The Mission was founded in the 1980s by a Detroit pastor as The Caring and Sharing Mission.

Following the devastating earthquake of January, 2010, the Mission was the second project chosen by the A Hole in the Roof Foundation. The Foundation was committed to rebuilding and repairing the home to more than seventy children. In December 2010, as the Mission fell upon hard times, and A Hole in the Roof Foundation assumed operation, changing its name to Have Faith Haiti, inspired partly by Albom’s book “Have a Little Faith.”

The mission of A Hole in the Roof Foundation is to help faith and relief groups of every denomination who care for the homeless and/or victims of disasters. A Hole in the Roof aims to help build or provide funds to repair the spaces in which they offer services. The roots of the Foundation – which also inspired its name – is the I Am My Brother’s Keeper church in Detroit, MI, written about by the Foundation’s founder and president Mitch Albom in his book, Have a Little Faith. Here, despite a gaping hole in the roof through which rain and snow fell on the congregation, the pastor tended to his community, providing spiritual nourishment and a sanctuary for the needy.

House Republicans on Thursday threatened to hold Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis in contempt of Congress for not complying with the House Judiciary Committee's subpoena and document requests.

Wills was sent the subpoena in early February after several failed attempts to have her voluntarily comply, the Republicans said.

"We appreciate that you have produced a narrow set of documents in response to the subpoena, but your compliance with the subpoena to date is deficient," Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said in a letter Thursday to Willis.

If Willis does not respond to the subpoena by March 28, the House panel "will consider taking further action, such as the invocation of contempt of Congress proceedings," the Judiciary Committee also said.

Jordan subpoenaed Willis for information about whether the Fulton County District Attorney's office received and used federal funds. Willis is currently prosecuting former President Donald Trump for allegedly trying to overturn the 2020 election in his favor in Georgia.

While the prevailing narrative surrounding efforts to ban TikTok in the United States has echoed the same jingoistic appeal to preserve our "national security" that every landmark bill assaulting the civil liberties of Americans has used to veil its true intent, that initiative may be led by another sovereign nation whose perverse influence over American politics makes them much more qualified to be labeled a foreign adversary than anyone pushing the social media platform. Much like the Patriot Act and policy making both foreign and domestic that has shaped the US political landscape for the worst, Israel's ubiquitous influence over American politics shows that the Jewish state's fingerprints are unsurprisingly all over the TikTok ban as well. It's no secret that Israel is losing the information war over Gaza when it comes to Gen Z. By promoting a bill that divests existing parties from control over the app, the ban paves the way for a new consortium of ownership to come in and use the platform to usurp control of the narrative on the war in Gaza back in the hands of the pro-Israel lobby.

The bill itself defines a "foreign adversary" as those listed under 10 U.S. Code § 4872(d)(2) which in turn refers to these parties as "covered nation[s]". On that short list are the usual suspects when it comes to the eternal boogeymen that instill fear in the hearts of every simple minded NPC in the United States: North Korea, China, Iran, and of course RussiaRussiaRussia. Those countries have something else in common that has emerged in the international geopolitical landscape, their growing opposition to the Israel-US axis and its view on the future of the Gaza Strip. In recent months, China in particular has taken a much more overtly pro-Gaza position against Israel, joining North Korea and Iran but most importantly Russia

On Eagle Semen and lessons learned – False Gravity

Starting this month I’m selling my book “Eagle Semen” as an eBook through Amazon and Gumroad. It’s the story of how I quit my job as a producer of TechTV’s The Screen Savers in the worst possible way, and why.

What the book doesn’t really go into, though, is what happens after you write an email like that. At the time I thought I was walking away from working in television, and that it really wouldn’t matter what people would think of me for writing an email about all of them “drowning in eagle semen.” I was right and wrong.

As it turns out, I never did work in television again (nor do I intend to), but it does matter what people think of me. Not only did I manage to burn bridges with many of the people I worked with at TechTV (most of whom did me no wrong), but at every job interview since I’ve been asked to address that email, and there have been times when I’ve missed opportunities because of having written it.

