(c) assists an enemy at war with Canada, or any armed forces against whom Canadian Forces are engaged in hostilities, whether or not a state of war exists between Canada and the country whose forces they are.

(b) without lawful authority, communicates or makes available to an agent of a state other than Canada, military or scientific information or any sketch, plan, model, article, note or document of a military or scientific character that he knows or ought to know may be used by that state for a purpose prejudicial to the safety or defence of Canada;

(c) conspires with any person to commit high treason or to do anything mentioned in paragraph (a);

(d) forms an intention to do anything that is high treason or that is mentioned in paragraph (a) and manifests that intention by an overt act; or

(e) conspires with any person to do anything mentioned in paragraph (b) or forms an intention to do anything mentioned in paragraph (b) and manifests that intention by an overt act.

(3) Notwithstanding subsection (1) or (2), a Canadian citizen or a person who owes allegiance to Her Majesty in right of Canada,

(a) commits high treason if, while in or out of Canada, he does anything mentioned in subsection (1); or

Does this apply to politicians who hold office? Yes, of course.

To build the case, demand from elected reps the evidence that would make rock solid the accusations that have formed the basis of the PM's declaration of emergency.

Empty assertions do not suffice. A vote in the HOUSE is probably protected, however, if there is a conspiracy to wage war on Canada, on Canadians, then, the case can be made POLITICALLY, at the very least, that a baseless declaration of emergency, without an actual emergency in evidence, is to partake in a conspiracy that is treasonous.

There may be a legal case, as well, but first and foremost call your reps and collect the evidence that THEY do not have evidence to support the asserted emergency. If they refuse to share the basis, then, they are acting in secret even when casting a vote in HOUSE. That should not stand.

Each Canadian, whether in favour or against mandates, is entitled to see the direct evidence that would support, make rock solid, the currently empty assertions of unlawfulness and so forth.

The declaration, if it were to go into effect with various orders proposed by PM, might then make unlawful what has been lawful. Please note that the PM in his news converence said that 'the protests are no longer legal'.

FOR EMPHASIS - no longer legal. Meaning the protests were legal all all along BEFORE the faulty premise of the decree of emergency. The real question at THIS MOMENT is whether or not the decree is lawfully supported by evidence. If not, it does not meet the basic criteria for enactment.

The distinction between lawful and legal should not overlooked. This is the significance of civil disobedience. This is the signsificance of contests in courts that set one black letter law against another black letter law or reguation or mandate. This is the significance of testing any act under colour of law with comparison to the actual constitution and charter.

TRUDEAU can not legitimately decree a lawful protest illegal. That he can not reconcile this problem is the reason he must rely on false allegations, false accusations, and falsehoods that he has fabricated to create a rather thinly disguised hostility toward the exercise of democratic rights and mobility rights.

On Friday, the CBC interviewed New Brunswick 'cyber security expert' David Shipley, who claimed Russians are behind the protests.

he Canadian broadcast media continues to push the conspiracy theory that the Canadian Freedom Convoy truck drivers are being spurred on by Russian agents of chaos, planted to sow dissent among the populace.

In a move reminiscent of the Democrats’ myriad of efforts to smear former president Donald Trump as a Russian asset, the CBC first attempted to raise unfounded claims that “Russian actors” were among the Canadian truckers that have taken to Ottawa.

As previously reported by Rebel News, the protesters have been smeared as “white supremacists” and various other labels portraying them as a “fringe movement.”

In early February, the CBC news anchor Nil Koksal offered Parliament member Marco Mendicino the theory that “Russian actors” were behind the convoy.

“There is concern that Russian actors could be continuing to fuel things as this protest grows. Perhaps even instigating it from the outset,” Koksal said, without substantiating the origin of the theory. Koksal cited Canada's support for Russia-enemy Ukraine as evidence.

The anchor’s remarks set off a storm of backlash on Twitter, where many mocked the talking head for offering unfounded speculation as news, the Daily Mail reported.

For at least two of the members, supporting the Freedom Convoy would qualify as jeopardizing the 'apolitical imperative associated with their functions.'

Two members of the Canadian Armed Forces, who are part of the elite Joint Task Force 2 unit, are reportedly under investigation for allegedly taking part in the Freedom Convoy protest, currently ongoing in Ottawa.

The special forces soldiers are under investigation according to a statement from the Department of National Defence, Canadian state media CBC reported:

Maj.-Gen Steve Boivin, commander of the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command, said the first case came to the attention of senior leaders on Feb. 1, and the other on Feb. 10.

Both members were already in the process of being released from the Canadian Armed Forces and were supporting the protest “in some form or another,” he said.

A source who spoke to the broadcaster under the condition of anonymity said that the two members are part of JTF2, which is Canada’s special forces unit dedicated to counter-terrorism, protective service and special reconnaissance.

The CCLA declared that Trudeau and his government failed to meet the necessary requirements to invoke the Emergencies Act.

The Canadian Civil Liberties Association has broken its silence to condemn the Trudeau government’s move to restrict personal liberties for protesting truck drivers who participate in traffic blockades.

Earlier today, Justin Trudeau and his cohorts in the federal government invoked the Emergencies Act, effectively curtailing freedoms for Canadians that comes with the ability for banks and other financial institutions to freeze personal and corporate funds without a court order, the targeting of cryptocurrencies, and many other restrictions. Some of the measures are permanent.

In a series of posts on Twitter, the CCLA declared that Trudeau and his government failed to meet the necessary requirements to invoke the Emergencies Act, which has never been invoked prior. Its precursor, the War Measures Act, was invoked by Trudeau’s father, Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, in 1970 in response to terrorism.

“The federal government has not met the threshold necessary to invoke the Emergencies Act. This law creates a high and clear standard for good reason: the Act allows government to bypass ordinary democratic processes. This standard has not been met,” the CCLA wrote.

“The Emergencies Act can only be invoked when a situation ‘seriously threatens the ability of the Government of Canada to preserve the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of Canada’ [and] when the situation ‘cannot be effectively dealt with under any other law of Canada,’” the civil rights organization continued. A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports finds that 59% of Likely U.S. voters support the Canadian trucker protest, including 42% who Strongly Support the “Freedom Convoy.” Thirty-three percent (33%) of voters oppose the trucker protest against Canada’s COVID-19 restrictions, including 21% who Strongly Oppose the protest. One day before Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked emergency powers to crack down on anti-vaccine mandate protesters, state media outlet CBC published material claiming that ‘freedom’ is now a “far right” concept.

A CBC article argues that freedom is now a “malleable term” and is “open to interpretation,” citing its use by the Canadian trucker convoy, which the piece suggests is a far right movement.

