Trump to blame for riot, Murkowski says

Murkowski said that while “there may have been many, many, many, many good Americans who came to Washington, D.C., because they felt strongly in support of this president,” Trump incited them to storm the Capitol after a speech near the Washington Monument.

Even before Election Day, the president refused to say whether he would accept the election results, Murkowski said, and then tried to overturn the results.

“I will attribute it to the president, who said, even after his vice president told him that morning, ‘I do not have the constitutional authority to do what you have asked me to do. I cannot do it. I have to protect and uphold the Constitution.’ Even after the vice president told President Trump that, he still told his supporters to fight. How are they supposed to take that? It’s an order from the president. And so that’s what they did. They came up and they fought and people were harmed, and injured and died,” Murkowski said.

Yesterday, Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) implored Americans to not fall for the mainstream media’s bait and rush to judgment about the events that transpired yesterday in D.C. He also warned that Antifa would be posing as Trump supporters as part of an “orchestrated Capitol attack.”

100 Percent Fed Up – Before the mob entered the Capitol building, a large crowd of Trump supporters was captured on camera, as they booed the radical dressed all in black who can be seen breaking the windows. They demanded that he stop. “NO Antifa!” can be heard shouted by a woman in the crowd, as she shouted a warning, “Antifa’s breaking the windows!” Some of the Trump supporters in the video became physical with the radicals who refused to stop breaking the windows.

Who were these people, all dressed in black that were breaking the Capitol windows as Trump supporters demanded they stop? Does the mainstream media have any curiosity at all about what really happened that day, or is it enough that President Trump is blamed for it and that the voter fraud issues in several states have all disappeared?

In a tweet, journalist Paul Sperry reported intel he received from a former FBI agent on the ground at the Capitol who told him that a busload of Antifa thugs had been dropped off at the rally.

The video below Sperry’s tweet, shared by “Sage + Honey,” could be very useful to anyone who truly cares about what happened in the Capitol building that day.

We have broken down the incredible video that looks more like a bad B-movie into 8 segments:

In the video, a VERY GOOD videographer is coming down the stairs of the Capitol building.

#1. The camera zooms in on a police baton lying on the ground in the lobby.

#2. The camera then moves to a single police officer who is standing in a doorway. Standing in front of the police officer is a male dressed in a black t-shirt, black pants, and a black hat. His t-shirt has some sort of message or logo, but it’s unclear what it says. One thing is clear; he is not wearing any Trump gear. The male who appears to be leading a group of protesters attempting to infiltrate the Capitol building is either the most lethargic patriot to ever exist, or he’s simply a very bad actor. He’s not at all aggressive like one would expect from someone who just broke into the Capitol building determined to save America from a group of anti-American lawmakers hell-bent on stealing the election from President Trump. Nope, not this guy; he’s very relaxed and, at most, does a lot of shaking his head as the cop tells him to “stand back!”

#3. The police officer is shouting at the group from the doorway, and then suddenly, like in an awful movie, he realizes his baton is on the floor and reaches over to pick it up from the ground. Of course, by this time, it’s too late; the lethargic patriot and his posse have entered the lobby. Instead of calling for backup, the police officer decided to run up the stairs.

NY State Assembly Bill A416: COVID Concentration Camps Coming To America?

Six months ago amid the panic and the hype surrounding the coronavirus outbreak the New Zealand government made an announcement that went mostly unnoticed by the mainstream media. It was a policy decision that the whole western world should have been up in arms about, but at the time the public was still processing the pandemic chaos. New Zealand was instituting what amounted to covid prisons – Medical “quarantine facilities” where ANY citizen suspected of being a covid carrier could be detained without due process for as long as the government saw fit.

Not only that, but these covid camps would fall under the jurisdiction of the military. In other words, the NZ covid response was quietly being shifted into martial law.

The hyper-totalitarian measures were implemented in the face of a mere 22 covid deaths for the entire nation at that time. The media has been applauding the NZ response in recent weeks, arguing that heavy handed policies today will mean more freedom and a better economy tomorrow when infection numbers have been reduced. However, as I have been warning since the beginning of the pandemic, the lockdowns are designed to last forever.