I have zero regrets. After all, I’ve done alright. And the person I am today needed to be the person I was then. But one of the lessons I’ve learned over the years is that how you say goodbye matters just as much, if not more, than how you say hello. I’ve never again written such an angry farewell email.

That said, I’ve been tempted. And I’ve also been tempted to “revisit” the “eagle semen” email in sly ways. But in the end (no pun intended) I’ve tended to fall on the side of trying to inspire and encourage those I’m leaving behind, rather than intimidate them.

Below is an email I wrote (but never sent) when I was leaving Polygon in July of 2014. It’s a riff on the “eagle semen” email, but, I think, much more positive.

When men look to the sky, they see the eagle soar and feel shame that they, too, can’t fly. When eagles see men, they see all that man might be and know that some day man, too, will fly.

As you walk into the future that awaits you, don’t look to the sky and see the eagles and doubt that you belong among them. Instead, allow yourself to be filled with the spirit of what the eagles see in men, and know that one day, you too will soar.

You’ve all probably heard by now: I will be leaving Polygon, effective June 27.

When I spoke with Vox in November of 2011 about helping to start Polygon, I thought it was a company led by crazy people. The plan they shared with me, to build websites based on quality first, driven by premium advertising, was one I knew well. We tried it at The Escapist, and I believed in it there (hey, Webbys) and still believe in it now.

But focusing on quality first is a risky play. It takes time and money and a commitment to persevere in the face of impending doom. Many media companies simply don’t have the will to pull it off.

Vox had the will. Vox believed it could execute, deliver on quality and build a business on top of it. And it convinced me to help try. I couldn’t resist the opportunity.

So I joined this company led by crazy people and guess what? We did it! We built Polygon, and everything we’ve done at Polygon has been of the highest quality. And people noticed. And we became envied, admired and even feared. And we did all of that in just two years.

Features has been just one part of that, but it’s obviously the part of which I am the most proud. Working with Charlie and Matt and Jake and Warren and Tom and Jimmy and Caleb and Tyson and Ally and Jon Douglas and all of you to write, edit, design, film, illustrate and publish Polygon’s amazing longform features has been the fullest experience of my life so far. We created two of the most exciting and interesting products I’ve ever been a part of, in the longform feature-meets-video series ‘Press Reset’ and ‘Human Angle.’ We touched the humanity of game design in a way that few outlets had done before us, and few will successfully copy after. And this passion for quality and humanity is one of the things we are best known for now.

Simply put, these past three and a half years have been the fulfillment of a very long-held dream for me. A crazy dream, perhaps, but living it out has nevertheless been amazing. And I thank you all for every part you played in it, big and small.

But things change.

As Vox continues to tighten its operations — becoming less crazy maybe — it has become clear to me that the time for what I can positively contribute to Polygon has come to an end, and that now is the time for a graceful exit.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be wrapping up existing stories and helping the features team transition to operating in my permanent absence. After that, apart from finally diving into personal writing projects and giving takethis.org some long overdue attention, I have no idea where I will end up.

Wherever I go I will leave a substantial piece of my heart behind with all of you, at this place we built together with our passion, our hard work and our dreams.

Israel’s Security Chief Cheers Killing of Palestinian Child

Twelve-year-old Rami al-Halhouli was fatally shot while playing with fireworks in a Jerusalem refugee camp

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has commended a border guard who killed a young Palestinian boy playing in occupied East Jerusalem, describing the 12-year-old child as a “terrorist.”

In posts to his Telegram channel on Tuesday, Ben-Gvir claimed the border officer “shot a terrorist” who had tried to “use firecrackers” against Israeli forces the night prior, arguing the guard did “exactly what was expected of him” in executing the unarmed preteen.

“I salute the soldier who killed the terrorist who tried to shoot fireworks at him and the troops. This is exactly how you should act against terrorists – with determination and precision,” he added in another post.

The minister was referring to the fatal shooting of a 12-year-old Palestinian, later identified as Rami al-Halhouli, who was killed as he and other youths played with fireworks in East Jerusalem’s Shufat refugee camp earlier this week.

In the last few seconds of his life, Rami Hamdan Al-Halhouli lit a firework and held it above his head. Then there were three sharp cracks - the first was a police officer's bullet, the second was the firework leaving Rami's hand, the third was the sound of the firework bursting over Rami's body in a bright shower of red and gold.

