Jack and Jill (2011). Though most of the film was dull, it contained a very notable scene featuring Al Pacino. I dare say it's one of the greatest moments in cinematic history. Dugan's camerawork is exquisite and Pacino's raw impassioned performance carries it to increasingly lofty heights. The lyricism is perfectly measured, each rhyming couplet dancing across the ears of the viewer. The relationship between "latte lights" and a town that is "outta sight" is so provocative that it merits whole essays worth of critical analysis. When Dunk asks us "What's my name?", he asks us not just what his name is but what our name is. In three words, our whole conception of what we know is destroyed, replaced by a void that can only be "named". Such meaningful interrogation of the human condition explored with emotional bombast is seldom seen outside of the theatre and indeed this audio-visual delight reminds one of Wagner's Tristan und Isolde,an opera only narrowly surpassed in terms of artistic merit by Dunkaccino. When future historians come to assemble a reformed Western canon, Dunkaccino will surely take pride of place as the single greatest achievement of the Western world.

Funnily enough, I just watched Happy Madison with my grandfather.
As for best movies, I'll nominate Billy Madison and Waterboy.

The Ridiculous 6 was such a touching and enlightening portrayal of what it was like to be a Jew in America during the 1800's. I'd go so far as to say that it rivals Schindler's List in not only its artistic merit, but also its historical and cultural impact. The fact that it wasn't even nominated for any award just goes to show that Hollywood, far from being run by Jews, is antisemitic. The few Jews in Hollywood who are open about their heritage are attacked by open Antisemites, which I think can best be noticed with the attacks on many Jewish individual in Hollywood. The most famous among these victimized individuals is Harvey Weinstein. Despite his dedication to the movie industry (including co-founding Miramax) he was falsely accused of sexually soliciting many women. In this film, Adam Sandler has displayed the inherent bias of not only America, but the world when it comes to the sensitive issue of Jewish historical, and current persecution.
