Where I am they're paid to the km, so sometimes they do detours to raise their wages, but they have a fixed income which is higher than their percentage they get to the km so they'd rather drive fast and take a lot of passenger than drive slow. The only drivers that drive past me are mostly taxi drivers where I live.

I get that driving at 60 could be annoying in summers, but once snow falls here only trucks drive at 90. Highway speeds drop to 80 and country asphalt roads drop to 60 or under. Country dirt roads remain at stable 100km/h at any season, because pretending to be a rally driver in snow gets only better.

I won't defend the European car thing but in the case of BMWs it's partially the car's fault. But the sort of people who drive them are absolutely nosy rubberneckers, which just makes things so much worse.
If you ever get a chance to drive a (modern) BMW, you'll realize that the turn signals are computer-controlled, and will basically only blink for a fraction of a second if you're changing lanes. They only stay on for any noticeable period of time if you're sitting still, and even then…
Oh, and the circuits are wired in to the rest of the bulbs. If even one of your lights on one side goes out, it ruins the blinker timing and because incredibly fast-paced. It's obnoxious and off-putting. A lot of drivers at this point will forego using them now until they can pay someone to change a lightbulb because they're BMW owners and don't know how to do it themselves. A lot of people who buy them are poor and want a status symbol, and they remember how cool they were in the 80's, so they buy any BMW and then are surprised when they turn out to be trash.
Acceleration is totally broken. You get nothing from the engine and then at the halfway point you get everything. It's basically impossible not to drive slowly right up until you want to pass someone or maneuver and then gun it because there is no area on the pedal that is a polite passing speed.
A lot of the worst behavior really is how the car wants to be driven. It makes it hard to do it any other way. And it's not like the average BMW owner is going to fight their car every second to drive a certain way; they bought a BMW so they could not care and just casually drive everywhere and be noticed.