CBC quotes Barbara Perry, the director of the Centre on Hate, Bias and Extremism at Ontario Tech University, who claims freedom “is a term that has resonated…. You can define it and understand it and sort of manipulate it in a way that makes sense to you and is useful to you, depending on your perspective.”

Perry wheeled out the inevitable January 6th comparison, stating “I think it… maybe takes some inspiration from what we’ve been seeing in the U.S. over the last year and a half or so, leading up to the last election and events of Jan. 6.”

The article also quotes another “expert”, Elisabeth Anker, an associate professor of political science at George Washington University, who argues that “Freedom is a slippery concept.”

Anker states “On the far right, [individual freedom] is often translated into somebody who refuses to be bound by norms of equality, treating all people equally or norms to remedy inequality, whether that’s trying to remedy racial discrimination or gender discrimination.”

The “professor” also said that when right wingers exercise their rights it is “violent freedom,” that can easily lead to danger, discrimination and be anti-democratic.

SURREY, B.C.—A massive police surge late in the evening on Feb. 14 ended a protest in Surrey, B.C., which began after local RCMP blocked access to the Pacific Highway border crossing two days earlier.

The Canada Border Services Agency says traffic is now moving at the border crossing.

Several dozen police officers joined dozens of other officers already on the scene, and together they moved in to clear the protesters who remained in the area.

A large group of demonstrators opposed to vaccine mandates protested at the border crossing on Feb. 12 and Feb. 13, which police said was mostly peaceful apart from some people crossing police barricades and driving in the opposite direction on 176 Street.

Police have made several arrests at the protest site, but haven’t confirmed the number of arrests.

A man who arranged security for the protesters and businesses in the area, who did not provide his name, said he saw approximately two dozen people arrested after police moved in on the evening of Feb. 14.

Police then advanced to the camp headquarters two blocks north and told protesters and their supporters to clean up the camp and leave or face arrest and confiscation of their property and supplies, he said.

Some protesters said there was a tense stand-off between police and demonstrators.

A leaked database of donations made to Canadian truckers protesting against vaccine mandates has listed hundreds of Australians among the convoy's supporters.

The leaked data suggests more than 500 Australians donated to the fundraiser for the Canadian protesters

The largest Australian donation was from a Melbourne woman who gave $US1,300 ($1,817)

The money was raised on GiveSendGo, a Christian fundraising platform which has previously been used to fundraise for campaigns related to the January 2021 attack on the US Capitol

The Canadian protest has caused global consternation after it brought Ottawa to a standstill and inspired similar events in New Zealand and Australia.

The Canadian government has expressed particular concern about the role of overseas fundraising in sustaining the convoy.

A fundraiser on the self-styled Christian crowdfunding website GiveSendGo raised more than $US8 million for the Canadian protesters, with $US33,734 USD ($47,319) of this coming from donors who are listed as being in Australia.

On Monday, the GiveSendGo website was taken over by anonymous hackers and a spreadsheet was leaked containing the details of almost 93,000 donations.

The dataset lists individual names, email addresses, donation amounts and postcodes as well as messages of support for the Canadian convoy, such as: "Fighting with you all the way from Australia" and "Sending full support from our family here in Australia".

The ABC contacted several Australians on the list who confirmed they had made payment to the fundraising campaign. On Wednesday Australian time, GiveSendGo confirmed on Twitter that its website had been breached.

News outlets in the United States and Canada have also confirmed local donors.

The ABC confirmed the highest single donor on the Australian list to be a Melbourne woman who contributed $US1,300 ($1,817).

The woman, who did not wish to be identified, said she had family and friends who had lost their jobs due to vaccine mandates.

She said when she saw what was happening in Canada, she felt compelled to act.

"I haven't got much, but I wanted to donate as much as I could on principle," she told the ABC.

"I went to the Canberra protests over the weekend and do you know how exhausting it is to drive for eight hours?

They are due in court Friday along with Evan Colenutt, 23, of Raymond.

Also charged with mischief and possession of a weapon were: Ursula Allred, 22, of Magrath; Colenutt, 23; Justin Martin, 22, of Raymond; Eastin Stewart Oler, 22, of Raymond; Joanne Person, 62, of Coutts, and Janx Zaremba, 18, of Raymond. They, along with Colenutt, were released pending court hearings on March 15.

The standoff at the Alberta-Montana, Canada-U.S. border crossing has come to an end.

The border blockade in Coutts, Alberta has officially come to an end.

A pair of the protests spokesmen spoke to Rebel News' Sydney Fizzard last night, telling him that following the arrests of 11 people involved at the Coutts border blockade, those still remaining at the crossing would be leaving to maintain the peaceful nature of their demonstration.

“We as the Coutts convoy have decided that, as a peaceful protest [and to] maintain that narrative, we will be rolling out [Tuesday] morning,” a spokesman for the truckers told Rebel News. “We hope that we have started something that will have such wide-reaching effects that governments will continue to go back to the grassroots, listen to the constituents, and that these restrictive mandates will soon be eliminated.”

On Tuesday morning, true to their word, the blockaders departed from Coutts.

Upon their departure, the protesters donated the remaining food supplies that had been collected during the demonstration to locals in Coutts.

OTTAWA, Ontario (LifeSiteNews) — Spokespeople and individual truckers associated with the Freedom Convoy have made it clear that they are not going anywhere, following Prime Minister Justin Trudeau saying he will enact the Emergencies Act.

A trucker named David Paisley spoke with the Daily Wire today and said: “No one really cares about any new announcement.”

“They’ve already been doing these ‘emergency powers’ and all it does is make people dig their heels in more,” Paisley added. “The irony … is that these very powers and threats are why we are here.”

Spokespeople for the Freedom Convoy released a video early Tuesday morning outlining positions in reaction to Trudeau’s comments.

One of the men, Jeff, said that there is “no reason” to be nervous and that he wanted to “reassure” supporters that their positions haven’t changed.

He mentioned rumors that the truckers had made a deal with local police to get their trucks out of Ottawa, but he denied this. According to Jeff, some of the trucks had moved from residential neighborhoods on their own accord and joined the convoy downtown because their “intention was never to be an inconvenience to the residents of Ottawa.”

He also said that in light of threats from the federal government about financial assets being seized, the convoy does not foresee any issues in providing resources to demonstrators.

Jeff said that they have more supplies than they need, and that cash donations keep flooding in, as well as donations of services from the surrounding area.

This is in line with what David Paisley told the Daily Wire. He said, “You come and sit in the driver’s seat for a few hours and you’ll be able to fill up your wallet again. It’s incredible. People are just handing you fifties, hundreds, packs of hundreds. A friend of mine received a Bible and when he opened it up it had 500 cash inside the bible.”