We might be allowed “partial reopenings” and brief moments of relief, but covid mandates have nothing to do with public health and everything to do with public submission. The virus is nothing more than a useful crisis to be exploited as a rationale for tyranny.

Currently, New Zealand is facing further travel restrictions due to the discovery of a “covid mutation” in the UK. The government has indicated that any sign of renewed infection will be met with hard lockdowns once again. Citizens that think they have crossed the precipice and are on the verge of freedom are being conned.

Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is suing the federal government for $250k over his treatment at a super-maximum security prison in Colorado, according to the Boston Herald.

In a handwritten letter, Tsarnaev alleges prison guards at the Federal Correctional Complex Florence - called the "Alcatraz of the Rockies" - have discriminated against him.

Monday, January 11, 2021.

There is good cause for an extension here. Ms. Maxwell is considering whether to submit

a third bail application to the Court, which would propose even more stringent and restrictive bail

conditions than those proposed in the renewed bail application. The requested extension will give

Ms. Maxwell the opportunity to research whether and to what extent these additional conditions

are legally and practicably available, without forfeiting as untimely a possible appeal from the

Court’s December 28 Order denying the renewed bail application. The additional time is also

warranted because it will enable the defense to continue its review of recently produced

documents and to file our pretrial motions (each of which may bear on the merits of a possible

third bail application); to research whether an appeal of the December 28 Order might deprive this

Court of jurisdiction to address a third bail application; and because of logistical challenges posed

by the continued effects of the pandemic.

FBI releases 10 more photos of suspected Capitol rioters

The FBI has launched a nationwide manhunt for 10 more suspects captured on camera storming the U.S. Capitol building during the deadly riots in the nation’s capital on Tuesday.

A new wanted poster from the feds shows close-ups of the 10 rioters during the siege that left five dead — a Capitol police officer and four demonstrators.

The FBI is asking for the public’s help to identify the 10 men.

The wanted poster is the latest batch of suspect images to be released by authorities.

Jordan Fuchs illegally recorded the conversation while visiting her grandparents in Florida, National File has been informed.

Georgia Deputy Secretary of State Jordan Fuchs, who has been described as the true source of power in Brad Raffensperger’s office, broke Florida’s two-party consent law when she illegally recorded President Donald Trump’s conversation with Raffensperger, a highly placed source now confirms.

As National File previously reported, Atlanta Tea Party President Debbie Dooley first confirmed Jordan Fuchs leaked the audio, and Georgia GOP Chair David Shafer confirmed to National File that the leak originated in Raffensperger’s office.

Now, National File has confirmed that Fuchs confirmed she leaked the audio to an elected Republican in Georgia who is beyond reproach, and that person relayed this information to National File’s source, a highly placed individual in Georgia with direct knowledge of the Secretary of State’s office.

Additionally, National File has confirmed that Fuchs recorded this audio while in the Orlando area of Florida. While most of the United States have a one-party consent law, meaning only one party in a private conversation needs to give permission for the conversation to be recorded, Florida has a two-party consent law.

In other words, for Fuchs to have legally recorded and released the audio of the call between Raffensperger and President Trump, she would have first had to obtain permission from the President and all other parties on the call.

On her Twitter account, Fuchs uploaded a photo of her Delta flight leaving Georgia for Florida to visit her grandparents in Orlando on Friday, January 1. The call occurred on Saturday, January 2, when she was still in Florida. She did return until January 3.

Fuchs has since deleted the photographic evidence of her trip to Florida.

“The fact is she has confirmed to other people as well that she was in Florida from January 1st through the 3rd,” our source explained. “Her grandparents live in the Orlando area, and she recorded that call from that location.”

Criminal investigators now have the contact information for the individual Fuchs confessed to, and plan to speak to him in the near future, if they have not already, National File has learned.

Interestingly, while Raffensperger has denied having prior knowledge of the leak to The Washington Post, and claims that he did not authorize it, he has yet to publicly comment on Fuchs’ alleged lawbreaking or request her resignation.

