What do you think about the NSA or CIA spying on based Anon's? I find it far worse that there are Ad Services blatantly selling our personal information on some Amazon Webservices background service. No wonder whenever I go on eBay it always suggests me hunting knifes, fishing gear, or rifle scopes.
DuckDuckGo sounds like a good alternative, but it comes off to me like some kind of search engine equivalent of Aldi's. It still makes you fat but they say they're giving you some kind of feature like cheaper food or "less data collecting".

Both are bad, period.
>DuckDuckGo sounds like a good alternative
Atleast for me it is. As a matter of fact, DDG searches tend to be more impartial in most subjects to me.

Learn how to use uMatrix.
Also, DuckDuckGo is owned by (((Gabriel Weinberg))). Use startpage.com.

Owned by an ad company. Just use searx, searx is decentralized. There are many instances of searx just as there are many instances of invidious. If one goes down or is compromised, there will be others to replace it.

Protip: just start with the word "define" if you search for anything shady. That way, you can have infinite probable deniability.

Circumventing trackers and the like has gotten relatively easier over the years. Use DuckDuckGo (if you can ignore the fact it's run by a jew who used to sell data) or Startpage (although it essentially behaves as a proxy for Google (You -> Startpage -> Google)) as other anons have suggested. An overwhelming majority of tracking is done through Javscript, so consider using NoScript and uBlock Origin along with Tor or a VPN. The best defense is common sense.

Thanks anons, I set it from startpage to searx. Searx kept failing and I just used startpage for reliability. Its gotten better it seems.

Before I switch, can I at least know why it's bad besides who owns it?

The reason it's considered bad is because it's owned by an ad company. Who owns it here is important because if you want a program that doesn't spy on you, the least trustworthy owners are governments and ad companies. Startpage got bought out by an ad company, that's enough for me and many others to not use it.