Those speaking on behalf of the truckers reiterated their commitment to peaceful protest and urged supporter to remain calm and not overreact to any announcements from the government.

Thursday morning, Ottawa bylaw officials announced that anyone participating in the on-going protests, which began over two weeks ago, could risk having their pets seized. The move to threaten pet-owners follows increased efforts by both the city and federal authorities to bring an end to the truck drivers’ protests over Canadian vaccine mandates.

“If you are unable to care for your animal as a result of enforcement actions, your animal will placed into protective care for 8 days, at your cost,” warned Ottawa bylaw on Twitter. “After 8 days, if arrangements are not made, your animal will be considered relinquished.”

While it’s unclear what the government officials mean by the term “relinquished,” the warning garnered outrage on social media, with many expressing dismay over the city’s threat.

The move to threaten protesters comes as Ottawa police and bylaw officials hand out notices to truck drivers still camped out near Parliament Hill at Wellington Street and R. O’Connor Street. Despite the warnings, protesters are yet to vacate the area.

We reported earlier this week that the government in Canada announced that they will be taking the assets of individuals backing the trucker protests in the country.

On Monday Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister said the government was taking action to freeze bank accounts of protesting truckers and their supporters.

The Canadian government has warned that it will freeze the bank accounts and suspend the vehicle insurance of truckers who continue to form blockades in protest of vaccine mandates, as the country declares a national emergency to quell the resulting gridlock.

“This is about following the money. This is about stopping the financing of these illegal blockades,” said Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland at a press conference on Monday.

“We are today serving notice if your truck is being used in these illegal blockades, your corporate accounts will be frozen. The insurance on your vehicle will be suspended,” she continued, adding at another point in the conference that personal financial accounts would be included in the order.

TGP reported last night and provided evidence that she was an admirer of George Soros and her grandfather was a Nazi under Hitler.

Now tonight reports coming on of Canada show that there is something going on with the banks. It looks like a run on the banks.

This ‘run’ may be related to the state’s actions according to some guesses.

Prominent Canadian psychologist and author Dr. Jordan B. Peterson has announced that the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) is investigating him after he told someone who was concerned about overpopulation that he was “free to leave at any point.”

The offending tweet, said Peterson, was directed at McGill University medicine professor Roger Palfree, though Peterson said it was not Palfree who complained to the CPO.

“Based on the record of human behaviour, we are already overpopulating this small world,” Palfree tweeted on Jan. 2. “Any arguments I have heard for supporting such a large human population completely overlook the loss of species and ecosystems resulting from our self-absorbed attention.”

“You’re free to leave at any point,” Peterson replied.

The investigation by CPO will conclude in six months, said Peterson, though he added, “I refuse to defend myself against such things anymore. It takes days of work to mount such a defence.”

CPO serves as the governing body for psychologists and psychological associates in Ontario. Peterson said that many professions have a governing body and that those bodies become weaponized.

He added that the investigation process itself serves as the punishment and that people who submit complaints “know this full well.”

Peterson said that he would not be participating in CPO’s investigation, and he encouraged the governing body to take his licence if they wanted.

“I’ve helped perhaps millions of people with my lectures and books,” he said. “But any one person anywhere can complain to the college about anything I’ve done and threaten my licensure, smear my reputation and tie me up in red tape.”

Peterson has had prior dealings with the CPO, including an allegation of professional misconduct in 2018.

The CPO could not be reached for comment in time for publication.

The email from someone by the name of FruitBussy – a handle accompanied by an extremely vulgar bio – informed my contact that “supporting crime is never a good idea, especially on a platform run by deranged dimwits.”

The email’s recipient remains understandably shaken.

“It is very distressing what my country and my countrymen have become,” he said. “I am ashamed of my fellow Canadians.”

The Canadian government’s Emergency Measures Regulations: SOR/2022-21 order bans people from taking part “in a public assembly that may reasonably be expected to lead to a breach of the peace.”

However, the law does not apply to “any person in a class of persons whose presence in Canada, as determined by the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration or the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, is in the national interest.”

This includes Indians, refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers and ‘protected temporary residents’.

The exemptions have left some people asking if the prohibition order only applies to white people.

“Why are members of First Nations, refugees and temporary residents exempted from the prohibition to ‘participate in a public assembly that may reasonably be expected to lead to a breach of the peace’ as part of the Emergencies Act regulations?” People’s Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier tweeted.

It appears as though the Canadian government views native Canadians as second class citizens who should have fewer rights than foreigners.

In a series of unhinged TikTok video rants, hacker Aubrey Cottle gleefully proclaimed, “I doxed the truckers. I did it. It was me!”

“I hacked GiveSendGo, baby, and I’d do it again!” screeched Cottle, who also goes by the name Kirtaner.

“I did it, I did it,” screamed the crazed hacker at his victims. “Come at me, what are you going to do to me, huh?

“This is Aubrey Cottle. He hacked GiveSendGo and he doesn’t care if anyone knows it,” tweeted journalist Ian Miles Cheong, editor of Human Events. “He’s live on TikTok bragging about doxing and releasing the info that’s currently getting thousands of people fired from their jobs for donating to the Freedom Convoy.”

Cottle went further, announcing, “I hacked Epic Hosting! I hacked Parler! I hacked GAB! I hacked Truth Social! I hacked GiveSendGo! I don’t care!”

“I’m literally a famous f*cking cyberterrorist,” he declared.

In another TikTok video Cottle seemed to beg for a violent confrontation with Canadian truckers.

“Cottle is a left-wing extremist who took credit for the hack (and displayed his severe mental instability) in a TikTok proclamation where he bragged about his success,” wrote Sundance at The Conservative Treehouse (TCT).

But Cottle apparently was not working as a lone wolf, and some believe his assertion that now, as in the past, he is working tacitly with Canadian government and law enforcement agencies.

The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) contracted Cottle to “dox and honeypot Freedom Convoy, without justification,” suggested The Hyphen-Report’s John George.

Some Ottawa community centres are now requiring children as young as five to show proof of double vaccination to enrol in its programs, while one is requiring adults to have had their third shots.

The Glebe and Ottawa South community centres, as well as the Dovercourt Recreation centre, are all requiring that children born in 2016 or earlier show proof of double vaccination in order to participate in programs.

These programs include after school clubs, breakfast clubs, art and dance classes, as well as summer and March break camps.

Today’s government spending scandal information comes to us by way of an order paper response from the government to a question asked by Conservative MP Cheryl Galant that was read into the official parliamentary record two weeks ago.

