Missouri and Tennessee Residents Charged with Distribution of Child Pornography as Part of Operation Kick Boxer
Acting United States Attorney Richard G. Frohling of the Eastern District of Wisconsin announced that on May 18, 2021, a federal grand jury handed down an indictment alleging that Joshua A. Gama (age: 35) of Bridgeton, Missouri, distributed child pornography in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252A(a)(2)(A).
Later that morning, the same grand jury handed down a separate indictment alleging that David J. Dexter (age: 43) of Lebanon, Tennessee, also distributed child pornography in violation of federal law.
Gama is charged with two counts of distributing child pornography. Dexter is charged with a single count of distribution. Each count carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and up to 20 years of incarceration in federal prison upon conviction.
Each man’s indictment is a direct result of Operation Kick Boxer, a collaborative effort involving the Milwaukee Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, and the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office https://go.usa.gov/xHzJp.
Both Gama and Dexter utilized a popular internet messaging platform to access chat rooms in which they each are alleged to have distributed child pornography. Each man was investigated separately and there is no known connection between the two.
These cases were investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Milwaukee, Green Bay, Memphis, Nashville, and St. Louis Offices, as well as the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office. They will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Daniel R. Humble.
An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. Each defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the government must prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

I have just learned, through leaks in the mainstream media, that after being under investigation from the time I came down the escalator 5 ½ years ago, including the fake Russia Russia Russia Hoax, the 2 year, $48M, No Collusion Mueller Witch Hunt, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, and others, that the Democrat New York Attorney General has “informed” my organization that their “investigation” is no longer just a civil matter but also potentially a “criminal” investigation working with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. There is nothing more corrupt than an investigation that is in desperate search of a crime. But, make no mistake, that is exactly what is happening here. The Attorney General of New York literally campaigned on prosecuting Donald Trump even before she knew anything about me. She said that if elected, she would use her office to look into “every aspect” of my real estate dealings. She swore that she would “definitely sue” me. She boasted on video that she would be, and I quote, “a real pain in the ass.” She declared, “just wait until I’m in the Attorney General’s office,” and, ”I’ve got my eyes on Trump Tower.” She also promised that, if elected, she would “join with law enforcement and other Attorney Generals across this nation in removing this President from office,” and, “It’s important that everyone understand that the days of Donald Trump are coming to an end.” The Attorney General made each of these statements, not after having had an opportunity to actually look at the facts, but BEFORE she was even elected, BEFORE she had seen even a shred of evidence. This is something that happens in failed third world countries, not the United States. If you can run for a prosecutor’s office pledging to take out your enemies, and be elected to that job by partisan voters who wish to enact political retribution, then we are no longer a free constitutional democracy. Likewise, the District Attorney’s office has been going after me for years based on a lying, discredited low life, who was not listened to or given credibility by other prosecutorial offices, and sentenced to 3 years in prison for lying and other events unrelated to me. These investigations have also been going on for years with members and associates of the Trump Organization being viciously attacked, harassed, and threatened, in order to say anything bad about the 45th President of the United States. This would include having to make up false stories. Numerous documents, all prepared by large and prestigious law and accounting firms, have been examined, and many hours of testimony have been taken from many people, some of whom I have not seen in years.

A puppy given to the Queen while Prince Philip was in hospital has reportedly died.
The apparent death at the weekend of dorgi puppy, Fergus, who was aged around five months old, is said to have left the Queen "devastated" and comes just weeks after her husband died.
Fergus was given to the Queen along with another dorgi called Muick after the Duke of Edinburgh, who died aged 99 last month, fell ill in February.
According to The Sun, the Queen took the dorgi pups, which are a cross between a corgi and a dachshund, for daily walks in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

