Anyway, I think it's about being able to retain people. If someone eventually comes here and sees a dead board, they'll leave. If one by one you can start amassing an userbase, it'll start to grow, just like it happened with /sthg/.
What would worry me the most would be keeping user quality high and not attracting retards, because I wouldn't want the same thing that happened with /sthg/ to happen again.
