NG-21 Mission Relaunch
SpaceX is targeting Sunday, August 4 for Falcon 9’s launch of Northrop Grumman’s 21st Cygnus mission (NG-21) to the International Space Station from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
The instantaneous launch window is at 11:02 a.m. ET.
A live webcast of this mission will begin about 20 minutes prior to liftoff, which you can watch here and on X @SpaceX.
This is the tenth flight of the first stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched Ax-2, Euclid, Ax-3, CRS-30, SES ASTRA 1P, and four Starlink missions.
Following stage separation, Falcon 9 will land on Landing Zone 1 (LZ-1) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
Aboard the Cygnus spacecraft are tests of water recovery technology, a process to produce stem cells in microgravity, studies of the effects of spaceflight on microorganism DNA, liver tissue growth, and live science demonstrations for students.

Report:Engineers Discover Nationwide Cellular Network Connects Election Equipment and Gives Federal Government Access to Election Systems at Precinct Level
by Guest Contributor Aug. 14, 2023 4:30 pm
A growing majority of Americans know the 2020 election was fraudulent. Many analysts who have been studying election integrity have concluded that there had to be a two-way connection between local election electronics (electronic poll pads, tabulators, election management systems, voter databases, etc.) and a centralized data collection system responsible for monitoring and manipulating the election. Fingers have rightly been pointed at all-inclusive election management software, the Albert Sensor system, Scytl and Edison, and the Election Infrastructure Information Sharing and Analysis Center (EI-ISAC).
This incestuous collaboration between the Department of Homeland Security, the Election Assistance Commission, leftist/globalist funding, foreign companies, and their private partners, allowed for the real-time monitoring of all election data, and more importantly, the ability to change the results.
A year-long research project led by an election integrity investigator from Utah, Sophie Anderson, and communications engineer, Dr. Charles Bernardin, has uncovered the mechanism that is being used to connect our election equipment at polling places across the nation. Anderson and Bernardin met while working together in several overlapping election integrity efforts. After submitting a countless number of public documents requests from multiple federal, state, and local governments, and working with other grassroots researchers, the team realized that the federal government has indeed created a nationwide network that is capable of collecting and changing real-time voting data at polling places across the country from a central location. The private network tool is called firstnet, and like so many things that have proven detrimental to American liberty - it was sold as a tool to ensure public safety.
Curiously, just days before Barack Obama left office, his administration's Department of Homeland Security used the specter of "Russian interference" in the 2016 election as an excuse to declare election systems to be a part of that critical infrastructure. As a result, the stage was set to roll election systems into firstnet.

U.S. Air Force awards $14.9 million contract to Capella Space for radar imaging
August 2, 2024
Capella Space, a San Francisco-based satellite imaging company, has secured a $14.9 million contract from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to provide synthetic aperture radar (SAR) services, the company announced on Monday.
Capella Space specializes in Earth observation using SAR technology, which allows for high-resolution imaging regardless of weather conditions or time of day.
Unlike traditional optical satellites, SAR systems can penetrate cloud cover and darkness.
The contract, set to run until December 2026, is to integrate Capella’s SAR data into AFRL’s Global Unification Environment, an experimental cloud-based platform designed to test automated satellite tasking and imaging collection strategies using commercial systems.
Alexander Duchane, an electronics engineer at AFRL’s Space Vehicles Directorate, explained the reason for the project.
“We’re interested in working with commercial satellite companies across multiple phenomenologies to understand their capabilities and military utility,” Duchane said Aug. 1 in a statement to SpaceNews.
AFRL, located at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico, said the agreement with Capella is a Small Business Innovation Research Phase 2 Strategic Funding Increase award.
This type of contract is typically aimed at supporting small businesses in their research and development efforts with potential for commercialization.
Capella Space, founded in 2016, has been seeking to expand its footprint in the defense sector.