Individual Charged in Connection With 2001 Terrorist Attack in Jerusalem That Resulted in Death of Americans
WASHINGTON – A criminal complaint was unsealed today charging Ahlam Aref Ahmad Al-Tamimi, also known as “Khalti” and “Halati,” a Jordanian national in her mid-30s, with conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction against U.S. nationals outside the U.S., resulting in death. The charge is related to the defendant’s participation in an Aug. 9, 2001, suicide bomb attack at a pizza restaurant in Jerusalem that killed 15 people, including two U.S. nationals. Four other U.S. nationals were among the approximately 122 others injured in the attack. Also unsealed today was a warrant for Al-Tamimi’s arrest and an affidavit in support of the criminal complaint and arrest warrant. The criminal charge had been under seal since July 15, 2013.
Acting Assistant Attorney General for National Security Mary B. McCord, U.S. Attorney Channing D. Phillips for the District of Columbia and Assistant Director in Charge Andrew Vale of the FBI’s Washington Field Office made the announcement.
“Al-Tamimi is an unrepentant terrorist who admitted to her role in a deadly terrorist bombing that injured and killed numerous innocent victims. Two Americans were killed and four injured. The charges unsealed today serve as a reminder that when terrorists target Americans anywhere in the world, we will never forget – and we will continue to seek to ensure that they are held accountable,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General McCord. “I want to thank the many dedicated agents and prosecutors who have worked on this investigation.”
“We have never forgotten the American and non-American victims of this awful terrorist attack,” said U.S. Attorney Phillips. “We will continue to remain vigilant until Ahlam Aref Ahmad Al-Tamimi is brought to justice.”
“Al-Tamimi is a terrorist who participated in an attack that killed United States citizens,” said Assistant Director in Charge Vale. “The bombing that she planned and assisted in carrying out on innocent people, including children, furthered the mission of a designated terrorist organization. The FBI continues to work with our international partners to combat terrorists like Al-Tamimi and hold them accountable.”
According to the affidavit in support of the criminal complaint and arrest warrant, Al- Tamimi was living in the West Bank in the summer of 2001, while attending school and working as a journalist for a television station. Al-Tamimi agreed that summer to carry out attacks on behalf of the military wing of Hamas (the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades), a Palestinian organization designated by the U.S. as a terrorist organization.
The affidavit states that on Aug. 9, 2001, Al-Tamimi met with the suicide bomber in Ramallah, in the West Bank, and traveled with the suicide bomber by car to Jerusalem. The suicide bomber was in possession of an explosive device concealed within a guitar. Al-Tamimi led the suicide bomber to a crowded area in downtown Jerusalem and instructed the suicide bomber to detonate the explosive device in the area, or somewhere nearby if an opportunity arose to cause more casualties. According to the affidavit, the suicide bomber entered a Sbarro pizza restaurant and detonated the explosive device, causing extensive damage, bodily injury, and death. Seven of the dead were children, including one U.S. national.
The affidavit states that Al-Tamimi pleaded guilty in an Israeli court in 2003 to multiple counts of murder arising from the Sbarro suicide bomb attack and was sentenced to 16 life terms of incarceration. The defendant served only eight years of the sentence before being released on or about Oct. 28, 2011, as part of a prisoner exchange between the government of Israel and Hamas.
Al-Tamimi was returned to Jordan upon her release from incarceration. Jordan’s courts, however, have ruled that their constitution forbids the extradition of Jordanian nationals. The U.S. has worked and will continue to work with its foreign partners to obtain custody of Al- Tamimi so she can be held accountable for her role in the terrorist bombing. The FBI also announced today that Al-Tamimi has been placed on its list of Most Wanted Terrorists.

Researchers in the United States have developed a new method for controlling the brain circuits associated with complex animal behaviours, using genetic engineering to create a magnetised protein that activates specific groups of nerve cells from a distance.
Several earlier studies have shown that nerve cell proteins which are activated by heat and mechanical pressure can be genetically engineered so that they become sensitive to radio waves and magnetic fields, by attaching them to an iron-storing protein called ferritin, or to inorganic paramagnetic particles.
When they introduced this genetic construct into human embryonic kidney cells growing in Petri dishes, the cells synthesized the ‘Magneto’ protein and inserted it into their membrane.
Next, the researchers inserted the Magneto DNA sequence into the genome of a virus, together with the gene encoding green fluorescent protein, and regulatory DNA sequences that cause the construct to be expressed only in specified types of neurons. They then injected the virus into the brains of mice, targeting the entorhinal cortex, and dissected the animals’ brains to identify the cells that emitted green fluorescence. Using microelectrodes, they then showed that applying a magnetic field to the brain slices activated Magneto so that the cells produce nervous impulses.

As I recently wrote in a teshuvah (rabbinic response) that was unanimously approved by the Conservative movement’s Committee on Jewish Law and Standards, vaccination is a Jewish imperative when recommended by medical professionals. Even when vaccines are approved by an emergency process, as the COVID-19 vaccines have been, they meet the halakhic standards of a refuah b’dukah, an established treatment…
Our movement’s religious opinion on these matters stipulates best practices for this time.
Taking preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19 by wearing masks, washing hands and physical distancing are to be regarded as mitzvot and mandated by Jewish law. Vaccines approved by government health agencies are to be regarded as refuot b’dukot, established medical procedures, and with proper medical guidance Jews are obligated to be vaccinated. Jewish institutions are permitted by Jewish law to require employees, students and congregants to be vaccinated against COVID-19, though secular legal counsel should be consulted.
On a more collective level, we are obligated to ensure the ethical distribution of vaccines globally and nationally. We should favor the most vulnerable, and we should maximize the social benefit by prioritizing first responders and those who can set an example by receiving the vaccine that will encourage others to be vaccinated. Jewish ethics prohibit us from using personal connections, wealth or influence to receive the vaccine sooner than triage criteria would indicate. Effectively, “jumping in line” is prohibited.
We have made it through an awful period of plague, but we might be able to soon turn the corner thanks to vaccination. Let us do our part as members of the Jewish community, Americans and citizens of the world.