“She should resign,” our source explained. “Raffensperger should make her resign, he has given her control of the office.”

Potentially complicating Raffensperger’s claim of innocence is a conspicuous tweet he published on January 3, the day before the leaked audio was published by the Post. In the tweet, Raffensperger warned President Trump that “the truth will come out.”

Our source explains that Fuchs, who prior to attaining this position had no managerial experience and had only worked as a political consultant, now fears she will be fingered for committing a crime.

“Fuchs feels like she’s under attack,” the source explained. “She’s gone into a ‘political consulting’ role instead of being a good civil servant, her [Twitter] feed is now self preservation.”

Biden’s reiteration of earlier calls for unity came two days after Trump supporters, protesting the formal move by a joint session of Congress to certify Biden’s 306-232 Electoral College victory over the president, stormed the Capitol. Five people – including a Capitol Hill police officer – died during the rioting. The attack forced the building into lockdown, and the House and Senate were suspended for six hours until the building was cleared of intruders.

The president – at a rally near the White House that he headlined earlier on Wednesday – had encouraged supporters to march to the Capitol and show strength in opposing the certification of an election that he had repeatedly charged that he had won in a landslide and that had been stolen.

Scores of congressional Democrats, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, as well as some Republicans, have called for removing Trump from office either by impeachment or by the vice president and cabinet officers invoking the 25th Amendment.

"I’m focused on the virus, the vaccine, and economic growth. What the Congress decides to do is for them to decide," Biden answered when asked if he supported such moves.

"We’re going to do our job and the Congress can decide how to proceed with theirs," he added. "That’s a decision for the Congress to make. I’m focused on my job."

Biden added that he would be speaking with Pelosi and House Democratic leadership later on Friday.

But the president-elect stressed, "I’ve been saying for now for well over a year that he’s not fit to serve." He called Trump "one of the most incompetent presidents in the history of the United States of America."

He emphasized that "it’s important to get on with the business of getting him out of office." But Biden said "the quickest way that that will happen is us being sworn in on the 20th. What action happens before or after that is a judgment for the Congress to make."

Biden added: "If we were six months out, we should be doing everything to get him out of office, impeaching him again. Trying to invoke the 25th Amendment. Whatever it took to get him out of office. But I am focused now on us taking control as president and vice president on the 20th and getting our agenda moving as quickly as we can."

Air Force Demotes Former General as IG Report Reveals Details of Illicit Affair

The former general in charge of U.S. Air Force Warfare Center removed from command due to an alleged unprofessional relationship was demoted to colonel following an investigation into his behavior, according to an Air Force Inspector General report released Friday.

Maj. Gen Peter Gersten, head of the Warfare Center at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, retired as a colonel effective Jan. 1, spokeswoman Ann Stefanek told Military.com.

Gersten, she said, received what's known as an Article 15, the highest form of nonjudicial punishment.

Before an officer retires, he or she receives a Grade Determination Review Board which determines the "highest grade in which a [service member] served satisfactorily," according to the Defense Department.

"As a result of this investigation, [the board] determined he could retire at the grade of colonel," Stefanek said in a phone call.

According to the redacted report, provided to Military.com, an investigation was launched following a complaint against Gersten alleging the former general had engaged in an adulterous relationship, a violation under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

The Air Force did not disclose the complainant, or the individual Gersten was alleged to have the relationship with. The Air Force only identified the woman as a subordinate member on his personal staff, with whom he had sexual intercourse between July 2018 until he was relieved of command in June 2019.

Gersten, an F-16 Fighting Falcon pilot, took command of the center in July 2017. A command pilot with more than 2,800 total flying hours, Gersten has flown over Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and Bosnia. He has also flown the MQ-1 Predator, MQ-9 Reaper and RQ-170 Sentinel drones and the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, according to his official biography.

The complainant additionally alleged Gersten "had a reputation for engaging in inappropriate personal relationships with multiple women for the past ten years," a violation which falls under the UCMJ's prohibition on "Conduct unbecoming an officer and gentleman."

