Where the establishment makes allowances for normal God fearing Americans to see how the sausage is made, are the alternate delegates. They have no real power. Still, they get to enjoy the after-parties and star gaze at soulless politicians merely because they’ve appeared on Fox News.
The alternates then have a choice to become part of the establishment, or be so disgusted by what they see at these conventions, they disengage from the GOP all together. I’ve seen this cycle for decades.
But make no mistake, the majority of people gathering in Milwaukee are the entrenched establishment, that is only paying lip service to Trump because they have no answer (yet) on how to remove him.
They only respond to power, and Trump still wields more than anyone on planet earth.

As I said, we’re faced with a unique election where Trump will only have 4 years to do what has to be done.
Is that enough time to clean things up? Of course not… we have a lifetime worth of work to do in this country to turn it around; and that requires everyone.
The VP is USUALLY a utility role… I don’t care what any past president or election expert says, whoever can bring the presidential nominee the most ADDITIONAL VOTES, is the pick.
General Flynn would not bring any additional votes, I’m sorry to say. But I think everyone understands this.
In fact, he may cost Trump votes with evangelicals over his prayer and “one world religion” remarks if they decide to pounce on that.
To be perfectly clear, everyone knows I’ve debunked that “one world religion” remark as it was widely taken out of context, but the prayer didn’t sit well with Christians. Myself included.
But he said it was a prayer passed down from his family…. So I will take his word on that, he’s earned it imo, but…. Many Evangelicals might not.
For the record… I do believe General Flynn believes in God. I believe he understands the importance of returning this country to its foundational roots of Christianity.
But I have to be honest here, am I the only one who’s been noticing that the talking point for Flynn to be VP is because he’ll make Trump “Assassination Proof”…
I’m sorry, but that doesn’t sit well with me… and it’s very noticeable.
THE question boils down to for me, does Trump need a Utility role kind of VP or something MORE as VP?
When I say MORE, I mean someone Trump is looking at to continue the fight against the deep state after he’s gone.

Ben Carson I would argue would be the best Utility VP in history who would bring Donald Trump the most votes out of all the “known” candidates (by far).
Think of it… the man they kept telling you was racist, picked a black man to be his VP.
Carson is a man of strong faith and he would be a home run with evangelicals….
—— like Pence was a home-run with evangelicals. It’s a fact.
Also, can we all sadly admit that identity politics plays a significant role?
Because the color of his skin, he would instantly gain a large amount of votes from the black community, which largely votes democratic. I’m just being honest.
By no means whatsoever does that mean he’s not qualified. He’s probably one of the most qualified known candidates. He’s absolutely brilliant. Humble. Loyal.
The only valid argument I see is that he is too soft… he wouldn’t be able to deal with the deep state like Trump can.
I can understand that… and think that would be problematic if Trump was relying on the VP to have to combat the deepstate after he’s gone. Mike Pence definitely wasn’t that guy… lol
But then again, nobody is like Trump.. and the deepstate may be gone by the next time Trump leaves office.

While it’s fun to speculate, the truth of the matter is that Trump may totally surprise us and pick someone nobody was expecting.