The Convention Spoke and Told Us: The GOP is Dead
Now we must fight Trumpism in earnest
Adam Kinzinger
Jul 19, 2024
It was called the Republican National Convention, but in fact, it had nothing to do with the GOP most of us once knew. Gone were the party’s serious policy debates and platform planks. In their place was a celebration of Donald Trump, who has succeeded in converting one of the country’s two major parties into a cult of personality. When it ended, the delegates sent a ticket into the presidential election with no true Republicans on it.
The death of the old GOP was signaled at the start of the week when Trump chose the chameleon J.D. Vance as his running mate. Four years ago, Vance called Trump “cultural heroin” and a man “who encourages the worst in people.” Then, as he campaigned for the Senate, Vance followed his lifelong mentor Peter Thiel into a meeting with Trump and emerged with his endorsement. Next, Thiel poured $15 million into Vance's race, which propelled him to victory. The result? Another politician, like Trump, who is devoted to nothing but the pursuit of power. In fact, he has already said he would try to overturn the 2028 election if it doesn’t turn out the way he wants.
Thiel is worth a mention because he leads a cadre of Silicon Valley billionaires who have gone all-in for Trump. They believe he will free them from the modest constraints placed on them by the government (taxes) and society (public anxiety about technology). The influential Thiel has said, “I no longer believe freedom and democracy are compatible.” This belief is shared by those who consider themselves this era’s masters of the universe but are afraid to say so out loud.
With the choice of Vance, Trump indicated that he has no concern about appeasing the old-style GOPers, who would have been reassured if he had chosen a Marco Rubio or a Tim Scott as a running mate. Rubio (2011) and Scott (2013) have served in the Senate long enough to understand the party’s grand ol’ history and traditions and might have drawn voters outside of Trumpworld. Instead, with Vance, Trump has given us someone so extreme he has said, “…we’re going to have to get pretty wild, and pretty far out there, and go in directions that a lot of conservatives right now are uncomfortable with.”
Further evidence that the convention was dominated by extremists came when Trump’s former White House advisor Peter Navarro raced to appear at the podium just hours after his release from federal prison. Navarro was convicted of contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a subpoena from the House committee that investigated the plot to overturn the 2020 election. (I was a member of the committee). In the pugnacious spirit of the convention, where grievance flowed like water, Navarro characterized himself as a political prisoner. In a rant filled with falsehoods, he riled up the crowd by saying, “I’ve got a very simple message for you. If they can come for me, and if they can come for Donald Trump, be careful. They will come for you.”
Because it is now the Trump Party, the crowd in Milwaukee lapped up Navarro’s message of fear which, after all, is the gateway to rage. Few noticed that, contrary to tradition, past Republican leaders – former President Bush, past nominee Mitt Romney, and former Vice President Dan Quayle – were all absent.
For his part, Trump accepted his party’s nomination with his usual narcissism, speaking for a record 90 minutes, delivering too many lies to count. Brief references to unity were followed by ominous statements borrowed from his incoherent stump speeches. No one in the convention hall seemed to care that this was warmed-over stuff; not an address designed to inspire.
I won’t hide the fact that I grieve the old GOP and fear the cult of Trump. I am equally concerned, though, by Democrats who are shrinking from the fight, concluding that Trump’s election is inevitable. I would say that given a remnant of traditional Republicans remains, and independents must be turned off by a Trump who wants to be emperor. It's time to gather our courage and energy. The fight against him is not lost.