The complaint was first made to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, then transferred to Air Force Inspector General Lt. Gen Sami Said for action. Witness interviews began in June 2019, the report says.

Gersten declined to be interviewed for the investigation.

Around Nellis, Gersten's marriage was known to be "a touchy subject," according to one witness interviewed for the report. The service interviewed 24 witnesses; none were publicly identified.

Big tech has launched an unprecedented and coordinated cyber attack on President Donald Trump and his 74,000 voters.

As this was happening — the GOP was dead silent.

On Friday, Twitter permanently banned hundreds, if not thousands, of Trump supporters and prominent allies — before banning the president himself. Nearly every account that helped to promote the Stop the Steal rallies or challenge the election results were banned, including Ali Alexander, Michael Coudrey, Gen. Mike Flynn, Sidney Powell, and Lin Wood. Countless smaller accounts that supported the president were also getting suspended in a seemingly constant rate.

The same has been happening over on Facebook and Instagram.

At the same time, Parler was warned by both the Apple and Google stores that if they did not impose moderation on their free speech platform within 24 hours they would be banned entirely.

“We have received numerous complaints regarding objectionable content in your Parler service, accusations that the Parler app was used to plan, coordinate, and facilitate the illegal activities” at the US Capitol on 6 January, Apple wrote in an email to Parler executives. “The app also appears to continue to be used to plan and facilitate yet further illegal and dangerous activities.”

These same companies showed absolutely no concern when Black Lives Matter domestic terrorists were plotting their next attacks on their platforms, often with the endorsement of Democrat politicians.

Parler Chief Executive John Matze responded to the threat by posting; “Apparently they believe Parler is responsible for ALL user generated content on Parler. By the same logic, Apple must be responsible for ALL actions taken by their phones. Every car bomb, every illegal cell phone conversation, every illegal crime committed on an iPhone, Apple must also be responsible for.”

By 7 p.m. EST, it was reported that President Trump had officially joined Parler. It is currently unclear if big tech pulled the trigger early, if the site crashed from the rush of new users hoping to hear from the president, or if it was something more sinister.

If the Parler app does get banned, you will still be able to access it from your computer.

The COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting downturn in the economy has unleashed a socio-economic bomb across many metro areas. Small and medium-sized companies have shuttered operations, the labor market continues to deteriorate, and violent crime is surging.

As a reminder of why people are fleeing metro areas in droves, CBS Miami released a security video of an intense shootout near Northwest 25th Avenue and 36th Street.

Miami Police said six people were injured in the incident when multiple shooters ambushed them.

The full video shows three people exiting a gray Dodge Charger approach the Honda, and then begin to unleash a hail of bullets.

“It’s a very chilling video,” Miami Police Officer Kenia Fallat.

“When the barrage of bullets took place, they just started running for their lives,” said Fallat.

Police tell CBS Miami they have no suspects nor a motive behind the shooting.

One of the shooters appears to fire a semi-automatic or even an automatic rifle judging by the large muzzle flashes - this type of urban warfare is generally found on the streets of a third world country - not the United States.

Racine appeared on “Good Morning America” on Friday morning to discuss ongoing law enforcement efforts to identify those rioters that stormed the Capitol earlier in the week. Racine mentioned that along with the rioters, others would be investigated for inciting the lawlessness.“I think the question is, how far up does it go? Clearly the Capitol was ground central in all of this mob’s behavior,” Racine said. “Donald Trump Jr., Rudy Giuliani, even the President of the United States, were calling on their supporters and hate groups to go to the Capitol and, in Rudy Giuliani’s words, ‘exercise combat justice.’”

“We’re going to investigate not only those mobsters, but also those who incited the violence,” he added.

Racine’s comments come after the Department of Justice did not rule out charging the president with a crime related to the riot.

“We are looking at all actors here,” Michael Sherwin, the U.S. attorney in Washington, said on Thursday. “Was there a command and control? Were there others that maybe assisted or facilitated or obviously played some ancillary role in this? Anyone that had a role, and the evidence fits the elements of a crime, they’re going to be charged.”