Rami al-Halhouli was a 12-year-old Palestinian boy born and raised in Shuafat, a refugee camp in occupied East Jerusalem that is home to about 16,000 people. On Tuesday night, Rami was playing with his brother and friends in front of the family home when they urged him on to light a firework. He pointed it away from him, roughly in the direction of some Israeli border police, but aimed up into the sky.

According to video of the incident, before even the firework could go off Rami was hit by a bullet fired by a border police officer positioned some distance away. In a statement, the police said a single shot was fired at a suspect who had "endangered the forces while firing aerial fireworks in their direction".

The police have not yet released Rami's body to the family. The police did not respond to specific questions about the shooting, but the family told the BBC on Wednesday that the bullet hit Rami in his heart.

Appeals Court Denies Peter Navarro’s Bid to Delay Jail Term

Former Trump administration official rejected by federal court.

Peter Navarro’s bid to delay his prison sentence as he appeals his conviction was rejected on March 14 by a federal court. Mr. Navarro, who served in former President Donald Trump’s administration, was convicted in 2023 of contempt of Congress and is slated to report to jail on March 19.

Mr. Navarro’s bid to stay out of prison while he appeals his conviction was turned down in February by U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta, who found that Mr. Navarro failed to pose any substantial questions of law in his motion. Mr. Navarro then asked an appeals court to overturn Judge Mehta’s ruling.

In the decision on Thursday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit rejected the fresh bid.

“Appellant has not shown that his appeal presents substantial questions of law or fact likely to result in reversal, new trial, a sentence that does not include a term of imprisonment, or a reduced sentence of imprisonment that is less than the amount of time already served plus the expected duration of the appeal process,” the court said.

The ruling from the three-judge panel was unanimous. The panel was composed of Circuit Judges Patricia Millett, Cornelia Pillard, and Robert Wilkins, ==all of whom were appointed by former President Barack Obama

Peter Navarro Ordered to Report to Prison on March 19

Federal law requires people seeking release pending appeal to present a “substantial question of law or fact” that is likely to result in one of the outlined results. According to circuit precedent, a substantial question is a question “that very well could be decided the other way.”

Mr. Navarro argued in filings to the appeals court that, as a senior presidential adviser, he was protected by executive privilege. He said the case presents questions that could be decided the other way and thus the appeals court should grant his motion.

“Because the congressional subpoena to Dr. Navarro implicated former

President Trump’s privilege, it was incumbent upon Congress and/or the Department of Justice to confirm with the Judicial branch that the privilege could be overcome, and, having failed to do so, the indictment as against Dr. Navarro must be dismissed,” one filing stated. “At the very least, this issue presents a “close question” or a question, “that very well could be decided the other way,” and this court should order that Dr. Navarro be released pending his appeal.

Government officials in a brief to the court said that Mr. Navarro did not present any substantial questions. Government lawyers said that Mr. Navarro never established that President Trump invoked privilege and that President Joe Biden waived any privilege.

“And even if President Trump had asserted executive privilege, Navarro still could not show a likelihood of reversal or a new trial, because it would not have justified his total noncompliance with the subpoena,” they said.

U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannonon March 14 heard arguments on two of former President Donald Trump’s several motions to dismiss a case alleging he mishandled classified documents,ending the hearing by telling the parties she would issue orders on the motions “promptly.”

Defense attorneys had argued for dismissal of 32 counts regarding mishandling classified documents under the Presidential Records Act (PRA) and for “unconstitutional vagueness,” but the judge seemed unconvinced these arguments were not better suited to the trial stage of the case.

Judge Cannon said it seemed “premature” to bring in facts from outside of the indictment pretrial—such as whether the records in President Trump’s possession were “personal records.”

Much of the argument of the day turned into debate over whether President Trump had the right to designate the documents personal, whether he did do so, and whether that designation under the Presidential Records Act would supersede charges based on the Espionage Act.

