A series of decisions whose underlying logic I cannot quite retrace anymore has led me to discover a Chinese web anime about fox spirits tasked with reuniting immortal spirits with the reincarnations of their erstwhile lovers. It's on its 7th season, somehow, and has a manhua adaptation.
Three episodes in, it's about as cringy as you'd expect a Chinese bootleg anime to be, however the animation is surprisingly decent. The Mandarin voice acting sounds horrible, although a Japanese dub is supposed to exist somewhere as well. It's shaping up to be some kind of shounen romcom that missed late 90s daytime TV. It has foxgirls.
I don't know why I'm watching this now, but I feel obligated to inform you that it exists. Here is a YouTube playlist with all eighty-nine half-episodes subbed in English, though episodes 55–63 are missing.

Ignoring that faggot, has anyone else noticed that foxfags tend to be fucked in the head? Kitsune are nice girls but the guys who have them as their waifu seem to almost invariably be emotionally unstable faggots. Like, sub-res isn't totally crazy but he has some crippling self-worth issues. I knew some guy that liked that kitsune from MGQ who's a bisexual schizophrenic and a couple of other autistic degenerates that liked kitsune.
Personally I think their whole magical nature and the escapist fantasy appeal of many kitsune stories naturally attracts guys who either aren't terribly happy with their lives or not quite in touch with reality, but I could be wrong, what do you guys think?
And before anyone says it, yes, monstergirls are in general escapist fantasy, but I'm moreso talking the kind where you outright just go to another world or otherwise cut off all contact with it. Less "your current life with all the responsibilities that entail it, but now you have a qt monster waifu" and more "you go off with qt monster waifu to a place where you can abandon the world and whatever responsibilities you had".

OP here, I need to correct myself: it actually started out as a webcomic, of which the bootleg anime is an adaptation. Mea culpa.
Also skimming through later OPs, there seems to be a spidergirl (the size of a real spider, apparently) introduced later, but I haven't gotten that far.