In March 2020, the Trudeau government quickly allocated $2 billion to buy protective personal equipment. However, like with all government spending, that amount quickly ballooned to $8 billion. One of the businesses awarded that public health manna from heaven was Thornhill Medical which was the recipient of an agreement to spend $200,451,621 for the purchase of 1,020 ventilators.

Conservative MP Cheryl Gallant asked Health Canada how many of the 1,020 Thornhill ventilators were delivered and then deployed.

Only 857 of the 1020 units purchased by Health Canada in the nearly one-quarter billion-dollar contract were delivered and only 59 were ever deployed.

“I want to reach a hand across the country, to say thank you to the truckers, the truckers’ families, and all the people who have joined hands in Ottawa to stand up for what is right, and to protect and speak for the rest of us Canadians,” Malthouse said from his home in British Columbia on Canada’s west coast.

Students taking the survey are given the option to identify as multiple combinations of genders, including both a boy and a girl simultaneously, and are allowed to craft a personalized description of their gender identity.

A Catholic school board in Canada will ask students to self-certify their gender identity and provide other private information in a school-wide survey kept hidden from parents.

The Waterloo (Ontario) Catholic District School Board (WCDSB), which made headlines for flying an LGBTQ pride flag outside its headquarters last year, announced the launch of its “School Climate Survey” for children in grades 4 through 12 on its website.

Students will have from February 22 to March 11 to complete the voluntary survey, which the board says will be anonymous.

The survey adopted by the school district is called the Middle Years Development Instrument (MDI) and was developed by a research team at Human Early Learning Partnership (HELP) led by Dr. Kim Schonert-Reichl at the University of British Columbia.

According to the school board, whose motto is “Quality, Inclusive, Faith Based Education,” the 77-question survey “asks students about their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in school and in the community.”

The WCDSB, which states that it is committed to “dismantling racism” and working “intentionally to disrupt oppressive systems for the benefit of future generations,” said the goal of the research is to “help prevent bullying and promote safe and inclusive schools, determine the effectiveness of programs on an ongoing basis, and build and sustain a positive school climate.”

The school board has stated that only staff within the district’s Research & Data Services Department “will have access to your child’s anonymous survey responses,” which will otherwise be kept hidden from parents, teachers, and principals.

Some of the questions included in the lengthy survey have raised alarm bells, especially those having to do with gender identity.

According to a copy of the survey obtained by LifeSiteNews, students are asked to identify which adults they “live with most of the time,” including options for selecting “two mothers,” “two fathers,” or “other adults.”

Children are also asked to answer “how do you describe your gender?”

The survey respondents, children age nine through 18, can select “boy,” “girl” or indicate that they identify “in another way.” Continue...

A watchdog group summary of spontaneously reported adverse reactions from the so-called “gold standard” abortion pill regimen shows numerous reports of serious events resulting in hospitalization.

Four total reports of life-threatening sepsis, numerous reports of hemorrhaging, and numerous failed abortions were among the findings of a report on the abortion pill regimen Mifegymiso, released in January by The Canada Vigilance Program, “a spontaneous reporting system” designed to detect “potential health product safety issues.”

The summary shared 43 reports of “adverse reactions” from Mifegymiso, the name in Canada for the combined use of Mifepristone and Misoprostol. The regimen is on the World Health Organization’s (WHO) list of essential drugs and is considered the “gold standard” for early medical abortion, according to the WHO.

A caveat on the first page of the report highlights the fact that these adverse reactions have been reported on a voluntary basis, and they cannot be used to determine the incidence of a particular reaction, or to estimate the risk of a product, since the total number of reactions and number of users of the abortion pill regimen is unknown.

So, I have been following the trucker convoy protests pretty closely on social media. Watching all the videos of police brutality, looking over all the photographic evidence. What’s been interesting to following is the Ottawa Police twitter account, and the Canadian mainstream media. The Ottawa Police has just been tweeting out continuous lies, and the media just repeats those lies.

In my last post, I had a lot of photos and videos of the police running people over with horses, beating them with rifles, spraying them with tear gas, etc. The victims are peaceful unarmed protesters. But what’s new today is that one of the militarized RCMP police leaked a bunch of text messages from a group that many of them below to. Elections Canada says it will be conducting a probe after it was revealed earlier this month that nearly 205,000 mail-in ballots went uncounted during the 2021 federal election.

According to Blacklock’s Reporter, Chief Electoral Officer Stephane Perreault said during a Commons House affairs committee that it was “unfortunate” that the record number of ballots was not included in the final election results.

“Obviously any late ballot is unfortunate. These are people who wanted to cast a ballot but we were not able to count them,” said Perrault.

“We’ve never had such a large-scale vote-by-mail operation. We are looking at every angle to see how it can be improved in the future.”

Ahead of the 2021 election, Elections Canada encouraged voters to cast mail-in ballots instead of attending voting stations due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

As if the scenes out of Ottawa weren’t already disturbing enough, videos emerged on Saturday of Canadian law enforcement officials diligently filming the crowds of protesters as they continue clearing the convoy.

In one example, Officers with handheld cameras can be seen perched above and behind the line of police for a better view.

The dystopian scene is all the more concerning when you consider what Nancy Pelosi and the sham witchhunt commission have done in the aftermath of January 6th. Hundreds of Americans were tracked down and are still being unconstitutionally held in the DC gulag – and that was without the use of something like the Emergencies Act, which is what is being used by Trudeau in Canada right now.

Ottawa’s Interim Chief of Police Steve Bell was asked about the surveillance during today’s press conference, and, unfortunately, he confirmed that law enforcement is likely going to be following the Jan 6th playbook with the videos they collect.

In response to a reporter’s question about if police will be pursuing the people they have documented after the protests have ended, Bell stated that the police “will actively look to identify” people on the videos so that officers can track them down and hit them with “financial sanctions and criminal charges.”

“This investigation will go on for months to come,” he adds.

Trudeau and his Snowflake Stasi (SS) officers have taken their tyranny way too far. Any and all violence, or at very, very least the overwhelming majority of it, has been spurred and carried out by the police, not the protesters.

They have been peacefully exercising their rights to stand up to Trudeau’s tyranny – nothing more. This is unacceptable, it’s Canada’s Tiananmen square moment. Canadians – and Americans – will not forget this horror show.

Because a man with any sense of decency does not send men on horseback into a crowd.

The only thing worse than are the people commenting on this saying some variation of ‘well, she deserved it.’

Yes, she could have gone home.

Yes, she could have gotten the clot-shot.

Yes, she could have just complied with whatever Justin Trudeau told her what her morality was.

