The founder and chief executive officer of a California-based company that marketed stem cell-based products allegedly linked to 19 hospitalizations was sentenced today to 36 months in prison following his conviction under the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.

John W. Kosolcharoen, 53, most recently of Orange County, California, pleaded guilty last month in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California to one count of introducing an unapproved new drug into interstate commerce with the intent to defraud and mislead. Kosolcharoen is currently in federal custody on a separate, unconnected conviction. The court set a restitution hearing for Dec. 3.

Yesterday, President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. declared that a major disaster exists in the State of Georgia and ordered Federal aid to supplement State and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by Hurricane Helene beginning on September 24, 2024, and continuing.

The President’s action makes Federal funding available to affected individuals in the counties of Appling, Brooks, Coffee, Columbia, Jefferson, Liberty, Lowndes, Pierce, Richmond, Tattnall, and Toombs.

Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.

Federal funding also is available to State and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work in the counties of Appling, Brooks, Coffee, Columbia, Jefferson, Liberty, Lowndes, Pierce, Richmond, Tattnall, and Toombs.

Finally, Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.

Mr. Kevin A. Wallace, Sr. of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has been appointed to coordinate Federal recovery operations in the affected areas.

Damage assessments are continuing in other areas, and more counties and additional forms of assistance may be designated after the assessments are fully completed.

Residents and business owners who sustained losses in the designated areas can begin applying for assistance at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, or by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362), or by using the FEMA App. Anyone using a relay service, such as video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone service or others, can give FEMA the number for that service.

CVS Health will be reportedly discontinuing 2,900 positions at its establishments across the U.S., following the company’s new plan to reduce costs by $2 billion.

A CVS Health spokesperson spoke with FOX Business in regards to the matter, explaining that the layoffs will mostly affect corporate positions, but not all of the cuts will solely be in the corporate sector.

“Employees whose jobs are part of the reduction will receive severance pay and benefits, including access to outplacement services, the company added,” according to CBS News.

The company’s website states that over 300,000 people work for CVS across its segments, which means the cuts only represent 1% of their workforce.

The spokesperson continued, claiming that the layoffs will not affect front-line jobs in CVS stores, pharmacies, or distribution centers.

“Our industry faces continued disruption, regulatory pressures, and evolving consumer needs and expectations, so it is critical that we remain competitive and operate at peak performance. As we previously disclosed, we’ve embarked on a multi-year initiative to deliver $2 billion in cost savings by reducing expenses and investing in technologies to enhance how we work,” the spokesperson told FOX Business.

CVS “prioritized finding cost savings everywhere we could, including close open job postings” prior to deciding to pursue the layoffs, the company noted.

Back in August, CVS Health CEO Karen Lynch said that the savings would be “driven by further streamlining and optimizing our operations and processes, continuing to rationalize our business portfolio, and accelerating the use of artificial intelligence and automation across the enterprise as we consolidate and integrate platforms.”

RentCafe, a website that allows apartment and house renters to pay their landlords, has seemingly crashed due to an outage, leaving thousands of people unable to pay their rent.

On Tuesday, thousands of people in the U.S. were blocked from being able to pay rent on the first day of the month of October.

Online users in California, New York, Texas, and Colorado have all reported issues, along with other states across the nation.

Although the exact number of people affected is currently unknown, RentCafe has previously reported that it receives over 80 million visits annually.

Meanwhile, online users on Reddit, a social news aggregation, content rating, and forum social network, claimed that they had spoken with their landlords, who maintained that the rent payment website “should be fixed by tomorrow.”

Additionally, other renters were reportedly told by landlords that their payments are not considered late until October 5th, so they still have time to pay, even though the platform is down.

Precision Toxicology, doing business as Precision Diagnostics, has agreed to pay $27 million to resolve alleged violations of the False Claims Act and similar state statutes for billing Medicare, Medicaid and other federal health care programs for medically unnecessary urine drug tests, and for providing free items to physicians who agreed to refer expensive laboratory testing business to Precision. Precision, headquartered in San Diego, is one of the nation’s largest urine drug testing laboratories.

