Thoughts on Sams new podcast? No diaper rumours or gay retarded girl talk please.
What I like about it:
>uncut conversation, not alot of editing
>mail bag portion is fun and helpful
>the set looks good. camera angle is pretty bad though
What I don't like about it:

They react to videos (I think?)… idk kind of a waste of time, even for a podcast this is very low in content. They don't even watch videos that spark any kind of cool conversation, it's basically like scrolling through 4chan or twitter

Is this bicflame? I can't keep up with his new crew but the guy he picked really has nothing to say. He could have picked any high school/college student and have the same result. I don't know what kind of work the guy is doing for MDE but he really shouldn't be infront of a camera for 2 hours. Never has any opinion that you haven't already heard from Sam or would expect from a 20 year old, uses "like" 30 times per sentence and literally zones out/plays with his phone for half the episode. The other dude he's working with, jet neptune, seems much funnier and more extroverted/intelligent whenever he's in front of a camera.

I liked the old Hydewars because it were funny talks on obscure topics (like the one with Sam and Charles smoking pipes and talking about alternative realities and hollywood child molesters in the car). I like the new Hydewars because it's Sam GOING DEEP into some topic with some good advice or funny social commentary. In all those videos he tries to be a positive person and even mentions how important it is to be positive. In this podcast Sam is aggressive and mostly just rambling/getting angry about random shit. Also it's overly political. I don't know if this is his new shtick but most of the audience doesn't want to hear about black people, jews, media, government, big tech, etc. etc. all the fucking time. I loved the old Hydewars episodes because it felt like having a conversation with a friend (especially the ones with Charles), this is like scrolling through some old boomers facebook feed.
Why is Sam so mad all the time and only talks shit about people in every single episode? Not even in a funny/roasting/creative way like KSTV but rather calling people faggot tranny asshole for 3 hours.
At this point I would unironically rather listen to Joe Rogan because it's at least just 2 guys talking about stuff. Watching this is like going into a room full of bad vibes and people arguing and holding some kind of grudge. Also he should stop eating during the episode. It's not edgy or funny, but really disgusting, I feel like he's making fun of his audience at this point. Not a hater but upset about what MDE has become in the last few years. Remember those KSTV era streams like "How I survived High School", the QA afterwards and stuff like that? I felt a more positive attitude there than I do now in any new video.

The kid whose half his age seems nervous talking to him and one person is always speaking over the other at all times, there's no chemistry at all. Yeah I know what you mean. I believe Sam that he‘s working hard and the work process is autistic/perfectionist and that is why even Vlogs take so long but cmon… we get podcasts with close to zero editing and regular sound mixing from what, october 2020? The last one was pre election for sure and the one that aired yesterday or whenever was probably a bit after the election. I don‘t know man. I like Hydewars but really think the early YouTube era episodes weren‘t much worse than the newer ones and they have literally zero. editing. Everything sktech comedy I don‘t watch anymore. The sketch comedy part of MDE probably peaked with ideas man/college cunts/worldpeace. The funny irl stuff like Williamsburg fashion was amazing too, just like solo stuff from Sam. I don‘t think the jokes are as funny anymore, always seems like a really elaborate way to say nigger or something, always political. Also the production quality is bad despite Sam paying several zoomers to do it. I get that we won‘t get WorldPeace levels of production from some indie comedy group. But the angles/editing/etc. often seems intentionally bad. Not even in a postmodern/experimental way but just bad. The graphics are amazing though and probably better than ever, really cool stuff.

I haven't seen PGL 5 in its entirety. I just saw the 30 min clip posted on lil shitpost or the new pill. I don't hate bicflame. I think they do have some good chemistry. A highlight was the bit about hip hop. You get a view that a typical zoomer would give and I don't see it as a negative. I also like listening to his political opinion. The one person who rekindled my interest in Sam was deeply politically aligned with him. Maybe most of the audience does want to hear the political shit nowadays.
I'm more into it for the life advice geared me. A lot of the stuff he says really sticks with me, in a Jordan Peterson type of way. I also really dig the solo stuff like giving back to the hood. Its really fun piecing together what his background and personal life is like. You get nuggets of it in bicflame era stuff too.
On the contrary, I really do agree with the fact that it has changed significantly since the OG hydewars. The one with weckingball and the metal zine car cigar ep was absolute kino.

It's not bad it's just too much boring filler. The reacting to videos part (most of the podcast) should be cut out entirely and bic replaced with a less boring cohost, like Jet or the cameraman. Otherwise the standup parts are absolutely hilarious and the mailbag is great. An interview segment might be a good addition too