Quapaw Man Convicted of Sexually Abusing a Native American Minor and Illegally Possessing Parts of Protected Eagles
A man who portrayed himself as a Native American spiritual counselor was convicted Tuesday by a federal jury of sexually abusing a Native American minor and illegally possessing feathers, talons and heads from seven bald eagles and seven golden eagles, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson.
The jury found Carl Gene Ortner Jr., 57, of Quapaw, guilty of transportation with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, sexual abuse of a child in Indian Country, abusive sexual contact in Indian Country, possession of parts of a bald eagle, and possession of parts of a golden eagle. U.S. District Judge John F. Heil III presided over the trial and set sentencing for Sept. 30, 2021.
“Carl Ortner is not a Native American spiritual counselor, as he led his community to believe. A jury this week saw Ortner for what he was – a predator who targeted a vulnerable young victim, using her Native American heritage and grief to sexually abuse her,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson. “During this trial, two other victims came forward and stated that Ortner also abused them. All three of these young women are to be commended for their bravery and for stopping this defendant from harming others.”
“No matter what type of crime wildlife is connected to, we will work tirelessly with our law enforcement partners for justice,” said Phillip Land, Special Agent in Charge of the Southwest Region for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Office of Law Enforcement. “These guilty verdicts send a strong message that these types of crime will not be tolerated, and we thank the U.S Attorney’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, and the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with this case.”
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Shannon Cozzoni and Ryan Roberts argued that Ortner fraudulently claimed to be a Native American spiritual counselor. Assistant U.S. Attorney Cozzoni pointed out the defendant portrayed himself as an Indian, yet he had no tribal affiliation. He told several people he was a member of several Tribes, but no Tribe claimed him.
A special agent with the Fish and Wildlife Service testified that investigators discovered feathers and various parts of bald and golden eagles, including heads, talons, and entire wings, at Ortner’s residence. Native Americans consider eagles to be sacred and use the parts in cultural and religious practices. Ortner illegally possessed the feathers and parts.
Further evidence was presented showing that the defendant used his position of influence to groom the victim and force her into sexual relations with him, using her cultural beliefs and vulnerability against her. The victim also had been struggling with losing a loved one, and Ortner used the loss to further groom the victim.
In 2016, Ortner began sexually abusing the minor. While some of the abuse allegedly occurred within state jurisdiction, Ortner, who is not a tribal citizen, also abused the victim on Indian land, which falls within federal jurisdiction. Furthermore, Ortner at one point drove the victim to Joplin, Missouri, to engage in criminal sexual activity with the minor victim. Crossing state lines to engage in illegal activity falls within federal jurisdiction.
Witnesses testified that Ortner threatened to embarrass the victim and the tribe unless she said the sexual assault did not happen. Also testifying for the government were two other women who stated that Ortner also groomed them as minors and sexually abused them.
In the Government’s closing, Assistant U.S. Attorney Roberts reminded the jury that all three women, who did not know one another, had made similar statements in court. They were vulnerable minors when the sexual abuse occurred. Several had experienced recent deaths of loved ones, which Ortner exploited. Ortner would also buy them lingerie and use the same term to describe the undergarments. Roberts called Ortner a wolf in sheep’s clothing, stating that he disguised himself as a caring Native American elder to get close to the victims. Then when the time was right, Ortner attacked.
The jury took less than two hours to deliberate before coming back with guilty verdicts on all five counts.
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Office of Law Enforcement, Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, FBI, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Ryan Roberts and Shannon Cozzoni prosecuted the case.

President Trump issued a lengthy statement Wednesday blasting New York state Attorney General Letitia James (D) after James’ office informed the media she is targeting the Trump Organization with a criminal investigation. Trump also criticized Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, Jr. (D), who is also investigation Trump.
CNN was first to report the news of the criminal targeting of the Trump Organization, “NEW: NY AG’s office tells CNN —“We have informed the Trump Organization that our investigation into the organization is no longer purely civil in nature. We are now actively investigating the Trump Organization in a criminal capacity, along with the Manhattan DA.”

…the attorney general’s office is working with the Manhattan district attorney’s office, whose wide-sweeping probe into the Trump Organization has looked into whether the company misled lenders and insurance companies about the value of properties and whether it paid the appropriate taxes. Donald Trump, Jr. posted a video compilation of James making campaign statements on her desire to get Trump, “There is nothing more corrupt than an investigation in desperate search of a crime. Top EU Negotiator "Quite Sure" Iran Nuclear Deal Will Be Reached Next Week
At the end of the latest round of talks (the fourth) in Vienna on Wednesday a top European Union envoy has said that the reviving of the Iran nuclear deal is now "shaping up". Enrique Mora, the EU's top negotiator for the Vienna nuclear talks, says he's "quite sure" a deal will be reached at a moment the text is being drafted, and as talks adjourn for a week.
Documents outlining both Iran's compliance and the United States' return to the JCPOA nuclear deal are now said to be "mostly drafted" - according to Iranian statements, with the exception of "complicated differences". A "final round" of talks are now set for next week, with the Iranian side hoping for a deal to be reached prior to the Iranian presidential election in June, after which Hassan Rouhani will step down due to term limits.
The Islamic Republic's chief negotiator, Abbas Araghchi, assessed on Wednesday that "I think good headway has been made with the talks over the past two weeks. A few key issues have remained, and they need further consideration, and decisions should be made about those issues in the capitals."
This next week is being described essentially as a period where negotiators will go back to their respective capitals to prep for the final definitive meetings. Remaining "red lines" are expected to be decided on.
The Guardian summarizes the three main remaining issues expected to be resolved by any agreement reached as follows:
the precise sanctions the US is prepared to lift;
the time Iran is allowed to reverse its steps away from the deal;
…and how to handle the knowledge Iran has acquired in the many months in which it has not been in full compliance with the deal, including its enrichment of uranium to 60% purity.

