Recently retired Senator Mike Enzi of Wyoming dies at 77 after bicycle accident
Gillette, Wyoming — Retired Senator Mike Enzi, a Wyoming Republican known as a consensus-builder in an increasingly polarized Washington, has died following a bicycle accident. He was 77.
Enzi died peacefully Monday surrounded by family and friends, former spokesman Max D'Onofrio said.
Enzi had been hospitalized with a broken neck and ribs three days after a bicycle accident near Gillette on Friday. He was stabilized before being flown to a hospital in Colorado but remained unconscious, D'Onofrio said.
Enzi fell near his home about 8:30 p.m. Friday, family friend John Daly said, around the time Gillette police received a report of a man lying unresponsive in a road near a bike.
Police said they've seen no indication that anybody else was nearby or involved in the accident.

AUDRAIN COUNTY − The Audrain County Health Department (ACHD) is rolling out a new vaccination campaign to encourage people to receive the vaccine.
A news release from ACHD says the low rates of vaccination in the county is the cause of the new campaign, Team Audrain. According to the state's vaccine dashboard, there are only 26.9% of Audrain County residents fully vaccinated. It shows 181 doses have been administered the last seven days.
The campaign hopes to increase awareness of getting vaccinated, spark more conversations and overall increase the number of vaccinated individuals in the county.
Vaccinated individuals will be able to fill out a survey, or call 573-581-1332, to receive a ***metal 'COVID-19 Vaccinated' lapel pin* in the mail. Recipients will be asked to wear the pin around town and post a picture on social media using '#TeamAudrain' on their post. Those who share may get the opportunity to have their COVID-19 vaccination story shared on ACHD social media.

Bicyclist killed in Balboa Park crash was a prominent architect, planner
SAN DIEGO — A 57-year-old bicyclist killed Tuesday when she was struck by a car in Balboa Park was identified Wednesday as a prominent architect and planner who oversaw the planning and design of several San Diego State University facilities.
Laura Shinn worked as SDSU’s director of facilities planning and was serving as the 2021 president of the board of directors of the American Institute of Architects’ San Diego chapter. She also was a founding member of the Women in Architecture group in San Diego.
In a statement, SDSU described Shinn as “an incredibly talented architect who helped oversee much of our university’s development and growth.”
“From the Engineering & Interdisciplinary Science Complex to the ongoing development of SDSU Mission Valley, Laura’s creativity and commitment to sustainability was evident in every project she touched,” the statement read. “Those projects will forever serve as a physical testament to Laura’s impact both on and off campus.”

Air Force to land planes on Michigan highway during war training exercise
ALPENA COUNTY, MI – A portion of a Northern Michigan highway will be closed when the U.S. Air Force trains personnel to land on civilian roadways as part of the annual Northern Strike war-readiness training exercise next month, WPBN/WGTU reports.
Airmen will attempt to land two C-146 and four A-10 aircraft on M-32, near the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center in Alpena County, on Thursday, Aug. 5, the report said. The highway will be closed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. from east of Herron Road to west of King Settlement Road for the exercise.
Participating units are the Michigan Air National Guard’s127th Wing from Selfridge Air National Guard Base, the Air Force’s 355th Wing from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona and the Air Force Special Operations Command from Duke Field in Florida, the report said.

“NBC News, citing unnamed officials aware of the decision, reported it comes after new data suggests vaccinated individuals could have higher levels of virus and infect others amid the surge of cases driven by the delta variant of the coronavirus,” the USA Today reported in a passage that was later scrubbed from an article.
The new headline from the USA Today drops the reference to NBC News, but nonetheless corroborates the news: “CDC says vaccinated people may transmit virus, recommends masks indoors.”
“CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said new data shows the delta variant, which accounts for more than 80% of the new infections in the U.S., behaves ‘uniquely differently’ from its predecessors and could make vaccinated people infectious,” the article notes.
“Information on the delta variant from several states and other countries indicates that in rare occasions some vaccinated people infected with the delta variant after vaccination may be contagious and spread the virus to others,” Walensky said in announcing new guidance, which reverses a CDC recommendation in May. “This new science is worrisome and unfortunately warrants an update to our recommendation.”
NBC News reported on the CDC guidance reversal on Monday.
“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended Tuesday that fully vaccinated people begin wearing masks indoors again in places with high Covid-19 transmission rates,” NBC News reported. “The agency is also recommending kids wear masks in schools this fall.”
“Federal health officials still believe fully vaccinated individuals represent a very small amount of transmission,” the report continued. “Still, some vaccinated people could be carrying higher levels of the virus than previously understood and potentially transmit it to others.”
Texas state representatives who had fled from the state to avoid a vote on election integrity bills are now believed to have spread COVID to unnamed White House officials and a staffer from Speaker Nancy Pelosi. All of the Texas Democrats are believed to have been vaccinated, and none of them wore masks on charter buses or private planes, as can be seen in publicized photos.

Created in May in collaboration International Basketball Federation, NBA Africa runs the Basketball Africa League (BAL) — the first internationally-operated professional league from the NBA. New South Wales Police Commissioner Mick Fuller has officially become a violator of international human rights, and under international law, he should be arrested and prosecuted. Fuller has warned anyone organizing or planning to attend a second COVID lockdown protest in Sydney that “you will be arrested.” There is nothing legal about what he is ordering the police to do and following his orders is no different than the Nazis pretending what they were doing was legal simply because they were ordered to do so. Fuller is destroying Australia as a free country, pushing it into the clutches of the evolving totalitarian regime being created quietly behind the curtain as inspired by the World Economic Forum.
Fuller has become so anti-human rights that he is labeling COVID protestors as anarchists as if that somehow justifies imprisoning people and abusing international human rights. The NSW police are violating every possible principle of a free government and this is the very excuse the West used to invade Iraq and Syria because their respective governments were abusing the accord on international human rights. This is an extremely dangerous position for the police to take. History warns that such people are the very types who inspire revolutions. Revolution will come. Our computer is very clear on that. Our present form of representative governments around the world will collapse, for they no longer represent the people. Fuller is condemning his own family to tyranny and he and his police force will forever be seen as the evil tyrants by history. Just because a politician decrees something does NOT make it legal, ethical, or morally correct.
The NSW police have become so ruthless, they have no problem subjecting people to experimental vaccines that are not working. Israel is reporting that the Pfizer vaccine is now down to only 39% effective against the Delta variant. We have to wonder why the police are like the Nazis of World War II with the same identical excuse — I am just following orders! This implies they are incapable of actual free thinking. Scott Morrison changed his position from treating COVID as the flu to a lethal disease that justified destroying the economy. It has been suggested that he is taking his marching order from the World Economic Forum, and this change now justifies Fuller to violate international human rights.
This video is already circulating about the Australian government and how they are violating every international principle of human rights. Obviously, Australia is certainly not a country to visit on vacation anymore. It was once upon a time, a place I often thought I would like to retire to. I loved Australia. Spent a lot of time there. Went into Kakadu and Ayers Rock. I even have paintings by Australian artists to remind me of how beautiful it was.

Our attorney suggested the Senate perform an independent counting of each ballot paper prior to the ballots being returned. This has been accomplished…”
