apparently the tracking is supposed to take the place of paint balls. What i like about that is the fact that you can find the monster easier, but on the other hand paint ball management was a semi-important part of MH. On the open world thing, that could either be a big improvement or a vast defect in the final product

If they wanna really casualize it then they'd get rid of grinding mechanics. But that's both a core part of the game and it's greatest hindrance. I just hope everything else isn't true. This looks really cool even with it's gameplay not being traditional in the exact same way.

The open world design is really just a well-needed step away from the engine that they have been using for the mainline games since the fucking Playstation 2. The areas were a consequence of the hardware limitations of that console.
I'd be surprised if the MonHun team decided to actually casualize the game.

not from review websites, it's from people I know and people that have played the others. They made it easier to get into and streamed lined some parts (such as listing gathering quests as their own separate category that isn't needed for progression), while raising the overall skill ceiling by adding new combos. The weapon upgrade tree is good because you can know what you'll need ahead of time to upgrade weapons. Gunner and blade master armor have been removed. There's one armor set with two cosmetic styles . I can't remember how exactly it works right now but it makes switching from blade master to gunner and vice-versa much easier.

Picked up MonHun World the other day on PS4, any anons here play on that platform?
The friends system leaves a lot to be desired but once you get the hang of things, the game is pretty sweet. It being my first MonHun game, I can't say how it measures up to the others but I find it to be rewarding and very enjoyable

I started with MH4U and MHGen and I love what they did with MHW. bought my brother a copy for his xbone I’m still gonna buy it for PC, but so far what people have said is pretty spot on. Streamlined mechanics, simplified armor and weapon system, good controls as well as some new stuff.

On a lighter note I'm waiting to pick up MHW when it gets to PC. How does the movement and general handling of the game compare to the other games? That was by far my biggest gripe with 4U and Gen.

Only game PC game I can think of to compare it to is closed beta/release Vindictus. It's more or less similar, with MHW being a smidgen smoother. Some monsters have fucktarded hitboxes, and AI breaks frequently, though.
MHW is a lot more casul now too, so it may be easier to get into

Very good comparison from my experience with both. Only problem is Vindi completely killed 4U for me (my first and only) due to 4U feeling far too slow-paced and clunky in comparison. World looks to be significantly faster than 4U tho so I am hoping to give it another go. Even broke my rule about never preordering, as I have seen a number of friends play it and know I would be buying it day one anyways.

Loved everything except the end. Not just because it was the end, but also because it felt… Bad. Like, it seemed like Echo was legitly happy to finally be rid of her and that the hollow feeling was the token part rather than the denial of it.
It could be interpreted that he was referring strictly to quirky how2mg Lynn, not just Lynn in general with the whole "it's over" bit. And while I do get what you were going for on the whole doesn't think he deserves it thing still going… Having him be the one to toss out the "soon" correction from "later", or even initiating a parting hug or maybe even kiss off of a short internal argument would have made it so much better. As written I feel like them meeting up again is a forlorn hope rather than likely, and that's just really sad.