Senate confirms Maj. Gen. John J. DeGoes as next Air Force surgeon general
Aug. 2, 2024
The U.S. Senate confirmed Maj. Gen. John J. DeGoes as the U.S. Air Force surgeon general July 31.
In this position, he will also serve as the principal advisor on all health and medical matters for the Space Force.
The Senate Armed Services Committee confirmed DeGoes by voice vote.
“I am honored the U.S. Senate has confirmed my appointment as the surgeon general of the Air Force,” DeGoes said.
“This is a humbling and significant milestone, and I am committed to advancing the health and readiness of our Airmen and Guardians.
As we navigate a challenging strategic security environment, I will focus on enhancing our medical capabilities to ensure we are always prepared.”
DeGoes formerly served as deputy surgeon general, Office of the Surgeon General, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Falls Church, Virginia, since May 2021.
As deputy surgeon general, he supported an integrated healthcare delivery and readiness system with 44,000 personnel, which served 2.6 million beneficiaries and 76 military treatment facilities globally.
DeGoes provided oversight for the daily functions of the Air Force Surgeon General’s office across four locations.
These functions included clinical operations and quality; aeromedical evacuation; management of global forces, programs and budget, medical forces and medical information systems.
He coordinated Air Force Medical Service operations through major commands, field commands, joint service agencies, the Defense Health Agency, and the Department of Veteran Affairs.
DeGoes is a chief physician and flight surgeon board certified in internal medicine. He is also a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a certified Physician Executive.
DeGoes graduated from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in 1989, after receiving direct commission to attend the medical school.
His prior leadership include serving as commander of the 59th Medical Wing and command surgeon for the U.S. Air Force Central Command and the bi-national command, U.S. Northern Command-North American Aerospace Defense Command.
DeGoes will be sworn in as the Department of Air Force’s 25th surgeon general and promoted to the rank of lieutenant general on a forthcoming date.

Nancy Pelosi denies making calls to organize Democrat coup against Biden
Reports said Pelosi was working to oust Biden for weeks
By Anders Hagstrom Fox News
Published August 4, 2024 8:04am EDT
Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi is denying claims that she made phone calls to organize the Democratic coup that ultimately forced President Biden out of the 2024 presidential race.
Pelosi was pressed on her role in the pressure campaign in an interview with CBS News Sunday Morning.
"No, I wasn’t the leader of any pressure [campaign]," Pelosi told CBS. "Let me say things that I didn’t do: I didn’t call one person. I did not call one person. I could always say to him, ‘I never called anybody.'"
The former House speaker was told of reports Biden is angry with her over perceived role in short-circuiting his plans for a second term.
"He knows that I love him very much," she said, declining to talk further on the topic.
Panic spread through the Democratic Party after Biden's disastrous performance in a debate against former President Trump in June. What followed was a steady stream of leaks from within the party decrying the former president's age and mental acuity, as well as lawmakers outright calling for his withdrawal.
During this time, top Democrats all remained publicly aligned with Biden, though they often said he had a tough decision to make.
"It’s up to the president to decide if he is going to run," Pelosi told MSNBC at the time. "We’re all encouraging him to make that decision because time is running short. The, I think, overwhelming support of the caucus, it’s not for me to say. I’m not the head of the caucus anymore, but he’s beloved, he is respected, and people want him to make that decision. Not me."
A number of top Democrats were reportedly moving against Biden at the time, including former President Barack Obama.
Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy claimed that Pelosi and Obama together were responsible for "pulling the strings" behind the effort to oust Biden.
Pelosi also spoke directly with Biden at the time, bluntly informing him that polls showed him losing to Trump and causing a disaster for Democrats in the House.
Biden responded by pushing back, telling her he has seen polls that indicate he can win, one source told CNN.
Another one of the sources described Biden as getting defensive about the polls and that at one point, Pelosi asked Mike Donilon, Biden’s longtime adviser, to get on the line to talk over the data.
A spokesperson for Pelosi's office declined to comment about the conversation at the time.

