I learned manual transmission on my parents' E30 and on a Golf 4. Granted, since then I haven't bothered with MT's much and I'd probably need a weekend to get my mojo back but on the other hand, I'm not missing it at all. City traffic with MT's is pure AIDS and back roads in my area are usually too crowded to have them on your own for hooliganing around.
