I'm doing some intense core exercises. Crushes, sit ups, ab machines, the whole nine yards. However, I am struggling to activate my 6 inner abs like in pic related. I feel like the crunches and ab machine is only working the sides, not the 6 abs inside. Is there something I can do to better work my core?

I just looked at a few of Athlean-X's videos on YouTube (the guy's name is Jeff) and seen his demonstrations and explanations of how to works the upper and lower abs. I'm going to try to utilize what he teaches.

Currently, I just cannot strain my middle core enough.

The primary function of your abs is bracing.

Consider training that.

Also, "feeling" like you've activated a muscle is no indicator at all that it's been worked, and "feeling" like you haven't activated a muscle is no indication at all that it hasn't been worked.

Please do barbell squats and deadlifts.