However, despite a flurry of positive statements out of Vienna on Wednesday it remains that other Western diplomats are more circumspect, with a Wall Street Journal correspondent citing one official who emphasized that "success is not guaranteed" given "there are still some very difficult issues ahead. A professor with close ties to the Communist Chinese Government has declared that his country ‘defeated’ the U.S. in 2020, winning a biological war, and putting America ‘back in it’s place’.
The comments were made by Chen Ping, a Senior Researcher at The China Institute of Fudan University, a CCP affiliated think tank, and a professor at Peking University.
The video, which appeared online recently, was translated by New York-based Chinese blogger Jennifer Zeng:
Zeng writes that the researcher claims “the Western model has failed, the 500-year maritime civilization is doomed, the CCP has won and ‘will lead the way of the modernization in the new era after the biology revolution’ after the 2020 CCPVirus (COVID19) pandemic.”
Ping states in the video that “In 2020, China won the trade war, science and technology war, and especially the biological war.”
“The achievement is unprecedented. This is an epoch-making historical record,” he continues, adding “So for the liberal, America-worshiping cult within China, their worship of the U.S. is actually unfounded.”
“After this trade war and biological warfare, the U.S. was beaten back to its original shape,” Ping emphasised.
Ping also commented on the 2020 U.S. election, noting “I think Trump’s attempt to restore the declining international status of the U.S. during his 4 years has failed. This failure is not only the failure of Trump’s personal campaign for re-election as president, but also the failure of the neo-liberalism-led globalization of the past four decades led by the U.S. and the UK.”
“Therefore, the development and modernization model of the U.S. and Europe is not worthy of China’s imitation and repetition,” Ping added.
China’s economy has expanded by 18.3% in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the same period last year, marking the biggest increase since China started keeping quarterly records in 1992.
The country has undoubtedly been able to rebound quickly by getting ahead of the pandemic in late 2019, stalling and obscuring the facts of what was unfolding while a criminally compliant World Health Organisation parroted CCP talking points to the rest of the world.

Ah, yes, another important "woke" step toward wiping out racism in the country: judging people by the color of their skin.
In which the Mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot, most recently known for watching droves of her citizens flee the city during the chaos that broke out (and was emboldened by her office) in 2020, now is being accused of only granting interviews to people of color, according to Fox.
That's the allegation that reporters in Chicago are making, with NBC 5 Chicago political reporter Mary Ann Ahern expressing discontent on Twitter about her inability to get an interview with the mayor. She wrote: "As @chicagosmayor reaches her two year midway point as mayor, her spokeswoman says Lightfoot is granting 1 on 1 interviews - only to Black or Brown journalists."

Ahern's allegations were supported by another reporter, TTW Chicago Tonight anchor and correspondent Paris Schutz, who said; "I was told the same thing."
A third reporter echoed the allegations, when Chicago politics reporter Heather Cherone tweeted: "I can confirm".
Despite this, Lightfoot still made an appearance on MSNBC with Stephanie Ruhle on Monday. Perhaps her closely held beliefs only apply to when she's not offered a chance to go on national television.
Lightfoot faced a backlash on social media, facing obvious allegations of racism for - well, being racist - and allegedly picking people to work with based on the color of their skin.
During her Mensa-session with Ruhle on MSNBC, Lightfoot took the time to encourage her citizens to continue wearing masks despite new CDC guidance that says they're not mandatory for people who are vaccinated: "I know for me personally, I’m going to continue to wear a mask in public and I’m going to encourage others to do so. We’ve got to make sure that people are continuing to follow the public health guidance that has gotten us this far, and masks, I think, are a big and important part of that."

