So, I don't know if anyone on /monster/ remembers Ranma 1/2, but it was this anime & manga in the early 1990s about a brash martial artist with too many fiancees and a magical curse that turns him into a girl when splashed with cold water. I like the show, I like monstergirls, so I was wondering if anyone would be interested in discussing ways of fusing the two together, or has any art of Ranma girls as monstergirls?
For what it's worth, the series did have a few "blink and you'll miss it" monstergirls in it; the anime has a cute ghost girl, a ghostly sorceress who turns into a lamia, a succubus version of Ranma's female form, a Yuki-onna (in both loli and grown woman forms), and Shampoo (Ranma's Chinese amazon would-be-wife) does spend a few moments as a /monster/ appropriate catgirl. The manga has its own version of "Ranma's girl side as a succubus", Rogue the asura, and a female harpy of the "human with separate wings and bird-like feet" format.
Pic semi-related; Ranma's father transforms into a panda due to his curse. I don't have anything better, sadly.

Now that this thread has finally processed… and I'm sorry about the duplicants; can somebody erase those? - here's the main reason I was wanting to bring this thread up.
Long story short, I'm thinking about writing something revolving around mixing monstergirls with Ranma 1/2, and you guys are pretty much my only hope to have any discussions on the topic whatsoever.
First question; what do you think should happen to Ranma himself if exposed to mamono mana? He's cursed to turn into a girl, but he is very vehemently straight and wants to be cured. I was thinking that it would basically cure him by splitting off his girl-side as its own independent monstergirl. One that'd probably be really, *really* fixated on hooking up with him. There any species that makes sense for that?
Secondly, what species do you think monsterization would turn the various women of Ranma 1/2 into? Or should I explain who they are before I ask that question?

Quick recap of the Ranma 1/2 girls for the newcomers:
>Akane Tendo
Designated love interest. Flat-chested, super strong, tsundere schoolgirl. Hates it when Ranma acts "perverted", but has a pretty dirty mind herself. Really wishes she had bigger breasts. No idea what she'd become, but she'd definitely fight monsterization as hard as she can.
>Nabiki Tendo
Playfully flirtatious, mischievous, scheming and greedy elder sister to Akane Tendo. Loves to stir up trouble and make money off of the craziness of Ranma's life. Gyobu Danuki is an obvious fit for her, or perhaps a Youko, but outside of MGE canon… don't know, I could see her as a Goblin.
>Kasumi Tendo
Eldest of the Tendo sisters. Gentle, motherly, compassionate, sweet-natured homemaker. Frankly something of a non-entity; she's basically just the sweet one of her family. Maybe a Holstaurus?
>Shampoo
Chinese Amazon engaged to Ranma because he defeated her in combat. Bubbly, sexually aggressive, shameless, but also ruthless in a fight. Cursed to turn into a cat when splashed with cold water.
>Ukyo Kuonji
Ranma's unlucky childhood friend; their fathers agreed to engage them, but Genma just wanted to steal her dowry. She spent her preteen years pretending she was a boy, and in fact she was such a tomboy that Ranma didn't know she was a girl until he met her and learned of the engagement.
>Kodachi Kuno
Wealthy and flamboyantly crazy heiress who has no official engagement to Ranma, but wants to steal him away. Completely amoral and willing to do anything to get what she wants or to punish those who anger her. Does express a softer side and more genuine feelings for Ranma in the anime. Master of Martial Arts Rhythmic Gymnastics. Infamous for her shrieking laugh of manic glee.

Should I watch or read this? Also, if anime, which one?

Well, people are divided on that. A lot of people traditionally insist you should only read the manga, because that was written to an official "ending" (such as it is) by Takahashi and the anime was cancelled just after the introduction of Ranma's mom.
But… on the other hand, frankly, I find the characters in general tend to be a lot nicer and more relatable in the anime. Both versions have non-endings, but the anime's non-ending is more optimistic to me.
There's also only one anime, although it changed its name starting from the second season.

Kneejerk thoughts…
>Akane
Minotaurus, just for the combination of her canon strength and temper with the irony of finally giving her the huge boobs she secretly craves.
>Nabiki
Gyoubu Danuki for purely MGE lore. But she could also work as a "slutty business woman" type goblin, or as a shark-girl, skunk-girl, rat-girl or lamia due to symbolic ties between those animals and her attitude.
>Kasumi
Holstaurus as a foil to Akane, or else a big-tittied and/or milfy angel or elf. Actually, a Titania from the MGE would be surprisingly fitting, given Kasumi's canonical mixture of motherliness and spaciness.
>Shampoo
Werecat or Jinko are the most obvious suggestions, but I don't know… maybe a Youko would be better?
>Ukyo
Given she canonically has a dirty mind but tries to deny it… maybe a Blue Oni?
>Kodachi
I just don't know. Maybe March Hare?
What about Hinako Ninomiya, the canonical ki-vampire teacher who goes from ditzy loli to stacked and sultry when she feeds?

