be two males and two females, but that hasn’t been confirmed. I think seeing killer whales is particularly special for us because it unlocks that childhood part of you that wanted to be a marine biologist,” O’Brien said, adding the species’ population is very small in western North Atlantic waters.

The only killer whale seen regularly in North Atlantic waters is “Old Thom,” a large male orca who is known to swim alone, sometimes alongside dolphins, in the Gulf of Maine and the Bay of Fundy, the Aquarium noted. He was last spotted off Cape Cod in May 2022.

For more than a decade, the New England Aquarium has conducted aerial surveys over the waters south of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, collecting data on all marine animals with a focus on protected species of whales and sea turtles.

“So the entire genesis of that G7 conversation was tied to your predecessor, who is about to launch another campaign. So how do you reassure them, if that is the reason for their questioning, that the former president will not return or that his political movement, which is still very strong, will not… once again take power in the United States?” a reporter asked Biden.

“Well, we just have to demonstrate that he will not take power by — if we — if he does run,” Biden said. “I’m making sure he, under legitimate efforts of our Constitution, does not become the next president again.”

Make no mistake about it. This was clearly a thinly-veiled threat to use the federal government’s power to prevent Trump from becoming president again. Democrats tried twice with two impeachment attempts and failed. Now, Donald Trump has been indicted for mishandling classified documents, something both Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden have done, yet have avoided being held accountable.

“None of them came into possession of those documents while they were president,” Trump attorney and spokeswoman Alina Habba explained. Hillary Clinton only served as secretary of state, and Joe Biden obtained and retained classified documents as a U.S. senator and vice president. “None of them were president—who, as the head and sole member of the executive branch—has the power to summarily declassify documents. The decision to pursue charges against President Trump while turning a blind eye to others is an emblematic of the corruption that we have here.”

Habba noted that targeting “a leading political opponent is the type of thing you see in dictatorships like Cuba and Venezuela,” where it is “commonplace there for rival candidates to be prosecuted, persecuted and put into jail.”

And yet, months ago, Joe Biden bragged about doing exactly that. He didn’t express confidence that Trump would lose in a free and fair election; he said he’d use the power of the government to stop Trump.

'I was shocked and horrified,' Nila Almstrom, a parent of an LGBT student, said at a town hall meeting about the protest.

Parents have told local news outlets their straight-identifying students said they felt forced to participate and were 'offended' by the Tennessee Williams quote that reiterated that the human heart is 'curved like a road through the mountains' and only lines and streets can be straight.

'My daughter just said, "You know, mom, that's offensive to me, I am straight,"' Christine Steiner told WCVB. 'Some of the kids threw the stickers on the ground. But I can only speak for my daughter, she just didn't want to wear that to school. It's not that she wanted to hurt anybody's feelings.'

However, Burlington Public Schools said in a letter to parents that the district is 'obligated to provide a safe environment for all students to feel safe, seen and respected without retaliation.'

'I recognize that discussions and celebrations of individual identity are complex and impacted by individual values, religions, and cultural norms, the result of which may include expressions of racism, anti-religious hate, ableism, and in this case homophobia,' Superintendent Eric Conti wrote.

New study links contraceptive pills and depression

In a global perspective, depression is the leading cause of ill health and disability. More than 264 million people are affected and at least 25 percent of all women and 15 percent of all men experience a depression that requires treatment at some point during their life.

The possibility that contraceptive pills might have negative effects on mental health and even lead to depression has long been discussed. Although many women choose to stop using contraceptive pills because of the influence on their mood, until now the picture emerging from research has not been straightforward. This study, now published in Epidemiology and Psychiatric Sciences, is one of the largest and widest-ranging to date, following more than a quarter of a million women from UK Biobank from birth to menopause.

The researchers collected data about women's use of contraceptive pills, the time at which they were first diagnosed with depression and when they first experienced symptoms of depression without receiving a diagnosis. The method of contraception studied was combined contraceptive pills, which contain progestogen, a compound resembling the hormone progesterone, and estrogen.

Progestogen prevents ovulation and thickens the cervical mucus to prevent sperms from entering the uterus, while estrogen thins the uterine lining to hinder the implantation of a fertilized egg.

