The DOJ must respond to a complaint filed under seal in the DC court by Stanley Woodward, the lawyer for indicted Trump aide Walt Nauta alleging prosecutorial misconduct.

DOJ prosecutor Jay Bratt tried to bribe Walt Naut’s lawyer Stanley Woodward in order to get his client to testify against Trump.

Bratt brought up Woodward’s application for a judgeship and suggested it would be blocked unless he forced his client to testify against Trump.

According to RealClearInvestigations journalist Paul Sperry, the DOJ must now respond to a complaint filed under seal related to the attempted bribe.

Trump’s aide Waltine (Walt) Nauta was indicted by the Florida grand jury hearing evidence in Jack Smith’s classified documents case.

According to the indictment, Walt Nauta was told to move boxes after the former president received a subpoena in May for classified documents.

Walt Nauta is a former White House employee and Navy veteran who worked valet for Trump and served as a personal staffer at Mar-a-Lago.

According to the federal indictment reviewed by The Gateway Pundit, Nauta was charged along with Trump in counts 32, 33, 43, 35, and 36.

The charges include conspiracy, withholding a document or record, corruptly concealing a document or record, concealing a document in a federal investigation and scheme to conceal.

Walt Nauta was also charged alone in count 38: False statements and misrepresentations.

According to The Guardian, Biden’s DOJ tried to bribe Walt Nauta’s lawyer in exchange for testimony against Trump.

Jay Bratt Assistant Special Counsel Leading Trump Indictment Was Previously Part of Obama’s Espionage Act Prosecution Frenzy

According to the Associated Press, “The Obama administration used the 1917 Espionage Act with unprecedented vigor, prosecuting more people under that law for leaking sensitive information to the public than all previous administrations combined.”

In total, the Obama administration prosecuted a total of eight government officials under the 1917 Espionage Act which is more than any other administration combined.

One of the prosecutors that aided the Obama administration to prosecute American government officials “without evident signs of espionage” was Jay Bratt.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported Bratt is under scrutiny for allegedly bribing Stanley Woodard the lawyer who is representing Trump’s co-defendant Walt Nauta in the Mar-a-Lago documents case.

Currently, Jay Bratt is serving as the assistant special counsel in the 37-count indictment against Trump which includes one bogus charge of violating the Espionage Act.

Back in 2012, Bratt argued in Federal court that former Obama Espionage Act prisoner James Hitselberger, who served as a Navy contract linguist, was a flight risk and should have remained in prison until trial.

A Judge ruled against Bratt’s pleas and ordered Hitselberger to be released from jail and placed him on home detention at his aunt’s home.

Per Politico:

A federal judge has ordered the release from jail of a Navy contract linguist facing two felony counts for allegedly taking four classified documents to his personal quarters at a U.S. military base in Bahrain. Over the objections of prosecutors, U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Contreras instructed that the translator, James Hitselberger, be placed in home detention at his aunt’s residence in Arlington, Va. as he awaits trial. He’ll also be required to wear a GPS monitoring device, the judge said.

Hitselberger’s case is the seventh brought during the Obama Administration involving charges under the Espionage Act for leaking, or mishandling classified documents without evident signs of espionage. Prosecutions for taking classified documents away from work without permission are rare and usually occur when espionage is suspected or when the suspect is high-ranking. Prosecutors have said they have no evidence Hitselberger was involved in espionage.

Prosecutor Jay Bratt argued that Hitselberger was a flight risk because, after being confronted over removing the documents and then being dismissed from his post in Bahrain, he interrupted a trip back to the U.S. and spent several months traveling in Europe. Hitselberger was arrested in October after he traveled to Kuwait, was denied entry to the country and deported to the U.S.

Hitsleberger ultimately “pleaded guilty to a single misdemeanor of unauthorized retention and removal of classified documents, and the Espionage Act charge was dropped.”

The weaponization of the Espionage Act started under Obama and is now continuing under the Biden administration.

4,000+ Churches Split from Pro-LGBTQ+ United Methodist Church Denomination

More than 4,000 congregations have left the United Methodist Church (UMC) this year over its embrace of LGBTQ+ ideology, Catholic News Agency (CNA) reported this week.

Just the past weekend, 60 congregations left the UMC in Michigan, as did 250 in Kentucky. By Tuesday afternoon 4,876 Methodist churches completed the process to break away from the UMC, Jay Therrell, president of the Wesleyan Covenant Association and a leader in the “disaffiliation” movement, told CNA.

“According to UM News, the official news-gathering agency of the UMC, 4,645 churches officially split from the UMC so far this year. That is more than double the number of churches that left in the previous year (2,003) and almost 10 times the number in 2021 (486),” according to the report, which noted that nearly one-quarter of UMC congregations have officially broken away within the last five years.

Therrell told the outlet that “the authority of Scripture and the lordship of Christ” has “deteriorated for many, many years in the United Methodist Church, and that problem is “playing out in the issue of human sexuality.”

He added that many of the disaffiliated churches are choosing to join Global Methodist Church, which is more theologically conservative. The Wesleyan Covenant Association helped found the Global Methodist Church in 2022 and has amassed 2,500 congregations, according to the report.

“We absolutely believe that the United Methodist Church is drifting day by day ever more progressive,” Therrell said. “We have bishops all across the globe who are completely violating the Book of Discipline. They are allowing all sorts of things to happen that violate various paragraphs, much of it to do with human sexuality.”