Rioters stormed through the Capitol on Wednesday to disrupt the certification of electors that would make official President-elect Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory. Trump spoke at a protest march earlier in the day, continuing to assert that the election had been stolen through widespread voter fraud, and he urged his supporters to walk to the Capitol and “fight” the certification.

After the riot began, Trump and his son Donald Jr. made repeated calls for peace and for the president’s supporters to respect law enforcement struggling to contain the chaos. The president also continued to maintain that the election was stolen and suggested that Biden would be an illegitimate president of the United States.

On Thursday, Trump released a video message acknowledging that Biden would be inaugurated President of the United States on Jan. 20 and promising a “smooth, orderly, and seamless transition of power.” Trump also slammed the rioters that broke into the Capitol and said that law enforcement would hold them accountable.

Denmark Charges Two for Masterminding Billion Dollar Tax Fraud

Two British citizens were indicted on Thursday over allegations that they swindled over a billion dollars from the Danish treasury in what was described as “cynical and carefully planned fraud,” according to a press release from the Public Prosecutor for Special Economic and International Crime (SØIK).

This scheme was observed on a larger scale in what is known as the cum-ex scandal, which – as revealed in a cross-border investigation that relied on undercover reporting, whistleblowers, and a leaked trove of 180,000 pages in documents – saw Europe’s financial elite extract over $60 billion from state coffers.

“It was a trade that was uncovered purely by chance, and at the end a group of masterminds turned it into an industrialized cottage industry,” said the news outlet Correctiv, which coordinated the investigation.

One of the two individuals reportedly charged by Danish prosecutors is Sanjay Shah, a flamboyant British financier residing in Dubai, who was profiled in an OCCRP investigation.

His spokesperson confirmed to the Financial Times that he had been indicted, adding that Mr. Shah, who is also being investigated by German, Norwegian, Belgian, U.K., and U.S. authorities, “continues to deny any wrongdoing and stresses that he took professional advice before carrying out the trades.”

He, along with another unnamed suspect, is accused of setting up the scheme through the use of 24 Malaysian companies and 224 American pension plans, along with more than 70 companies established in the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.

If found guilty, they could face imprisonment for eight years. SØIK, Denmark’s financial crimes prosecutor, added that due the seriousness of this case, the amount stolen, the duration of the crime, and its organized nature, the maximum sentence could also be increased to twelve years.

The authority says it has already recovered in excess of $357.8 million in connection with its investigation, which presumably includes a seizure of Shah’s £15m ($20.43m) London property reported in February of last year.

Per Fiig, SØIK’s acting public prosecutor, said that in cases like these it is “very difficult or almost impossible to get the money back.”

“It is our experience from the major cases of fraud and money laundering that the proceeds of fraud are often paid to organized criminal networks that distribute the money globally through ingenious systems,” he explained.

Fiig’s office remains determined to return as much money as they can to Denmark’s treasury, saying that despite charging the two main architects of the alleged tax fraud scheme, “there are still a number of other suspects.”

US Sentences Russian National Behind JPMorgan Hack to 12 Years

A federal court in New York has sentenced a Russian hacker to 144 months prison time for his role in one of the largest data theft cases in U.S. history.

(Source: Wikimedia Commons)Russian national Andrei Tyurin was convicted on charges of computer intrusion, wire fraud, bank fraud and illegal online gambling, partly relating to his role in a scheme to steal the personal data of more than 83 million customers at JP Morgan Chase, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a statement on Thursday.

“From his home in Moscow, Andrei Tyurin played a major role in orchestrating and facilitating an international hacking campaign that included one of the largest thefts of U.S. customer data from a single financial institution in history,” U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Audrey Strauss, said.

Prosecutors noted that Tyurin did not act alone, and that he had worked under the command of Gery Shalon, who also played a senior role in several other criminal schemes, including a securities fraud racket.

“The conspiracy targeted major financial institutions, brokerage firms, news agencies, and other companies, and netted Tyurin over US$19 million,” Strauss said, adding that the enterprise had earned Tyurin’s co-conspirators hundreds of millions more in criminal proceeds.