"Although contraception has many advantages for women, both medical practitioners and patients should be informed about the side-effects identified in this and previous research," says Therese Johansson of the Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology at Uppsala University, one of the researchers leading the study.

According to the study, women who began to use contraceptive pills as teenagers had a 130 percent higher incidence of symptoms of depression, while the corresponding increase among adult users was 92 percent.

"The powerful influence of contraceptive pills on teenagers can be ascribed to the hormonal changes caused by puberty. As women in that age group have already experienced substantial hormonal changes, they can be more receptive not only to hormonal changes but also to other life experiences," Johansson says.

U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) is again taking action against (literally) weaponized bureaucracy by leading the charge in the upper chamber to ensure the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is not using tax dollars from hardworking Americans to arm its employees — and going beyond just that to disarm the taxman and move the IRS' investigation division over to the Justice Department.

According to an Open the Books report released last month, the IRS has spent more than $35 million since 2006 on firearms, ammunition, and tactical gear for its glorified and federally empowered accountant force, with some $10 million of that taxpayer-funded armament coming since just 2020.

The last three years saw the IRS spend some "$2.5 million on ballistic shields ($1.2 million) and ‘various other gear for criminal investigation agents” ($1.3 million)" plus $267,000 worth of ballistic helmets, $243,000 worth of body armor vests, and "nearly $1 million on Smith & Wesson rifles ($474,000) and Beretta 1301 tactical shotguns ($463,000)," per Open the Books.

"The taxman is fully loaded and funded by the taxpayer," Senator Ernst emphasized to Townhall on Tuesday. "The important question remains, why does the IRS even have or need weapons?" That's a good question, and one Ernst seeks to remedy once and for all with a new bill she's rolling out on Tuesday.

Davis, Space Sensing’s incoming program executive officer (PEO), assumed leadership of Space Systems Command’s (SSC) Space Sensing Program Executive Office during a change of leadership ceremony held at SSC headquarters, Los Angeles Air Force Base, California, June 8.

Davis succeeds Col. Brian Denaro, who served as Space Sensing’s PEO once SSC was established as a U.S. Space Force Field Command in August 2021.

Brig. Gen. Jason Cothern, SSC, deputy commander, officiated the ceremony, highlighting Denaro’s achievements for SSC Space Sensing, which he described as “undoubtedly one of our nation’s most important missions – truly our nation’s unblinking eye.”

“Col. Denaro is an outstanding leader,” Cothern said. “As we transitioned and grew into Space Systems Command, Col. Denaro took over in Space Sensing as program executive officer and has been doing an incredible job since day one.”

While Denaro’s efforts played an integral role in advancing the program’s office to support SSC’s efforts to get after the threats in space, the program office’s momentum to run and build systems will only further under Davis’ leadership.

“How we underpin the national security and nuclear security of our nation is built on the backs of [our workforce] – you know what it takes to get after the threat,” said Denaro. “Col. Davis, best of luck to you. You are coming into a situation where you have amazing and talented people who I know will continue to deliver.”

Davis, who joins as the new PEO with more than 20 years of military service, amplified the importance of the workforce’s need to remain vigilant with its ability to prevail in its given mission because, as he exclaimed, “make no mistake…we are absolutely in a race.”

In his address to the audience Davis also shared his commitment to the U.S. Space Force lines of effort, specifically Amplifying the Guardian Spirit, and encouraged the audience to read the force’s new Guardian Spirit handbook, released last April.

“It lays the foundation for how I approach my service to you, through character, connection, commitment, and courage,” stated Davis.

Davis’ previous military tours included space mission areas where he focused on space control and overhead intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities including satellite acquisition, launch, operations, and associated staff work for both the U.S. Air Force and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).

Prior to assuming the PEO role, Davis served as the Senior Material Leader for the Strategic Systems Acquisition Delta within SSC’s Military Satellite Communications and Precision, Navigation, and Timing (MCPNT). In this role, he directed a combined team of military, government civilian, and contract personnel in the development and acquisition of the nation’s most critical strategic space capabilities for users across the National Security Space and Strategic Command communities.

NASA and Boeing said Monday the aircraft produced through the agency’s Sustainable Flight Demonstrator project has been designated by the U.S. Air Force as the X-66A.

