…and at what age did you realize you will never own it?
Pics very much related. NFS3 on the PS1 was my first game ever. It might have single-handedly made me into a car guy. And of course that yellow Diablo SV was always on my mind for as long as I can remember.
Unfortunately with car prices skyrocketing
<and the fact that I am a total fucking loser
I realized that I'll never get the chance to have my very own SV. At this point I'm lucky na MR2s are relatively cheap, for now.

2012 Dodge Charger. I knew very little of cars, because I lived in a third world country. We know what cars are and how to drive them, and we know rich people have them, and that's it. But when some guy on a site called MLP Forums did this thing where he'd put pony-themed colours and patterns on cars, I asked him to do one for a pony OC I made to fit in, and he did it.
And I saw the coolest car I'd ever seen.
2012. Dodge. Charger. Painted up in awesome colours. Speed over 200 mph, and an awesome number of horsepowers.

HA! I am almost you.
993 Turbo, saw on the very related NFS from PS1 as well. That glorious digitalized sound of a fucking air cooled turbo charged six cylinders, man, I was in love and knew from that moment: that's my life time goal.
Now at age 25 I have a 2012 Cayman S, it's fun, have that subtle reminder of the flat six working with air and dirty cheap if we compare to the 993 turbo these days… But I don't know, maybe, MAYBE, some day.

When I was little, I wanted a 1982 Porsche 911 in dark gray. As a teenager, I liked the Murcielago, but so did every other teenager on the planet.
I ended up getting an 82 Porsche as an adult, though it's a 924. Even better than the 911, it has pop-ups.

This probably isn't the thread for sharing our shitboxes, so I'll spoiler.
The paint code is actually for a dark gray with metal flake, but the previous owner did a shit job painting it red with a rattle can. Oversprayed absolutely everywhere. Want to take it back to factory color.

Shit's ridiculous
As for me, idk, I never really had a dream car for some reason, can't even find myself to list favorites because I like many cars based on their quirks and so on. Probably because I got into cars when I was already old and bitter.
But the closest I guess would right now probably be the Skoda Fabia R5.
I've wanted Skoda to finally splurge a bit and make a sports car for years but they've only made balls deep scaffolding racers and refuse to make street sports cars.
Recently they announced they'd make a limited production Fabia R5 for the road but it ended up just being a regular Fabia with green wheels.
What a letdown.

Škoda brand is not supposed to associate itself with anthing remotely fast, there is a reason why they outsell any VW on the market. They are the dailiest daily cars you can have. And damn, they are great for that. Also they look less terrible than VW.

They've improved a lot since VW acquired them.
And they do have potential for speed, see the 130RS and the "Ferat" Prototype.
I know Skoda is supposed to be the boring commute brand but they are wasted potential.
But I guess that comes with being an affordable car maker in the 2010s in Central Europe.

The Ferat does remind one a lot of the Delorean, though it preceded even the original Italdesign concept of that by 5 years and the similarities are most likely coincidental given that many companies were experimenting with wedge-shaped designs for their concept cars during the 70s. That said, it's almost jaw-dropping how far ahead of its time the Ferat was in terms of styling; they could've sold that as a brand new car (with a necessarily adjusted rear-end and passenger entry system) a full 10 years later and nobody would've batted an eyelid. The fact it came from a Skoda that was still very much wrapped tightly around the claws of communism makes it all the more impressive.

That's how it usually goes, if a car is too forward thinking it's usually a failure.

Played a lot of Test Drive 6 when I was a kid then later played NFS Most Wanted, and I always went for the Dodge Viper and painted it a dark blue with double white stripes. I don't think I'll ever own one, but what I can say is that I will always love this 2000 Camaro Z28 with navy blue paint that once belonged to my mother. It's been with us ever since she bought it factory new from a dealer way back when, and only recently I can say it's mine. I'll take care of this car, even if it kills me.

they came in 4 auto, 5 and 6 manual depending on engine choice, the usual GM offerings. Luckily, they're so similar to the 3rd gen F-bodies that the t-56 swaps over/parts can be found with ease for some extra highway mileage plus an utterly bullet proof and simple transmission. If you have a 4th gen with a t-56, hold onto that baby, because a literal monkey could fix that tranny up, and the LS1 or 1st gen SBC are both bullet proof engines with excessive aftermarket. The car will rattle apart well before the drivetrain breaks, except maybe the rear end if you enjoy burnouts.
