CR (TwiX) JUST IN: An armed illegal immigrant gang has reportedly taken over an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado.

New footage obtained by

shows an armed gang at a complex in Aurora.

Aurora officials have been investigating a Venezuelan gang, the Tren de Aragua gang, who is accused of engaging in human smuggling, violence, money laundering, and illicit drug trafficking throughout the U.S., including at the apartment complex on Nome Street in Aurora.

According to local reports, the complex is closing down because of "code violations," however this appears to be a cover for a much bigger problem.

"We are not buying this. We believe that yes, there are code violations, but this started because of a gang takeover," said Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky.

Crime at the complex in question has increased big time.

In 2022 there were 41 reported crimes, 84 crimes in 2023, and 66 crimes in the first half of 2024.

The widow of a Colorado man killed by an illegal immigrant trucker is outraged as he faces just a year in prison after being charged with and pleading guilty to mere minor traffic violations.

“I’m mad that I’m not going to get justice for my husband,” devastated widow Deann Miller told 9 News. “Mad because the most this man can get is a year for murdering my husband because the DA refused to charge him with more.”

Her husband, 64-year-old Scott Miller, was killed in June when a semi driven by 47-year-old Ignacio Cruz-Mendoza veered out of control and dumped a load of steel and iron rods across Highway 285.

The metal landed on top of Miller’s pick-up truck, crushing and killing him on the scene. Four other vehicles were also crushed, and one driver was left with serious injuries.

But Cruz-Mendoza, a Mexican living in the US illegally, was only charged by the Jefferson County District Attorney with minor traffic misdemeanors — careless driving resulting in a death, and careless driving resulting in injury.

After pleading guilty in July he faces just a year in prison and some fines at his sentencing Friday.

Miller is baffled by the charges, especially since Cruz-Mendoza never should have been in the country to begin with.

“He should not have been behind the wheel of that truck, and he knew that, and he chose to do this,” she said.

Mendoza has been removed from the country or left voluntarily at least 16 times since 2002, according to the Denver Post.

He also did not have a valid operator’s license at the time of the wreck.

The charges were uncharacteristically low for such a deadly incident.

Just this year, another truck driver involved in a deadly crash in nearby Weld County was sent to prison for 16 years, according to 9 News.

And a few years earlier the Jefferson County DA sentenced a trucker to 110 years behind bars over a wreck that left four people dead, though the prison term was later reduced.

“It makes me feel like they didn’t do their job. They’re not doing their job. Who else is going to get these rogue truck drivers and these rogue trucking companies off the road if not the people we put in charge to make us safe?” Miller said.

“How many more people have to die on Colorado roads, on any road, before they start doing their job?”

The Jefferson County DA did not respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who suffered two unsuccessful presidential bids, will be joining the Yale University roster this fall to teach a course — on running for office.

The weekly seminar taught by Christie, 61, entitled “How to Run a Political Campaign,” is open to undergraduates as well as graduate students at Yale’s Jackson School of Global Affairs, and will focus on navigating the challenges of running for office in the new “confusing,” political landscape.

The Texas woman accused of fabricating rape claims about a cop and his friend insists her allegations are true — and says she has ample medical evidence to back her up.

Amanda Zawieruszynski, 40, says she’s been forced to undergo surgery to “repair internal and external physical damage” caused by the alleged November assault, which she claims was carried out by El Campo Police officer Freddie Douglas and his friend John Marks.

“Despite recent claims and circulation of a misleading and harmful narrative, it is clear that Ms. Zawieruszynski was raped, and did not consent to any sexual activity with the perpetrators,” her attorney Thomas Cammack told The Post.

Zawieruszynski had been casually dating 41-year-old Marks — her neighbor on their Manvel street, just outside of Houston — and said she stopped over at his place for a late-night swim on Nov. 11, something which was not out of the ordinary.

However, she claimed on that night Marks had invited 43-year-old Douglas along, and that the pair violently forced themselves on her.