“The Justice Department is committed to ensuring that laboratory tests are ordered based on each patient’s medical needs and not just to increase laboratory profits,” said Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Brian M. Boynton, head of the Justice Department’s Civil Division. “We will not tolerate practices that unnecessarily increase the costs of federal health care programs and result in the misuse of taxpayer funds.”

In the settlement agreement, the United States alleged that Precision systematically billed federal health care programs for excessive and unnecessary urine drug testing from Jan. 1, 2013, through Dec. 31, 2022. In particular, the United States contended that Precision caused physicians to order excessive numbers of urine drug tests, in part through the promotion of “custom profiles,” which were, in effect, standing orders that caused physicians to order a large number of tests without an individualized assessment of each patient’s needs. This practice violated federal health care program rules limiting payment to services that are reasonable and medically necessary for the treatment and diagnosis of an individual patient’s illness or injury.

Helene's path of destruction

Helene slammed into Florida’s Big Bend coastline Thursday night as a Category 4 hurricane, pounding the state with 155-mph gusts and killing at least 13.

Helene moved northeast into Georgia, where it was downgraded to a tropical storm by Friday morning, but winds and floods left 25 dead in the state.

By Friday afternoon, Helene had moved over parts of Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina, where at least 29 died.

Relentless rain drenched Appalachia Friday night, sending floodwaters and mudslides crashing through mountain towns.

In North Carolina, at least 35 people died in the Asheville area, and a tornado injured 15 in Rocky Mount.

Over the weekend, rescuers struggled to clear roads and recover bodies. The death toll is 192 and counting.

The Taft-Hartley Act authorizes the president to temporarily prevent strikes so bargaining parties can try to settle. Biden has said he won’t intervene.

The public has this information because of Tina's brave decision to expose the truth and utilize top qualified expert, Conan Hayes, cyber security expert with security clearances. Judge Barrett did not allow the jury to learn law regarding execution of public duty which entitles Tina to immunity in order to expose the truth and ensure that Mesa County held fair and accurate elections.

Judge Barrett failed to allow Tina to present evidence, and he will be overturned on appeal like he has been in other cases. The constitution requires fair and unbiased trials. After trial, a private investigator learned that one of Tina's jurors was angry and biased and thought Tina cut her phone wires. This did not happen, nor was it ever disclosed to the court, and Tina will likely get a new trial ordered by the court of appeals. Judge Barrett denied her request for a new trial finding "no evidence of prejudice."

Asheville Mayor Esther Manheimer reflected on the impact of Hurricane Helene, saying it would be a “long road to recovery” for the community.

In an interview on FOX News’s Cavuto Live, Manheimer talked about the “unprecedented, catastrophic” natural disaster that comes second in lethality only to Hurricane Katrina.

“I’ve been the mayor here for over 10 years. This is my city. I have never seen it like this,” she said. “It is going to take a long time to dig out so that we are able to rebuild and continue to be the amazing city that we are.”

Hurricane Helene has caused 202 deaths since it made landfall in Florida last week, with over thirty of those deaths in North Carolina and leaving another 600 people missing. In addition to being deadly, Helene has also been financially costly, with damages totaling up to $160 billion largely due to the flooding in southern Appalachia.

President Biden visited Asheville on Wednesday, taking an aerial tour of the hurricane-stricken city. Accompanied by Manheimer, as well as North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper (D), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Deanne Criswell and Homeland Security adviser Liz Sherwood-Randall, Biden shared a photo from the survey on X.

Vice President Harris will travel Saturday to North Carolina to tour the damage from Hurricane Helene, speak to local officials and about federal response to the hurricane. This comes after her visit to Georgia on Wednesday where she visited affected communities and families after Helene as well.

