d9f71e No.3927 [View All]

Being a hikki I've basically done nothing but watch porn and play vidya it feels like. I'd like to do interesting things given my situation so I've installed ubuntu and started to learn emacs lisp. I think quitting porn is the hardest right now, the reason I'm trying is I want to be able to focus and have willpower essentially, which means discipline. And I'd like to get back into reading. I've had Dostoevsky sitting on my desk for about 2 years and have only read 2 chapters, that's sad.

What are you doing?

I sat down today and drew for the first time in about 6 years. I drew a male face, then a female one, they came out quite a bit better than I thought they would. I plan to dedicate at least a couple hours each day to practice my drawing. Other than that, I mostly play video games, watch tv shows, browse 8chan, and fap to porn.

>I think quitting porn is the hardest right now

I have also been struggling with this. My main problem is that most days I don't have enough to do to fill my time, so I fell into the habit of looking up porn when I get bored, then inevitably fapping myself raw. It helps to find things to fill your time, which can be difficult. Fortunately, I think focusing on my drawing will help fill my time a bit more so I fap less.

Eh, to me time you enjoy wasting isn't wasted time. I'm trying to cut back on jerking off though as its taking me to shit I'd rather not indulge in but as others have said, its kind of hard when you don't have anything to replace the time with. I tried nofap for like a month and it just made things worse, so I'm convinced that its bullshit.

Also been trying to get back into reading but being dyslexic and having a shit attention span doesn't help. My main issue lack a of motivation and that my focus is shot to shit and I can't go 5 minutes without refreshing boards or checking the very few chats I frequent.

I think we've all had days like that. I often wake up and tell myself "today's the day I'm going to work hard for what I want," and before midday even rolls around, I come across something that makes me terribly depressed and my motivation dies. I'm trying to fight the desire to just give up, and each day I think I get a little better at pushing myself. Hopefully I can keep this up.

>>3947

>I'm working on a game about an antisocial 17 year old girl's final three days of life.

That sounds pretty interesting. What genre will it be?

>Nofap is supposedly meant to make it really bad for two months, then make it better after.

I've heard people claim two weeks, one month, two months, and so on. I've also heard of others having serious problems with nofap, such as having wet dreams about self-fellatio. At any rate, I don't bother with nofap, I just try to fap less as it has definite benefits such as increased testosterone production and regaining focus. Nofap, however, is a waste as it makes a person more desperate for sex, and I have no interest in chasing after the bitches, sluts, and feminists that plague our society today.

The only two things that I can say for certain about nofap is:

>there is no definite time-frame where it just 'kicks in'

>the main focus (and benefit) of nofap is to avoid porn

Can you do it through CFW now? Fuck me, I could actually play the Professor Layton games now, that'd be neato.

And I wish there'd be a solid C64 emulator for the 3DS. There's a port of Frodo, but bloody Bubble Bobble doesn't run on it.

I do this now too. I used to fap once a day, but edge myself for 4-6 hours at a time. In my late teens/early twenties it was even worse, I would fap 1-2 times a day for 5+ hours each time. The longest I have ever edged was 9 hours. Honestly, my wrists are pretty messed up now and have been for years, they ache and pop pretty regularly. I don't think I can fix it.

I wouldn't really even fap as much as I'd just watch porn or read erotica for a few hours sometimes and when I did jerk off it would be a few times in a row. I've got it down to like once or twice a day and no longer then an hour. Its a start I guess.

Reading the NHK manga for the first time back in March/April of last year helped me lose weight, begin exercising everyday, and immensely improve my diet, oddly enough. I watched the anime years ago and while it was OK, it didn't leave a huge impression me. The manga seemed to give all the characters a few more layers (especially Misaki herself) which made it a much more interesting story. Personally though, I think the anime had the better ending, since Satou hadn't really done some unrealistic 180 like in the manga, but more just had to do what he needed to do to get by and to avoid starving to death and is still basically the same person he always was.

Anyway, I don't know. I guess reading it somehow spurred a Daesu-Oh style transformation in me, to engage in something different with my time, regardless of the additional health benefits and more out of the inherent novelty, as I'm locked in my own particular space. I'm also not ashamed to admit that a part of me wanted to embody Satou in a physical sense, as being a slim, bordering on emaciated at certain intervals, stick figure and have Misaki cheer me on in my own head as I do it. Almost as if, that if I could somehow enter that world, I'd need to be as slim as Satou, otherwise it just wouldn't "work" & the continuity would be missing (for lack of a better way to describe it). The decision for me to eat only one meal a day for a few months there, actually came from one of the later chapters of the manga where Satou is starving himself, which I've now forgotten the context for. Hell, there were multiple times where I even imagined Joey from the Blackwell games encouraging me to keep doing what I was doing, for whatever random reason. It all seemed rather arbitrary in the end, whatever I conjured in my head to keep me on task, but enh. I guess that's how it goes.

I also ordered some Phoenix Tears which I took alone in my room (THC concentrate) a couple months prior to my shift in routine, and before reading the manga, after having never tried a drug of any sort before, not even alcohol, and I'd have to say that also played a not so small part in it all. It was a deeply unpleasant experience filled with palpable doom & anxiety, laced with moments of profound insight, that eventually led to me suffering from bouts of recurring derealization, which thankfully subsided after a few weeks. I only did it that one time and, as a result, I'll probably never partake in it, nor anything similar to it, ever again, but I can't deny how it probably played a large role into doing what I ended up doing.

Unfortunately, I had to stop exercising because it caused something known as ETD (Eustachian tube dysfunction) to flare up in me like crazy, which is a bit of a shame, and something I never experienced before I began those new habits. Apparently ETD is common for those who experience rapid weight loss, but it's too bad it was such a hassle to deal with. It's only bothered me occasionally since then, but I guess I just wish there was a solid way to prevent it other than to not exercise, which itself isn't a 100% effective method. Then again, I probably would've tapered off doing it anyway, so whatever. Doesn't matter, I guess. It's just a chain of worthless gestures in the end. At least I'm still eating healthily.

By a normal's standards, it's basically the only productive thing I've done in 12 years.
