There will be thousands of loads, if not more. In our first project, we handled over 600 loads for Hurricane Isabel. This was not a huge hurricane and didn’t match the size of the Florida Four or Katrina. Some states are better prepared than others. Florida is world-class. I suspect Texas is also better prepared than most. The damage that Harvey inflicted on Texas will be massive and will take months to clean up. Expect truck demand to last for months and more than 10,000 loads.

You will sit. When you get to the relief site, no one will have a clue what to do with you or be able to tell you where to go. Expect that there will be hundreds of other trucks waiting around with you for further instructions. The issue is that any decision requires the coordination of local, state, and Federal officials before any freight can be delivered. We had to get sign off from seven different agencies before delivering the first load, this is slow and painful. You will be dealing with government officials, many of which are not familiar with logistics and don’t understand what it takes to handle such projects. Also, considering the fact that the last major hurricane to hit the US was over twelve years ago, it is likely that few of the folks on the ground will have any clue what to do. They will be learning on the job.

A woman was found shot to death in a South Side alley on Saturday morning after a resident called 911 because her body had been in the same place for about two days.

Bartock’s doctor who prescribed the deadly cocktail of drugs and the pharmacy that filled the prescriptions have settled a civil suit with the decedent’s estate. Having those responsible pay through the nose is great, but the real question is why wasn’t the doctor and pharmacist criminally charged for Bartock’s death?

The United States government has poured billions into addiction treatment, but the drugs are too broadly available for the treatment to stick, some experts said, arguing the supply needs to be drastically curbed.

Illicit fentanyl usually comes across the southern border from Mexico where it’s manufactured from chemicals made in China and pressed into pills that often look like prescription drugs such as Xanax, Adderall, or oxycodone.

Steps by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to regulate export of illicit chemicals have been dismissed by the experts as cosmetic. Instead, they say, the regime is using drugs as a strategic weapon against the United States.

“This is a chemical war that we’re facing, and no one’s treating it as a war,” said Derek Maltz, former head of special operations at the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

An expert witness retained by the plaintiffs in the East Palestine class-action lawsuit has signed a declaration to say independent testing evaluator Scott Smith’s testing results are valid and credible. Stephen Petty was retained by the attorneys that represent the citizens of East Palestine to conduct testing and serve as an expert witness in the case. The attorneys have not released the testing data, which has caused speculation that they are not working on behalf of the residents who are still experiencing significant health effects from the aftermath of the chemical burn in February 2023.

This information came out just before the judge approved the $600 million class-action settlement, which many consider far too low for the residents dealing with ongoing medical issues. Judge Benita Y. Pearson called the settlement “fair, reasonable, and adequate,” and approved $162 million for the attorneys on the case.

The BBC reports that a 40-year-old man has been arrested and criminally charged for social media posts that contained “anti-establishment rhetoric.”

Yes, really. Wayne O’Rourke becomes the latest example of the wave of authoritarian hysteria to impact free speech in the UK following the recent anti-invasion anti-murder protests.

O’Rourke was arrested on Sunday in connection with “posts made from a social media account,” according to Lincolnshire Police.

Anti-establishment rhetoric" is a criminal offense? O’Rourke had nearly 100,000 followers on X and predicted his own arrest days beforehand. So now apparently posting “anti-establishment rhetoric” in the United Kingdom is enough to get you locked up.

The report does not give any specifics of what the thought criminal actually posted, but he had “allegedly expressed support for the recent riots and offered advice on how to remain anonymous to his 90,000 followers.”

As we highlighted yesterday, A 61-year-old man in the UK was jailed for 18 months for chanting “who the fuck is Allah?” and telling police officers “you’re not English anymore” during a protest outside Downing Street.

MY COMMENT: I think it is safe to say in the Western world you need to be using forward secrecy while online, never posting your real info into ANY social media, using a separate isolated computer while doing so, and ALWAYS be using a VPN (don't use European or UK IP addresses obviously), if not even using Tor along with a VPN. Use more secure browsers like Librewolf, disable vulnerable telemetry, GeoAPI, WebGL and WebRTC protocols, and spoof your metadata using add-ons. It's sad we have to do this in the Western world now but I've been operating this way for 10+ years! I can see clearly see where things are headed as I do not drink fluoridated water, eat garbage GMO foods nor do I watch state-run media propaganda from the West!

The US has said it will waive visa requirements for citizens of Qatar, making the gas-rich Gulf state the first Arab country, and only the second Muslim-majority country, to join a network of states with expedited travel to the US.
