I pulled the trigger on a '18 RF GT LE today. About 2 weeks until I pick it up from the dealer. Looking forward to it - was great fun to drive.

I've already reported myself. I went with the RF as I'm not a classic convertible fan, and was always after a hardtop Miata and the RF scratched that itch. Plus the BBS and Brembo package the LE gave was icing on the cake.

If you're gonna spend in upwards of 30k dollarydoos on a new Miata, why not bump up a year to a 19 with the punchier engine while you're at it?
and when will Mazda make an infotainment screen that doesn't literally stick out like someone glued a tablet to the dash?

I got ~$10k off the RRP as the dealer had it sitting there for 12 months so, I think, it was a good deal. The 'infotainment' system looks like it'd be completely in the way but actually isn't that bad when you're in there driving. I thought it was going to be annoying but I didn't get distracted by it once.

Oh I hope convertibles aren't your thing if you got the RF!
Though that deal you got plus the package is telling you've had a bargain. I believe you're in the US and as such there isn't anything else you could have gotten for that price and these specs.

Shit, not a bad deal then. I'm waiting til the first '19s come off their 2 year leases and snatch one for hopefully sub $15k, assuming the engines prove to be as reliable as the old 1.8s do long term. I'm maybe a week from rolling over 150k on my '96 and she runs like a top.

Never been a massive fan of convertibles, so the RF is just what I was after. I'm sure every now and then I'll retract the roof for shits and giggles, but it's definitely not going to be a common occurrence. From my understanding, there are only 110 Limited Edition (LE) models that were released here, so it really was a steal. It's basically the RF GT model with 17-inch BBS alloy wheels, the Brembo brake pack, Bilstein shocks with revised springs, a more aerodynamic body styling kit (which is quite modest but looks really aesthetic), a strut tower brace and Recaro seats. I'm pretty sure our LE is the RS version that Japan got.