The British authorities won’t allow anti-Semitism to ‘grow and fester’ in the country, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson vowed, amid a spike in attacks on Jews, following the outbreak of hostilities in Gaza.
More than 100 anti-Semitic incidents have been recorded in Britain since May 8, when protests took place in Jerusalem in response to the proposed evictions of Palestinians in East Jerusalem and the incursion of the Israeli security forces into the compound of the Al-Aqsa mosque, the third-most important religious site in Islam. These incidents brought to a head the tensions between Israel and the militant group Hamas, which controls Gaza, and provoked the ongoing deadly cross-border exchange.
The data coming from the Community Security Trust (CST), which consults with the UK’s estimated 280,000 Jews on security issues, reveals a fivefold increase in such incidents since the current Israeli-Palestinian flare-up.
On Sunday, a rabbi in Chigwell, Essex, was hospitalised with concussion after being attacked in the street. The police arrested two men on suspicion of religiously aggravated assault.
The same day, a convoy of cars draped in Palestinian flags was filmed driving around the predominantly Jewish neighbourhood of Finchley broadcasting anti-Semitic slogans.
In addition, Jewish leaders have been receiving messages with threats, and anti-Semitic graffiti has been daubed on synagogues, CST said.
As Johnson appeared before Parliament on Wednesday, the leader of the opposition Labour Party, Keir Starmer, questioned him on the government’s response to the “appalling rise in anti-Semitic attacks” in Britain.
“I share his horror at the outbreak of anti-Semitic incidents,” the prime minister responded, assuring that his government had “conveyed that message loud and clear to those who are responsible for enforcing the law against hate crime.”
“As a country and as a society … we call this out at every stage. We will not let it take root, we will not allow it to grow and fester,” Johnson insisted.
During more than a week of violence, Hamas has fired over 3,000 rockets towards Israeli territory, the Israel Defense Forces said. Those attacks have killed at least 12 people in Israel and left more than 50 injured, according to media reports, citing police and health officials.
The death toll as the result of Israel’s retaliatory strikes on densely populated Gaza is thus far 219, including more than 60 children, the territory’s Health Ministry said. Despite international calls for a ceasefire, Israel said on Wednesday that it was not setting any timeframe for an end to the fighting. “We’re not standing with a stopwatch. We are taking care of the operation’s objectives,” Israeli PM Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pointed out.

Studies find California child hospitalizations from COVID-19 were 'grossly inflated' by at least 40% — findings 'likely' to be the same across US
The reported number of children hospitalized with COVID-19 in California was "grossly inflated," potentially leading policymakers and parents to believe kids were at higher risk from the virus than they actually are, according to two new studies.
"Hospital Pediatrics," a journal of medicine for pediatric care, published two research papers Wednesday that found child hospitalizations for COVID-19 were over-counted by at least 40% in the state, and researchers believe it's likely national numbers were similarly inflated. New York magazine reported commentary from Dr. Monica Gandhi, an infectious disease specialist at the University of California, San Francisco, and her colleague Amy Beck, an associate professor of pediatrics, that explained the studies' findings.
"Taken together, these studies underscore the importance of clearly distinguishing between children hospitalized with SARS-CoV-2 found on universal testing versus those hospitalized for COVID-19 disease," they wrote. The reported hospitalization rates "greatly overestimate the true burden of COVID-19 disease in children." In an interview, Gandhi told New York magazine "there is no reason to think these findings would be exclusive to California. This sort of retrospective chart review will likely reveal the same findings across the country."
New York magazine summarized the key findings from the two studies:
In one study, conducted at a children's hospital in Northern California, among the 117 pediatric SARS-CoV2-positive patients hospitalized between May 10, 2020, and February 10, 2021, the authors concluded that 53 of them (or 45 percent) "were unlikely to be caused by SARS-CoV-2." The reasons for hospital admission for these "unlikely" patients included surgeries, cancer treatment, a psychiatric episode, urologic issues, and various infections such as cellulitis, among other diagnoses. The study also found that 46 (or 39.3 percent) of patients coded as SARS-CoV2 positive were asymptomatic. In other words, despite patients' testing positive for the virus as part of the hospital's universal screening, COVID-19 symptoms were absent, therefore it was not the reason for the hospitalization. Any instance where the link between a positive SARS-CoV2 test and cause of admission was uncertain the authors erred toward giving a "likely" categorization.
In the second study, at the fifth-largest children's hospital in the country, out of 146 records listing patients as positive for SARS-CoV-2 from May 1, 2020, to September 30, 2020, the authors classified 58 (40 percent) as having "incidental" diagnosis, meaning there was no documentation of COVID-19 symptoms prior to hospitalization. Like the first study, and as has been typical around the nation, this hospital implemented universal testing of inpatients for SARS-CoV-2. An example of incidentally SARS-CoV-2-positive patients are those who came to the hospital because of fractures. Patients who may have had COVID-19 symptoms but who had a clearly documented alternative reason for them, such as a child with abdominal pain and fever found to be related to an abdominal abscess, were also deemed to have incidental diagnosis. The study categorized 68 patients, or 47 percent, as "potentially symptomatic," which was defined as when "COVID-19 was not the primary reason for admission for these patients, and COVID-19 alone did not directly require hospitalization without the concomitant condition." Examples of these patients were those with acute appendicitis, since that condition includes gastrointestinal symptoms that may also present in COVID-19.
There are two important implications of these findings. The first is that policies that disproportionally affect children, like school closures or the cancellation of youth sports or summer camps, were implemented after reports greatly overstated the risk of children being hospitalized from COVID-19.