Both men were arrested and Douglas was fired from the police department, but later the charges were dropped by a grand jury after they produced footage from the house — which showed that the three did have sex, according to a lawsuit filed by Douglas, but that it was completely consensual.

Douglas sued both Zawieruszynski and the Manvel Police Department for damages, alleging his life had been turned upside down by the allegations, and that police arrested him without looking into the video evidence he claimed he had.

The ex-cop — a father of two once named “officer of the year” — said he was forced to sell his home to cover legal fees, and needed help from his mother to come up with $100,000 to bond out of jail.

He even came forward with footage from Marks’ home-security system which showed Manvel police officers talking about the video-evidence that would later clear him as they initially searched the home.

But Zawieruszynski is not backing down on her claims.

“After the incident, Ms. Zawieruszynski sought immediate medical attention, where a thorough forensic examination was conducted, which provided substantial evidence supporting the fact that the encounter was non-consensual and that the victim’s injuries were consistent with sexual assault,” her attorney said.

“The evidence in this criminal case is being reviewed and has been turned over to law enforcement,”

Zawieruszynski has filed her own lawsuit against Douglas and Marks, alleging “sexual assault, assault, battery, false imprisonment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.”

Douglas is standing by his own evidence, too.

“Ms. Zawieruszynski has fled her home in Texas and is avoiding service of our lawsuit. We are aware of her alleged ‘rape kit.’ Presumably, the Grand Jury that no-billed this case was also made aware of the rape kit,” his attorney, Michael Kerenksy, said in a statement.

“The findings of that exam are equally consistent with having consensual sex with two men, one of them all night long,” he said, adding that they remain convinced that the video evidence will again exonerate Douglas.

The Manvel Police Department told The Post they were the target of “false or misleading allegations,” and that it “works to uphold the highest standards of the law enforcement profession.”

The influencer started undergoing plastic surgery at the age of 17 and has since had over 30 procedures – including body and face.

She only decided to stop after being diagnosed with body dysmorphia in 2022.

Pamplona may undergo one more procedure — a reconstructive surgery to hopefully reverse more of what she’s dealt with.

Now, she is going through a period of great suffering and coming to terms with the complications.

“I like to say that if everyone paid attention to their emotional health, procedures would be less frequent,” she declared.

A bipartisan task force investigating the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump requested a trove of documents and interviews on Wednesday.

Pennsylvania Republican US Rep. Mike Kelly, who chairs the panel, and Colorado Democratic US Rep. Mike Crow, who serves as ranking member, sent a letter to the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Secret Service asking for interviews, communications and existing protocols that factored into the July 13 campaign rally shooting in Butler, Pa.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe Jr. have until Sept. 4 to comply with the request.

Officials sent the letter two days after the task force revisited the Butler Farm Show grounds in southwestern Pennsylvania, Kelly’s home district.

In an update posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, the congressman said the meetings with law enforcement “provided the Task Force with greater insight into the security failures of July 13.”

“What we saw and heard underscored concerns about multiple security shortcomings and the lack of a common understanding among local law enforcement officials about exactly how the Secret Service intended to address a threat like the one [sic] that developed,” he said.

Kelly was among several congressional and state lawmakers present at the rally when a gunman took aim at Trump, grazing his ear after the president turned his head to look at a projector screen behind him.

The would-be assassin fired several more shots into the crowd, killing 50-year-old Corey Comperatore and severely wounding 57-year-old David Dutch and 74-year-old James Copenhaven.

U.S. Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle resigned after the shooting amid intense pressure from congressional lawmakers over the “stunning” security failures.

The date that Elon Musk’s social media site, X, formerly known as Twitter, will officially shutter its longtime San Francisco headquarters has been set, according to a report.

A source familiar told Fortune that X informed employees in an email on Thursday that the office on Market Street would close on Sept. 13, and the outlet noted the date just happens to be a Friday.

FOX Business has reached out to X for comment.