Last summer, President Trump was charged with 37 counts, along with his valet Walt Nauta. Later, three charges were added related to obstruction, and Mar-a-Lago property manager Carlos De Oliveira was added as a co-defendant. The case came after the FBI’s high profile raid of Mar-a-Lago in 2022, on the basis that President Trump retained classified documents he had been subpoenaed to return.

Arguments on the two motions frequently bled into a separate motion to dismiss based on selective and vindictive prosecution, which was not on Thursday’s agenda. Attorneys Emil Bove and Todd Blanche argued for the defense and attorneys David Harbach and Jay Bratt argued for the prosecution. Legal counsel for co-defendants Mr. Nauta and Mr. De Oliveira said they planned to join the motion to dismiss under the PRA but have not filed notice yet.

Personal Records?

The indictment alleges it became a crime for President Trump to have classified documents the day he left office. Defense attorneys argued that the PRA differentiates between “presidential” and “personal” records at the president’s sole discretion, tasking the National Archives and Records Administration only with archival duties for records a president chooses to return.

The defense’s position is that by taking the documents from the White House, President Trump had designated these records as “personal.”

Prosecutors argued that President Trump never designated the records personal, did not have the ability to do so as a former president, and that even if he did it would not shield him from prosecution.

Mr. Harbach argued there was no record of President Trump designating the records as personal, that he never wrote it down, told anyone, or labeled his boxes personal, which the judge said was not a “fair” standard and certainly could not be taken as an admission of guilt.

Mr. Bratt said the documents contained classified information and were related to the government, and therefore could not be personal records. “Personal” records refer to things such as diary entries, he argued.

Moscow estimates number of foreign mercenaries killed in Ukraine

More than 13,000 foreigners have taken part in the hostilities on Kiev’s side, nearly 6,000 of whom are now dead, according to the Russian Defense Ministry

The Russian Defense Ministry has released an update on the number of foreign mercenaries killed fighting for Ukraine since February 2022.

At least 13,387 foreign mercenaries have traveled to Ukraine to fight for Kiev, according to figures released by the ministry, with some 5,962 of these confirmed killed.

Ukraine’s western neighbor,Poland, which has been one of the strongest supporters of Kiev during the conflict, has provided by far the largest number of mercenaries, with 2,960, the ministry data shows. More than a half of these, some 1,497 Polish nationals, have been killed during the hostilities.

TheUS, Kiev’s main sponsor and donor of military aid, hasprovided some 1,113 mercenaries. At least491 of these have been killed, according to Russian military estimates.

Third on the list isGeorgia, which has provided some1,042 mercenaries, at least 561 of whom have been killed. While the Caucasus nation has taken a neutral stance on the conflict, repeatedly rejecting Kiev’s calls to open a “second front” against Russia, local hardline nationalists have actively participated in the hostilities.

Georgia is closely followed byCanada, which has provided1,005 identified mercenaries, at least 491 of whom have died. Canada has a large Ukrainian community, mostly originating from the post-WWII era, when Ukrainian Nazi collaborators fled to the country en masse, escaping persecution by the Soviet Union.

The UK, Romania, Croatia and France have also contributed significant numbers of mercenaries. Despite Paris declaring support for Kiev, only some 356 French nationals have opted to fight for it, with around 147 of these getting killed, according to Russian estimates.

French mercenaries are believed to have sustained heavy casualties in mid-January, when a “temporary assembly point of foreign fighters” was hit by a Russian high-precision strike in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkov. The attack killed more than 60 foreigners, predominantly French nationals, the Russian military said at the time.

In what is now a well-known story, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), was allegedly honey-potted by a Chinese spy by the name of Christine Fang, or Fang Fang, from 2011-2015. During this time, Fang Fang “took part in fundraising activity for Swalwell’s 2014 re-election campaign” and helped place at least one intern into Swalwell’s office, as reported by Axios in December 2020.

In 2015, Swalwell received a “defensive briefing” from counterintelligence officials to alert him that Fang Fang potentially being a Chinese spy. The California US Representative quickly cut ties. That same year, Fang Fang reportedly fled the country.

This discovery led to the development of a unit within the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force that was dedicated specifically to “countering China’s political influence in the United States”. It was also reported that now-deceased Senator Dianne Feinstein had been chauffeured by a Chinese spy for upwards of 19 years.

