Update(1314ET): A fresh White House statement has backed the Poland and NATO assessment that the Tuesday Polish border explosion was "most likely the result of a Ukrainian air defense missile that unfortunately landed in Poland."

The statement by National Security Council Spokesperson Adrienne Watson additionally said the US has "full confidence" in the Polish government's ongoing investigation. "We have seen nothing that contradicts President Duda’s preliminary assessment that this explosion was most likely the result of a Ukrainian air defense missile that unfortunately landed in Poland," she said.

But like NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg's prior remarks, she still blamed Russia for the episode:

More trouble is brewing in the $24 trillion Treasury market: This time, it’s about central clearing

Efforts to reduce risks within the nearly $24 trillion U.S. Treasury market, the world’s deepest and most liquid securities market, are ironically creating angst among market players.

The anxiety is centered on the concept of central clearing, a method used to reduce and manage risks in financial markets. In September, the Securities and Exchange Commission proposed rules that would mandate the central clearing of a large swath of Treasury transactions. Only a small percentage of such transactions have centrally cleared in recent years. The biggest concern about central clearing is the cost of participating in it, according to a panel discussion at the 2022 U.S. Treasury Market Conference held at the New York Fed on Wednesday. Though panel participants generally agreed that the efforts would help to improve the Treasury market’s resiliency, they said that some players might not be able to absorb the additional costs and that it’s not clear how well the central-clearing system would work during periods of turmoil. “The cost of transacting in the Treasury market is going to go up and, as dealers, we are concerned about that,” said Kavi Gupta, co-head of global rates trading and counterparty portfolio management for BofA Securities. Though larger players may adapt, smaller ones may not and the topic is “something our clients actively talk about.” Concerns about liquidity in the Treasury market have been brewing for months, particularly as the Federal Reserve’s quantitative tightening process kicked into high gear. In October, BofA Securities warned that the “fragile” market was at risk of “large scale forced selling” or a surprise that might lead to a breakdown. And earlier this month, the Fed confirmed fears about low liquidity in what has historically been one of the financial system’s most stable corners. Earlier on Wednesday, New York Fed President John Williams told conference participants that the Treasury market’s liquidity problems have the potential to interfere with the central bank’s ability to transmit monetary policy to the economy. Meanwhile, Nellie Liang, undersecretary for domestic finance at the Treasury Department, said that the UST market needs to be monitored for vulnerabilities, given the risks of a potential shock.

The inversion was being driven by a steep drop in the 10-year yield which fell 11 basis points to below 3.7% in New York afternoon trading. The 2y/10y spread is regard as one of the bond market's most reliable gauges of an approaching U.S. recession, and a deeply negative inversion signals that the recession could be severe. Scathing audit finds Andrew Cuomo’s New York lost $11 billion in unemployment fraud in 2020

New York let fraudsters make off with at least $11 billion in taxpayer cash as jobless claims soared during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic — aided by loosened eligibility rules and an already crumbling state unemployment system, Comptroller Tom DiNapoli charged Tuesday.

The $11 billion was lost in 2020, under then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo, to outright fraud and overpayments, according to DiNapoli’s audit of the mess. But he warned that despite the stunning theft in the the first year of the pandemic and lockdowns, billions more in fraud is likely to be uncovered.

“There was a good intent to get as much money out the door — but the problem was that it made the system even more susceptible to fraud, particularly with regard to identity theft,” the comptroller said.

It hardly helped that the feds made changes to unemployment eligibility rules in March 2020 allowing people to self-certify their employment info amid record-high spikes in applications, according to the scathing audit.

“For example, the CARES Act allowed claimants under these temporary programs to self-certify their eligibility and wages and required states to make immediate eligibility determinations,” the audit says about legislation signed into law by then-President Donald Trump as COVID slammed New York in March 2020.

Brazil’s left-wing President-elect, Lula Da Silva co-founded the secretive Foro de Sao Paulo, a communist political conference tied to drug trafficking and terrorism. His partner in the venture, which was established to help guide communism in a post-Soviet world, was Cuban tyrant and mass murderer Fidel Castro.

Foro de Sao Paulo, known as “Foro” for short, was “Co-Founded” by Lula and Castro in 1990. In addition to its close ties to left-wing tyrants and mass-murdering dictators, the Foro is linked to narcotics trafficking on an industrial scale.

A problem that’s long plagued Central and South America, drug trafficking has often persisted with the aid of those at the top of the global political power structure.

Foro’s irrefutable and watertight narco-trafficking links are exposed in numerous news stories and reports published abroad.

The same stories show the close ties between the Foro, Lula Da Silva, and FARC; the drug-trafficking communist terror group running its militant campaign out of the Colombian jungle.

In addition to FARC, the Foro is tied to Paraguay’s FARC-backed “EPP“ which has alleged, proximal links to Soros Real Estate and Soros’ “regional partners“.

Even the “esteemed” Mi6-linked, and increasingly Orwellian British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), has described the links between the Foro and genocidal narco-traffickers in its Portuguese language publication.

Foro de Sao Paulo: Home to Mass-Murdering Dictators, Ally of the CCP

For decades, Lula has described the deep, emotional bond that he held with the late Cuban dictator and mass-murdering communist Fidel Castro, with whom he co-founded the Foro.

At the pair’s Foro, the Brazilian communist has gathered with the likes of Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro and Hugo Chavez, Argentina’s Kristina Kirchner, Bolivia’s Evo Morales, and the rest of the Castro clan, to plot out the advancement of their left-wing agenda.

Lula has also used his international posturing to form close relations with Middle Eastern sponsors of terrorism, like Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Even a communist Catholic Bishop who promotes a “liberation theology” and is on record defending pedophilia is among the Foro’s cohort.

Academics and defense officials have described the Foro as an existential threat to the Western World.