Bauernfeind assumes role as 22nd Academy superintendent
Aug. 2, 2024
U.S. Air Force Academy cadets, faculty and staff welcomed their 22nd superintendent, Lt. Gen. Tony Bauernfeind, during an assumption of command ceremony held here Aug. 2.
“[Bauernfeind’s career] is checkered with all the things you would expect of a senior leader, but something else as well,” said Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Allvin.
“He has intellectual curiosity, vision, and an adherence to principles. Those are things we need as we navigate this transformation of the United States Air Force Academy to develop young leaders.”
Bauernfeind, a 1991 Academy graduate, took the helm from Lt. Gen. Richard M. Clark, who retired June 1 following the Class of ’24 graduation.
Bauernfeind will continue Clark’s goal of developing leaders of character, with an additional focus on creating warfighters in an era of Great Power Competition.
“It is an honor to lead the Air Force Academy with its rich history and legacy of developing leaders.
I can tell you that my time as a cadet played a pivotal role in laying the foundation for me as a leader for the past 33 years,” Bauernfeind said upon assuming command.
“I am excited to return to this extraordinary team that is dedicated to developing our next generation of combat-ready leaders.”
Having served his entire career in U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command, most recently as its top general, Bauernfeind has a unique perspective and decades of expertise in developing lethal warfighters.
“I could not be more positive, more optimistic, more confident in the future of our U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force than I am now looking at these leaders, looking at the plan and looking at the great Americans that continue to come up that ramp and say ‘yes, I am going to join this winning team,’” Allvin said.
The priorities of his tenure will reflect the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force's directives in the 2022 National Defense Strategy to ensure the next generation of officers has the foundation and skills to lead the Department of the Air Force in this new direction.
“As we look to the future, it is clear we are in a time of consequence, with geopolitical instability ever evident in our headlines,” Bauernfeind said. “Our officers must be prepared on day one to lead in a dynamic and changing world against adversaries wishing to harm our nation, our allies, and our partners.”
As the Academy’s superintendent, Bauernfeind will direct the undergraduate academic program, military and athletic training, and character development.
The cadets Bauernfeind leads will earn a Bachelor of Science degree and commission as second lieutenants into the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force.
“As a military academy, our priorities are the foundation of everything we will do,” Bauernfeind said. “Every activity, every action, and every program we have must support and reflect our priorities.
And we will focus on our priorities, which are: we will develop war fighters to win. We will develop leaders of character and quality. And we will develop critical thinkers to adapt.”

NEWSBREAK Arizona judge strikes ‘unborn human being’ from abortion ballot language
Cassy Fiano-Chesser | August 3, 2024
A ballot initiative to expand abortion in Arizona will not use the phrase “unborn human being” after a judge rejected the language put forth by Republican lawmakers, deeming it too partisan and emotional. The case is now headed to the state Supreme Court.
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Christopher Whitten asked that the initiative, which seeks to expand abortion access from 15 weeks to 24 weeks, use more “neutral” language. Children born as young as 21 weeks have survived.
Earlier this year, Arizonans for Access — a coalition of pro-abortion groups, including the ACLU of Arizona and Planned Parenthood of Arizona — announced that they had gathered enough signatures to put a pro-abortion measure on the ballot in November. If passed, the initiative would create a “fundamental right” in the state constitution to intentionally kill preborn children up to so-called viability, an arbitrary pregnancy marker since children are surviving at increasingly premature ages and are completely viable when left in the natural habitat of the womb.
Abortion would also be permitted for the remainder of pregnancy up to 40 weeks under exceptions for “the life or physical or mental health of the pregnant individual,” which is so broad that it allows abortion for virtually any reason.
READ: Iowa’s ‘heartbeat law’ is in effect, protecting most preborn children from abortion at 6 weeks
Opponents of the measure have argued that the ‘mental health’ exception could make it easy to kill a preborn child at any point in pregnancy based on how the mother is feeling, including if she is suffering from emotional stress, financial stress, or familial stress. This broad exception existed under Roe v. Wade‘s partner decision, Doe v. Bolton.
Republican lawmakers in Arizona issued the proposed language that included the phrase “unborn human being,” which quickly led to a lawsuit from the abortion coalition. It claimed the word “fetus” should be used instead, and that “unborn human being” is too politically charged.
“Arizona voters have a right to clear, accurate and impartial information from the state before they are asked to vote on ballot initiatives,” the pro-abortion group said in a statement. “The decision of the Arizona Legislative Council fails to abide by that responsibility by rejecting the request to use the neutral, medical term ‘fetus’ in place of ‘unborn human being’ in the 2024 General Election Publicity Pamphlet.”
The judge agreed, ruling that the phrase is “packed with emotion and partisan meaning” — because it rightly identifies the humanity of the child in the womb — and that it needs to be rewritten with more “neutral” language....

