on a basic level they burn up a lot of oil so you need to change oil way sooner than on a normal engine. You also need to take care of the tips of the triangles inside. That's all I can say for sure. And I don't trust people enough to trust they kept it fed with oil. I just picture some older guy thinking they're telling him that to "scam" him into buying more oil or something and only adding more every 5-6k miles.

The logic of your average LS-swapping redditor is equivalent to that of the modern leftist. Don't expect anything intelligent to ever come out of their mouth and/or keyboard.
As a side note, I wonder if it's possible to calculate how much more expensive it has become to repair or replace a certain engine purely because of all the automotive cultmarxists trashing them in favor of a soulless GM lump that "just werx". To be honest I really can't see how one can derive enjoyment from driving what is tantamount to a Corvette but with a different body and suspension.

The 25 year importation law was a mistake. It should have been 50.
There's a saying, not exactly verbatim, but it's to the same effect.
"In order to afford one Ferrari, you must be able to afford two Ferraris."
i.e. the one Ferrari will cost you so much in keeping it on the road, maintenance and repair that it will eventually exceed the original value of what you paid for the car, and if you didn't have that much disposable income to begin with, you'll soon find yourself in economic dire straits.
The same applies for a car with an unconventional engine, not just a rotary, but anything that's rare or expensive to repair/replace nowadays. Can't afford the repair bills? Don't own it. A car is not a status symbol. There are many other vehicles which appeal to your level of expertise and mechanical knowledge that are in the same price and/or historic bracket. AE86s double their value every day thanks to Initial D, and they're a literally a Corolla in drag all the way down to the chassis. Starions have the 4G63, which as you may know was Mitsubishi's performance engine for over 25 years, from the Evo 0 (Lancer Turbo) through to the Evo 9.
>It's perfectly ok to put an electric battery in an E-Type because the XK6 is a notoriously bad engine to deal with
You are on the same level as the cucks that gut old electronics and stuff a Raspberry Pi in there because it's "cute" and/or "quirky". Much like a white woman who whored her pussy out for a nigger, it doesn't matter how "clean" you keep a car with a different engine than the one it was manufactured with. Even if you took something like a classic 911, shoved a battery/LS in the back, rebuilt the interior to be more "ergonomic" and "comfy" (i.e. faggy and modern), and installed the inevitable self-driving conversion kit that will probably be forced on the rest of us come 2030, then you will get mercilessly lowballed by any true enthusiast you tried to sell that piece of shit mutt of a car to. No one cares that it's mechanically sound when it's a mongrelized mashup of different cars.
Here's a good real life example; the AMG 300SL. For 10 years AMG offered an upgrade to any owner of a classic 300SL. 11 people took the bait. Original SLs sell at auction for 1.2 million apiece. The last time this thing hit auction it reached only 800k. Despite being superior in every conceivable performance factor. Despite being more reliable. Despite being made from more exotic materials like carbon fibre. And above all, despite being significantly rarer. Because believe it or not, that's exactly how much it's worth. Turns out when you shit all over a classic with your "improvements", you reap the rewards. And that's a 300SL, the creme de la creme of automobiles. Mass-produced japshit from an era prior to its peak desirability (same goes for the likes of the A70 Supra and R31 Skyline) will have no chance, not even in 50 years. Faggot ricers already had their rude awakening when it turns out 20k of upgrades doesn't magically add 20k worth of value. Retrofitters will have theirs too. That 80 year old jalopy being held together by thin strings of rust is worth more than the "restoration" where the only original part that remains is the chassis.
>Good thing console games are meh to crap so nothing of value would be lost, even if for some insane reason I decided to buy/look for a weakass 20 year old computer.

Working on the car and putting your time into it; driving it into the ground and getting as many good times and miles out of it as possible.
I don't buy my car to re-sell it, I bought it so I can drive it until it ultimately dies, and I strip the steering wheel from it and find a car of the same model and get back to driving. Some (in my opinion) of the best looking cars came out of the worst era in automobile engines and to needlessly struggle with failing old tech that no one but I will use is dumb. We're talking about computers that can hardly run a fuel/air mix to 4k RPMs and rats nests of wires inside crumbling plastic.