Up until yesterday, the location of Fang Fang was a mystery to the public. But a shocking post from Hu Xijin on X alleges that not only is she still alive and well, but that the story about her in the mainstream media is inaccurate.

Yesterday, Hu Xijin, the former editor-in-chief of the CCP’s Global Times, posted that he just had lunch with Christine Fang. And that the story disseminated about her is wrong. Hu included a photo of Fang Fang sitting with him at a restaurant, perhaps for authenticity.

The list of dead executives from one of Russia’s largest oil companies keeps increasing, and raising suspicions.

Knewz.com has learned about the latest death at the top of Lukoil. A vice president died “suddenly” Tuesday, March 12, the company revealed in a statement.

Vitaly Robertus was 54, and praised in the statement as ”a talented leader, a versatile person, and a sympathetic comrade.”

But Robertus may have killed himself. Several Telegram channels reviewed by Newsweek reported Thursday, March 14 that he was found “hanged” in his office.

“Before his death, he allegedly complained of headaches,” the ASTRA channel claimed.

But former Ukrainian government adviser Anton Gerashchenko cited an unnamed “source” who said Senior Vice President Oleg Pashaev found Robertus’s body in a private bathroom after knocking on his office door.

“Robertus was complaining that Pashaev was stalking him and making his life difficult,” Gerashchenko posted on X (formerly Twitter).

When first responders arrived, “employees told them that the atmosphere at Lukoil has been very stressful recently and the vice-president was very nervous,” Gerashchenko added.

A separate post by Gerashchenko claimed gasoline prices across Russia are at a six-month high, due to Ukrainian drone attacks damaging oil depots that Knewz.com has documented. Gas exports reportedly have been banned since Friday, March 1.

The Sun tabloid noted from Britain that Robertus worked for Lukoil for more than 30 years. He also was a champion at designing and flying model planes.

But Kremlin-watchers wonder if there’s a deadly trend, since three other top officials at Lukoil have died since Russia attacked Ukraine 25 months ago.

Front Page Detectives reported in October 2023 on the death of Lukoil chairman of the board Vladimir Nekrasov at his home. That death at 66 was blamed on “acute heart failure.”

Before that, Knewz.com covered the most suspicious-looking Lukoil death in the summer of 2022.

Chairman Ravil Maganov, 67, reportedly fell out of a hospital window “following a severe illness.” He was a patient on the sixth floor of Moscow’s top-level Central Clinical Hospital.

Former Lukoil executive Alexander Subbotin, 43, died in May 2022. That was blamed on a heart attack, but rumors in Russia claim he was poisoned with toad venom provided by a shaman in a “Jamaican voodoo ritual.”

Why might the Kremlin have something against Lukoil and its officials?

One theory is that Lukoil called for negotiations to end the violence against Ukraine. While Knewz.com has noted Russian officials are accepting that view now, it was once considered a sign of disloyalty to President Vladimir Putin.

But if the suicide explanation for Robertus is true, it would not be unlike recent deaths of executives in the United States.

CNN recalled the co-founder of Dave & Buster’s entertainment centers apparently died by suicide in early 2023. The chief executive of Atlanta’s MARTA transportation system killed himself in early 2022, according to WAGA-TV.

A branch of Lukoil operates gas stations in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. It purchased what was known as Getty Oil in 2000.

Former President Donald Trump appeared in a Florida courtroom on Thursday to appeal his classified documents case,while citing Special Counsel Robert Hur’s decision not to bring charges against sitting President Joe Biden.

Hur’s report showed that Joe Biden not only willfully and intentionally mishandled classified documents, stored them in multiple insecure locations, and procured them while Senator and Vice President, but he also misled federal investigators, obstructed justice, and divulged national security secrets.

Biden’s leaks of classified information are deemed to be so serious that the Intelligence Community is now performing a “damage assessment” to ascertain the extent they compromised national security.

Judge Cannon on Thursday, as reported by legal analyst Julie Kelly, took a wrecking ball to the Department of Justice’s case against Donald Trump.