USPS Inspector General Gives Dire Mail-In Ballot Warning
https://conservativebrief.com/usps-warning-84853/
Another red flag has been raised regarding mail-in voting as the presidential election approaches.
An audit conducted by the U.S. Postal Service showed that the agency failed to deliver political and election mail between 2 and 3 percent of the time, Just The News reported.
The Postal Service’s chief watchdog also warned that some ballots may be delayed or not counted in the coming election.
“We found that Postal Service personnel did not always comply with policy and procedures regarding all clear certifications, Election and Political Mail logs, and audit checklists,” the Postal Service Inspector General said in the report. “In addition, we identified processes and policies that could pose a risk of delays in the processing and delivery of Election and Political Mail.
“Further, we identified issues related to some Delivering for America operational changes that pose a risk of individual ballots not being counted,” the report said.
The watchdog said he made recommendations to improve mail-in ballots, but USPS managers disagreed with two of the solutions.
“Opportunities exist for the Postal Service to improve readiness for timely processing and delivery of Election and Political Mail for the 2024 general election,” the report said.
Just The News reported:
The inspector general said it studied the Postal Service’s compliance with its election mail requirements during the lead up to and completion of early primary elections from Dec. 1, 2023, through April 1, 2024.
It noted that while the mail service is committed to timely delivery, not all of the employees it audited at 15 mail processing facilities and 35 delivery units were following the rules and procedures. “We found 12 of 15 (80 percent) mail processing facilities did not complete all clear certifications according to policy” that ensures political mail got processed by daily required deadlines, the report said.
As a result, the audit found “between two and 220 ballots at the seven facilities after completion of the all clear process.”
Overall, ballots to voters were processed on time only on an average of 97.01 percent of the time, while ballots returned to election counting centers were processed about 98.17% of the time, the IG reported.
In June, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected a challenge to Texas voting rules that let seniors automatically vote by mail but not younger people.
Older voters can ask for an absentee ballot for any reason in Texas, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Tennessee. In other states, older voters can only do this in certain situations.
Just as it rejected a similar challenge to Indiana’s voting laws in 2021, the court on Monday declined to hear an appeal from three Texas voters. Additionally, it twice declined to hear earlier versions of the Texas lawsuit that the Texas Democratic Party had filed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The challengers argued that the 26th Amendment forbids age-based discrimination, which is what the unequal treatment of voters amounts to.
Ratified in 1971 to lower the voting age to 18, the amendment says the right to vote “shall not be denied or abridged … on account of age.”
“Whatever voting rights a state grants to people aged 65 and over, it must also grant to people under 65,” the Texas voters told the Supreme Court in their unsuccessful appeal.
They wanted the court to reverse an appeals court’s decision that Texas’ rules are legal since making it easier for some people to vote doesn’t make it harder for others.
Also, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans said that the right to vote did not include the right to vote by mail when the 26th Amendment was made law.
Most states either mail ballots to all voters or let any resident ask for an absentee ballot.

