OK, time for a gross topic but it checks out.
Why would you even use tampons, like, ever? The sole idea of having that thing inside me gross me out. If you think pads are "gross" and "smelly", you haven't seen an used tampon in your life. I mean, I get tampons are absorbent, but pads are so easy to change that it's barely a problem.

Never saw them here. The most common one they sell in pharmacies and grocery stores here are pads. And we only get pad ads on TV.

Seems to be a few questions.
Ok so yes the cup is reusable, most brands are silicone and do not absorb odors. I use the lunette brand because they have larger sizes lol but there are small sizes too. If you haven't had children and you are interested get the small size. They are super comfortable once you get the hang of using it, and if you plan on living off the grid you need this. I have had no leaks with this thing. The only downside is if you are freaked out by a cup of blood. This is a major improvement in period technology and I mean no disrespect to girls who don't want this, but for me it changed everything about that time of the month. Would not recommend for first timers, they typically don't have a heavy flow anyways. Instructions are typically the same for all cups

I dunno about that. Having something inside for such for the whole day HAS to be noticeable. With a pad I just put it there and forget it even exists.

Me and my sis only wore pads when we actually got our menstruation. Sadly, some panties got covered in blood.
The bad thing is that you have to pinpoint WHEN she gets menstruation and try to find the pattern. She would be a 28 days girl or, if she's unlucky, an irregular. I don't think wearing a pad when you don't have menstruation is worth it. Just wait til it comes.

Tampons should be used when you want to go to the pool or if you are wearing a thong, otherwise it's not like someone will check inside your pants for what you have for your period.

I actually find it to be worse with pads. With a tampon, it's quite small and ends up matching your body heat. If Im not aroused, I really dont feel the inside down there, its not like I can feel the walls touching when theyre not open - it is the same with tampons.
I totally forget tampons exist, pads I can constantly feel against me and weighing me down, hate em.

This post is gold. I used a cup one summer while being a lifeguard years ago and I never went back to pads. The idea of sitting in my own oxidizing blood and wearing something so similar to a diaper started to gross me out.
I only wished someone would have told me about cups existing earlier, I would have saved myself awkward high school package crinkling in the bathroom. I empty the cup once every 12 hours or so, I'm not changing it every 2 hours.

It's really every 2 hours more for tampons, but I admit I changed pads overmuch because I was worried about leakage, and they would start to stink. I felt perpetually gross.

It doesn't smell at all with cups. The blood never leaves the body so it has no contact with air, and therefore doesn't oxidize.
In terms of leaking, it depends on how well you put it in place, same as tampons, both took me a while to get the hang of. I get occasional spotting the first day of my period, but it's probably user error. I'll put a pantyliner on that first day and go without for the rest of it. Still an improvement from full-on pads or tampons.
I forgot to say how much cheaper they are. I've been using one per year, ish, they cost me something like $25 each (I got the Diva one, not sure what others cost). I like not having to buy it monthly.

Seconding this. I used pads when I was growing up and was looking for something that'd reduce the messy aspect of having a period a couple of years ago. The idea of sticking up something absorbent inside of myself makes me cringe, so I'm grateful that I saw someone shill these a couple of years ago.
Decided to buy 2 cups for £6 on amazon and I haven't looked back since. The initial few months where I was figuring out the best way to put it in were a bit annoying, but now I can do the entire process in 15 seconds. (if anyone else is having issues then cutting the 'stem', squatting and/or possibly masturbating beforehand helps a ton)
I completeley forget that I'm even on my period, as long as I don't have the obvious physical signs such as cramps/sore breasts/backpain. I sound like a shill but it's lifechanging. Being able to take baths while you're on your period? Godsend.
