Hmm, I'm not really doing that much lately either but I watch a huge amount of anime everyday it's the only thing left for me on the internet. A good series makes my life alot better and I imagine myself taking part in it. Also reading manga is a good thing too since it consumes huge amounts of time and you will not be feeling like you're wasting your life away.

Well anime is a good form of escapism for a hikikomori.

>Also reading manga is a good thing too since it consumes huge amounts of time and you will not be feeling like you're wasting your life away.

I actually used to not be very interested in reading manga and there was a time in my life where i only watched anime and didn't even read manga however now i am starting to get into manga and light novels as well.

Mostly video games and music but the anhedonia has started to set in pretty hard for them. Movies are incredibility dull and formulaic nowadays, most anime and mangos doesn't interest me, and books are a fucking pain to read with dyslexia and visual snow plus my attention span has been piss poor over the years.

Same. I think the two are related tbh. Once the anhedonia sets in you can't get immersed in the movie anymore, and then you see the formula behind the movie. But if you get immersed in it you don't ever question why X character doesn't just do Y at Z time.

I can agree with that i just watched The Simpsons movie the other night after not seeing it in a decade and honestly in terms of the storytelling it doesn't hold up but in terms of being entertaining it still does i guess.

I still have an interest in anime and manga really doesn't interest me all that much however i am trying to get into it now.

i watch huge amounts of pro wrestling everyday and watch old matches from the 80's and 90's on youtube too, read books (read Nausea by Sartre recently), listen to metal from the glorious eighties and lie on my bed for hours doing nothing, that's how my day goes.

For the most part I just play video games all day long since it's a hobby I've had since early childhood. Finding old gems and playing them is great. When I'm in a good state of mind I cook myself a nice dinner which usually keeps me busy for an hour or two, and it's also something I really enjoy. To wind down before I go to sleep I often watch an episode of anime or something else of interest currently that's An Idiot Abroad

Read a lot of manga, not much anime anymore. For every depressing seinen one (anything inio asano, melancholia, flower of evil, stuff like that) I read 5x the fluffy romance or SoL stuff (currently aharen-san) to escape into/vicariously live in. This endless consumption of content >>6089 mentions can get kind of depressing though, when you're consuming something just for the sake of consuming it and not because it's any good

>>6097

>Nausea by Sartre

I read a lot (or at least used to, my attention span is gone like >>6091 says) and I quit that early on. Kind of hit too close to home with that scene where he got nauseous at the bar.

Cooking is the only thing I do where I create something and I think that makes me feel better. Trouble is of course creating things is hard in general, even if you don't worry about the quality too much.

My favorite thing right now is eating savory foods while watching rekt/gore/suicide videos. I'm sadistic, so I feel glee and joy, get a wide smile when find a video where I see the death, and hear and see family member finds the body or a first responder fails to convince them to live. Also I read about various topics. I've gotten tired of porn lately. And I hate recent movies. I enjoy video games sometimes. I like mass effect 1&2 and play 3 to finish the story. Oddly enough, despite my bent personality as far as consumption goes, I always want to play as a paragon war hero who is loved and slightly feared by everyone. "The krogan will sing songs about you for generations." But recent PC Games suck. I think SJWs should be allowed to make their own games, but running my favorite franchises into the ground pisses me off. /rant anyway. Seriously though, just thinking about lunch time today watching people get burned alive and their terror and pain, people in sorrow and despair making themselves dead to escape, the anguish and confusion of those who find them gives me erotic anticipation and I feel starving after writing this.

I'm trying to get back into reading and programming. Reading is occupying most of my time and I like to purposely read old and dead authors. One such author is William James, whom I'm currently infatuated with.

>i honestly feel like i've done everything.

Maybe you should stick with something regardless of your feeling towards it. Something hopefully with depth, such as programming or writing. Regardless of your feeling towards these two subjects, they have a lot of depth to keep you busy. I see a lot of posters talk about anime and video games, but personally I fell out of those things when I was 18 or so. There's only so much you can do as a consumption machine.

I'll leave a quote from William James:

>Action seems to follow feeling, but really action and feeling go together; and by regulating the action, which is under the more direct control of the will, we can indirectly regulate the feeling, which is not.

>Thus the sovereign voluntary path to cheerfulness, if our spontaneous cheerfulness be lost, is to sit up cheerfully, to look round cheerfully, and to act and speak as if cheerfulness were already there. If such conduct does not make you soon feel cheerful, nothing else on that occasion can. So to feel brave, act as if we were brave, use all our will to that end, and a courage-fit will very likely replace the fit of fear. Again, in order to feel kindly toward a person to whom we have been inimical, the only way is more or less deliberately to smile, to make sympathetic inquiries, and to force ourselves to say genial things. One hearty laugh together will bring enemies into a closer communion of heart than hours spent on both sides in inward wrestling with the mental demon of uncharitable feeling. To wrestle with a bad feeling only pins our attention on it, and keeps it still fastened in the mind: whereas, if we act as if from some better feeling, the old bad feeling soon folds its tent like an Arab, and silently steals away.

I even walk fast in random ways to make the time go by faster, I did that right now, and now I'm about to throw up. Thanks for the (you). I'm like anyone, really. I've got the fascination, but its possible to learn about yourself by testing yourself. It's dangerous though to open links and watch videos, dangerous to your spirit. I saw a video recently that I keep having intrusive thoughts about. I've been practicing mindfulness, which may have contributed. And I've also lost someone in my family recently which may have contributed. Mindfulness is reducing my symptoms and improving the human interactions I have, so to add to my answer to

>what do all day?

I Meditate.

I find it interesting to learn about killers as well, but I'm not one to get into it very much. Having been "incel"-ish, and socially awkward I understand the pressures that can point some towards moral insanity. However, people are responsible for taking steps down the paths they are walking, and responsible for not choosing a different path. I could never participate or even advocate for the violence that is in the newspapers. Other than legally justified self-defense.

Oh i can absolutely agree with that anon i actually have discovered parts of myself that i'm not proud of just by opening links and finding out that i have an interest in this particular thing or this particular thing is apart of who i am.

>I saw a video recently that I keep having intrusive thoughts about. I've been practicing mindfulness, which may have contributed. And I've also lost someone in my family recently which may have contributed. Mindfulness is reducing my symptoms and improving the human interactions I have,

I've been trying to do that too but it's really hard i have been super depressed lightly because of the fact that Nux died. It still is surreal to me and reading all of his post that are still on here makes me kinda cry now knowing that i got to know him a bit more personally. He truly was one of the best hikki friends i've ever had and i will miss him.

>I find it interesting to learn about killers as well, but I'm not one to get into it very much. However, people are responsible for taking steps down the paths they are walking, and responsible for not choosing a different path

I completely agree with you anon me personally i am a very sympathetic person and having felt a lot of the same feelings that people like say Elliot Rodger for example felt i can understand why they did what they did however i do not condone what they did i just understand their pain and feel sorry for them to a certain extent.

>I could never participate or even advocate for the violence that is in the newspapers. Other than legally justified self-defense.

Same here and actually i don't think that most of us hikikomori even have the guts to kill others anyway. Although there was that 17 year old Japanese hikikomori in the year 2000 who left his room and went to go hijack a bus in neomugicha after posting a goodbye message on 2chan but that's the only case where a hikikomori tried to hurt others that i can think of.

I probably could have learned much more in that timespan but I feel very lazy most days and end up not studying much or at all.