08/03/2024August 3, 2024
Although largely praised, one scene during the Paris Olympics opening ceremony sparked fury among the Catholic Church, far-right politicians in France and the religious right in the United States.
A person covered in blue, depicting Dionysus, sits as he is surrounded by people during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics
The Olympic opening ceremony choreographer said thescene depicted a pagan feast linked to the gods of Olympus not "The Last Supper" painting by Leonardo Da Vinci. (dudes you are too late, if it was true it would have been said that day. Macron is going to hell.)
French President Emmanuel Macron said on Friday he was "outraged" by the cyberbullying of the Olympic Games opening ceremony's choreographer.
Macron went on to praise what the called artist Thomas Jolly's "audacity," adding that the nation was proud of the Paris 2024 opening ceremony.
"The French were very proud of this ceremony," said Macron on the sidelines of a visit to Paris Olympics volunteers. "France showed its audacity with the artistic freedom that it comes with."
Jolly's "daring art in the opening ceremony made many people happy," he added.
Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo also gave her "unwavering support" to Jolly, saying in a statement that he "held our values high."
"It was a pride and an honor for Paris to be able to count on his talent to magnify our city and tell the world who we are," she added. "Paris will always be on the side of artists, of creation and therefore, on the side of freedom."
Death threats, insults and defamation
The Paris Prosecutors' Office said Jolly filed a police complaint on Tuesday, four days after the opening ceremony, for death threats, "public insults" and "defamation."
Jolly said he has been "the target of threatening messages and insults on social networks criticizing his sexual orientation and his wrongly-assumed Israeli roots," prosecutors said in a statement, adding that France's Central Office for Combating Crimes Against Humanity and Hate Crimes has been charged with the investigation.
French DJ and LGBTQ+ activist Barbara Butch, who also took part in the ceremony, also filed a complaint with prosecutors earlier this week over cyberbullying and death threats.

Mosques will be offered greater protection with new 'emergency security'

Mosques will be offered greater protection with new "emergency security" that can be rapidly deployed to respond to violent disorder sweeping across parts of England, the Home Office has announced.
The statement came amid anti-immigration demonstrators attacked police and smashed the windows of a hotel, as unrest across the country continues.
Masked rioters launched lengths of wood and sprayed fire extinguishers at police officers outside a Holiday Inn Express in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
Videos from social media appeared to show demonstrators storming into the hotel, with reports of a fire inside.
A police helicopter circled overhead, and at least one injured officer in riot gear was carried away as the atmosphere turned febrile.
Elsewhere, Greater Manchester Police said a Section 34 dispersal notice has been authorised covering Bolton until 10pm on Sunday, where a protest is expected later.
Merseyside Police have introduced two section 60 orders giving officers greater stop-and-search powers covering Liverpool and Southport.
The orders were put in place at 2pm on Sunday and will stay active for a 12-hour period until 2am on Monday.
Inspector Al McKeon said: "The scenes we saw yesterday in Liverpool and Walton, and on Tuesday in Southport, were despicable. They left dozens of officers requiring hospital treatment and have already led to the arrests of a total of 33 suspects."
Police have "all the resources they need" to deal with riots and disorder, a minister said earlier.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has given police his "full backing" to take any action necessary to respond to "extremists" attempting to "sow hate" after scenes of disorder in England and Northern Ireland this week.
Teams worked through the night to reopen streets in cities like Hull, where volunteers armed with brushes turned up from 7am to assist council crews.
"Yesterday we saw the worst of Hull but already today we have seen the best," councillor Jack Haines of Hull City Council said.

On last night's show we found ourselves going through the 2023 contingency plan guidance for the DOD in the absence of available appropriations - basically what activities are deemed essential to continue if there is a government shutdown.
This morning I found the prior version of this guidance from 2015. Comparing the 2015 and 2023 versions line by line I found only 1 excepted activity added to the new guidance.
"Activities necessary for Continuity of Government and Continuity of Operations"
Could be a coincidence.
Could be my own confirmation bias.
Or, did something happen between 2015 and 2023 that inclined the DOD to make sure they included Continuity of Government in the guidance for what activities are deemed essential to continue even if there isn't $$$ to pay for it.
Whatever the reason, it's notable.

What is the point of having a base in Qatar if we cannot use it to conduct military operations?
The @DeptofDefense must immediately close the base in Qatar and relocate the forces to another country in the region. We must also revoke its status as a non-NATO ally.