Cannon pressed both defense and Special Counsel to explain when the "crime" of willful retention of national defense information begins–she noted the date in Jack Smith's indictment as to when Trump first violated the Espionage Act.

“Robert Hur report and testimony is the biggest elephant in the room,” Kelly noted. “The term ‘arbitrary enforcement’ used frequently by both the defense and Judge Aileen Cannon.”

“Cannon hammered thefact no former president or vice president has been charged under Espionage Actfor taking and keeping classified records including national defense information–which represents 32 counts against Trump in Jack Smith’s indictment,” she continued.

“Prediction: Cannon won’t dismiss the case based on the motions debated today–vagueness of Espionage Act and protection under the Presidential Records Act,” she added.“But it’s very likely she will dismiss the case based on selective prosecution, a motion still pending before her,” she stated.

Kelly provided more information on the courtroom developments.

• “She added ‘vice president’ on numerous occasions for a reason–Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Mike Penceall skated on criminal charges,” Kelly went on. “Trump is the only one who has not.”

•“Cannon: ‘Arbitrary enforcement… is featuring in this case’. Cannon also addressed the ‘foreseeability’ as to Trump’s awareness he was committing a crime by keeping classified/national defense information,” she added.

• “Given the constellation of what happened before”–meaning no criminal prosecution of former presidentsincluding Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan and vice presidents–Cannon suggested Trump could have reasonably expected he was in the clear,” she went on.

That is as clear a signal that the Trump classified documents case is in peril as could have arisen out of the day’s courtroom proceedings. While both cases may contain elements of technical illegalities,Donald Trump’s case is far less egregious than Joe Biden’s, given the fact Trump was a sitting president with ultimate declassification authority; he stored the documents at Mar-a-Lago, his authorized presidential office away from the White House; and he has further protection by the Presidential Records Act.

Thus, in the event of a “guilty” verdict in the Trump case, it will be a case of “selective and vindictive prosecution” — as blatant a case of election interference in U.S. history. A Trump guilty verdict would thus be a political outcome subverting the will of American voters. It would be the true “attack on democracy” that the Democratic Party is dishonestly protesting about, while it interferes in America’s elections and compromises institutions such as the rule of law.

If Judge Cannon dismissed the Trump classified documents case with prejudice, it would be a true victory for “democracy.”

President Biden’s former ghostwriter, who become a key figure in Special Counsel Robert Hur’s investigation into Biden’s handling of classified documents, was spotted on the street in New York City shortly after Hur testified before Congress.

In photos first reported by New York Post and obtained by Fox News Digital, Biden ghostwriter Mark Zwonitzer was seen walking the streets of Manhattan’s Upper West Side wearing sneakers, a button-down shirt, and jacket alongside an unidentified woman around 7 p.m. Tuesday night.

The pair dined at Bustan NYC on Amsterdam Ave before returning home around 8:15 p.m., according to the Post.

Zwonitzer’s appearance came just hours after Hur testified before Congress about the Biden document case and explained why he ultimately did not file charges against Biden in a case where Zwonitzer has become a prominent figure.

At his State of the Union address, Joe Biden tried — and failed — to ‘say her name.’ He botched Laken Riley’s name, twice, by calling her “Lincoln Riley” (a college football coach, by the way) and then downplayed the significance of her death.

He even apologized for calling the inhumane animal who bashed in Riley’s head while she was jogging near the University of Georgia an “illegal.”

Tonight, former President Donald Trump not only said Laken Riley’s name correctly, but he gave Joe Biden a lesson on how to be humane towards a grieving family.

Trump demanded justice for the 22-year-old nursing student, who was slain by a Venezuelan migrant named Jose Ibarra whom the Biden administration refused to deport.

Trump delivered a strong statement on behalf of Laken Riley in front of a Rome, Georgia campaign rally and with Riley’s parents in attendance.

“Laken Riley would be alive today if Joe Biden had not willfully and maliciously eviscerated the borders of the United States and set loose thousands and thousands of dangerous criminals into our country,” Trump said.

“To her family tonight, I promise you, I will demand justice for Laken,” he said as the crowd applauded. “Justice for Laken,” he emphatically repeated.

