there used to be an /irc/ board here to talk about the mod/janitor irc leaks and a few jannies would give some insight on how the behind the scenes process works.
When 8chan went down and 8kun was made the board owners had to go and manually request that their board be reinstated, but it looks like whoever was in charge of the /irc/ board never did that and so far nobody else has done it either. I tried to register the board but the system still recognizes it as an existing (although deactivated) board and asks for the previous board owner's password to set up again.