But Trudeau could have chosen differently as well. As opposed to acting like a scared little boy worried about facing public ridicule, he could have sacked up and met with the protestors.

Instead, he did what all boy-emperors have ever done, he chose violence and intimidation.

Those who blame the victims are worse than Justin Trudeau. They will never admit it, even to themselves, but their belief in the state as moral arbiter is shaken to its foundation when things like this happen.

So they bluster about playing stupid games, win stupid prizes. Empathy? Who needs that in Davos’ Brave New World.

Those against the protests have their reasons, none of them, however, are morally justified. Because if you allow the state, an immoral construction at its core, to define your morality, you will forever having to justify tyranny to remain on the side of the angels.

Blaming the victim is the easiest thing to do. How many rapists have claimed “she had it coming?” How many abusers every day blame the people they abuse because they are too ashamed to admit they are in the wrong?

The part of the Great Reset pertaining to COVID-19 was always about amplifying the divisions between people. To create a new religion around it. Its sacrament is the vaccine. Its Lord’s prayer is demonizing ivermectin and trusting the science. Its vestment is the mask.

Exit committee declares pandemic effectively over in Canada as it has reached the endemic stage, and should be treated as such

A group of leading scientists, doctors, and policy professionals says it is time to end all COVID-19 restrictions across Canada, including vaccine mandates and passports.

Known as the Canada Science & Policy Committee to Exit the Pandemic, the group says the pandemic is effectively over because it has reached endemic stage.

“It’s endemic. We’re good to go on the general immunity front,” Irvin Studin, co-chair of the committee, said at a press conference on Feb. 18.

“At the front end on COVID-19, all restrictions are, for all practical intents and purposes, to be removed expressly. Vaccination mandates, vaccination passports, masking requirements, quarantining requirements, testing requirements are to be removed expressly.”

The group issued a national exit plan on Feb. 18, detailing how Canada can transit out of the pandemic over the next few months, with an emphasis on dropping all related mandates and restrictions immediately.

For the immunocompromised, aged, and those with comorbidities, the group recommended early interventions, seasonal vaccination, and other treatments.

Studin said now that the plan is ready, it will be briefed to governments and decision-makers across the country. He noted many of them have already been briefed.

“It will help them. In some cases, they will use it outright. In other cases, they will fill in details for local realities,” he said.

The exit committee, made up of 15 members across disciplines and all regions in Canada, was launched in January under the aegis of the think tank Institute for 21st Century Questions (21CQ).

Among the committee’s core members are Dr. Kwadwo Kyeremanteng, a critical care physician from the Ottawa Hospital; Pierre Pettigrew, former health minister of Quebec; Thomas Michalak, professor of Molecular Virology and Medicine (Hepatology) at Newfoundland and Labrador’s University; and Alexandra Lysova, associate professor of Criminology at Simon Fraser University.

Shocking video emerged on Sunday that shows a group of Ottawa Police officers harassing a woman and threatening her with arrest for daring to record a video as she walked down the street to get a coffee.

Immediately upon spotting the camera, the officer begins to get hostile.

“Why is that camera in my face right now? The officer asks angrily. “Are you here partaking [in the protest]? You are in the red zone right now.”

“I’m scared. I want to go for a coffee down there,” the pedestrian replies, pointing behind the officers.

After questioning her about where she’s from and finding out she is from Alberta, not Ottawa, the officers get visibly irritated and immediately tell her it’s “time for you to leave.”

“I can’t even go down there for a coffee?” she asks in disbelief.

“No, you are in the red zone right now. If you don’t leave right now you will be arrested,” he replies.

As the woman turns to walk away, the camera pans to show that more officers have arrived. “Grab your stuff. We will be patrolling all day. If we see you again things will be different, the partner warns.

The partner’s words cause the woman to turn around and focus the camera onto the officers again, which causes the initial officer to launch forward and forcefully rip the camera out of her hands like a lunatic.

“What did I tell you? Take your camera and get outta here!” He yells. Walk away, your phone doesn’t need to be in our faces when you’re walking away.

As she grabs the phone to leave, he appears to hold onto the phone for an extra second in order to shout “get out of here” in her face.

Absolutely shameful.

Throughout the pandemic, the CDC has diligently maintained a running tally of Covid-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths for the public to view – you know, all of the numbers that make up the majority of virus fear porn.

But that information amounts to just a fraction of the data that has been collected by the agency.

According to a new report by the New York Times, the CDC has also been collecting much more detailed data about Covid infections that breaks down by age, race, and vaccination status. The critical information would go a long way towards figuring out an end to the pandemic, but the agency has purposefully suppressed the information from the public over fears that it would be “misinterpreted” and cause “vaccine hesitancy.”

In other words, the ‘experts’ in the US public health regime believe the plebs aren’t capable enough to interpret something themselves.

Within the data that has been withheld by the CDC are detailed information about breakthrough cases, hospitalizations, and deaths, which the agency has been collecting since the beginning of the vaccine rollout, according to officials who spoke to the NYT.

So much for the bogus lie that has been pushed by public health officials for months, claiming that breakthrough infections weren’t being tracked at all. The medical elites just decided to hide the data because it didn’t fit the approved narrative, and, naturally, blamed the potential for ‘misinformation’ as justification for the coverup.

From the New York Times:

“Kristen Nordlund, a spokeswoman for the C.D.C., said the agency has been slow to release the different streams of data “because basically, at the end of the day, it’s not yet ready for prime time.” She said the agency’s “priority when gathering any data is to ensure that it’s accurate and actionable.”

Another reason is fear that the information might be misinterpreted, Ms. Nordlund said.”

The performance of vaccines and boosters, particularly in younger adults, is among the most glaring omissions in data the C.D.C. has made public.

Last year, the agency repeatedly came under fire for not tracking so-called breakthrough infections in vaccinated Americans, and focusing only on individuals who became ill enough to be hospitalized or die. The agency presented that information as risk comparisons with unvaccinated adults, rather than provide timely snapshots of hospitalized patients stratified by age, sex, race and vaccination status.

But the C.D.C. has been routinely collecting information since the Covid vaccines were first rolled out last year, according to a federal official familiar with the effort. The agency has been reluctant to make those figures public, the official said, because they might be misinterpreted as the vaccines being ineffective.

Ms. Nordlund confirmed that as one of the reasons. Another reason, she said, is that the data represents only 10 percent of the population of the United States. But the C.D.C. has relied on the same level of sampling to track influenza for years.”

Why would data about breakthrough infections fuel ‘vaccine hesitancy?’ Could it be because the numbers really look that bad?