Since before Hurricane Helene made landfall, my Administration has mobilized an intensive Federal response to ensure impacted communities have the resources and support they need. As part of that ongoing commitment, and in response to Governor Cooper’s request for additional support, today I ordered another 500 active-duty troops with advanced technological assets to move into Western North Carolina and assist with the response and recovery efforts. With a total of 1,500 troops now supplementing a robust on-the-ground effort – including more than 6,100 National Guardsmen and more than 7,000 Federal personnel – my Administration is sparing no resource to support families as they begin their road to rebuilding.

Additionally, I have been briefed on Tropical Storm Milton as it strengthens across the Gulf of Mexico and the work my Administration is doing to preposition life-saving resources in advance of the storm. I urge all residents in Florida to listen to local officials and make preparations as needed.

As these communities brace for potentially yet another catastrophic storm, and as part of my Administration’s solemn obligation to stand with impacted communities as they rebuild their lives, we will continue working hand-in-hand with local and state leaders – regardless of political party and no matter how long it takes.

I spoke with this pilot, Marshall Chipley, yesterday about this and ways we could remedy this issue(s).

Multiple independent sources on the ground, and public flight logs, confirm what he's saying happened here actually happened. The flights were turned around in flight due to this and returned to Ohio where they were coming from.

I wasn't going to mention this publicly yet but since he already did I feel comfortable posting his video here.

I also have spoken with several different entities (national & state level politicians, large media organizations, etc…) over the past 24/36 hours since these planes were turned away and exposed what's happening to the public. Wheels are turning behind the scenes but I'd guess nothing will come out publicly until Monday at the earliest because that's how government/media work.

I'll make an update video when I the details are all in place but you should know - all the supplies y'all are donating to the US Veterans Corps for this effort will still be flown into east Tennessee and delivered to the people who need it without further government intervention. I can not say how due to OPSEC (we're literally smuggling aid past/around government organizations) but I can assure you they are still going in and if you continue to drop off aid or donate to that organization it will go forward without interference.

I just got back from North Carolina and Georgia. It’s hard to put into words the complete devastation of so many towns that literally washed away when a wall of water swept thru their town. Unfortunately, there are still many people who are not getting the assistance they need. Their local emergency resources are overwhelmed. A “way ahead” is difficult to comprehend at this moment. The American government is pumping hundreds of millions of federal research dollars into research projects that are spurring Chinese advancement in cutting-edge military technologies, including "hypersonic weapons, artificial intelligence, fourth generation nuclear weapons technology, and semiconductor technology," a new congressional report has found.

Alien and Sedition Acts (1798)

Passed in preparation for an anticipated war with France, the Alien and Sedition Acts tightened restrictions on foreign-born Americans and limited speech critical of the government.

In 1798, the United States stood on the brink of war with France. The Federalist Party, which advocated for a strong central government, believed that Democratic-Republican criticism of Federalist policies was disloyal and feared that "aliens," or non-citizens, living in the United States would sympathize with the French during a war.

As a result, a Federalist-controlled Congress passed four laws, known collectively as the Alien and Sedition Acts. These laws raised the residency requirements for citizenship from 5 to 14 years, authorized the president to deport "aliens," and permitted their arrest, imprisonment, and deportation during wartime. The Sedition Act made it a crime for American citizens to "print, utter, or publish…any false, scandalous, and malicious writing" about the government.

The laws were directed against Democratic-Republicans, the party typically favored by new citizens. The only journalists prosecuted under the Sedition Act were editors of Democratic-Republican newspapers.

Sedition Act trials, along with the Senate's use of its contempt powers to suppress dissent, set off a firestorm of criticism against the Federalists and contributed to their defeat in the election of 1800, after which the acts were repealed or allowed to expire. The controversies surrounding them, however, provided for some of the first tests of the limits of freedom of speech and press.

Moreover, they have foreign firms registered in Cyprus, such as Bredge Limited and Wogger Limited.