The infighting over LGBTQ+ issues “erupted in full force in 2019” after the General Conference of the UMC debated whether to promote homosexuality in the church. While the idea was scrapped 53 percent to 46 percent in favor of promoting traditional marriage and heterosexuality, the UMC still “steered the church toward the left on key social issues such as LGBTQ+ ideology,” the report states.

The UMC’s website reportedly states that “Everyone is welcome to worship and actively participate in the life of our churches” and that “laypersons may become members and live out their faith through their local church without respect to sexual orientation or practice.” The website also reportedly states that the denomination may shift its teaching on LGBTQ+ issues in the future.

“In the United States, the UMC is divided into five “jurisdictions.” Each of these jurisdictions passed similar measures in 2022 stating that “LGBTQIA+ people will be protected, affirmed, and empowered” in the church, according to the report, which cited the AP. “Of the 46 active UMC bishops, two are openly homosexual, despite official UMC policy denying the ordination of LGBTQ+ persons.”

Therrell said the pro-LGBTQ+ resolutions show where the UMC is headed in the future.

Kherson authorities estimate financial cost of dam destruction

According to an official from the Russian-controlled part of region, tally amounts to more than 11.5 billion rubles ($138 million)

Authorities in the Russian-controlled part of Kherson region have rolled out their initial estimate of the damage caused by the destruction on Tuesday of the Kakhovka dam. The incident, which Kiev and Moscow are blaming on each other, caused severe flooding along the course of the Dnieper river.

In a post published on his Telegram channel on Saturday, the chair of the regional government Andrey Alekseenko wrote that, according to preliminary calculations,the damage incurred runs into 11.5 billion rubles, or roughly $138 million.

“And this figure may be far from the final one,” the official pointed out.

He added that special surveyors are currently inspecting households in order to estimate the damage in each individual case, which will be compensated by local authorities.

Alekseenko also noted thatRussian emergency servicesare actively working in the region to rescue any remaining survivors and to disinfect areas where the floodwaters have subsided.

On Thursday, Vladimir Leontyev, the mayor of Novaya Kakhovka – the town where the dam was located – reported thatfive people had lost their livesin the wake of the incident, and that 41 more had been injured.

Novaya Kakhovka is situated on the left shore of the river and is controlled by Russia, while Ukraine holds the opposite side of the Kherson region. Ukrainian officials also reported that there were fatalities after the flooding on the right shore.

On Wednesday, commenting on the destruction of the dam, Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine and its Western backers of gambling on a path of dangerous escalation. The Russian leader characterized the incident as a “barbaric act.”

Ukraine, for its part, insists that its forces could not have blown up the structure as the power plant was being held by the Russian military. Officials in Kiev also stressed that none of the missiles at their disposal could possibly have caused so much damage, particularly given that the Soviet-era dam was designed to withstand a nuclear strike.

The organization's Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO) detected a glow in Kilauea summit webcam images on Wednesday at 4:44 a.m. (14:44 GMT), indicating a new eruption.

Before that, it last erupted in January, with activity stretching into March.

USGS said on Thursday (June 8) it was lowering a safety alert for Hawaii's Kilauea volcano, a day after warning that a new eruption had taken place there. Kilauea's alert level was moved "from WARNING to WATCH because the initial high effusion rates have declined, and no infrastructure is threatened," the USGS said in a statement. Aviation warnings were lowered from red to orange, it added.

Kilauea, located in a closed national park on Hawaii's Big Island, is one of the world's most active volcanoes. The current eruption is expected to continue, but lava flows are expected to remain confined to the surrounding crater and summit, USGS said.

In 2019, a string of earthquakes and a major eruption at Kilauea led to the destruction of hundreds of homes and businesses.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also pledged even more military aid to Kiev

The Canadian government has confirmed its plans to seize and transfer to Kiev anAntonov-124 transport aircraft, owned by Russia’s Volga-Dnepr air carrier. The announcement comes amid Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s surprise visit to Ukraine.

The seizure of this “important asset” is the “first step of the Government of Canada’s action under the asset seizure and forfeiture regime and is designed to put additional pressure on Russia,” Ottawa said in a press release on Saturday.

TheAn-124 Ruslan had been chartered by the Canadian government from a Russian air carrier to deliver a cargo of Covid tests from China back in 2022. It landed in Toronto on February 27, mere hours before Canada closed its airspace to all Russian aircraft, and has been grounded ever since.

“From the beginning we have stood on the side of the Ukrainian people, and implemented a NOTAM against all Russian-owned and operated flights into Canada,” transport minister Omar Alghabra said in a statement. “We stand with Ukraine and will take any and all necessary actions,including this seizure, to put pressure on President Putin.” (Trudeau is an idiot, he’ll steal assets from other countries, he’s going to have other countries second guessing whether to work with him. But he’s doing what he wanted to do with the truckers!)

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a surprise visit to Kiev on Saturday, alongside his Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, during which he called Ukraine the “tip of the spear that is determining the future of the 21st century.”

“We want peace on Ukrainian terms,” Trudeau claimed, announcing CA$500 million (US$375 million) more in Canadian military aid, but offeringno details on how the new funding would be distributed. (So Trudeau will steal from other countries so they don’t have to contribute more for weapons. What is Ukraine going to do with a charter jet?)

Since February 2022, Canada has already committedsome $8 billion to support the Kievgovernment's battle against Moscow, while imposing multiple rounds of sanctions against Russian individuals and entities.

With the Volga-Dnepr added to the Canadian list of sanctioned entities several months ago, Ottawa will now “seize the asset and manage it in accordance with federal legislation,” the statement said. “Should the asset ultimately be forfeited to the Crown,Canada will work with the Government of Ukraine on options to redistribute this asset,” it added.
