In her current unspecified role, the White House visitor logs clearly portray that Lang regularly holds private meetings with top foreign policy and national security elites. Of the 308 meetings she has personally hosted as of February 2022 (the last publicly available tranche of meetings), some of her visitors have included William Burns, director of the Central Intelligence Agency; Colin Kahl, U.S. undersecretary of defense for policy; and Philip Etienne, French ambassador to the United States.
Lang has also met with numerous prominent political scientists and experts specializing in geopolitical risk, nuclear threats, terrorism, and economic sanctions.
Donilon and Lang have been in close contact since at least 2010, when Donilon was national security adviser to the Obama administration, during which he ran the National Security Council to which Lang has been linked. According to a variety of emails obtained from WikiLeaks, Lang was closely apprised of Donilon’s whereabouts, often directly communicating with him in addition to powerful government officials such as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and current National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.
As for the recent White House meetings between Donilon and Lang, there are no publicly available records about their purpose, nor have there been public statements made by the Biden administration, BlackRock, or Donilon. Though we have requested further information from BlackRock and the White House, we have yet to receive a response from any of the relevant parties.
These meetings raise serious ethical concerns, especially in light of the stated mission of Donilon’s BlackRock Investment Institute. According to its website, BII “leverages the firm’s expertise and generates proprietary research to provide insights on the global economy, markets, geopolitics and long-term asset allocation – all to help our clients and portfolio managers navigate financial markets.”
In other words, it’s Donilon’s fiduciary responsibility to read the geopolitical tealeaves in order to help BlackRock clients earn a better return on their investments. Such a job would be substantially easier if one had access to regular meetings with officials closely plugged into foreign policy and security decision-making, a benefit Donilon has clearly attained.
The fact that an important figure at BlackRock held numerous closed-door meetings at the White House throughout 2021 is disconcerting enough, but Donilon’s connections to the Biden administration run much deeper than monthly meetings with policymakers.
Not only did Donilon work alongside Biden in the Obama administration as national security adviser, he was also reportedly on Biden’s shortlist to become CIA director. His brother, Mike Donilon, is the senior adviser to the president and one of Biden’s closest confidantes. Mike served as Biden’s chief strategist throughout the 2020 presidential campaign.
Thomas Donilon’s wife, Cathy Russell, was the head of the powerful White House personnel office during Biden’s first year in office, though she left the administration to become executive director of UNICEF on Feb. 1, 2022. As the director of the Presidential Personnel Office, Russell was vested with the important task of hiring and vetting administration employees.
Coincidentally, Thomas Donilon’s daughter, Sarah, also works in the Biden administration, as a staffer for the National Security Council.
BlackRock’s connections with the Biden administration do not end with the Donilon family. Brian Deese, Biden’s director of the National Economic Council, was formerly global head of sustainable investing at BlackRock. Wally Adeyemo, deputy secretary of the Treasury Department, previously worked as a senior adviser at BlackRock and served as chief of staff to BlackRock Chairman and CEO Larry Fink.
Fink also has had at least one unpublicized meeting at the White House in the Biden era. On Feb. 8, 2022, just two weeks before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Fink met with Steve Ricchetti, counselor to the president and a man dubbed “Biden’s sherpa” by Politico. Again, there are no media reports or acknowledgment of this meeting occurring.
Why are members of the Biden administration meeting frequently with key figures at BlackRock? Have the close relationships between BlackRock executives and the White House impacted public policy? Has BlackRock profited financially from these important relationships? Has BlackRock worked with the White House to influence policy towards Russia, or used information gleaned from White House sources to divest themselves from riskier holdings?

URGENT: Scheme By Pfizer And Moderna Aims To Skip Clinical Trials for Future COVID Vaccines
Pfizer and Moderna, as enabled by the FDA, have come up with a scheme. The scheme is called "The Future Framework," and the idea is to skip clinical trials in perpetuity.
In five days, on Tuesday, June 28, the FDA will vote on a proposal, and the proposal says that reformulated COVID-19 shots are "biologically similar" to existing COVID-19 shots, and so, therefore, they can skip clinical trials altogether.
Dr. Toby Rogers: "Going forward, as of June 29, if this goes through, we will have no data at all. We will have a little bit of information from test-tube studies, a little bit of information from mice studies, but we will have no human data whatsoever. This is a nightmare!"

They won't ever admit the cause of death. A thought occurred to me. After testing the clot shot on millions of people, have they perfected the ingredients so that the shot will only kill after 3 to 5 years (which was likely the original intent)? Those kids under 5 that just got approved for the shot won't be dying right away. They will die slowly enough that the deaths will be difficult to trace back to the shot.

