I guess they are making one half for people new to Project Diva or who have played only F, and another half for people who haven't played Mirai. I'm of the latter kind but I'm interested in both halves since they both appeal to people who haven't played Arcade.
I get the feeling Future Tone is going to be a step up in difficulty which is to be expected.
>SEGA’s quote from the magazine assures fans that the game’s cost will have a “bargain price”.
I wonder if what they mean is a bargain price when taking into consideration the amount of songs compared to previous games and not just "in general" because you could say buying the Song pack for F 2nd was a "bargain price" compared to buying each song for $3 each but still the price of the pack wasn't peanuts.

Sega's quote strikes me as trying to calm the waters a little before they announce the price. If they're actively saying it'll be a "bargain", I can't help but feel it'll be anything but that.

Them mentioning the price at all without actually saying the price is a red flag already. Given the large amount of content in each half, I could see them making each half close to the price of a full game.

I think there was some rumor about being free as a thank you to the fans but I think it was just a rumor.
If I have to make a guesstimate I expect it to be either $30 each or since it's Japanese only, by their standard of living more towards $40 each. If they want to be cheeky about it and claim "it's a bargain" because they are giving us so many songs they could do $60 each like full games.
What I have in mind when I hear a bargain by my spoiled PC standards is $15 each.

On the bright side, $60 for 120 songs doesn't strike me as being bad at all, especially when compared to the PS3 Diva games.

I was thinking something like ~$40 each, so more expensive for the whole package than a regular game, but each half is cheaper. I can't believe anyone would think they would give out a free game, when Miku can make so much money.
>>74014
True. They could easily justify a higher overall price since 220 songs is a lot for a music game like this.

See? This is what I mean. You are thinking exactly like a Sega Executive. Either way the price will be for Japanese standards and I think they are used to paying a bit more for games in general?
>since 220 songs is a lot for a music game like this.
Like many wiseguys on /v/ would tell you there are rhythm games that come with 500 and 1000 songs but by Project Diva standards of about ~40 games it really is something. PD games have much more than songs though.

>of about ~40 games
I mean songs of course. To be exact
PD1: 36 (2 DLC packs though)
PD 2nd: 46
Extend: 36
PD F: 32 + 6 extra
F 2nd: 40 (and 1 Song pack)

It's true 220 songs are a lot but it's almost all repeating ones if you've played all the games. Still probably their licensing fees don't care about us having played them or not.

Can't say really. Do a check on the Songs page on that site I gave for Arcade/Future Tone.
By a quick look there are very few new games, mostly from Mirai if you haven't played those games.

>Practive mode, Survival mode.
These are awesome additions, especially practive mode. I've been missing something like that and had the same idea.
Before, going through a whole song to practice a segment was more hardcore but with 200 songs and Future Tone being more Pro oriented, I can see why they want to save you some time.

I can give better translations once the game actually releases
It also seems like it'll be possible to change the vocals and PVs for some songs?

You wouldn't believe this but just today I had a dream about news related to the newer games. In the dream they announce Future Tone for the West and a PC version. When I woke up I thought "wouldn't that be wonderful" and this is the first news I saw. Just a crazy coincidence in a series of crazy coincidences I've had with things like this.
I know it's a big mental leap to go from a English release rumor to a possible PC version, but I did a prediction long ago that if there is to be a PC port of anything at all, it would most likely be Future Tone since it's trivial to port it from the Arcade version. In that prediction I speculated that a PC version is most likely to come with a western release of Future Tone, so this is a step in the right direction. If Future Tone comes to the west and a PC version doesn't get announced in 3 to 6 months after the English release, then it's safe to say that Sony paid for exclusivity.
Anyway, this is big news for me because one of the reasons I was holding off on getting a PS4 was that even if I were to get one, then I would have no way of getting Miku's games. Getting Future Tone would be too complicated and pricey when I calculate everything. A European release would simplify that and spare me from currency conversion scalping.