Donald Trump also comforted Laken Riley’s family. Tonight Donald Trump met with Laken Riley’s family and consoled them. Also tonight, Joe Biden went on TV and apologized for calling the man who did it an illegal.

Program Description

The Private Security Camera Incentive Program, administered by the Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants (Office), creates a rebate for residents, businesses, nonprofits, and religious institutions to purchase and install security camera systems on their property and register them with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). The program provides a rebate of up to $200 per camera, with a maximum rebate of up to $500 per residential address and $750 for all other addresses. This program is intended to help deter crime and assist law enforcement with investigations.

The camera system must have been purchased and installed on the property after September 22, 2015 and before all available funds are expended. The camera also must be registered with the Metropolitan Police Department. The amount of the rebate shall not be more than the cost of the purchase of the camera system. Decades of animal research point to serious health risks from cellphone radiation exposure, but examining a possible link stops now.

The National Toxicology Program (NTP), tasked with studying potential toxins, recently announced it would no longer investigate evidence that cellphone radiation can harm animals or people. The move stunned scientists like Devra Davis, a former senior adviser to the assistant secretary for Health in the Department of Health and Human Services, who called the abrupt reversal scientifically unjustified.

There’s “no scientific explanation or justification for this sudden reversal,” Ms. Davis told The Epoch Times.

Unpublished NTP Research Undermines Decision to Halt Cellphone Radiation Studies

The NTP recently claimed that additional radiofrequency radiation (RFR) studies are not planned, stating the research was “technically challenging and more resource-intensive than expected.”

Ms. Davis criticized this decision, noting that technical challenges are not a reason to avoid studying something that appears to cause cancer in animals. “Everything that we know for sure causes cancer in people will produce it in animals when adequately studied,” she added.

Despite admitting to developing a novel small-scale RFR exposure system in 2019 to clarify earlier findings, the NTP canceled further investigations. This system only studied older 2G and 3G devices, not newer 4G or 5G technologies.

Ms. Davis, a former NTP advisor, said she helped recommend smaller test chambers. The agency takes years to plan studies, so scrapping this project is “beyond my comprehension at this point,” given millions of children’s daily exposure, she noted.

In an emailed statement, the NTP confirmed that although work on the small-scale exposure system and accompanying research has been completed, the results will be publicly available and posted on the agency’s webpage only “when internal reviews are finished.” As of this writing, the 2019 research remains unpublished.

Peter Gammons, a former Boston Red Sox beat writer who also worked for ESPN, ripped Aaron Rodgers Thursday after the New York Jets quarterback denied a report he spread Sandy Hook conspiracy theories.

Rodgers pushed back on the claim in a post on X.

"As I’m on the record saying in the past, what happened in Sandy Hook was an absolute tragedy," Rodgers wrote. "I am not and have never been of the opinion that the events did not take place.

"Again, I hope that we learn from this and other tragedies to identify the signs that will allow us to prevent unnecessary loss of life. My thoughts and prayers continue to remain with the families affected along with the entire Sandy Hook community."

Gammons raged at Rodgers’ post.

"Hopefully we never hear from you again and maybe there’s a team in Dharah, Hungary for you to play and spout vile to your full hatred," he wrote in response.

The issue originated with a CNN report in which Rodgers was accused of sharing Sandy Hook shooting conspiracy theories in a conversation with CNN anchor Pamela Brown at the 2013 Kentucky Derby. Another source was also cited accusing Rodgers of making claims "several years ago."

The report dropped after Rodgers was named a possible running mate for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s independent presidential campaign.

Rodgers hasn’t commented on that speculation.

In September 2023, Biden claimed that he wouldn’t be “worried about a strike” from United Auto Workers “until it happens.”

Once it happened the UAW’s leadership claimed it has been sounding a “string of alarms” about the Biden admin’s push toward electric vehicles, and had criticized the closure of older gasoline-vehicle factories.

According to the UAW, Biden’s green energy policies, that have been welcomed by climate activists, “failed to protect workers in the car industry.”

In 2022, Stellantis ended production at a 58-year-old Jeep factory and laid off roughly 1,200 workers after it could not be converted to an electric vehicle facility.