It has been obvious since early 2020 that there has been an organized cult outreach that has permeated the world as a whole. It’s possible that this formed out of a gigantic error, rooted in a sudden ignorance of cell biology and long experience of public health. It is also possible that a seasonal respiratory virus was deployed by some people as an opportunity to seize power for some other purpose.

Follow the money and influence trails and the latter conclusion is hard to dismiss.

The clues were there early. Even before the WHO declared a pandemic in March 2020 (at least several months behind the actual fact of a pandemic) and before any lockdowns, there were media blitzes talking about the “New Normal” and talk of the “Great Reset” (which was rebranded as “Build Back Better”).

Pharmaceutical companies such as Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, and Astra-Zeneca were actively lobbying governments to buy their vaccines as early as February 2020, supposedly less than a month after the genetic sequence (or partial sequence) was made available by China.

As a person who spent his whole professional career in pharmaceutical and vaccine development, I found the whole concept of going from scratch to a ready-to-use vaccine in a few months simply preposterous.

Since a movement dubbing itself the ‘Freedom Convoy’ emerged at the end of January and headed to Ottawa to protest vaccine mandates for border crossings, labour leaders, the media and online activists have moved from perplexed to outright hostile. Some have even cheered on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s announcement this week of plans to invoke the 1988 Emergencies Act to clear out the protests. But the impulse to defend freedom and self-determination has attracted a diversity of groups to the cause. The fact that many indigenous have joined in support of the protests tells us that the desire for freedom is a spark we would do well not to extinguish.

Throughout their time in the Canadian capital, the truckers have attracted support from a wide cross section of Canadian society including indigenous Canadians who make up about 5% of the Canadian population. Many members of my own family joined the convoy, making their way south to Ottawa from Northern Ontario. Some joined in at the capital. Indigenous people appeared in full regalia and others wore orange T-shirts symbolising protest against atrocities at residential schools. While some groups within the convoy undoubtedly held different ideas about the underlying causes, two clear demands have emerged: 1) end covid-related mandates, and 2) roll back forms of digital surveillance enacted since the start of the pandemic. Liberty Coalition, recalling how it had sought to alert the Canadian authorities to its “profound concern about the indefinite suspension of civil liberties, coercive mandates and perpetual state interference in the life, freedom and worship of the church,” noted how it had been “largely ignored, brushed aside, insulted and even told we in no way represent Canadians.”

Yet when the “hugely popular” Freedom Convoy “presented your government with a wonderful opportunity to meet with and speak to ordinary Canadians lawfully and peaceably requiring the restoration of their constitutional rights,” Trudeau had “insulted, denigrated and lied about them, further dividing a hurting and broken nation,” the Coalition wrote.

“We do not hesitate to fulfill our responsibility as servants of the living God by unapologetically reminding you that Jesus Christ is Lord and King and the ruler of the kings of the earth,” continued the open letter.

While all eyes were on Ottawa this past weekend as police forces removed the Freedom Convoy protesters, other protests across the country went unnoticed for the most part.

The Canada/U.S. border in Surrey, B.C., was closed for most of Saturday, Feb. 19, with a blockade set up by convoy supporters.

Protesters in Winnipeg have blocked a street leading to the Manitoba legislature for weeks and have no intention of moving any time soon.

Over 1,000 demonstrators descended on the Alberta legislature in Edmonton, while I personally observed a protest march of thousands through downtown Calgary on Saturday afternoon.

The Calgary protest was surely one of the largest held in living memory, yet it barely garnered notice from the legacy media outlets.

I don’t doubt there were other demonstrations in other parts of Canada on that day, but it is tough to find reference to them as there appears to be a concerted effort on the part of the mainstream media to ignore them. It is little wonder demonstrators have been standoffish with mainstream reporters at times.

The Freedom Convoy phenomenon hasn’t been shut down through the police action in Ottawa—it’s been decentralized. The heavy hand of the law only scattered the demonstrators and has made them more determined than ever to push back against government-imposed pandemic mandates.

Canada: Police Confirm Probe into Alleged Officer Texts Celebrating Trampling Protesters

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) published a statement on Sunday confirming it is “looking into” alleged screenshots of text messages circulating this weekend that appear to show Canadian officers celebrating police brutality against the Ottawa Freedom Convoy protesters.

Law enforcement began a violent operation this weekend against the Freedom Convoy, a peaceful protest movement seeking an end to civil rights violations like vaccine and mask mandates, business lockdowns, and other coronavirus-related government limitations on freedom. The Convoy is largely trucker-led and has consisted of large trucks occupying major cities and blocking international road crossings. Its largest iteration was in Ottawa, where police dispatched officers on horseback to attack unarmed protesters beginning on Friday and have reportedly arrested nearly 200 people, despite no reports of significant violence prior to the police’s arrival.

“The RCMP is aware of the material circulating on social media pertaining to a chat group that includes some of its members, and we can confirm that we are looking into the matter,” the agency said in a statement on Sunday. “This material is not representative of those who have committed themselves to serving Canadians with integrity and professionalism.”

The statement claimed that RCMP officials had “put in place measures to ensure the continued integrity of police operations as well as the safety of our members.” It also reiterated that police officers have a “responsibility to hold themselves to the highest professional standards and are subject to the Code of Conduct of the RCMP at all times.”

“This includes acting with integrity, fairness, and impartiality, and avoiding any potential conflicts between their professional responsibilities and private interests,” the statement read.

The RCMP did not confirm that the texts in question were authentic.

The statement appeared to be a response to a report by the conservative Canadian outlet Rebel News published this weekend featuring screencaps of an alleged group text chain featuring RCMP and other law enforcement members. The most egregious comments printed were attributed to someone identified as RCMP Musical Ride member Andrew Nixon, including a photo of a pint of beer with the caption, “Cheers crew! Here’s to some sweet OT [overtime] this weekend for our on call members. Don’t kick all of them out until next weeks [sic] group gets our turn.”

Another text attributed to Nixon read, “Time for protesters to hear our jackboots on the ground.” When another group member joked, “this is a kinder gentler RCMP,” the person identified as Nixon replied, “Okay we can give out free hugs and unicorn stickers.”

Rebel News also published several images of the group allegedly discussing a widely circulating video of mounted police attacking the Freedom Convoy protesters in Ottawa, appearing to trample at least two people with their horses.

“Just watched that horse video- that is awesome!!! We should practice that manoeuvre,” one of the comments, whose alleged author was not identified, read.

Rebel News noted that it had not independently authenticated the alleged texts.

Rebel News also claimed its own journalist Alexa Lavoie suffered police brutality while attempting to report on the police dispersal.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s decision to invoke the Emergencies Act passed a vital vote in the House of Commons on Monday thanks to the parliamentary support of Jagmeet Singh and the New Democratic Party (NDP).