Musk announced last month that he would move the global headquarters of X and SpaceX out of California after Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill prohibiting schools from notifying parents of their children’s gender identity.

Musk said at the time that X’s headquarters would move to Austin, Texas, while he also announced that SpaceX would relocate its headquarters from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas.

He cited the gender identity law as being “the final straw” and attributed the move to “this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies.”

Trump suggests he’ll vote to overturn Florida’s six-week abortion ban: ‘Too short’

Former President Donald Trump appeared to suggest Thursday that he’ll vote in favor of a Florida ballot measure aimed at overturning the state’s six-week abortion ban.

“I think the six week is too short. It has to be more time,” Trump told NBC News when asked how he intends to vote on the November referendum. “I want more weeks.”

“I am going to be voting that we need more than six weeks,” the former president added.

A Trump campaign spokesperson said after the brief interview that the former president was not making a declaration on how he would vote on the ballot measure.

“President Trump has not yet said how he will vote on the ballot initiative in Florida, he simply reiterated that he believes six weeks is too short,” Trump Campaign National Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the ban — which allows exceptions to save the mother’s life — into law in April of last year.

Trump, at the time, called DeSantis’ decision to sign the bill into law a “terrible mistake.”

The so-called “heartbeat” law, which derives its name from when an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detectable, went into effect in May.

Amendment 4, which is among six ballot questions Florida voters will take up in November, would provide a state constitutional right to abortion before viability, effectively killing the heartbeat law.

The measure will require a threshold of at least 60% support to succeed.

Trump has presented himself as being sympathetic to abortion rights advocates since the launch of his 2024 campaign.

He announced earlier this year that he would not support a national ban on the procedure.

Last week, Trump touted on Truth Social that, if elected, his administration would be “great for women and their reproductive rights.”

The Republican nominee for president indicated Thursday that he was fairly satisfied with the state of play as it relates to abortion.

“Look, just so you understand, everybody wanted Roe v. Wade terminated for years, 52 years. I got it done,” Trump said. “They wanted to go back to the states.”

“Exceptions are very important for me, for Ronald Reagan, for others that have navigated this very, very interesting and difficult path.”

A poll from the University of North Florida’s Public Opinion Research Lab released last month showed 69% of Sunshine State residents indicating that they would vote yes on Amendment 4 – which far out-polled support for Vice President Kamala Harris in the state.

However, a Florida Atlantic University/Mainstreet USA poll released earlier this month found only 56% of Floridians supporting the proposed amendment – 4 points less than necessary for the amendment to become law.

(The Center Square) – The North Carolina State Board of Elections narrowly voted against a request to remove Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from the ballot.

The board called the last-minute meeting on Thursday to consider removing the We the People party, which nominated Kennedy as its pick for the presidential election.

The meeting was heated, with the board split down party lines. Chairman Alan Hirsch, and members Jeff Carmon and Siobhan Millan, all Democrats, voted against striking Kennedy from the ballot, while Kevin Lewis and Stacy Eggers, both Republicans, voted to approve.

“The statutory deadline of Sept. 6 can’t be ignored just because of the capricious behavior of one party’s candidate, one party, one person,” Millan said in the meeting. “I’m just going to be real blunt and say I think this whole episode has been a farce, and I feel bad for anyone who’s been deceived.”

The decision follows a summer of controversy for the board, which included multiple lawsuits and a federal investigation.

In early July, the We the People party was first denied access to the ballot, a decision that was later reversed on July 16.

Kennedy announced his decision to suspend his presidential campaign on Aug. 23, less than 24 hours after the Democratic National Convention wrapped. In the press conference, he blamed “shadowy DNC operatives” for fighting his campaign’s access to the ballot at every turn in states across the country.

It took until Wednesday for the We the People party to officially request that Kennedy be removed from their ticket in North Carolina.

Democrats on the board cited the “impracticality” of reprinting ballots as a key factor in their decision; mail-in ballots are supposed to be sent out in the state starting Sept. 6 and many counties have begun printing.