The new X-plane seeks to inform a potential new generation of more sustainable single-aisle aircraft – the workhorse of passenger airlines around the world. Working with NASA, Boeing will build, test, and fly a full-scale demonstrator aircraft with extra-long, thin wings stabilized by diagonal struts, known as a Transonic Truss-Braced Wing concept.

“At NASA, our eyes are not just focused on stars but also fixated on the sky. The Sustainable Flight Demonstrator builds on NASA’s world-leading efforts in aeronautics as well climate,” said NASA Administrator Bill Nelson. “The X-66A will help shape the future of aviation, a new era where aircraft are greener, cleaner, and quieter, and create new possibilities for the flying public and American industry alike.”

The X-66A is the first X-plane specifically focused on helping the United States achieve the goal of net-zero aviation greenhouse gas emissions, which was articulated in the White House’s U.S. Aviation Climate Action Plan.

“To reach our goal of net zero aviation emissions by 2050, we need transformative aircraft concepts like the ones we’re flying on the X-66A,” said Bob Pearce, associate administrator for NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate, who announced the designation at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Aviation Forum in San Diego. “With this experimental aircraft, we’re aiming high to demonstrate the kinds of energy-saving, emissions-reducing technologies the aviation industry needs.”

NASA and Boeing sought the X-plane designation shortly after the agency announced the Sustainable Flight Demonstrator project award earlier this year. The Air Force confers X-plane status for development programs that set out to create revolutionary experimental aircraft configurations. The designation is for research aircraft. With few exceptions, X-planes are intended to test designs and technologies that can be adopted into other aircraft designs, not serve as prototypes for full production.

“We’re incredibly proud of this designation, because it means that the X-66A will be the next in a long line of experimental aircraft used to validate breakthrough designs that have transformed aviation,” said Todd Citron, Boeing chief technology officer. “With the learnings gained from design, construction, and flight-testing, we’ll have an opportunity to shape the future of flight and contribute to the decarbonization of aerospace.”

For the X-66A, the Air Force provided the designation for an aircraft that validates technologies for a Transonic Truss-Braced Wing configuration that, when combined with other advancements in propulsion systems, materials, and systems architecture, could result in up to 30% less fuel consumption and reduced emissions when compared with today’s best-in-class aircraft.

Due to their heavy usage, single-aisle aircraft today account for nearly half of worldwide aviation emissions. Creating designs and technologies for a more sustainable version of this type of aircraft has the potential for profound impact on emissions.

NASA’s history with the X-plane designation dates to the 1940s, when its predecessor agency, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) jointly created an experimental aircraft program with the Air Force and the U.S. Navy. The X-66A is the latest in a long line of NASA X-planes. Additionally, NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, California, has provided technical expertise and support for several additional X-planes.

Population-based cohort study of oral contraceptive use and risk of depression

Abstract

Aim

Research on the effect of oral contraceptive (OC) use on the risk of depression shows inconsistent findings, especially in adult OC users. One possible reason for this inconsistency is the omission of women who discontinue OCs due to adverse mood effects, leading to healthy user bias. To address this issue, we aim to estimate the risk of depression that is associated with the initiation of OCs as well as the effect of OC use on lifetime risk of depression.

Methods

This is a population-based cohort study based on data from 264,557 women from the UK Biobank. Incidence of depression was addressed via interviews, inpatient hospital or primary care data. The hazard ratio (HR) between OC use and incident depression was estimated by multivariable Cox regression with OC use as a time-varying exposure. To validate causality, we examined familial confounding in 7,354 sibling pairs.

Results

We observed that the first 2 years of OC use were associated with a higher rate of depression compared to never users (HR = 1.71, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.55–1.88). Although the risk was not as pronounced beyond the first 2 years, ever OC use was still associated with an increased lifetime risk of depression (HR = 1.05, 95% CI: 1.01–1.09). Previous OC use were associated with a higher rate of depression compared to never users, with adolescent OC users driving the increased hazard (HR = 1.18, 95% CI: 1.12–1.25). No significant association were observed among adult OC users who had previously used OCs (HR = 1.00, 95% CI: 0.95–1.04). Notably, the sibling analysis provided further evidence for a causal effect of OC use on the risk of depression.