185 MPs voted in favour of the act with 151 against.

The NDP sided with the Liberals in passing the motion, while the Conservatives and the Bloc Quebecois opposed it.

The Trudeau government invoked the act on Feb. 14, immediately granting itself unprecedented powers. However, the government needed to seek approval from the House of Commons within seven days in order to extend its use for at least another four weeks.

Had the vote had failed, the emergency declaration would have been revoked immediately. As a confidence vote, it would also likely have triggered a federal election.

The passing of the motion in the House of Commons will keep the emergency measures in place until mid-March at the latest. The Senate must also vote on the government’s request, although this will serve more as a formality.

Immediately after the vote, interim Conservative leader Candice Bergen attempted to enter a motion recalling the use of the Emergencies Act.

Her motion was ruled out of order.

“We will continue to fight this power grab by the Prime Minister and his government,” Bergen said in a statement following the vote.

“That’s why immediately following the vote, Conservatives gave notice of a motion to revoke the Prime Minister’s emergency. Liberal and NDP MPs will need to explain to Canadians why they are continuing to enforce a national state of emergency that gives the federal government far-reaching powers and authority.”

Since the act was invoked last Monday, supporters of the Freedom Convoy have had their bank accounts frozen, while police in Ottawa brutally cracked down on protesters over the weekend. All border blockades, including those in B.C., Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario, had already been cleared before or shortly after Feb. 14.

Trudeau is the first Prime Minister in Canadian history to invoke the Emergencies Act since it was created as a successor to the War Measures Act in 1988.

Earlier on Monday, Trudeau justified invoking the act and urged other MPs to support its continued use.

“Invoking the Emergencies Act has been necessary. Law enforcement agencies relied on it to set up secured areas in downtown Ottawa and at border crossings,” said Trudeau.

“It prevented foreign money from continuing to fund illegal blockades, and it’s making sure our borders remain open. It has been the responsible thing to do.”

Moments after the motion passed, MPs voted to adjourn Parliament until Feb. 28 – in the middle of a so-called national emergency.

The agenda was strategic (give credit where credit is due). In fact, it was so well implanted, that most people were literally willing to give up all their freedoms as they desperately wanted to appear virtuous by "following orders and saving lives".

With protesters refusing to let go, their strategy only allowed for them to double down. This in turn, forced the monster to come out much earlier than they planned. The monster was not ready and did not have the necessary time to hide its true nature.

The emergency act, the presence of the UN on Canadian soil, the freezing of funds, the violence directed towards those calling for freedom; all of these things loudly roar out to the world that Canada is not a democracy. It is a communist country run by a foreign dictator.

Anyone who has been paying attention over the last few years clearly already understood this.

Now its time for the majority (those who watch the msm and actually thought they were being good people by staying in their homes and injecting themselves with big pharma’s experimental syringes) to see the truth.

Freedom Convoy organizer Tamara Lich has been denied bail by a judge in Ottawa on Tuesday morning. The judge intimidated that she posed a “substantial risk” and that her detention was “necessary for the safety and protection of the public.”

According to Global News, the convoy leader desired to be released on $5,000 bail.

Another convoy organizer who was arrested, Chris Barber, was released on $100,000 bail and was sent home to Saskatchewan.

Lich has spent five nights in prison, and it was made known to the court that she had no criminal past. She is also on record saying she would abide by conditions associated with her release.

The charges laid against Lich include “mischief,” which could lead to a maximum of 10 years in prison, depending on the severity of the alleged mischief and the fallout.

Lich was not involved in any violence throughout the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa, and standing at barely five feet tall, is a mother and grandmother of Métis Aboriginal heritage.

The Ontario judge who denied Freedom Convoy organizer Tamara Lich bail on Tuesday ran as the federal Liberal candidate for Glengarry-Prescott-Russell in 2011.

Julie Bourgeois, who was a Crown attorney when she ran, came in second place for the Liberals in the 2011 federal election, losing to former Conservative MP Pierre Lemieux.

Bourgeois also made 71 donations to the federal Liberals from 2009 to 2014, ranging in amounts from $5 to $1,186.

During her failed campaign, Bourgeois spoke about how tough times led people to commit crimes.

“Not necessarily major crime,” she said. “You see desperate people going through desperate times.”

Justin Trudeau himself had also praised Bourgeois in a campaign video.

“Her vision, her authenticity, her strength is going to be an amazing asset,” said Trudeau in a video from 2011, before he became Liberal leader. “Both for the people of Glengarry-Prescott-Russell but also to everyone in the House of Commons after the next elections when I will have, hopefully, the honour of sitting beside her in the House.”

Lich, who is facing counselling to commit mischief charges, was denied bail on Tuesday.

“I cannot be reassured that if I release you into the community that you will not reoffend,” Bourgeois said in her decision.

The judge said the convoy’s effect on Ottawa was immense and that Lich was stubborn in her responses to the court during her bail hearing. She said that the organizer’s detention “is necessary for the protection and safety of the public.”

The revelation that the judge was a failed Liberal candidate came when prominent Canadian psychologist and author Dr. Jordan B. Peterson posted an email from a tipster on Tuesday.

“Said judge did not recuse themselves for a perceived conflict, nor did the organizing judge take issue with assigning this care to them,” said the tipster. “Even to a former Yugoslav like me, I am surprised.”

After posting a photograph of a family member on a light pole, Alvin explained how the 39-year-old healthy, woman died within four days of receiving a Covid vaccine.

“This woman here is my sister’s son’s ex-wife. She took the shot on Oct 13 and by Oct 17 she was dead,” he told the Gateway Pundit. “She took the shot. Why? Because she wants to travel. So, she comes home. She sleeps all day Friday — all day sleeping.

“Saturday she gets up and she’s stumbling around. She is going, ‘I need to go to the hospital, I need to go to the hospital.’ Her boyfriend said, ‘Nah. whatever.’ That afternoon they had to rush her in by ambulance. By Sunday morning, she was dead — 39-years-old.”

Protests continue across Canada in support of Freedom Convoy

Citizens and also the premiers in a number of provinces disagree with the federal government using the Emergencies Act against the Freedom Convoy protesters.

On the weekend leading up to the Emergencies Act (EA) vote that took place on Monday night in Parliament, Canadians from all over the country took to the streets to protest COVID policies and in support of the Freedom Convoy movement.

The EA was supported by the House of Commons, and will be in place – unless there is a new development – until 30 days have passed from February 14.