EV production has made Midwestern communities that manufacture gas-powered engines and transmissions particularly vulnerable to layoffs.

Workers at new battery manufacturing facilities, one owned by Ultium Cells, were being paid “roughly half” the starting salary of what GM workers used to get paid at one former gasoline-car plant in Lordstown, Ohio.

According to a regional director for the UAW, David Green, some electric vehicle workers were “working two jobs to get by.”

At the time, UAW President Shawn Fain said Biden needs to, “address concerns about the auto industry’s transition to all-electric vehicles, including concerns about job security, pay and organizing.”

According to Fain, the Biden administration had “actively” funded a “race to the bottom” in wages and benefits “with billions in public money.”

The UAW strike had a massive impact on the overall U.S. economy, with economic losses totaling over $10.4 billion.

Through Oct. 26, the end of the sixth full week of the strike, the Anderson Economic Groups estimate that OEM Workers lost $650 million in wages, Detroit 3 Manufacturers lost $4.3 billion in revenue, supplier companies and workers lost $3.3 billion in wages and revenue, and dealers, customers, and ancillary auto industry workers lost $2 billion.

Despite U.S. investments from the Inflation Reduction Act, China is massively undercutting domestic EV sales and holds an estimated $10,000 cost advantage per vehicle.

According to The Washington Post, a “fifth of China’s EV models were priced below $15,000 last year” whereas the cheapest EV in the U.S. today is GM’s Chevy Bolt, at about $27,000.

According to Axios, many of the minerals essential to EV battery production are primarily mined and processed in China.

China has positioned itself to “control a third of the world's lithium supply by 2025.”

According to Suzanne Clark, President and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the UAW strike and the “summer of strikes” was the “natural result of the Biden administration’s ‘whole of government’ approach to promoting unionization at all costs.”

According to PEW Research, half of U.S. adults say they are not too or not at all likely to consider purchasing an EV.

59 percent of Americans oppose the idea of phasing out the production of new gas-powered vehicles by 2035.

Only 9 percent of U.S. adults currently own an electric vehicle.

A power blackout forced Venezuela's largest refining complex, the 955,000-barrel-per-day (bpd) Paraguana Refining Center, to shut down on Thursday, five sources close to its operations said.

Power outages frequently hit Venezuela's aging refineries and oil terminals, suspending the OPEC country's crude processing and exports and causing domestic fuel scarcity.

"There was an electrical problem, which even left the city without power," one of the sources said.

Technicians from state company PDVSA, which operates the complex, were called to a meeting to coordinate action, another source said.

Crude processing from four distillation units at Paraguana, located on the country's west coast and essential for domestic fuel supply, was at about 200,000 bpd before the blackout, according to another source.

A smaller refinery, the 187,000-bpd Puerto la Cruz, remained in service on Thursday, while most plants at the 146,000-bpd El Palito are halted due to planned maintenance.

Was looking at the ranch property online where Angela Chao died. Got into google maps and started having a look around the satellite view. It's on Miller's Creek. And a lot of the properties in the area have put dams on Miller's Creek to create ponds. The Chao property has two of them. Anon remembers reading, less than a year ago, an article about some people were pretty mad that these rich people were buying land in the Austin area and damming up creeks to create these very same type of water features on their property. Don't remember if Miller's Creek was mentioned as being one or not. But the point was that their might be some question about the permitting and legality of doing this on your property. Seems like the story some rich fucks had just gone ahead and done it anyway. And some people were pretty mad about it. Anyway, started wondering who or what might be affected downstream on Miller's Creek and whatever waterway it fed into. So started zooming out on google maps and was shocked to see that Miller's Creek feeds into the Pedernales River just upstream of Pedernales Falls State Park. Anon just does not understand how these dams on Miller's Creek were ever even allowed to exist in the first place given their location and the fact that they feed directly into a gorgeous Texas State treasure like Pedernales Falls State Park. Have persoanlly been there many years ago and it is just amazing to behold. I guess if you have enough money you can pretty much do whatever you want to though. Zuckerburg in Hawaii is one example that comnes to mind. It's really sad the double standards that are allowed to exist in our society.
