I read what Zelensky wrote here in response to the public debate….

But…. let's get some facts straight.
America is not willing to fight a direct war with Russia for Ukraine's sake (risking outright nuclear world war). Our votes count and We The People voted to end these wars. Therefore America is not willing to blindly agree to Security Guarantees (boots on the ground) without a full Peace Deal between Russia and Ukraine signed and in place. That's not going to happen, it does not have the support of the American People or this administration. Zelensky is going to be forced to compromise. There will be no NATO for them, they might have to accept territorial loss too. War is ugly. Ukraine was near a Peace Deal with Russia in Istanbul a few years ago but *it was Zelensky who decided to abandon the Peace Deal because of Joe Biden and Boris Johnson. That's his own fault for trusting those corrupt clowns, it was not Russia's fault nor is it our fault either, Zelensky trusted corrupt clowns and Ukraine paid a very hard price for doing so. Trump is not a clown, he is a real leader, a peacemaker. If Zelensky cannot trust Trump and his administration to help Ukraine get a good peace deal with Russia, then he should not trust us with anything anymore. This is the best America is willing to provide at our expense at this time. It's a hard deal. Take it, or leave it.