Gruesome scenes took place in Ottawa last weekend, including an elderly indigenous woman being trampled by a police horse and a female journalist being tear-gassed and shot in the leg with a riot gun.

These events took place in conjunction with the arrests of multiple convoy organizers and supporters.

Despite the events in Ottawa, protests in support of the freedom movement in Canada took place in various provinces and cities.

Also, Premiers are now taking the feds to court or considering doing so in light of the EA.

Quebec City was home to a smaller convoy and a protest that had fireworks and live music.

Not to be outdone, Winnipeg has a protest of its own that doesn’t look like it is slowing down. The organizers are now demanding to meet the prime minister in the same fashion that Ottawa protesters did.

Premier Heather Stefanson said that she does not want the EA to apply to her province, even though her own province experienced protests at the border.

The streets of Calgary, Alberta were also filled with tens of thousands over the weekend protesting government overreach.

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney has no intention of quashing the protests with emergency powers and has even decided to take the federal government to court as a way of pushing back against what he sees as government overreach.

On Vancouver Island, protesters lined the streets of the provincial capital in Victoria, British Columbia. Residents of the city honked in support and were greeted with loud affirmation.

Toronto saw the streets flooded with demonstrators who walked in huge numbers waving Canadian flags, despite Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s support of the federal government’s EA.

In Saskatchewan, Premier Scott Moe is considering legal action against the federal government like his Albertan neighbor.

As things heat up in Ottawa, with the EA now being debated in the Senate, it looks like Canada is showing no signs of declining activity against Trudeau and his policies.

The Saskatchewan farmer is considering a move out of the country after the government's actions against him.

A Canadian farmer from Saskatchewan says his bank accounts were frozen because of a $500 donation he gave to the trucker Freedom Convoy’s GiveSendGo page. The incident now has him thinking about “moving away out of Canada.”

According to a Western Standard report today, the farmer, who chose to keep his name under wraps for fear of more reprisals from authorities, had donated to the Freedom Convoy’s GiveSendGo page after the group’s original GoFundMe page was canceled on February 4.

He said days after donating, both his personal and business bank accounts were “frozen.”

The farmer said, as reported by the Western Standard, that he had noticed what he called “red flags” after his bank told him some transfers he had requested were being held up.

“All of a sudden everything was frozen,” the farmer said.

“I couldn’t do an e-transfers, I couldn’t pay bills online.”

Even after speaking with his local branch, the farmer said the bank told him nothing, as it’s “all dictated from Toronto.”

The farmer said he had to resort to relying on friends to help him pay bills via their bank accounts.

Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) veteran James Topp has begun a gruelling march from Vancouver to Ottawa in support of Freedom Convoy protestors against Wuhan coronavirus restrictions and mandates.

Topp began his journey from Vancouver on Sunday and is looking to walk a distance of 4,395 kilometres/2,731 miles across a large portion of Canada to reach Ottawa and is joined by a small group of others.

A 28-year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, Topp released a mission statement on his website “Canada Marches” saying, “We rise to serve Canadians with honesty, respect and compassion, for the purpose of reuniting our people. We do this, with the intention of ensuring our government upholds the laws that support Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms.”

According to a report from broadcaster CBC, Warrant Officer Topp was under investigation by the Canadian Armed Forces over his planned march. Several others have also allegedly been placed under investigation including two active-duty members of the elite counter-terrorism force JTF2.

With the parliament now formally invoking the Emergencies Act, many civil freedoms can be suspended in the name of dealing with our current emergency, whatever that may be.

The right to peaceful assembly and association has been suspended as gatherings are banned in certain areas. Property rights are being suspended as supporters of the Freedom Convoy are having their bank accounts seized and vehicles impounded. Rights pertaining to the security of the person have been suspended as police can force labour from people, such as tow truck drivers, upon threat of imprisonment.

As if the suspension of all the aforementioned rights wasn’t enough, in listening to Prime Minister Trudeau, it sounds like his government may want to infringe upon our rights even further under the dubious justification of quelling a protest crisis in Ottawa.

The Trudeau government may go after our rights to free speech, expression, and press.

During a press conference just prior to the parliamentary vote on the Emergencies Act, Trudeau expressed at length the reasons he felt invoking the Act was justified. Trudeau mentioned what he called “misinformation and disinformation” multiple times during the presser. Two of the most visible and vocal organizers behind the “Freedom Convoy” protests remain in an Ottawa jail as Tamara Lich was denied bail Tuesday and Pat King will wait until Friday to learn whether a judge will grant his request to return to Alberta under bail conditions.

Ontario Court Justice Julie Bourgeois said she believed there was a substantial likelihood Lich would re-offend if released.

“I cannot be reassured that if I release you into the community that you will not re-offend,” Bourgeois said. “Your detention is necessary for the protection and safety of the public.”

Following the hearing, Lich’s Ottawa-based defence lawyer, Diane Magas, said she was preparing a bail review application after her client was denied her freedom and hoped the application could be heard as soon as next week.

The judge cited the “immense” impact the convoy and the ensuing occupation had on the community and said she believed Lich was “obstinate” and “disingenuous” in her responses to the court during her bail hearing on Saturday.

Lich appeared in court via a video link Tuesday, while King appeared in person in a neighbouring courtroom, where his lawyer presented a bail plan that includes a $50,000 bond from an Alberta woman who acknowledged she had only known King for four weeks.

Kerry Komix, the proposed surety, also travelled to Ottawa to support the demonstration.

Assistant Crown Attorney Moiz Karimjee, who led the prosecution in both bail hearings, questioned the woman’s ability to act as a reliable surety and suggested she shared the same ideology as King.

Ontario Securities Commission reports two crypto CEOs to RCMP

The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) has reported a number of cryptocurrency exchange executives to police for speaking out against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s unprecedented use of the Emergencies Act to quash protests.

Both Kraken CEO Jesse Powell and Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong were flagged to the police by the OSC.

Powell spoke out after Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland announced on Feb. 14 that the Trudeau government would seize the assets of convoy protesters and that crowdfunding platforms were now subject to government terrorist financing rules.

“Crowdfunding platforms now regulated under the Canadian Terrorist Financing Act. Do you see where this is going? Please do not fund causes directly from custodial wallets. I’m sure freeze orders are coming. Withdraw to non-custodial before sending,” tweeted Powell the same day.

Powell also donated one bitcoin to the crypto fundraiser HonkHonk Hodl to support the protests prior to the Trudeau government declaring them illegal.

Meanwhile Armstrong said that it was concerning to see the government take such measurest.

“Concerning to see stuff like this happening in any country, especially such an economically free place like Canada. Self-custodial wallets are important!” tweeted Armstrong on Feb. 15. Continue...