Amid this litany of criminal activities, conducted between 2007 and 2015, Tyurin also ran an extensive online gambling service and illegal payment processing system.

Though he worked from Moscow, Tyurin has been in federal custody since he was extradited to the U.S. from Georgia in 2018.

In addition to his 12 year prison sentence, the court also ordered that Tyurin would have to forfeit his illegally-acquired, multi-million dollar personal fortune.

Rep. Eric Swalwell Tries to Sic FBI on BlazeTV Journalist Elijah Schaffer for Covering Capitol Riot

It all started with a poorly researched hit piece in the Daily Beast. Then it escalated quickly. However, it appears the attacks on the opposition or investigative journalists that were prevalent in the Obama administration will resume under Joe Biden. Remember when the Associated Press was spied on and James Rosen was threatened — both by Eric Holder’s DOJ? Today, it is BlazeTV’s Elijah Schaffer.

In the Beast’s never-ending mission to smear Republicans and conservatives for sport, they pounced on a tweet from Schaffer during the riots at the Capitol on Wednesday. Schaffer had been in the thick of the protests and riots all summer, providing commentary and video footage. Numerous media outlets have used his footage. It was critical in reconstructing events around the shooting in Kenosha, Wisc., that involved Kyle Rittenhouse.

Schaffer has been so effective in painting the reality of some of the most violent protests that radical left-wing groups targeted him for violence. He was beaten while covering the riots in Philadelphia following the police-involved shooting of Walter Wallace. In other words, Schaffer is a credentialed photojournalist who goes into chaotic and dangerous situations to document them.

When he covered the riots at the Capitol on January 6, he followed participants when they breached the building. Reporters from Townhall and the Daily Caller did the same. In the melee, Schaffer ended up following protestors into the office of Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He took a picture of an open computer on the desk and posted it to Twitter, along with the update that rioters had entered the office.

During his podcast on January 8, BlazeTV founder Glenn Beck said Elijah was told to remove the post because they didn’t feel comfortable with the exposed computer screen. As requested, Elijah removed the post. But not before Molly Jong-Fast, editor-at-large for the Daily Beast, took a screenshot of it and reporter Max Tani decided to write an attack piece on the tweet deletion for the site. Clearly, he did not reach out to Schaffer for a comment:

TheBlaze host Elijah Schaffer posted a photo of a private staff computer screen, with his caption: “BREAKING: I am inside Nancy Pelosi’s office with the thousands of revolutionaries who have stormed the building. To put into perspective how quickly staff evacuated, emails are still on the screen along side a federal alert warning members of the current revolution.”

Schaffer later deleted the tweet, and tried to memoryhole his trespassing, claiming that he is merely a “full time reporter” and “am not personally involved in the events today in DC.” He added that his repeated use of words like “patriots” and “revolutionaries” to describe the MAGA mob was because the protesters used such descriptors for themselves.

So, Schaffer, a full-time reporter, posted an image to try and tell the story of the events. His employer asked him to remove it and he complied. However, if you read the Daily Beast post, you would think Schaffer organized the breach of the doors and was gleefully participating. Tani says The Blaze did not immediately respond to comment. My guess is he gave them about 30 seconds, and there is no update based on Beck’s explanation this morning. Because, of course, there wouldn’t be.

Based on the image alone, Representative Eric “Fang-Bang” Swalwell decided to add fuel to the fire and share it with the FBI. Trying to get federal law enforcement to pursue a journalist is a pretty rich irony since he was a co-sponsor of the Journalist Protection Act. Mind you, that was only because Orange Man Bad used to call CNN fake news and his supporters booed them at rallies. This was especially distressing to Jim “loves himself a mirror” Acosta.

The Republican from Alaska says she is also questioning whether to remain in the party

Alaska Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski has called for President Donald Trump to resign in the wake of Wednesday's breach of the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters, saying the mob that stormed the building was taking "an order from the president."