Conclusions

Our findings suggest that the use of OCs, particularly during the first 2 years, increases the risk of depression. Additionally, OC use during adolescence might increase the risk of depression later in life. Our results are consistent with a causal relationship between OC use and depression, as supported by the sibling analysis. This study highlights the importance of considering the healthy user bias as well as family-level confounding in studies of OC use and mental health outcomes. Physicians and patients should be aware of this potential risk when considering OCs, and individualized risk–benefit assessments should be conducted.

(LifeSiteNews) — The Catholic church that Joe Biden attends in Washington, D.C., is holding its third annual “LGBTQIA+ Pride Mass” on Wednesday, June 14th at 5:30pm. The Catholic group America Needs Fatima will hold a Rosary rally outside beginning at 5:00pm in reparation.

Holy Trinity is a Jesuit-run parish that falls under the jurisdiction of Cardinal Wilton Gregory, the Archbishop of Washington D.C. Gregory is an outspoken supporter of LGBT normalization in the church. Last year, he issued a decree placing severe restrictions on the celebration of the Latin Mass in the Archdiocese.

A 31-year-old graduate student who has same-sex attraction has emailed Gregory calling on him to stop this year’s “Pride Mass” from taking place.

Founded in 1787, Holy Trinity has a long-running “LGBTQIA+ ministry” that affirms homosexual and gender-confused persons in their sinful lifestyles. “Our lay-led ministry embraces individuals who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning/queer, intersex, asexual and their families and friends,” their website reads. The church’s pastor, Fr. Kevin Gillespie, defended the “Pride Mass” by citing Pope Francis’ call to “go out to the margins.”

“Our celebration of Pride is not celebrating personal vanity, but the human dignity of a group of people who have been for too long the objects of violence, bullying and harassment,” he wrote in a statement, which made no mention of Catholic teaching on the sinfulness of LGBT acts or lifestyles.

Despite professing to be Catholic, Joe Biden was one of the first politicians in Washington to endorse homosexual “marriage” in 2012. The Church’s catechism considers the practice of homosexuality to be one of the four sins that cry to heaven for vengeance. The indictment of former President Donald Trump amid allegation of “mishandling national secrets” is the natural next phase of the left-wing establishment’s arrogance and corruption. The left has been desperately trying to stop Mr. Trump since he announced his candidacy in 2015. (Recall the made-up Trump Tower-Moscow scandal, the phony Russia-Trump collusion scandal, the made-for-TV impeachment effort, etc.) The constant attacks have eroded Americans’ trust in government institutions, a far bigger problem than the left’s hatred of Mr. Trump. A shooting in Denver, Colorado, early Tuesday morning that left 10 injured is believed to be linked to a "drug nexus" involving fentanyl, police say.

Denver Police Department Commander Matt Clark told reporters Tuesday that two people are in custody and five weapons have been seized following the violence that broke out as fans flooded the streets of the city to celebrate the Denver Nuggets winning the franchise's first NBA championship Monday night.

The Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat, 94-89, in Game 5 to clinch the title.

Police identified the suspects as 22-year-old Ricardo Vasquez and 33-year-old Raul Jones. Vasquez was found to be suffering from a gunshot wound.

Vasquez is being held on charges of possession of a weapon by a previous offender and for possession of a controlled substance. Jones is being held for possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

Denver Police said the shooting in the 2000 Block of Market Street — which is believed to be unassociated with the Nuggets celebrations — resulted in 10 total victims.

Police said they believe five to six of the victims were bystanders not involved in the drug deal.

Medical officials said as of Tuesday afternoon, the five who remain hospitalized are in fair condition and four of them had to immediately undergo surgery.

"Crime scene technicians also located a significant quantity of fentanyl pills in the area that were bundled in several baggies," Clark said, adding that investigators believe a "drug nexus" is linked to the shooting. At least 20 rounds were fired, he said, striking nine adult men and one adult female.

Denver Police PIO Doug Schepman told Fox News the shooting happened at approximately 12:30 a.m. MT.

"Preliminary info indicates multiple shots were fired during an altercation involving several individuals," the police department wrote on Twitter.

It is not immediately clear if the individuals were specifically targeted or if there was more than one shooter.

"This is a complex, ongoing investigation in its early stages. Preliminary info indicates multiple shots were fired during an altercation involving several individuals. Updates will be provided as they become available," the police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