In Taiwan, the war in Ukraine remains a constant theme on television sets across the country. No sooner had it begun in February than it animated concerns about the specter of an invasion by neighboring China.
Visceral images broadcast daily from Ukraine have helped many Taiwanese visualize the brutal realities of modern warfare. It turned a once abstract fear into a realistic possibility, and Ukraine's ongoing resistance into an opportunity to address their own readiness.
In the past four months, some of island's residents have rushed to sign up for first aid lessons and weapons training courses, privately run civil defense groups tell Newsweek. It's reflective of the public's sense of urgency, and they want the government to take notice.
Taiwan is China's foremost territorial claim; at one time or another, successive leaders in Beijing have articulated a desire to eventually exert political control over the island, which is today a democracy of 23.5 million people. It was only last week that a Chinese general vowed to "fight to the very end" if Taipei were to move away from semi-recognition under its Republic of China government in pursuit of de jure independence.
Observers don't agree on whether a Chinese Communist Party helmed by Xi Jinping is likely to move militarily against Taiwan in the near future. What's not in doubt is Beijing's development of capabilities to do so in the coming decades.
Given Taiwan's much smaller armed forces relative to those of the Chinese military across the Taiwan Strait, defense planners in Taipei and their counterparts in Washington have debated the most suitable military doctrine for the island's defense. They reached a further consensus on asymmetric warfare in 2021, Taiwan's Defense Ministry said in May.
The concept aims to disrupt the rhythm of the enemy's advance and prevent a fait accompli, the ministry said. It involves the use of high-end, mobile and survivable weapons systems—to include American-made Javelin and Stinger missiles—that strategists see as having proved highly effective in Ukraine's resistance against Russian forces.

WikiLeaks founder was subjected to ‘especially cruel’ treatment after extradition to US was approved in UK, Stella Moris has said
Julian Assange was strip-searched and moved to a bare cell on the very day the UK Home Secretary Priti Patel approved his extradition to the US, the WikiLeaks founder’s wife, Stella Moris, told journalists on Thursday. The 50-year-old remained there for a weekend as prison guards searched his own cell, she added.
“Prison is a constant humiliation but what happened on Friday felt especially cruel,” Moris, who married Assange in March, has said, adding that the guards had told their inmate that it had all been done “for his own protection.”
According to Moris, the guards were looking for any things that could be used by a person to take their own life. In the bare cell where Assange was placed, the guards checked his status every hour until he was allowed to return to his cell on Tuesday.
The WikiLeaks founder currently remains in the maximum security Belmarsh Prison in south-eastern London, having been placed there in April 2019 as the UK was deciding on his extradition to the US. On June 17, Patel approved his transfer to US custody.
A British court had initially refused the extradition request on the grounds that Assange may otherwise kill himself, or that he’d be subjected to inhumane treatment in US detention. But Washington successfully appealed the ruling, offering the UK assurances that the Australian’s rights would be observed.
“The fact he is imprisoned while this outrageous extradition proceeds is a grave injustice in itself. He needs to deal with all that, while preparing for a complex appeal to the High Court,” Moris said. Assange still has a right to appeal the decision within 14 days of June 17.
“This kind of thing never becomes more tolerable. Any person would find it degrading. The mental strain on Julian is enormous as it is, having to process what is essentially a death sentence,” Moris said, adding that extradition to the US would “drive him to take his own life.”
It is not some “regular discussion about mental health,” she has insisted, adding that “we are talking about driving a person to take their own life.”
Moris, who has two children with Assange, has vowed to “use every available avenue” and “every waking hour fighting for Julian until he is free.” John Rees, a leading member of the campaign aimed at making the authorities free Assange has also branded Patel’s ruling “illegal” and said the WikiLeaks founder’s supporters “need to redouble our efforts to stop the extradition.”
The UK Home Office said last week that the British courts “have not found that it would be oppressive, unjust or an abuse of process to extradite Mr. Assange,” adding that they also believed his rights would be observed.
Assange has been a target for the US since 2010, when WikiLeaks published a trove of State Department cables and Pentagon documents that depicted alleged war crimes committed by US forces in Afghanistan and Iraq. He has since been accused of attempting to hack Pentagon computers and is charged under America's Espionage Act, over WikiLeaks’ publication of classified materials. If extradited to the US, he might face up to 175 years behind bars.