Murkowski—who has earned a reputation as a centrist willing to buck the party line—added that if Republicans remain the party of Trump, she may no longer be a good fit.

What are the details?

"I want him to resign. I want him out. He has caused enough damage," Murkowski told the Anchorage Daily News on Friday of Trump, who has less than two weeks remaining of his presidency.

"I think he should leave," she reiterated, saying, "he said he's not going to show up. He's not going to appear at the at the inauguration. He hasn't been focused on what is going on with COVID. He's either been golfing or he's been inside the Oval Office fuming and throwing every single person who has been loyal and faithful to him under the bus, starting with [Vice President Mike Pence]. He doesn't want to stay there. He only wants to stay there for the title. He only wants to stay there for his ego. He needs to get out. He needs to do the good thing, but I don't think he's capable of doing a good thing."

Murkowski went on to say that "there may have been many, many, many, many good Americans who came to Washington, D.C., because they felt strongly in support of this president," while she blames Trump for inciting that occurred at the Capitol following his speech at the rally that occurred beforehand.

"I will attribute it to the president, who said, even after his vice president told him that morning, 'I do not have the constitutional authority to do what you have asked me to do. I cannot do it. I have to protect and uphold the Constitution.' Even after the vice president told President Trump that, he still told his supporters to fight. How are they supposed to take that? It's an order from the president. And so that's why they did it. They came up and they fought and people were harmed, and injured and died."

The Anchorage Daily News asked Murkowski whether she might leave the Republican Party, to which she replied:

"Well, you know, there's a lot of people who actually thought that I did that in 2010, think that I became an independent. I didn't have any reason to leave my party in 2010. I was a Republican who ran a write-in campaign and I was successful. But I will tell you, if the Republican Party has become nothing more than the party of Trump, I sincerely question whether this is the party for me."

With Democrats picking up both Georgia Senate seats this week, the upper chamber is now split 50-50 between Republicans and Democrats, meaning Democratic Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will serve as the tie-breaker after inauguration. Losing Murkowski would weaken the GOP even further, as the Democrats hold a majority in the House and have won the White House.

Murkowski is the first Republican senator to call for Trump to step down, as House Democrats draw up articles of impeachment against the president for the second time.

Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) said Friday that impeachment of the president is "not going to happen" in the Senate.

But another GOP senator, Ben Sasse of Nebraska, told CBS News that if the House brought articles of impeachment against Trump, he would "definitely consider" such a measure.

Cocaine-Filled Colombian Submarine Intercepted near Mexican Beach

Four drug traffickers from Colombia used a makeshift submarine to move cocaine into Mexican waters this week.

The seizure took place near the beach resort area of Huatulco, Oaxaca, when military forces working coast guard operations intercepted the makeshift submarine, the Mexican Navy revealed. A military surveillance aircraft spotted the submarine and coordinated the capture.

Authorities arrested four men identified only as Colombian nationals. Sailors seized the boat and 106 bundles of cocaine. A total weight for the cocaine remains undisclosed. Mexico’s Navy claimed the four suspected drug runners and their equipment would be turned over to the Oaxaca Attorney General’s Office for criminal handling.

Former Adviser Bolton Calls for Trump to Resign, Be Investigated on Inciting Capitol Riots

Since the Capitol riots on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump has been repeatedly slammed by officials for encouraging supporters to storm the federal building, where lawmakers were certifying the results of the 2020 election. Moments before the violent insurrection, Trump called on supporters to stop the US election from being “stolen.”

Former national security adviser John Bolton remarked on Friday that Trump should resign from his presidential post, and that he should be investigated under sedition laws for inciting supporters to act out over the certification of the Electoral College results.

In an interview with Channel 4 News journalist Matt Frei, Bolton indicated that the commander-in-chief should step down as president, although the former adviser acknowledged “there is absolutely zero chance” Trump will do so.

However, Bolton was neither thrilled with efforts to invoke the 25th Amendment nor moves to draw up impeachment articles against Trump - both measures that multiple congressional lawmakers have thrown their support behind.