“That ’70s Show” star Danny Masterson posted a smiling selfie to social media Tuesday, moments before entering an LA courthouse for a hearing on rape charges.
The image showed the 45-year-old and his actress wife, Bijou Phillips, in an inexplicably cheery mood as they sat in the front of a car outside the government building.
Masterson, who is accused of raping three women, even cracked a joke in the text next to the image.
“Had the most beautiful Uber driver drop me off at school today. #uberwife#bijouphillips,” he captioned the selfie. He also geotagged “Court House.”
The preliminary hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court was scheduled to determine if there was enough probable cause to order a trial against the actor.
Despite Masterson’s jokey mood outside the courtroom, things got serious once the proceedings began.
One of his accusers took the stand and tearfully claimed that one night, 18 years ago, she woke up to find Masterson raping her.
“When I came to, he was on top of me,” said the woman, who was only identified as Jen B. “The first thing I recall is grabbing his hair to pull him off.”
A self-described second-generation Scientologist, the woman testified that she and Masterson, 45, were part of the same social circle who were linked to the Church of Scientology in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
She claimed he gave her a vodka cocktail at her request, and she found herself “blurry,” weak and queasy 20 minutes later.
She also said she recalled that she tried to get Masterson off her by pulling his hair, then put a pillow in his face, but he pushed it back on her. She also said he grabbed a gun from his nightstand drawer to threaten her.
During cross-examination, Masterson’s attorney, Thomas Mesereau, challenged her on inconsistencies between her 2004 police report and one that she filled out for the Church of Scientology the year prior as they tried to mediate the situation.
She acknowledged that there were differences in her accounts but insisted they were truthful in each report.
Masterson, who had pleaded not guilty, has denied the charges, and his attorney said at a previous hearing that he “is absolutely not guilty and we’re going to prove it.”
The hearing is expected to continue Wednesday.

In the United States, around 600,000 children aged 12 to 15 have been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Tuesday, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said in a media call that the figures come after the COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer-BioNtech became the first to be cleared for that age group in the United States earlier this month.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had declared on May 10 that the Pfizer vaccine is safe and offers strong protection for younger teens, based on testing of more than 2,000 U.S. volunteers aged 12 to 15. Two days later, the CDC officially recommended the shot for the age group.
President Joe Biden has asked states to make the vaccine available to younger adolescents immediately. Most states began issuing shots to children last Thursday but some, including Georgia, started sooner.
“Now it’s time to get your shot. We have the vaccine. We’ve secured enough supply to vaccinate all adults and children above the age of 12. I repeat: Now is the time to get your vaccine shot,” the president said on May 17 in an update on the federal vaccination program.
The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine has been available under an emergency use authorization to people as young as 16 in the United States since December.
The CDC acknowledges that fewer children have been infected with the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus compared to adults. The agency notes, however, that children can still be infected and get stick from the CCP virus, as well as spread it to others.
As of May 15, its website issued a message recommending “everyone 12 years and older” to be vaccinated “to help protect against COVID-19,” characterizing widespread vaccination as a “critical tool to help stop the pandemic.”
“Getting your child or teen vaccinated can bring you one step closer to enjoying the activities you miss. Children 12 years and older are able to get the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine,” the CDC message reads.
Vaccine manufacturers are immune from liability for any adverse reactions unless there is “willful misconduct” involved. Vaccine providers are required to report any serious adverse effects or vaccination administration errors to VAERS, hosted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The federal government has a Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program that can pay compensation to eligible persons who suffer serious injury from approved vaccines. But the burden of proof has proven a challenging process.

The United Kingdom has started ripping out technology from Huawei – a Chinese Communist Party-linked telecommunications firm – from its 5G networks.
The government is launching a seven-year and $700 million task of removing the company’s products, starting in the city of Hull. The country’s biggest network, BT Group Plc, will replace the technology with components from Nokia Oyj.
“We were quite keen to pick one city area and do the whole of that, and make sure that we can really check that we’re not having an adverse impact on customer service,” BT Chief Technology Officer Howard Watson noted. “The signs are really good for that so far.” The process will have to be repeated on 12,000 of BT’s 18,000 mobile masts, rooftops, and other sites.
Bloomberg attributes the move to a “U.S.-led campaign against the Chinese company,” executed forcefully by the Trump administration.
Huawei has extensive links to both the Chinese Communist Party and the People’s Liberation Army, prompting the U.S. State Department to identify it as an “arms of the state – or, more precisely, the Chinese Communist Party.” Labeled a “national security threat” by the Trump administration and a decades-long Chinese military collaborator by the U.S. Department of Defense, Huawei routinely provides the Chinese Communist Party backdoor access to its products, networks, and devices.