I like the pic you posted in your 1st dupe at >>391417 may as well post it here since you reported them to be deleted. How come both >>391418 and >>391418 had the same image as this one?

Honestly? I thought that pic would be deleted as "too furry".
As for how the duplicants came to be? I haven't a clue. The server literally just kept the "posting new thread" at 100% for five-ten minutes, until I got sick of it and refreshed the page to try and post it again. And then all of a sudden, a refresh brought up four different versions of the same thread. I was quite annoyed.

Has anyone ever seen any monstergirlified pictures of the girls from this show? I remember a picture of female Ranma as a pregnant harpy laying eggs in a nest, but that's it.

Ranma if monsterized should be a Hinezumi.

Interesting… why do you say that? I would have thought that a redhaired Kunoichi would make more sense for monsterized Ranma-chan; he does tend to do the "sexually provoke opponents to distract them" routine fairly often, and like I said we have had a "succubus Ranma-chan" in canon…

Hinezumi lose strength and become submissive when drenched
Hinezumi are mice, Ranma is scared of cats
Hinezumi are Mist Continent, Ranma has overt ties to China (his clothing, the fact that most of his training was done on the mainland, his personal fighting style is explicitly stated to be based as much or more on kung-fu than any traditional Japanese forms, etc)

>Hinezumi lose strength and become submissive when drenched
That does tie into Ranma's female form canonically being weaker than his male form, I admit.
>Hinezumi are mice, Ranma is scared of cats
…Okay, yeah, that's a pretty clever fit.
>Hinezumi are Mist Continent, Ranma has overt ties to China (his clothing, the fact that most of his training was done on the mainland, his personal fighting style is explicitly stated to be based as much or more on kung-fu than any traditional Japanese forms, etc)
Okay, I do agree with this basic point, but just two things:
Firstly, Ranma explicitly calls out his "style foundation" as "kempo" at a fairly early point in the series. Kempo is derived from karate, but admittedly, I think it actually does mesh karate and kung fu elements, so you might be right there.
Secondly, Ranma actually did most of his training during his childhood in Japan. We have no idea precisely how long Ranma spent in China, only that his time there took place between when he abandoned Ryoga and when the series started. For all we know, Ranma was only in China for something like a month.
Still, Ranma-chan the Hinezumi makes a lot of sense. But how should Ranma himself interact with mamono mana? He lacks the key element of triggering alpification - namely, being gay. So what do anons think is more likely?
>Ranma's curse is permanently split off from him as a (yandere?) hinezumi version of his female form?
>Ranma now becomes a guy who can change freely into a lesbian hinezumi with cold water, so monstergirls find him super exotic?
>Whenever you splash Ranma with cold water, a new Ranko-Hinezumi appears and becomes a permanently independent being, so multiple splashes will create a veritable horde of Ranko-Hinezumis?

How I’d do it:
Ranma accumulates Demon Mana in his female form extremely easily/rapidly and transforms incrementally, with the side effect of making him identify more as a female and become androphilic the longer he stays as one. If the transformation ever completes, he-she’s permalocked. Becoming an incubus would lock him as a man permanately, but some quirk in his spirit signature or physiology means that he vents Demon Mana as a male even faster than he intakes it from the environment/food. Sleeping with a monster girl would probably work, but between the marriage contract clusterfuck, his chivalry/prudishness, and plain old Murphy’s Law, he’s unable/unwilling to just do that.
Cue episodic hijinks of guys splashing him and trying to get her stuck, girls attempting to bribe/blackmail him into letting them “break his curse”, and possibly some harebrained schemes where he tries to go as close to the point of no return as possible as a girl, immediately switch back to a boy, and try to tip over the line before he balance is brought back down to neutral, or similar ill-considered stunts that just flirt with disaster. Lots of drama/comedy potential that way.

Really don't like locking Ranma as a girl or making him hook up with men, but your scenario does sound pretty appropriate - it definitely makes for some intense "what the fuckery" shenanigans, especially with monstergirls who would be absolutely horrified at Ranma's condition.
Hmm… I know at least some monstergirls, like Bicorns, actually prefer harems, but are there any monstergirls who'd see Ranma's situation as you describe it here and decide that they *have* to convert Ranma's fiancees into sensible monstergirls so they will stop acting like ultra-morons and get him cured by magic mamono muff ASAP?

How would Akane feel about monsterization, if she learned it would make her both a better martial artist and bustier to boot?

Personally, I'd go for something like this…
>Ranko
Separated from Ranma as a tsundere yet violently protective Hinezumi.
>Akane
Minotaurus.
>Nabiki
"Porncraft" Goblin/lamia hybrid.
>Kasumi
Milfy "Angel" whose maternal clock is a ticking timebomb.
>Shampoo
Oni/Kitsune hybrid.
>Ukyo
Ninja Salamander.
>Kodachi
Dark Elf/bunnygirl hybrid.

Two questions, anons:
1; catgirl Ranmachan and Shampoo; great idea or terrible idea?
2; would the "Yin Ranma" from the anime episode "Ranma and the Evil Within" count as a monstergirl?