“I think for those who advocate either invoking the 25th Amendment - for which this situation was not made - or impeachment, they have to be able to make the case that proceeding along either of those lines would make the situation for the next 12 days better than it is now, and I don't think they can make that case,” he said.

Instead, Bolton hinted that officials should effectively let things play out until Inauguration Day.

“I'm not really all that concerned that he’s going to do much in any sphere. I think we’d all be better if he got on Air Force One and flew to Florida and spent the next 12 days golfing,” Bolton said, before adding, “I don’t think we should overestimate the dangers here.”

Earlier, Democrats and some Republicans came together and called for Trump to be removed through Section Four of the 25th Amendment, which would require US Vice President Mike Pence and the majority of Trump’s Cabinet to agree Trump is unfit for office. But with Pence reportedly not supportive of the move, lawmakers have also focused efforts on starting impeachment proceedings for the second time.

Reports emerged Friday that articles of impeachment against Trump would be introduced in the US House of Representatives on Monday and charge the president with “willfully inciting violence against the government of the United States.”

Although Bolton told Frei that Trump “should be investigated” for sedition, the likelihood is somewhat low, as Ken Kohl, the acting principal assistant for the US attorney’s office in Washington, DC, revealed on Friday the US Department of Justice would not be filing incitement charges against Trump or any speakers present at the “Stop the Steal” rally held hours before the storming of the US Capitol.

Trump supporters were locked inside of their hotels by D.C. police.

Video footage shot in the nation’s capital appears to show a group of Trump supporters being locked inside their hotel by Metropolitan Police officers following Wednesday’s protests against the certification of electoral votes on Capitol Hill.

As the group of the President’s supporters watched from the hotel’s lobby, an officer wearing sergeant’s stripes can be seen shoving a bar between the two front doors in an effort to lock the group inside, before tauntingly waving at onlookers through a set of windows.

“That’s a fire hazard!” several can be heard shouting to no avail.

“Look at whatOfficer Weinfelddid for us,” a woman says, “he gave us a fire hazard.”

“Now we can’t get out,” a man then says.

The video, posted to Twitter Friday morning by The Red Elephants’ Vincent James, has quickly begun to go viral.

As protestors gathered outside the nation’s Capitol building on Wednesday, D.C.’s Democrat Mayor, Muriel Bowser, issued a 6:00 P.M. curfew, reportedly ordering officers to arrest any persons found within a 6 block radius of the building or its grounds. Subsequently, Bowser declared a 15-day public emergency citywide, allowing for the use of martial law for the remainder of President Trump’s term in office.

Cooke, Bowser’s plans to set up an arrest radius went out the window following the police shooting of Ashlee Babbitt, a protestor who had entered the United States Capitol building after Capitol Police officers opened the building’s doors, inviting a large group of demonstrators inside.

In the ensuing mayhem, a Capitol Police officer was struck in the head with a fire extinguisher, leading his death.

The Metropolitan Police Department responded to the Capitol, eventually deploying tear gas on protestors gathered outside.

Bowser’s Metropolitan Police Department’s response to the unrest has been called into question by conservatives nationwide, who have attempted to compare and contrast the Mayor’s response to long-term violence instigated in the city by Black Lives Matter and AntiFa members last summer. Some have also suggested that agitator members of the two militant groups were responsible for instigating violence at the Capitol, having infiltrated the crowd.

Previously, Bowser has offered her support to the far-left Black Lives Matter movement, renaming a stretch of 16th Street NW “Black Lives Matter Plaza” in honor of the group, while repeatedly lambasting President Trump and his supporters.

SHALLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Authorities say a hand grenade that killed a Virginia teenager may be one of the many explosives that were unknowingly sold at a North Carolina antique mall.

The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said in a statement Thursday the teen died on Dec. 23 in Abingdon, Virginia.

The agency says the deadly explosion may have come from a grenade purchased at Fancy Flea Antique Mall in Shallotte, North Carolina.

The ATF said last month they were looking for a grenade that was sold at that store in June. They say the vendor did not believe the grenades were active at the time of the sale. The agency now says more live grenades might have been purchased there.