Dr. Anthony Fauci this week said Americans are “misinterpreting” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) guidance on masks, stating it is “not” equivalent to the removal of mask mandates.
“I think people are misinterpreting, thinking that this is a removal of a mask mandate for everyone. It’s not,” Fauci said during an Axios virtual event.
Rather, Fauci described the CDC guidance as “an assurance to those who are vaccinated that they can feel safe, be they outdoors or indoors.”
“It’s not their fault,” Fauci continued. “People either read them quickly, or listen and hear half of it. They are feeling that we’re saying: ‘You don’t need the mask anymore.’ That’s not what the CDC said.”
“They said: If you are vaccinated, you can feel safe — that you will not get infected either outdoors or indoors,” he continued. “It did not explicitly say that unvaccinated people should abandon their masks.”
Fauci’s remarks follow his defense of businesses opting to keep sweeping mask mandates in place, because, according to the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director, such entities are unable to confirm who is vaccinated and who is not, presenting a “problem.”
“The problem and the issue is that we don’t have any way of knowing who is vaccinated and who’s not vaccinated,” Fauci said during an appearance on Good Morning America.
“I think that’s where the confusion arises because there are some establishments who are saying, ‘Well, I’m going to have people coming into my establishment or my store or what have you. Some are going to be vaccinated, some are not. I’m not going to know the difference,’” he continued.
“Some might be infected and might actually have a risk of infecting someone else,” Fauci added. “And under those circumstances, it’s perfectly reasonable and understandable for the owner of that establishment to say, ‘You know, we’re going to keep the mask mandate up.’ And that’s what we’re seeing”:
Last week’s CDC guidance states that fully vaccinated people can “resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.”
Major retailers — including Target, Starbucks, and Walmart — have since lifted their hardline mask mandates, allowing vaccinated customers to forgo wearing a face covering. However, the companies are not asking for proof of vaccination, leading to Fauci’s apparent concerns.
Meanwhile, some state leaders have continued taking action to roll back coronavirus-related restrictions. On Tuesday, for example, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) signed an executive order barring localities from enforcing mask mandates.
“Texans, not government, should decide their best health practices, which is why masks will not be mandated by public school districts or government entities,” Abbott said in a statement.
“We can continue to mitigate COVID-19 while defending Texans’ liberty to choose whether or not they mask up,” he added.

President Joe Biden praised Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) as “honorable” during a Tuesday trip to Michigan amid a scandal involving her use of a private jet on a secret trip to Florida.
“You’ve got a backbone like a ramrod,” Biden said of Whitmer at Ford Motor Company’s Dearborn electric vehicle plant, Deadline Detroit reported.
“You’ve got a brain as big as anybody in the business. And you’re so honorable,” he continued about the scandalized governor.
“It’s a delight to know you. As I’ve said to you before, I’ll come campaign for you or against you, whatever will help you the most,” Biden said.
Whitmer faces re-election in 2022, should she choose to run again.
A recent poll indicated she may encounter challenges as her attempts to explain away a secret trip aboard a private jet to visit her father in Florida have dragged on for over a month.
Progress Michigan, a far-left advocacy group, asked 820 Michigan voters May 5-6, 2020 about Whitmer’s job performance and 49 percent said they approved, six percent said they “somewhat” disapproved, and 43 percent “strongly” disapproved.
Another survey found 46 percent of respondents said Whitmer deserved to be re-elected, while 41 percent said she did not.
In a hypothetical matchup with Detroit Police Chief James Craig, 48 percent of respondents said they would vote for Whitmer, while 42 percent indicated they would back the challenger. Craig is retiring June 1 and there is speculation he will mount a campaign as a Republican against the incumbent.
Whitmer has been fumbling questions for weeks about the details of her secret trip to Florida.
Whitmer’s original story was that her trip was strictly “personal” to visit her ailing father, who owns a property in West Palm Beach.
“I’ve said everything I am going to say about my trip to go check on my father,” Whitmer told a 9&10 News journalist when questions persisted. “It was a quick trip. It was an important family reason for doing it. And I have nothing to add.”
“I showed up when I was needed. I did a lot of cooking, a lot of cleaning,” Whitmer said last week.
“When you’re the governor of Michigan, you’re always on the clock, but it does not mean that you’re not also a daughter who shows up when a family member needs her,” she said.
But late Friday, Whitmer’s office claimed her 501(c)(4) organization paid for the flight, which would require an organization-related activity to do so.
Whitmer repeatedly claimed the trip was strictly personal business, which would not allow her to use nonprofit funds for that activity, Michigan Rising Action said after the news broke.
“501(c)(4) groups are social welfare organizations and are not allowed to pay for personal expenses for officials,” the group — itself a 501(c)(4) group — said in a news release.
If Whitmer had a legal justification for using the nonprofit funds for the trip, it would indicate she did other things in Florida besides tend to her father’s alleged needs. The trip occurred in March, the original story broke in April, and the 501(c)(4) acknowledged it as an expense in May.

