>what about all these teens on yt claiming that they shifted to Hogwarts?
I've not heard of people actually describing their shift or visit to such a place, but what I have seen though is a colossal amount of mundanes attempting to manifest some sort of shift through affirmations, which depending on the users can look like a re-telling.
Also its youtube, the place has always been swarming with trolls like reddit who will just goad others into a convo like that. Not to mention it being a breeding ground for brainwash-ey ideas (and literal actual cults) from wannabe internet stars & self-serving magicians alike.
Also after looking at the top results for hogwarts subliminals, they're mostly just binaural beats and an image, which can neither harm you nor shift you.
>Are they just gaslighting themselves to the point of believing their own lies, or is it something eles?
To me it really sounds like LARPing honestly, they're not even really using subliminals. What it really looks like is an imaginary shift, much like guided shamanic meditations. In short, you listen to a constant, steady beat (in this case binaurals) and use your imagination to essentially attempt contact with your subconscious, which can act as a kind of guide as the goal is to manifest your "spirit animal"/"guardian angel" etc. Some call it a realm in and of itself, but the fact that mundanes can easily access it with their imagination, and the fact that it often speaks through visual symbol and image, leads me to describe it the way I did before. Usually the imagery is descending some form of staircase, but in this context it sounds like they're using their fandom knowledge to make that the setting instead.
If you try out a guided shamanic journey (with or without dialogue) then try one of these hogwarts videos, you should see the similarities for yourself.
>I guess I am a bit naive, but it's hard to believe that people just lie consciously and make whole channel based on this fact.
You should read the books in the FAQ and take a look at montalk.net. A great many people in the world have seen a glimpse of a diluted half-truth and paraded around with it as if they had discovered something. Ignorance and naivete can be worse than lies.
TLDR: From what I can tell they aren't using any real subliminals and are simply using the videos as a guided meditation to help them imagine they are in Hogwarts, which can seem very real depending on the person, as it's accessing the subconscious. If lucid dreaming is a weaker form of astral projection, this kind of meditating ("shifting") is a weaker form of lucid dreaming.
Shifting is physical, if they succeeded in shifting to Hogwarts they probably wouldn't be here to write about it.
(Especially considering how they treat muggles / mundanes there)
