>Gosh darn it why are you fags trying to innovate?

>Winglets banned from moto GP starting with the 2017 season

Frankly I think there ought to be a special trophy for constructors that succeed so tremendously they force governing bodies to ban their new tech because they make everyone else look so bad.

That's why F1 is so shit and has been on a downward spiral since the end of the 70s, though it's only been the last 10 years or so when it really took a nosedive. The second a team innovates, the FIA cockblock them. And even when they win fair and square like in the case of Ferrari's early 2000s domination, if they win too much they'll change shit anyway. Can't have another team beat them at their own game when they're still at the top!

>Oh, you discovered that more tires = better grip on the whole?

>Fuck you Tyrrell, only 4 wheeled cars allowed in F1 from now on

>What's that, Brabham? A fan that sucks your car to the ground provides a huge advantage with regards to grip levels and tire wear?

>We're not letting you get away with that shit you cunt, remove that cheat device from the next race onwards!

>Brabham, why is your car still sticking to the ground even without that fan? And why does the Lotus appear to do the same?

>That's it, the decision is final, no more ground effects for any team!

>Honda, we heard your qualifying turbocharged engines were dangerously close to breaking the 2000hp barrier, can you tell us if this is true or not?

>From 1988, all cars must have only naturally aspirated powerplants.

>Williams, you fags, you didn't let anyone else WIN in 1992. Who the fuck came up with the idea of putting computers inside an F1 car?

>From the second you cross the finish line the last time your car will be deemed illegal by FIA standards because of all the gizmos giving you, Mansell, and that gay jew Patrese all the podiums.

>I found your cheaty fucking TC Benetton, and your advanced fuel loading system. Don't you know you gotta bend over and take the Ferclariams' dick instead of trying to beat them?

>What are these gay ass tower and nose wings you fucks are putting on your cars? Why must I keep telling you that you're not allowed to have any unorthodox aerodynamic advantage over the competition?

>Fucking hell lads, these Ferraris won't stop winning, better change most of the rules to put them at a disadvantage! And no more tobacco advertising either! Small teams have got to earn their money the hard way!

Tobacco advertising was banned because nanny states lobbied very hard to get it banned. The current Turbo-hybrids are in because MUH GREENWASHING

BTW, get ready to see alcohol banned because having beer logos in race cars apparently causes drunk driving if you believe nanny-statists.

And even without looking back this far, just look at all the measures taken between 2010 and 2013 to stop RB from winning culminating in the godawful double points final round.

I wanna see F1 cars with a billion wings, complicated blown diffs, all the driving aids you can imagine, intricate power plants, everything. Make them the actual top of crop instead of pretend limiting them with bullshit regs.

Hell I'm pretty sure the V6T would be enjoyable if they could develop them and not be restricted. Lots of potential power there, and at least people would be able to catch Merc. But no. You either bring the best package to round 1 or get raped the whole season. As much as it's funny to see Honda engines blowing up, it starts to get a bit old and considering how far they've gone since 2015 one can just wonder how further they'd be if they had unlimited development.

No doubt the shit I mentioned is the reason why only 3 of the, at one point 6 "Original" F1 teams are still competing. BRM ended in 1977 after all its sponsorship deals got stolen and they could no longer keep the team afloat, whereas Lotus and Brabham both died with whimpers in 1992. You keep stifling creativity, and you get stagnation. It's a simple thing that the FIA doesn't seem to understand the concept of. Then you have to put in some artificial enhancements that do nothing but make everything easier and less competitive, as is the case with KERS and DRS.

Whenever discussion of FIA regulations come up it's always repeated that they're necessary because without regulations then only the most absurdly rich teams would be able to compete.

Wouldn't then a budget cap achieve the exact same end result?

How awesome wouldn't it be to see six wheelers racing against ground effect cars? Why exactly would it be a bad thing for cars to have 2000hp?

I understand the idea of a budget cap. But it is incompatible with high end shit, with pushing the limits of what's possible and definitely not with brand new regulations shuffling everything.

In the end more regs means the rich teams can afford to have people reading them for weeks trying to find loopholes to gain an advantage while the poor teams are stuck with whatever they have.

Also I just learnt Williams tested a CVT and it got insta banned without even undergoing a single race weekend.

Probably so much better than a standard gearbox other teams shat their pants and lobbied the FIA

In addition, here's a reminder that the FIA artificially shortened Mitsubishi's dominance (and by proxy, competitive period) in the WRC as they were the only team to realize that a homologated race version of one of their road cars was, get this, better at rallying than a generic chassis that had little to nothing in common with anything a dealership sold.

We finally have more manufacturers at the top level of competition but never forget for several years it was just Ford and Citroen.

Technically they built the Veyron :^)

Designed in Germany but the company is still French.

Also weren't the Group B homologation cars faster than this?