“The decision was made for us when the party didn’t remove him weeks ago,” Carmon said.

The Sept. 6 deadline makes North Carolina one of the first states in the nation to send out its ballots.

Republicans on the board pointed to a provision that allows ballots to be sent out later if they are not yet ready.

Following the vote, Lewis addressed Chairman Hirsch with his concerns.

“Next time you refer to flexibility in the statutes, let’s call it what it is and say it’s situational flexibility,” he said.

Kennedy has asked that his supporters vote for former President Donald Trump even if his name remains on the ballot.

It remains to be seen how much this will affect the race in North Carolina, where Kennedy has been polling at an average of 3.2%.

Idaho murder suspect Bryan Kohberger appeared in court Thursday as his lawyers argued to relocate his trial — after it was revealed that potential jurors threatened to “burn courthouse down” if he was found not guilty.

Kohberger sat at the defense table inside a Moscow, Idaho courtroom — wearing a blue shirt and black jacket — as his lawyers called witnesses in a bid to get his trial moved from Latah County where the brutal murders took place to Ada County over 300 miles away.

Kohberger’s defense attorneys said there’s no way their client could get a fair trial in the sparsely populated county after they carried out a survey of residents there who said they would riot and “burn the courthouse down” if he wasn’t convicted in the fatal stabbing of four University of Idaho students in 2022.

The first three expert witnesses called by the defense included a media monitoring analyst, a psychology professor and a trial consultant who testified about how the sheer volume of media reports and the close proximity to where slayings were carried out would make it difficult to choose impartial jurors.

James Todd Murphy — who is the president of a media monitoring and analysis service — said because of the relatively small population of 25,000 potential jurors in Latah County there is a higher likelihood they’ve been exposed to the vast quantity of reports by local media outlets than compared to the much larger 300,000 population of potential jurors in Ada County.

Dr. Amani El-Alayli — a psychology professor at Eastern Washington University — testified that people who are exposed to publicity about a case are more likely to convict even if they claim they can be impartial.

She said that because of the fact Moscow is a small community that was rocked by the killings it would be “hard” if not “arguably impossible” to select jurors from Latah who could be objective.

A third witness, Dr. Brian Edelman — a trial consultant of nearly 30 years — conducted a survey of 400 residents in Latah about what they know about the case and their opinions on it, finding that 60 percent already believe Kohberger is guilty.

His lawyers said there’s no way their client would be able to have a fair trial in the sparsely populated county after they polled out a survey of residents there who said they would riot and “burn the courthouse down” if he was found not guilty.

Another 52% said they thought he should get the death penalty if convicted and others responded if he was acquitted they’d kill Kohberger, riot or burn the courthouse down, Edelman testified.

But prosecutors have argued the relocation of the trial hundreds of miles away isn’t necessary and is inconvenient.

They claimed the defense’s data is biased and flawed and potential jurors in Ada County would also have had a very high exposure to press coverage of the case.

Judge John Judge has said even if he grants the request to move the trial to Ada County, the parties would have to be prepared to go forward with the current June 2025 trial date.

Kohberger is accused of killing Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves and Madison Mogen in the early hours of Nov. 13, 2022 while they were inside the rental home near the Moscow college campus.

Tyson Foods on Thursday named insider Curt Calaway as its chief financial officer succeeding John R. Tyson, who was suspended in June after police in Arkansas arrested and charged him for intoxicated and careless driving.

Calaway has been with the company since 2006 and was most recently serving as interim CFO. He was also the CFO for Tyson Foods’ prepared foods business unit.

Tyson Foods said it has increased Calaway’s annual base salary to $675,000 and boosted his target annual incentive plan award to 110% of base salary.

A convicted killer who slit the throat of a Florida State University freshman and raped his older sister at a Florida campsite was executed Thursday evening after his legal team unsuccessfully argued his Parkinson’s diagnosis should spare his life.

