I was inspired to make this thread by a game called The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince. It's a 2D puzzle-platformer with a classic fairytale vibe to it.
>wolf monster sings in the forest every night
>prince sneaks out to listen
>one night prince wants to see who is singing and approaches her
>she panics and reaches out, accidentally blinding him with her claws
>she sells her singing voice to the forest witch for the ability to turn into a princess so she can hold his hand and guide him through the forest to the witch so she can get his sight restored.
It's like a reverse Ico.

Bittersweet as all hell. The Prince and Princess get into a fight when he finds out she’s secretly the Wolf that hurt him, and accidentally start a forest fire. They make up and work together to reach the Witch to fix everything. The Witch does but is angry and takes away the Wolf’s human form without giving back her singing voice. She also makes the Wolf’s memories of the Prince the price she must pay to fix his eyes. Despite Prince’s pleas for clemency and attempts at bargaining, the Wolf submits. Months later the Wolf is alone in the woods singing (terribly now) when the Prince finally finds her again and approaches. The Wolf almost lashes out at him again, but stops when the flower he is carrying stirs a sense of nostalgia in her. Fade to white as the two sit down together.

Like >>395447 said, it’s a fairly simple platformer with a “1 player co-op” gimmick a la Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons. Very, very short too. But it more than makes up for it with the sheer charm and catharsis of its art and story. If you like small artsy games I recommend it, heck I’d do so even if you didn’t. It’s a gorgeous little original fairy tale with a wholesomeness that’s almost extinct in modern media and well worth experiencing, in my books at least.