Broadway composer Andrew Lloyd Webber has said that those who decline vaccines are “selfish” and similar to people who decide to drive drunk and kill others.
“I do think it’s selfish, because, I mean, look at it this way, I mean, you could just say, I would like to go out and have a drink tonight and drive home, and accidentally I kill somebody,” said the 73-year-old, best known for his work on musicals including Cats and Jesus Christ Superstar, in an interview with the BBC.
“Now, I mean, it seems to me that nobody’s going to go out and deliberately infect anybody with Covid, but it’s completely wrong if we know the science. I was on the Oxford vaccine trial last year for this reason.
“We know that the vaccines are very effective and we know that they are really, broadly speaking, unbelievably safe,” he claimed.
His BBC interlocutor put it to him that he was making a “very stark comparison” between deadly drunk drivers and people who would prefer not to be vaccinated, but Webber was unmoved: “Well, I don’t know. I think you could argue it’s your choice. I feel very strongly now that there are really now people who have got to realise that by not having the vaccine they’re affecting an enormous number of people’s jobs and livelihoods,” he suggested.

Telegraph writer Philip Johnston, however, noted that, until 1907, British parents “who refused to have their children immunised [against smallpox] without good reason were fined”, and that compulsory vaccination is not unheard of in what it is generally thought of as “the free world”:

Nevertheless, Johnston went on to say that while, in his view, the “anger” of people like Webber who want to see restrictions lifted is “understandable”, it should be “directed at ministers and the [Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE)] modellers urging them to take disproportionate and unjustified decisions to extend the lockdown even in the face of a waning pandemic” rather than the unvaccinated.

Turkish Hackers Accused of Cyber Attack on Cyprus Parliament
Cyprus has said that Turkish hackers attacked its parliament’s website last month.
The Cypriot Digital Security Authority investigated the cyber attack, which took place on April 5th, and found that the source came from internet protocol (IP) addresses linked to a Turkish hacker group.
A government statement went on to add that “thanks to the timely response to the incident there has been no negative result, and that additional security measures have subsequently been taken as a precaution”, Greek newspaper Proto Thema reports.
The cyberattack comes as attempts by the Turkish government, led by Islamist president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has largely failed in pushing for a two-state solution to the separation of Turkish-occupied northern Cyprus and the Greek-speaking Republic of Cyprus, which holds sway in the island’s south.
While the Greek-speaking south has rejected the idea of a two-state solution, Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar has continued to back the proposal. Currently, only the Turkish government recognises Northern Cyprus, which was established after a Turkish invasion in 1974.
Last week, during informal United Nations talks on the Cyprus issue attended by the leaders of both halves of Cyprus, Northern Cyprus foreign minister Tahsin Ertugruloglu labelled the talks a breakthrough for Turkish Cypriots.
“It is our sovereignty that we defend, it is the equal status of our state. ‘The Cyprus issue is a status issue,’ we have repeatedly stressed,” he said.
Issues in Cyprus come as tensions between Greece and Turkey, whose foreign ministers also attended the Geneva talks, remain high after months of agitation on issues such as maritime sovereignty and mass migration.
Greek Cyprus has also been affected by mass migration in recent months, with the government reaching out to the European Union to help deal with an influx of migrants.
Some estimate that the number of asylum seekers in the country is equal to four per cent of its overall population.

Former Acting Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan and two former top DHS officials are calling for Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ job. The joint statement was issued by Morgan, former Acting ICE Director Tom Homan, and Ken Cuccinelli, former Acting Deputy Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
Morgan further told Breitbart Texas, “The final straw for me was the Secretary’s testimony in front of Congress last week … Rather than be honest with the American people and take ownership of the crisis they created at our southern border, he continued the spin, misdirection, and blatant lies being pushed by the Biden Administration.”
The statement and request for Mayorkas to be dismissed comes as DHS struggles to deal with the highest influx of migrants in more than 20 years. According to Customs and Border Protection, more than 178,000 apprehensions occurred in April alone. There are more than 20,000 unaccompanied migrant children in custody of the federal government according to the Department of Health and Human Services.
Morgan told Breitbart Texas, “He sounded more like a politician than the Secretary responsible for protecting our homeland security.”
The formal joint statement reads:

Instead, he has presided over a reckless abandonment of enforcing America’s immigration laws and securing our borders. Mayorkas has shown that he is the wrong person to lead the Department of Homeland Security. Rather than providing the support and tools his agencies need to execute their fundamental missions, he has created an unmitigated crisis where both immigration enforcement and border security are almost non-existent. Border apprehension numbers are at a historic high, while deportations are at an all-time low. In defiance of existing federal law, ICE agents have been ordered not to arrest known public safety threats, as well as ignore a federal judge’s order to deport criminals, after receiving due process at great taxpayer expense. The number of migrant children in federal custody is through the roof. Criminal cartels and human traffickers are proliferating and profiting at unimaginable levels. Not only is this not securing the homeland, it’s a complete abandonment of the brave men and women we once had the privilege to lead.
Enough is enough. The nation needs a Secretary of Homeland Security who will actually secure the homeland and fix – not facilitate – the border crisis. Someone who will enforce the law, not reward or ignore lawbreakers. We’re running out of time, Mr. President. The American people are watching.

The CDC updated their 'guidance' many weeks ago stating that children were allowed to be within 3' of eachother, and Cuomo himself has stated repeatedly throughout the last year that schools were 'the safest place to be' in regards to infection rate etc.
