also keep in mind this guide may not get you far, he's basically says what every other neet/hikki would; "research your 'illnesses', and fake it convincingly." you may encounter someone who can read people well or knows mentally ill people and then your fucked. its happened to me, just expect it.

>Any tips.

If you have real long documentation history, then, you are more likely. Lived with someone to make things easier of us for both. Thats what I did.

Professional Tip: Follow the basic rule in all life, to not actively f-up. Do not disquakify yourself, and then, you can have the good success If you were qualifiable. So, don't mistake, give them information. And dont lie wildly because they may talk to doctors you have had or send you to. If you have kied, doctors may be able to see this and tell SSA.

Most important. Ceep Calm and wait it out, reapply as necessary.

Have you or anyone ever heard of anyone getting dropped for good after 3 reappeals/judge in a more liberal state like california? Ive been out of work for 8 yrs and have all sorts of problems, admitted myself to hospital once and thinking of doing it again. Once they recommend me to therapists and reaources maybe this will boost my chances.

I really wonder if there is a hidden law or rule where psych ward admission twice or more qualifies you like Uncle Remus guide claims

As a hikki (for 6+ months) intermittentaly over many year. I don't have any examples of others in my life in any states. However, california and "like california" can mean very differently depending on if difference is liveral about social politics or about gibsmedats (i support). West virginia for example is not huge liberally state, but has many disabled on SSI and Social Security.

If you have a disability that should qualify you, if you seek treatment consistently while reapplying and waiting for hearing, and accumulate documantetion, and especially if you have disablety lawyer, thenYOU SHOULD GET THE MONEY. the system is designed to support us. that's what its there for.

give them all the reason to approves you and then they will. They arent punished for approving too many people, they have no reason AGAINST approving you as long as you seem legitimate and give them documentation to justify their approving youmen.

i got it for agoraphobia and social anxiety. when they asked me to go visit them i refused and made them send doctors to interview me. whenever they asked for me to go somewhere i told them i was homebound and they needed to arrange somebody to come to me. all i had a was a long history of being a shut-in and i got it. i got sent to the psych ward as a teen once because i was a shut-in and the police got called to remove me and placement in the psych ward was the first step to start the process.

if you've an actual hikikomori with a history of being a shut-in then agoraphobia and social anxiety is easy to get it. i legitimately didn't give a shit if i got it or not and simply refused to leave anywhere to try to get it. now i live by myself and the last time they even reviewed my case was like 5 years ago. it was just some doctor who came and asked me some questions and left. besides that i just fill out paperwork they send me once per year. the place i'm living hassles me constantly with shit while ssi/ss is totally chill

Sounds kinda similar to my current living situation although i don't get ssi for agoraphobia or social anxiety even though i know i have them both i get ssi for autism but i am wondering if i should go see my doctor and get diagnosed with agoraphobia social anxiety and even depression. I only go to the doctor once a year and i haven't gone yet this year.

I had to do something similar to get unemployment insurance. It's $681/week. All I had to do was fill out a bunch of stuff and do the phone interview and then they told me to wait a week before I was finally approved. You should just have a doctor sign that you are unable to work. I had to do that to get disability in the past when I was still employed. Submitted a bunch of stuff to the life insurance company including diagnoses and medical records.

I have two appointments, examinations, coming up. On the 17th and 21st, and I'm nervous as hell. And I think I'll actually have to leave my room those days but my mom is calling tomorrow to see if they'll come to me.

My mom is telling me how I'll have to act a bit "off" for them in order to get approved but fuck man, most of my issues aren't expressive ones, they're internalized. The only way they're expressed is through my lack of hygiene, i.e no showering for weeks and my hair is ratted and I haven't shaved. I want this money for both me and my mom but man, 2 appointments? I'm so nervous I might not have to act on the day of the appointments, I'll probably just naturally have a mental breakdown.

Fuck.

Social Security cancelled the two appointments as they decided they had enough information to make a decision on my case based on my medical records (for which there are a lot). Hopefully this is a good thing as all my illnesses are documented and such. It's a relief not having to go to those appointments but I'm still worried. I'd be happy with just $200 a month, if I could just get that I'd be able to help my mom out.

I have an interesting situation in which I have been seeing a mental health facility on govt'd bux for almost two years now. My first diagnosis was schizoaffective and when I asked for the financial assistance they said they had career fairs, which was a hard pass. Now my new diagnosis is bipolar and my schizoaffective is cleared, but it would only take 4 months of monitoring to apply for SSI. I applied once but they wanted stuff from me that I would have to call people to get so I let the application expire. Apparently, they will help me now with my new psych whereas my old psych knew nothing about financial benefits? Will report back if I get it.

Would it be based on opportunity, on commercial business, on exploitation of information..? I'm interested because I'm wrting a novel too.

I was initially granted it for depression/anxiety as a teen only for them to discontinue it for no good reason once I turned 20.

And not only am I still mentally ill, but I'm at least 5x worse than I was back then, with physical problems now too. I also had four strokes and an aneurysm that almost killed me, and I can barely walk or speak from the brain/nerve damage.

>What the fuck am I doing wrong?

Yeah, what are you doing exactly? You know the form you have to fill out that has questions and writing sections for you? Well, for any question that wasn't a simple answer, I typed out a very long and detailed response and attached a paper full of answers. I think in total I had 4 or so pages full of written responses. I had a so-called "witness" I put down, which was my mom. So in addition to me filling out this form, she got her own form sent from Social Security and wrote answers down for every section and wrote similar to me but did her own thing of course. And of course I have numerous diagnoses; avoidant personality disorder, social phobia, bipolar I disorder, and neurodevelopmental disorder. I think the main thing is you need a written diagnosis of something more significant (to the eyes of social security) than depression and social anxiety.

If you have to, anon, twist the truth a bit; not lie exactly but stress certain things, emphasize, exaggerate your issues.

This is just how I went through it, and it seemed to work out though maybe I'm just a rare case, I don't know.

I get a little over $1200 dollars a month through disability, as a result of crippling autism/depression, some of which I hammed up a bit for the sake of the diagnosis (not to say I'm not Mr. Autismo Supreme 99% time, but still). It was late 2012 when I was approved and the bux have been flowing in ever since. I'd consider myself lucky since I was only denied once, and that was before I got a confirmed diagnosis from both my family doctor & a local shrink, and never had to resort to a lawyer/challenging a bad ruling, as I've heard some others have been forced to do. I've never been bothered by anybody and, assuming social services never go away in this country, am essentially on it for life, no questions asked.

Avoiding eye contact, strongly accentuating my anxiety by taking overt deep breaths and needing to physically stand up from my seat every now again, being very vague & tense with my body language in general, being as stupid, clumsy & incompetent as possible when it came to any testing involved, which itself was basically limited to just a single IQ & personality test filled with random logic, visual, & auditory problems to solve that, granted, I would've done pretty badly on either way. I can recall on how one section asked me to describe my favorite hobbies/past times and I just wrote in big crayon letters how I "liked Chrono Trigger because it has nice characters & a good story". When I was asked to expand on that, I just shook my head and said "No, sorry. I can't.". Hilarity being that I'd never even fucking played Chrono Trigger and still haven't, in fact. Just seemed like a good autistic thing to write at the time to, again, ham it up a little. Maybe none of it made any difference in the end, but enh. Who can say. Still couldn't hurt to keep in mind for other prospective hermits seeking disability, though. Every little bit helps.