Like okay dude if you want to eat shit then go ahead, I heard the (((chosen))) like that sort of thing anyway. Just don't get pissed if none of us want to join you.
>w-why you criticize m-muh solution ;_;
Because it's a reddit-tier solution, as I highlighted in the original post. Only people I've ever seen discussing LS swaps are redditors. Because they are mechanically inept soyboys who only want a car for the image, not for what it is. It's why they always send their car to a garage instead of wrenching on it themselves. Because learning how a car works does not interest them. All they want is sparkle and vroom.
On reddit leasing a brand-new Mazda 3 is considered a god-tier move for whenever you want a first car, a daily driver (i.e. you can't afford/are too scared to drive your real car on a daily basis), or something your pussywhipper wife that cucks you insists on having you drive so she can give the keys to your Dad's Firebird to Jamal every weekend. Over here you are rightfully laughed at for throwing thousands of dollars down the drain on something that will never recuperate its manufacturing cost in 100 years, will most likely break down for good within 10, and will become totally obsolete by 15. And what for, because it's "clean"? Because you don't have to worry about anything going wrong?

I think you misunderstand what "drive it into the ground" means as well as engine swapping. Until the frame and body squeaks with every touch from metal stress. At that point, I'll forgo any idea of noise reduction and apply some zoomie headers and a blower and keep going. I'm going to use engines that were OEM equipment for that car model because I don't want to be reliant on proprietary parts, plus the LS swap is so hilariously overdone that it's not even interesting. Give me the cast iron blocks and fuck off with those (current year) factory ECU/computers please. Swapping an LS in is too easy, I want to get my hands dirty with an old truck engines and rebuild it to greatness.

>It's casual to have issue with a lemon.
>Implying the issue is criticism not an autistic REEEEEEEEEEEEEE! fit.
>when you quoted my greentext about a shitty, planned obsolescent monitor and replied akin to "yeah, so what?" as though you owned something like that
>Lest we forget, it was your tardrage that brought your PC specs into the argument to begin with.
You're not gonna weasel out of this one boy, here's the chain of events.

Eventually you'll be the guy that takes an Xbox dev rig and wipes what may have been the last surviving examples of crucial development files that could have greatly helped out the emulation scene.

Good thing console games are meh to crap so nothing of value would be lost, even if for some insane reason I decided to buy/look for a weakass 20 year old computer.
From >>17813 (Yours)
Got it, so you're one of those insufferable kikes that try to shill your failing company's shitty flatscreens whenever there's a CRT thread. The anons with PVMs and Trinitrons will still be enjoying their games long after your obsolescent 4D 8K curved screen Smart OLED that cost you $2000 out of your wagecuck fund becomes a 9th generation can of Pepsi.

This is what I'm using, infact it's the first and so far only computer I've bought, runs all the games I play just fine.

I see you can't read, so I'm not gonna read yours.
Now we're back here.
>And if you're gonna criticize mine being hard to read
YOU COULDN'T READ A FILENAME
So as a result of that I'm not "required" to reciprocate that courtesy for your post.
Now do ya understand dumbshit?
>out of arguments, he just begins to spam politically fuelled images with no rhyme or reason
You claim I'm a cultural marxist because I don't hold the engine equivalent of communism in high regard/worth keeping.
>since you openly wish to destroy not only white culture, but the culture of our greatest ally, Japan.
Not what I said but cute interpretation weeb.
>they're exploiting you and your machine for free thanks to the vulnerability they successfully hid in over 20 years' worth of hardware. Dump that Jewish trash at once.
Same as AMD, and no I'm not junking somethings that WORKS (have I mentioned that's the complete polar opposite to cultural marxism/communism enough?, or do I need to keep hammering it in?) to go chasing after /tech/s latest and dankest meme hardware/software that'll TOTALLY keep glow niggers out of your stuff.

The big question is what is the attraction that gay men have to rotary engines.

Most of the ones around I see around here have seen better days. If I had to take a guess they're the older early 2000 ones and might have been outdoor cars and drove in the winter.

I never really understood that meme. The only people I see driving them are kids in their early 20's who want a good, cheap FR car and boomers who bought them new who couldn't afford a Corvette or Mustang.

S2000 isn't a meme.
It's a good car, a good convertible.
It looks like a modern Miata without the modern car stink and it's also not shameful to make a track car out of it.
