I'm looking for movies with a certain aesthetic, see pics related. Basically an 80s photography feel with vibrant and sharp colors, lots of lights, neons, night-time, a certain dream-like quality. Wish I could express myself better but I'm bad at English, hopefully you understand what I'm looking for by looking at the images. Doesn't have to be necessarily an 80s movie (as you can see, I included some Eyes Wide Shut screencaps), just this type of aesthetic. I already seen most of Wong Kar Wai films which would be an easy suggestion. Throw at me everything that comes to your mind. Also discuss any aesthetics in film that you like/reminds you of the 80s (not only the type I requested), just for the sake of discussion

I wholly recommend Streets of Fire which is a movie about a war vet saving his pop star ex-gf from a gang of bikers, the whole town is essentially high school students so there's a campy and storybook vibe and it's a shame that it didn't get the recognition it deserved. For some reason the movie tanked and is forgotten despite it being extremely 1980s without being cheap or trendy, it was made by Walter Hill too who has many famous movies from the era. The poster was also homaged to for a Protomen album cover if you're into that faggot shit.
The first Terminator took place at night and there's a shootout at a night club called Tech Noir which was the name for cyberpunk at the time as a nod to Ridley Scott.

Miami Connection and the Warriors? The former is grossly 80s to the point of parody, and the latter isn't neon but covers the nocturnal part perfectly.

Fear City is close to a perfect match of the visual style (at least in the screenshots). It's hard to find too many other such movies that are new to me. A lot of potential candidates don't have enough neon or vibrant colors. The 2010s retrowave stuff seems to have much more neon than the original 1980s inspiration.
Now here is
Mahiru no kirisakima AKA High Noon Ripper (Yôjirô Takita, 1984)'''
<A journalist. Two photographers. One infamous serial killer on the loose.
You'd be surprised that the director of this sleaze went on to win an Oscar in 2008.

Invidious embed. Click thumbnail to play. Someone posted the trailer for this last year (before it had come out). I watched it and ended up really liking it. It was unpredictable, bizarre, had interesting characters, and was obviously incredibly aesthetic. It reminded me a lot of Drive (which I wasn't a fan of) so I'd expect anyone that loved Drive to love this even more.

>Cyberpunk
These should just be renamed to modern day in metropolis films, I live in Jew York and this is pretty much already reality, all we're missing is replacing more buildings with cheap ironically capitalist brutalist architecture, and putting more lights outside brick buildings and you pretty much have the exact same thing as cyberpunk.

Kind of funny, "modern day in metropolis", they used Shanghai for future Los Angeles in "Her". Makes me think.

YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play. The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989)
Set in Seattle, it's a movie that challenges the suburban daytime married with kids lifestyle with a nocturnal urban arts lifestyle of single adults. Ultimately it's a life of loneliness and frustration but it still has its charms. It's my favorite Michelle Peiffer movie
