I know this thread is a shitpost but…
It's strange that there aren't that many female racing drivers in motorsports. You'd think with recent times women would want to force themselves into this hobby as well.
But it seems like, they utterly ignore it.
I don't think there's a gender barrier in motorsports.
Even a mentally ill 30 year old transgender scat fetishist furry could drive a race car given that they train.
Hell, even a child could learn to drive a car if they can reach the pedals.
I do have have an answer to this already probably, I just don't wanna believe it for the sake of this argument (and because it makes my fate in humanity drop even more).

Well, the simple truth is that equality activists are the only ones caring about the subjects they preach about.
They pester "x hobby" until the fans of the hobby give in to their demands but after that still nobody new cares about picking the hobby up and the hobby molesters move on.
Kinda like with video games. "Journalists/Activist only complain about video games, they don't play them."
However, for my previous post, I wanted people to give other ideas than this one, cause this answer is painfully obvious.

tl;dr is that driving cars is seen as a male thing to do because guys drive, crash and die in cars more commonly than women.
Which makes the authors assume that cars are an extension of male ego because auto manufacturers also pander to men more than women (cause the latter always failed).
I like one sentence from the paper that reads something like "Will the male be able to perform masculinity in a car without driving it?"
Just like true feminist propaganda, it sometimes accidentally asks good questions like about perceived gender equality where in most official videos, women are seen as mere passengers and driving cars is presented as this male thing. But then it goes and points out that the couple shown in the Nissan IDS showcase video is not gay and interracial enough. It's laughable.
Then it arrives to the conclusion that no, autonomous vehicles won't empower women inside them because that's not how this shit works.

The whole paper is pointless.
It can be summed up as:
"Car manufacturers should put more women driving cars in their videos."
I guess they aren't listening to them and thought writing it concisely in a paper which appears scientific would make them listen.