Loran Cole, 57, was pronounced dead at 6:15 p.m. inside Florida State Prison from a lethal injection 30 years after he murdered the 18-year-old by ruthlessly beating him and cutting his throat.

When asked if he had any final words, all Cole muttered was, “No sir.”

His last meal was pizza, M&M’s, ice cream and soda, USA Today reported.

Cole and his buddy William Paul made friends with murder victim and his sister, 21, at Ocala National Forest while talking around the campfire in 1994, records show. The men then offered to take the siblings to see a pond away from the campsite where they jumped and robbed them.

The student’s lifeless body was left there following the assault and his sister, then a senior at Eckerd College, was dragged back to the campsite where Cole tied her up and raped her.

She was left tied to a tree overnight and then raped the following day before she freed herself and found help.

Both men were convicted of first-degree murder; Paul is serving life in prison.

Cole’s execution was set in motion after Gov. Ron DeSantis signed his death warrant last month.

His legal team made a last-ditch effort to delay the execution, arguing he had Parkinson’s disease, was mentally ill and had brain damage.

He was pronounced dead inside the prison at 6:15 p.m.

His lawyers also noted Cole was an inmate at a state-run reform school where he and other boys were beaten and raped. The state has since apologized for the abuse and passed a law giving reparations to inmates that stayed there.

But the US Supreme Court was unmoved and denied Cole’s final appeal earlier Thursday.

The parents of the two victimized siblings said in a statement read by correction officers following Cole’s execution that the crimes against their son and daughter shattered their lives. They made clear Cole didn’t deserve mercy.

“We are void of feelings and empathy for Mr. Cole. He placed himself into this arena,” part of the statement read, noting their daughter went on to become a teacher, wife and professor.

“Though invisible to others, our daughter bears internal scars that will never go away. She battled years of fear, pain and sorrow,” the parents stated. “She is our hero.”

Cole had two visitors the hours before he was killed, including his son and a pen pal of four years, USA Today reported.

His body trembled when he was administered the fatal dose and about five minutes into the procedure, the warden shook him and shouted his name before he was pronounced dead.

Former President Donald Trump wasted little time trash-talking Vice President Kamala Harris’ first major sit-down television interview since she ascended to the Democratic nomination.

The 45th president roasted Harris in a social media post on Thursday, chiding that she “rambled incoherently” when pressed by CNN anchor Dana Bash about her past flip-flops on key policy matters.

“Her answer rambled incoherently, and declared her ‘values haven’t changed.’ On that I agree, her values haven’t changed,” Trump sniped on Truth Social before dusting off a list of what he alleges she’d pursue as president.

This was something that several top allies of Trump wanted Harris to be grilled on.

She previously backed policies such as the Green New Deal, Medicare for All, a ban on fracking, expanding the Supreme Court, and more.

But in the time since, she has distanced herself from many of those stances.

“I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed,” Harris said in the preview clip.

“You mentioned the Green New Deal. I have always believed and — I’ve worked on it — that the climate crisis is real, that it is an urgent matter to which we should apply metrics that include holding ourselves to deadlines around time.”

It took Harris, 59, some 40 days to sit down for a major interview after President Biden’s seismic decision to bow out of the 2024 race on July 21.

Trump, 78, and his campaign quickly seized upon the media drought and began upping the former president’s tempo availability to the press.

GOP vice presidential nominee JD Vance also upped his media appearances as well in an apparent effort to throw shade at Harris and accuse her of hiding from accountability.

Allies of Trump also knocked Harris for choosing to do her first major television interview since becoming the nominee with Democratic vice presidential contender Tim Walz.

During a campaign town hall event in La Crosse, Wisc., Trump went on a tirade about Harris’ big interview and ridiculed her over the aesthetics.

“She was sitting behind a desk doing this interview. And I said, ‘Dana Bash, you could make yourself big tonight – all you have to do is be fair,’” Trump chided.

“She was sitting behind that desk – this massive desk – and she didn’t look like a leader to me. I’ll be honest, I don’t see her negotiating with President Xi of China. I don’t see her with Kim Jong Un like we did with Kim Jong Un. So we’re going to have to see what happens,” he further ribbed.

Trump had heaped praise on Bash and fellow CNN anchor Jake Tapper who moderated his June debate with Biden, which sparked a Democratic mutiny against the incumbent.

Harris and Trump are slated to square off in Philadelphia for the ABC News debate on Sept. 10.

A recent high school graduate in Missouri was left paralyzed and placed on a ventilator in an ICU after contracting West Nile virus.

John Procter VI, known as “BB” to family and friends, has been hospitalized for more than two weeks with severe symptoms that started as a headache and dizziness on Aug. 8, St. Louis 11 reported.

The 18-year-old went to urgent care and was told he had a tension headache and was sent home.

But his symptoms got worse with violent vomiting and a high-grade fever, putting him in and out of the hospital over the next few days.

“They thought he had meningitis, so they did some tests for that. It came back negative. Sent him home and said to give him over-the-counter medicine,” the teen’s father, John Procter V, told the local news station.

The medicine didn’t work, and then things got scary.

“The following day, he had stroke-like symptoms,” the older Procter said. “Unable to move and speech was real slurred.”

They rushed him back to the hospital, where he was admitted to the ICU and placed on a ventilator, he told the station.

After 16 days in the ICU — at the fourth hospital the teen had been to — Procter VI was diagnosed with West Nile virus, which is commonly spread through mosquitoes.

It took more than 20 doctors scratching their heads over the quick deterioration of the otherwise healthy teen to figure out what was causing the shocking effects.

“He has limited mobility, especially on his left side,” his father said. “He can’t support his weight; he can’t support his own head.”

But the teenager — who hopes to become a diesel mechanic — is making “small but vast” improvements, the dad wrote on a fundraising page set up to help cover medical expenses.

Doctors removed his breathing tube and gave him a tracheotomy to start breathing rehab and physical therapy.

“Doctors say this will be a marathon to try and get him back to what he was before this virus almost killed him,” he wrote.

While 8 out of 10 people infected with West Nile virus will develop zero symptoms, there are rare cases where the person can get severely ill like BB, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

About 1 in 150 people infected develop serious illnesses affecting the central nervous system such as meningitis or encephalitis. Symptoms include high fever, headache, neck stiffness, stupor, disorientation, coma, tremors, convulsions, muscle weakness, vision loss, numbness and paralysis, according to the CDC.

It can take several weeks or even months to recover from a severe case of the virus.

There have been 289 reported cases of West Nile across 33 states so far this year and 18 deaths.

The elderly commander-in-chief had announced his seismic decision to drop out of the race on July 21 following weeks of mounting pressure from Democrats in the aftermath of his fumbling debate performance against former President Donald Trump in late June, which was hosted by CNN.

While commending the incumbent president during her CNN interview, Harris also made a point of juxtaposing Biden with Trump.

“I have spent hours upon hours with him, be it in the Oval Office or the Situation Room. He has the intelligence, the commitment and the judgment and disposition that I think the American people rightly deserve in their president. By contrast, the former president has none of that,” she chided.

Biden is slated to stump with Harris on the campaign trail for the first time since her ascension in Pennsylvania on Monday after he spent almost two weeks away from the White House.

The vice president will then face off against Trump on ABC News during a Sept. 10 debate in Philadelphia.

Four people were injured, including one critically, during an explosion in the basement of a two-family Brooklyn house on Thursday night, authorities said.

First responders rushed to the scene at East 37th Street in East Flatbush around 8:30 p.m. after getting reports of an explosion, the NYPD and FDNY said.

FDNY Assistant Chief Tom Currao said when emergency responders reached the scene, they found remnants of an explosion.

“There was glass over the street,” he said. “And obvious structural damage.”
